Nigerians purchasing power has taken a serious hit When shop rite left 2 years ago citing diminished purchasing power, it was a sign things were going wrong. |

OP, the fact of life is that everyone pays his dues. You are starting yours, you pay your dues. That school is a stepping stone. To apply for work in a better place, you use this current school to show your past experience. To start doing wahala ontop another man's business is not worth it. If you disagree with the place, leave peacefully. See, lots of folks on this nairaland have the ability or connections to get you a better teaching offer, but the truth is that no sensible, experienced person will touch you. Why? like it or not, you will be considered as a wahala person. No place is perfect, even lekki British, Chrisland, Lagos preparatory etc, shoools where teachers are paid handsomely, some even go abroad in training. You will reach there and see something and decide to put it on social media or petition authorities, maybe start parapo, union with the staff. |

DARLINGTON869: Are you sure you have not being spiritually hypnotized to tie yourself down to the school. MY ADVICE: Continue working at the school BUT be determined and make efforts to apply elsewhere ASAP. As soon as you get a new job, leave without giving the school any notice and more importantly, make sure non of your personal properties or items is left behind in that school. Leaving without giving them any notice might sound harsh and unethical, but in order not to be victim of any scrupulous or diabolical acts by the school owner who knows you are planning on leaving, it's better to just vanish without a trace from them. SHIKENA. It is not always advisable to leave without notice or leave with obvious grievance. What if tomorrow, for what ever reason, he needs references, or his past place of work needs verification? |

OKUCHI11: ... the part where you said they will be looking for silly mistakes to deduct from the salary is very true... I taught as a part-time teacher here in DELTA STATE... for the meagre sum of 20 k ... after one month 5000 naira was deducted from my salary... when I inquired about the deduction...she made me to understand that there was a day my class was noisy and I really disciplined the children in a manner she isn't satisfied with... the last straw that broke the camels back was when a parent fought with me... for flogging her child...
instead of the school management to treat the issue in a fair manner... because I disciplined the child on the ground of him insulting me... but the school management said....
"THEY'LL RATHER LOSE A STAFF ... THAN TO LOSE A PARENT i.e customer...
na so I leave the school ooo...
I called them to pay me for the half month that I have worked... na so so story dem begin dey drop...
... TRUTH BE TOLD... ...all these mushroom private schools are really raising another generation of children based on the fact that they are in competition... especially the ones that claim to be churchy...
private school teacher are really suffering... especially those teaching the secondary schools... they'll overburden you with workloads... and they won't pay well... you will be given insults from the management; the parents and the students... You too. Henceforth, never discipline students. If you have issues with them, refer them to the principal or proprietors. Teachers have ended up in jail for lot less. |

Developed economies that have already polluted earth through their period of industrial revolutionare advocating climate issues, we are yet to go through our own stage of industrialization. We also are the ones taking along one of the highest delegation to the conference in Dubai. We are in debt, still taking more and asking for more assistance, yet living larger than our creditors. No be juju be that? They will be laughing at us ohh. Anyway, it is expected as we are not just Africans, but black Africans. |

JudasNaKarrot: Whenever I say this some nonsensical uneducated fulls call me names. I will continue to say it the way it is: The black man is an error in creation/evolution. He was never meant to be. There was a sort of mistake or genetic mutation that occurred that saw to his existence. He is very inferior race to other humans. He is unintelligent and lacks the capacity to govern himself. Wherever you see him govern, the whole structure collapses. Take for instance, ordinary business organisation like Shoprite that was taken over by the black Nigerians have collapsed. You hardly see ordinary air cooling system working. The state of South Africa is in total mess after black South African started governing. For the first time in their national life, a former president, Jacob Zuma stood trial, accused of embezzlement and corruption. Nigeria is the worse because we have all it takes to make a Caucasian state become heaven on earth but we are wicked, corrupt, nepotistic and religiously bigoted. Look around us today and see millions wallowing in extreme poverty because of bad leadership. The worse is yet to come as they have assembled again, their chief-thief is in power, so it is looting spree more than what happened in previous administration of the most useless and clueless president called Buhari. Call me names but I don't care. All I know is that the black race is inferior race and can never match the other human races. He is cursed. Oga, I wrote something similar some time back, some agreed, the usual empty proud for nothing Africans disagreed and felt insulted. I even advocated employing sucessful administrators, ex presidents of countries that have done well to run government, right to the local government level. Another was is to get Britain back, not to run as colonialist but administrators. See, we have proven we cannot make progress ruling ourselves, we are Africans and not just Africans but black Africans. Eg we are deeply tribalistic and will rather follow tribal instincts over communal progress. We will rather choose a criminal over a righteous fellow because the criminal is our brother. We cannot continue doing things the same failed way and expect good result. As Trump ones said to the anger of black Africans, show my one country doing well, they are all shit holes! Go in YouTube and watch the reaction of John Kerry towards out oga at the top when he spoke at COP Dubai few days ago. |

They have said nothing can be done, but every government after that, wants to keep reviving ! Another billions to be wasted . SMH Way back 1992, one of my profs that was involved in feasibility studies informed us of the 3 "A"s ruining Nigeria. Ajaokuta was one if them. He said the cost of steel to be produced from there will always be more expensive than imported ones. That the place was a money pit. |

If you have a business that is not doing well, do you take loans to build a new befitting office complex or take the loan to reinvest, restock, advertise etc the when the business turns around you use profits to build the new office building. These folks don't just get it, their own is to blow money, they have never made money. It is good to build house for vp, but this is the wrong time for such frivolities. We are deep in debt, taking loans every day, then using the money to build fancy house. Even our deptors will be laughing at us. Well, we are Africans, black for that matter so it is expected. |
