adamx23:Sir, I have seen the debilitating and gruesome poverty in parts of the north 1st hand. Nigeria is the World's Poverty capital cos of the north, esp the NW and NE. The statistics for povertypoverty in most of the south is within middle income country range( 10-25%), whereas the Northwest has a ppverty rate of over 80%!!!! Same goes for Illiteracy rate, severe hunger rate, infant mortality rate, drug abuse rate, etc etc. In fact, but for the north, Nigeria's himan indices would certainly not have put her amongst the worst performing in the world. Anybody that tells you otherwise is deceiving you. BIG TIME |
How come most of the pics are of light complexion peeps? Mostly Fulanis? @topic, it is great that you are trying to dispense some of the negative sterotypes about northerners, esp Hausas and Fulanis. However, you have to also acknowledge and interrogate the terrible state of the north in terms of socioeconomic and human indices e.g Nigeria is a very poor country mainly due to the north. I am a student of history and i know that northerners, in their different shades and types, are beautiful/womderful people. It is pity most of us down south do not know about the north that much, and vice versa. Perhaps this will spur the engagement that will improve this. Regards |
Talented lots. But i see one northerner in your list. Appointment must be balanced. There are really competent and corrupt-free people in every part of Nigeria. A large responsibility of Leadership is to mobilize resources, especially people, by making every person feel part of the leadership. Exclusion is poisonous to Leadership. I thought people woud have learnt from the disaster that is Buhari |

seunmsg:The agreement by Obj was very stupid and provicative you are right. It smacks of the disdain that these politicak elites have for us. But does that mean that Buhari, our current President and the so-called "Mr Integrity" should reinforce such abomination. The whole arrangement is sickening! |
budaatum:Shut ya mouth tha, Bros!!! Gov Bugudu has agreed with the essential content of that Blomberg report. The Lame attempt of the FG spokeman is a strawman. |
Okoroawusa:What the heck is wrong with some of you? |
GamalNasser:Telling!! |
raumdeuter:These are the major ministries: Defence, Interior, Finance, Agric, Education, Works, Foreign Affairs. They are a mix of northerners and southerners. And even if they arent, it is the President's responsibility to fix it. Now, plzz respond to my comments on the security make up of the country currently. |
raumdeuter:The following are the members of the National Security Council and heads of security/parasecurity agancies in Nigeria: Chiefs of Defence, Army, Naval, Air staffs, IGP, NSA, Minister of Defence, DG of SSS, DG of NIA, Comptroller General of Customs, Head of Prisons, Head of Immigration, Head of Civil Defence, etc etc. Out of these, only two came from the south. In fact, there is a region from the south that does not have a single rep within the security architecture of the country!!! Following your initial comment and reason given in that comment, do you think this is a balanced arrangement geared to enhancing national security? Do you think it is fair? |
tartar9:Ok....you support this and for the reason you just gave- balanced representation and unity. Do you support the dominance of the security apparatus of this country by persons from a single region to the exclusion of others by this Buhari regime? |

Am honestly afraid now adays to open and read "news" about Nigeria. It is so sad. ![]() Wish i wont just care. But i love this country too much |
Sirjamo:How? Do not allow the blood of people killed indiscriminately all over this country fall on your head cos of silly partisan political considerations or loyalties. There must always be a line. Personally, i find it dufficult to openly ask for replacement of Service chiefs or commanders so as not to give terroists the impression that they are winning or worst still that they can influence decisions in the country. However, at this point that is just the only option we have. These group of Service chiefs can no longer do their job. There is too much lethargy everywhere. We need new blood. New ideas and newer way of defeating the humongous security challenges we currently face in this nation. People are dying. Change the Service chiefs. Change your strategy. Politics be damned!!! |
Even a conc NL Buharists are you guys learning? Note: whatever happened to the Great Prof Sagay? Some things are just amazingly shocking |
Sirjamo:Mr man, have you noticed that you are the only person still defending Buhari here. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/377162-boko-haram-attacks-maiduguri-hours-after-buharis-visit.html |
Commentor:I hope you know that Virtually ALL those persons who supported Buhari in 2015 ( or didnt support GEJ then) have turned against him. Including Bishop Kukah. No sane person, except you are narcissistic or chops from the Govt directly, can support Buhari as at today. Your smear campaign against the Bishop is weak and pathetic |
When some of us, out of principles, shouted at the top of our voice about the openly clannish northern Muslim appointment and control of all levers of Govt in a way it has NEVER happened in this country before, some small minded political jobbers here were saying it doesnot matter- that Buhari should appoint those he trusts and that what matters is not where you come from. Now we now where all that foolhardy is leading us. Have we learnt anything?? |
What is Falana talking about? Govs have no right to remove elected officials. If the Gov jas any issues with how they got elected as LG chairman, he should go to tbe courts. It is impunity to remove them arbitarily. People MUST respect the constitution at all times. And this goes PDP or APC. |
This is for those slow minds and/or political ass lickers who said the reason the USA placed restrictions on migration of Nigerians was cos Nigerins "overstays". Lolz. When we have counties like Canada and Mexico having higher No of " overstays". The real reason is here: ineptitude of the Nigerian Govt, past and present, in basic things as well as the alarming failure in security. The Buhari regime been the worst in this respect. |
LegendHero:He didnt ban those countries that have higher no of people "overstaying" like Canada but banned Nigerians cos Nigeria is weak. Diplomatically and All. That is why i laugh when some persons here are saying it is cos we "overstay". Nigeria has fallen so bad that the USA, a country that is one of the highest buyers of our crude and a country that we were supposed to have a strategic partnership with, is blatantly restrictly the migrating or even visit her people. That a whole Bishop was restricted this week should serve as a peek of what is to come. Our political leadership, past and present, have FINISHED us. |
voltron14:Will you keep kwayet. Restricting Nigerians from travelling to USA is a BIG deal. A very big one. Dont limit it by calling it "...a mere immigration policy". It is another indication of how low Nigeria has fallen. I know Trump is crazy. But there are some countries that he would not have done this with. Not this easily. Moreover, the excuse he would give is the terrible security situation in todays Nigeria with Boko haram, ISWAP and herdsmen/bandits killing indiscriminately. The security situation directly reflects on the President, who is C-inC |
Biafrannuke:Bros, am not a Biafra supporter. I still believe in nigeria as bad as things have become. Thank you though |
voltron14:Are you comparing Nigeria with Tanzania or Eritrean? Diplomatically? Really?? |
If the Buhari Govt is not able to pull strings diplomatically and prevent this terrible situation, it would have lost every ouch of international standing Nigeria ever had. Things are just getting worse on all counts!!! |
jerry447:The SW did not vote for Buhari massively in 2019. About 45% of people from the SW voted against Buhari( which might even be higher but for the usual rigging). Hell, states like Oyo and Ondo voted against Buhari( NOTE: i didnt say voted for Atiku). This is remarkable for a region with the VP and a "promise" for the Presidency in 2023. We need to look deeper all the time |
Nice123:Buhari does not have the capacity for this kind of shrewd Leadership. Dont you guys get it?? |
By the way, NO person from the SouthEast and just one person from the South South as well as 2 persons from the South West, whilst the rest are from the "core" north, are members of the extended National Security Council. Am a histroy student. Nigeria has never had it so bad in terms of Nepotism and exclusion of some groups. And it is at the core of the terrible things happening in Nigeria today. And it is amazing that people of the far North and even the SW are not seeinv anything bad here. It is even worse that the elected officials of say the SE(Govs, Senators, Ministers etc) have done nothing on such lopsidedness. |
GamalNasser:This here is Gospel. Buhari's problem is both Capacity and Mindset. That is why there is no hope with him as President. |
BuhariAdvocate:You are actually Sick!! But you dont know it yet. And that is the real pity |
Jarus:That is interesting |
hisexcellency34:That is not true. Lets be fair always |
