A. Peter Obi: His my choice for the award. His selfless nature and concern for the Masses has shown that if given the opportunity, Nigeria wouldn't become like the western world overnight, but we'll all see significant changes in governance. B. Victor Osimhen: Aside from qualifiers, he hasn't represented Nigeria in any tournament. 95% of his fame this year came from his impressive performance at Napoli. Although I wouldn't nominate him for the award this year, he'll definitely make my list in future. C. Burna Boy: He made a global impact this year in the world of music no doubt. But like every other musician, his impact is basically for himself and not for Nigerians. That's why I wouldn't nominate him. D. President Bola Tinubu: With the kind of suffering Nigerians are currently going through, no thanks to his poorly calculated policies, coupled with the falling naira and inflation. And how he's shown little or no concern towards our plight. I don't think he deserves to be on this list. If we're to do away with tribalism and face reality, President Tinubu performed woefully this year. Let's hope his performance next year would improve for all our sakes. E. Tems: To be honest, I don't really know much about her. But like Burna Boy, she's representing herself not Nigerians so she's not making my list. F. The late MohBad: I never knew he even existed until his death. So he certainly cannot be my 2023 person of the year. G. The Dangote Refinery: This was suppose to top my nomination list. But they never refined any petrol in 2023. Hopefully by 2024, when they start refining petrol and selling at an affordable rate, they'll top my list. |
Of the seven people below, who do you think should be Nigeria's Person of the Year, 2023? a. Peter Obi b. Victor Osimhen c. Burna Boy d. President Bola Tinubu e. Tems f. The late MohBad g. The Dangote Refinery Please kindly give a short explanation for why you chose the option you did. Source Reno Omokri.

Stefan45:Continue doing the business that gave you the 30m. If the money is part of your inheritance or you won a jackpot or something, you don't need to Japa. What you need is a sustainable means of income and you can visit any country of your choice. Having said that, I'll suggest you open a standard club. Package it well and Pay notable SM influencers to advertise it for you. Believe me, you'll make that money within a year if you know what you're doing. Cos Nigerians are club freaks. |
This should be a walk in the park for us. |
eepeepook:Use POS. The sender would be the name of the POS agent. |
Next time just open YouTube and get step by step instructions on how to prepare any dish of your choice. Exposing your supposed ignorance to immature people would only lead to mockery and insult (directly or indirectly) |
jamesversion:I'm not talking about hookup prices. I'm talking about a supposedly engaged girl asking a total stranger for 8k so he can have sex with her. If she was asking for between 500k - 1m, I would have understood considering how hard things are in this economy. But 8k? |
johnog4sure:Lol...you go wait taya. They know that the 50% discount is a scam that's why they're all silent. Most of them must have secretly gone to these parks to inquire just for propaganda purposes, on hearing that the buses are still charging their normal inflated prices, they left in shame and kept quiet. If the 50% discount was real, Tinubu's e-rats would have painted the who social media with videos of passengers confirming that they paid 50%. This announcement is as fake as the Nigerian air that was unveiled few weeks to the end of Buhari's administration. Just lies upon lies. That's what APC has been feeding us with since 2015. |
What still baffles me is how people still manage to defend Tinubu's policies since May 29th. Every achievement Tinubu has made since resuming office has been on paper. We're yet to see even one policy that has made life easier for the masses. On the 50% discount on travelers going to the East, myself and two friends went to Chisco and God is Good parks at Jibowu on the 26th to confirm. They told us clearly, that they're charging their full price and if we want to book for a seat we should pay. Of course we didn't want to travel, we just wanted to confirm what Mr President said. Nobody has benefitted from the so called 50% discount, yet everywhere is silent. If you talk his e-rats who can't even afford a day's meal would attack you. APC has been lying to our faces since 2015, yet they keep defending Tinubu and his Party. Africans truly have a serious problem. |
I don't get this. 8k to sleep with a total stranger when she has a fiance she's living with and who's probably shouldering all her financial responsibilities. Like what is 8k and what exactly can such amount of money do for her in this economy? If the money the op was offering was like 500k - 1m, I would have understood. But 8k? Haba, that girl is nothing but a parasite. |
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. |
pocohantas:This is why I'm against couples who's marriages are flourishing...and they come to social media to rub their happiness on the faces of vile, angry, hateful, frustrated, poverty riddled beings. If you want to enjoy your marriage, keep it away from social media. |
It depends on individual preferences. For some it's Companionship: Not everyone wants to remain single forever. At some point in your life, you'll need a companion you'll want to share your life with. For others it's for Financial Benefits As crazy as this sounds, some people try to upgrade their financial status through marriage. Not everyone wants to remain poor forever most especially when they're aware that marriage can cure their poverty state as well as the poverty in their entire family lineage. For some it's for procreation. Having your kids grow with both parents present is something everyone wants. Not everyone buys the idea of baby Mamas. Having your wife or husband stand by you whilst supporting the kids emotionally, financially, religiously...etc, is the dream of most people. For some it's for Safe Sex Nigeria is a religious country and we were brought up to believe that sex outside marriage is fornication. So some people get married so they can have sex with their partners without having to sin against God through fornication. And for the records, God doesn't care if you marry or not. After all Jesus didn't marry. He's only concern is that you live a life free of sin. A life that would glorify him. |
This only happens when you marry your enemy. Inasmuch as there verified cases of men regretting why they married their spouses, I can assure you that there are countless couples who are enjoying their marriage. It's all about choosing the right partner. |
maureensylvia:Well said. And he has to take into consideration the rising cost of basic ingredients like flour, sugar, vegetable oil, gas, eggs... etc. Cos if the cost keeps rising, it would definitely affect his profit. @Op If this was 10 years ago, I would have encouraged you to carry on, cos you'll record massive profit. But today, inflation might make you struggle in the business. A bag of 50kg flour is 49k. You've not even bought oil, sugar, gas, eggs...etc. If you're spending 49k alone on flour, how much do you want to sell your snacks to customers? If you put your price too high, you'll certainly record poor sales. Cos people expect the prices of those kind of snacks to be between 10-200 naira. Anything above that figure would be considered too expensive. Many people don't understand how Tinubu's policies is killing small scale businesses in the country. As bad as people felt Buhari was, things wasn't like this during his tenure. |
Ahcu22:Are you from Ohafia? @Op Bride price in Ohafia is relatively cheap. You won't spend much cos the family of the girl are the ones who would do most of the things. The call it send forth. They would cook, kill goat and send her forth to your house. It's a very simple occasion that can be done with any amount of money you have. |
The only thing about eckancker I knew back then as a student was that most of my mathematics and physics lecturers were members. |
I don't believe this story. Reason being that the gap in the figures she gave to you as her salary and what her actual salary is was just too much. You can't have a wife who earns such amount and wouldn't know unless you're an illiterate. Knowing the name of the company where she works alone would make you know that there's no way such a company can pay their staffs 35k when it's not a private school. It's like someone working who works in Microsoft Lagos telling you that they pay them 50k. You'll slap him cos you know that staffs there earn from 1m and above monthly. Your story isn't realistic. |
HugeElephant:Lol... you're just being emotional about what he went through. This is probably why you've refused to face reality. Whatever financial commitment you make on any partner you aren't legally married to isn't binded by the law. So stop exposing your ignorance. In all your years in Nigeria, how many girls have been convicted for breaking up with a guy that invested heavily on them? What law are you going to quote in court when your relationship doesn't have any legal backing? Do you know a married woman without legal marital documents wouldn't have any say in her late husband's properties if his brother's choose to challenge her for it legally in court. Are you aware that she would be denied visa by embassies despite the fact that she has been married for years with kids, cos she doesn't have any legal document backing her marital status? Let me educate you, if you like build a house for your girlfriend, and send all her siblings abroad to school...if she chooses not to marry you at the end of the day, and that house you built wasn't in your name, you've lost it and there's nothing you can do about it. The op wasn't legally married to her. This means that he doesn't have any case in court. Cos what the court would see is a romantic relationship that went sour. So stop being emotional and use your brain for once. This is why you must apply wisdom in any relationship you find yourself in. |
faithfull18:It is annoying when you help your siblings and they turn around to disrespect you because life happened to you. It has nothing to do with expecting anything in return. She's their elder sister, the least they could have done is to show her some respect regardless of her condition. Besides, courtesy demands that you reciprocate good gestures. If someone treated you well, or you benefitted directly from someone for years, and you find yourself in a position to offer help to him/her and choose not to, you've only succeeded in telling everyone that you're an ingrate. And if you should need any kind of help, believe me, no one would lift a finger to support you. |
Animegirl:What skill(s) do you have? |
You can't drive this car comfortably in Nigeria without being trailed by kidnappers. Unless of course you're a serving politician, someone like Dino Melaye wouldn't mind owning it. But I trust davido. He might just decided to shock his haters by placing an order for it. That action would definitely increase his fan base worldwide, cos every media outlet would carry it. Even if he canceles the order, he has already achieved what he wanted. A significant Increase in global popularity. If I was a celebrity, that's exactly what I would have done. I would place an order for it, even if shi shi isn't in my account. I must trend by fire. CNN would even host me. ![]() |
Odidigboigbo:You spent 2 years in prison and after your release, rather than build yourself financially, you started sending money to a girl in Nigeria whom you didn't contact for the 2 years you spent in prison...my dear you're not an intelligent person. You arrived Nigeria Penneyless and you're talking of getting her arrested, involving the Police, EFCC, ICPC, DSS...etc. Let me just advice you do you don't waste the little money you don't have on a case you're obviously going to loose. Cos involving any of the mentioned agencies would cost you. You don't have any case here. You dated her for 5 years and promised her marriage, wasted her time, then went mute. She'll claim she used the money as compensation for her time you wasted. Next time use your head. No matter how long it takes you, find your feet before attempting to bring in someone into your life. |
