Nice one. These are the kind of reforms and news we need.
Let's keep our fingers crossed waiting for it to work. Why? Nigerians cannot be trusted, some officials there will "chook" even "finger" the machines so it does not work, claiming minister wasts to remove money from their mouth.
Politics › Re: Demolished Buildings Not Approved By Government – Lagos by nedekid: 4:13pm On Nov 29, 2023
If houses are built on drainage route, there is nothing wrong in Lagos state government acting.
People that build on a canal or encroach on them, deep down, they know what they are doing is wrong and may have consequences, but as usual, they say, nothing will happen.
I will always use Aminu jinadu close at iganmu industrial area as an example. One fella, a biggie came and built a warehouse right on the drainage path. Heavy flooding started. Infact, a thriving industrial area became flooded. Imagine heavy machines, generators, high voltage cables being under water. All those factories closed one by one in the late 90s throwing thousands into the unemployment market. Till date that place is heavily flooded.

Nope best decision I have ever made, 4kids n existing the 5th, 3 boys n a girl, business booming n my career is progessing well, the boys are doing very great in school and are each others competition, 2013 till date has been a blessing because that marriage reposition my focus to new goals knowing the responsibilities I got. You are making a mistake as a man if you go being 30 unmarried. Yea my first son is in jss1 and I'm just 35, my wife 30 and trust me that family i created is bonded strongly, you can't oppress anyone cos we re all coming for you including my 2yrs old daughter that believe has teddy monkey can protect us all, don't worry. I grew from the street n now I'm a top accountant where In the organization I work, I know the street well and I'm putting my kids through the rope to learn the street without going into the street. Belive me if u meet that woman and you amhave a job, go for it, no job? No problems, use your brain and work your hands to bleed that money. Marrying young is heaven when the money and trust exist, I never ever regret marrying except for the period I went on training in geneva where I regretted being married cos I was Hot as hell n wife was in Nigeria, my vows couldn't let me believe me even tho the girl that was right there was Ethiopian and was so willing.. that's my only regret so far
Nice one. Nothing as good as starting early. Mine was a little late, but I vowed 30 wount pass me. Got married at 29. Had my first pikin 3 days before age 30. Second at 34 and last at 37.
2 are in university and the last in ss 1 or 2.
Meanwhile my guy that married early, the last born just graduated last year. The first has been working for over 6 years, about to marry sef. Lol

Silentgroper:
even at 27 ..

Nah way too early...
Even 27 too early? Haba.
Nigeria is what makes people marry late. I knew back in the day an indigent student at UI ibadan, at 24, he got a job at chevron with starting salary of 10k, an un heard of amount. In 6 months the fella married his woman.
Why do I say naija is the problem? The economy and how things are set up.
A young man in the uk, at 24 is already married if he wishes to, he already has a house based on modgage, a nice brand new car on lease. He is working with skills acquired. By the time he is 27, he buys a bigger house by selling the previous one(as family has grown), he keeps paying his modgage and building his wealth through his property. Access to credit helps him.
Here in naija, you are on your own, even steady job hardly can run your expenses, to have a house, you muct cough out the whole money or pay huge rent with atleast 1 year payment.
Inshort, naija makes people advance in age before becoming men.

Lol na dis kind news dey make una dick rise. Because you couldn't explain how Lagos is Igbo land you want to support the Binis so that you can legitimise your "no man's land" rhetorics.

At the end of the day, all these talks will only make the Yorubas to be less accommodating and more politically conscious in Lagos. You accuse Yorubas of tribalism in the last election? Just wait for the 2027 election with the way things are going.

Make una carry your Benin join body in Biafra abeg.
Watin bring igbo inside this matter of benin and Lagos? It's like if some people don't drag igbo into their daily matter, their blokos wount function properly.

There is a modification going on right by my close. They have marked it twice.

The man is building a hotel in a residential area. He has extended beyond his fence.

A house was demolished in my close and two houses built in its stead. No approval. Nothing.

The fact of the matter is that we break the rules and expect that we can get away with breaking the rules indefinitely. All that is required is a strong face director with a mission to clean things up at which point you will find yourself in trouble. Relying or depending on corrupt officials (who only care about your money and not about giving you a reliable service) is not sustainable
Bros, in the 90s, that was what destroyed all the factories in Aminu jinadu close, iganmu industrial estate. One fella built a warehouse across the drainage path. The whole area became flooded once it rained. Heavy duty machines, electricity cables, generators will be flooded. That was the major reason all the factories closed shop placing thousands of people out of work.

This is not about whataboutisms. Those who have ears should hear. You dare the state, the state will bring down its weight of the law upon you.

FHA told them to stop when they were still at foundation level but they said they paid omoonile and continued building in complete disregard to the FHA directive. https://www.nairaland.com/7923242/demolitions-festac-fg-warned-land

This is Lagos state Government and FHA spending a lot of resources and time to fix the problem and at no expense to any of the violators unlike Anambra state government that imposed such expense to serve as deterrent. Perhaps Lagos State Government may soon adopt that to serve as deterrent too like Anambra.
Seems you dreamt about anambra last night.

I think it is more of wickedness, how a certain set of people supported Buhari for 8 years and those same people are now supporting Tinubu, I have taught about it and feel these were the same kind of people who kept Africa backwards (both followers and leaders) till the whites came to colonize Africa.

Wickedness is their driving force because they'll rather choose bragging rights of being in charge which they feel is more important to them than progress
Those of them that saw the means to japa, have taken off after causing misery. One of them that almost punched me ontop buhari issue, still was blowing mouth ontop jagaban matter. This same guy de Canada now, landed there about 1 month ago. We ask am why him japa, he said naija don taya am, that he sees no future his family! He is still blowing mouth from Canada ohh.

Which man is not a serial cheat? The only difference is money jare, even the calmest most loyal man, once heavy money enters his pocket, the buried traits will surface. Infact, he is even worse because after tasting Congo once, he will say "na watin I don de miss since be this?"
My area guy back in the late 90s that joined us at work. Humble faithful guy. That afternoon we went on break to eat at a nearby joint. We ordered food, this guy just bought rice with 1 meat. He was yabbing us, say how can we buy and eat this and that, just waste of money. By the time we shared money the next week, money he had never seen in his life, what he ate that day, at the same restaurant, we were shocked! Eg rice and beans, joined moi moi ontop, 10meat+ ogunfe+fish+2 eggs etc.
Woman level nko, the joints in the area, once he lands olosho will fight over him, say na their turn to follow! Niggar had permanent booking in hotel every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. Pastor like man went on rampage, infact olosho then named him toto tester. Lol

The bolded is the problem.

The example you gave with the stolen car is comparing apples to oranges

The bottom line here is, if the government officials didn't collect bribes and did their job.. those houses will not be built.

The government has a duty to protect thier citizens not to enable criminal activity.
Ok ohh. So the fact you know there is kleg, you then settle one so called official that could be posted out the next week, no receipt or approval, it then gives you the boldness to continue to pour your hard earned money into the property? That is being smart by half. The joke is on you.
Oyinbo calls it penny wise pound foolish. (pardon the quote, just a general reference and not to you personally).

Better don't go there. Borrow money from family and friends.
You want to start a business. That is the usual story. Next thing, few months down the line, you presently humble will now be the one writing here, how lapo is bothering your life, how they are heartless, they want to kill you, you will not pay them etc.
Abegi, save money, ask your relatives or friends, because I assure you, you may not be able to handle the yawa from Lapo when it starts. They are not like online money lender. For them, they will visit your house, assess your properties, you will provide guarantors they will hold if you default etc.
