Zonefree: This industry just dey favour only girls. Efe that won big brother is now selling loud in Warri while Mercy just dey buy cars like pure water.
Shell probably looked at it that the embarrassment to their expatriates staff and visitors was too much and decided to fix the place, rather we look at it as our minister working by him commissioning the refurbished place with full funfair, immigration staff doing their parade. How come we cannot fix and maintain things ourselves. Look at the concrete roads dangote built, for the next 50 years, I doubt they will break, look at the airport terminal babalakin built etc, structures that will stand the test of time. Anyway, kudos to the new minister as it appears positive things are happening under his watch. A round peg in a round hole.
tsdarkside: i dont understand either....they dont mind to risk the investments....
the same way somebody smugglin drugs knows when caught could cost him or her life....
i dont gerrit....
If this developer had managed to complete the place, it is to sell it off, take his money and move on. The helpless innocent buyer will be left to carry the cross.
Like our legislatures posit, the universities should stop irrationally rationing admission for medicine and surgery.
They keep pushing over 90 of JAMB applicants to other less relevant sciences.
Good point. My ward that wants to do medicine is currently doing some other course as the jamb requirement was outrageous, even the scores required by the school.
GboyegaD: There are many doctors looking for residency in Nigeria. Perhaps, now those without connection can get a place for residency.
That said, so that every doctor doesn't become consultant and run away, it is time to look into the earnings of doctor and try to make it favorable such that it is fair enough to make them stay. This applies to every other sector.
How much will you pay a doctor with the current inflation? Ok, place them on salaries of at least ₦5,750,000 or $5000, monthly. Still not reflective of the salaries earned abroad for doctors, but enough to allow a reasonable living in today's Nigeria.
aktolly54: you can get it and legalize it. Just be prudent man and police will give you paper work for your pistol.
Only Mr president can give a civilian permit to have a pistol. As for normal Shotgun, double barrel, one yeye IG revoked all licenses and issuance one new ones few years ago, during the time of Fulani heardsmen menace.
anonymous1759: OBIDIENTs are not the ones who love Nigeria the most , they should understand that . During GEJ before we knew APC things was going south with Money flying all over , monies meant to be saved for hard times like this ( Covid-19, fall of oil price) etc.
Nigerians reacted and wanted a change because of the love. The irregularities PDP and dysfunctional LP supporters criticized today is what PDP did when there were praising them.
The difference between PDP and APC is simple under PDP monies meant for development was going into person Pockets in parastatals, while in APC the money only flow in caucus. Which is still the same thing.
People complain ain’t doing so because of love but rather because they ain’t part of the chopping spree. Nigerians have to love Nigeria first before things can work out , we’re wicked to ourselves from top to bottom but we always deny to admit it .
Things are worse now doesn’t mean people who voted APC should be hanged all they requested for was change.
You said something about the old older ? Obi is not a new order , Someone that was part of PDP and held political office twice as a governor is also part of Nigeria’s problem .
Democracy is all about respect your people’s view And at the same time wish your country good irrespective of this situation.
A licensed gun is not ideal for country like Nigeria, first of all we don’t have an institution to punish defaulters , secondly we’re too Wicked and arrogant. A country in Europe i think Iceland doesn’t have a military I guess but they’re peaceful. If you legalize guns in Nigeria, America will be a child’s play . The idea might be ideal for violent people 😂 but as for my i don’t like Wahala live and let live. But If I wanted to be ruthless person I would be worse but it’s too late for that now I need is peace .
Anyway, those that can defend themselves will, those that cannot will be at the mercy of others. I assure you lots of Nigerians have the capacity to, but it is their private secret, if you know you know. Drove out with a paddy, had a flat Tyre, omo when he opened his booth, na sharp cutlass i first see!! Haba, howww? Him say the story na for him pikin for boarding school to cut grass, but them no need am again so he left it in his booth since then. I use side eye look am as he spoke, as if I be mugu. Maybe cutlass or ake utc is the way forward.
Kukutenla: It is obvious that a lot of people supporting LASG on this matter have never bought land in Lagos. Most lands bought in Lagos are purchased from Omo oniles or developers. Govt does not sell land to anyone. It is after you buy land and get your deed of ownership or right of ownership that you reach out to the govt land ministry for CofO or building approval. In the Old Oyo state, what late Bola Ige did was that any new area had masterplans which were easily obtainable from the town planning agency or the LG offices. So before you purchase land, you go to the LG or town planning to obtain the masterplan at little cost. There's nothing like that in Lagos. If all those zombies supporting the govt have any sense, they should put pressure on LASG to have a website where all the masterplan for Lagos is uploaded so people can have access to it and will only require the services of a surveyor to interpret it for them. All this one that after people finish building someone will come and say the place is marked for drainage is just wickedness. I watched the video and i did not see any built drainage. If it is planned, how come such info is not available until almost 50 units of houses are already built? There is huge corruption in Lagos land usage and allocation. It needs to be swept clean instead of blaming the victims or turning it to a tribal matter.
How can you build something like this without govt approval?? people dey take risk o
Most seem to be developers. They build, sharply sell to inocent buyers, take their money and walka. Certainly there is no way they can have approval to build on water ways.
anonymous1759: It gats to do with everything , what I experienced personally from the hands of OBIDIENTs pre and post election if they’d gun they would’ve attacked me .
Any little misfortune in their life they’ll tell you to your face that you caused it for supporting APC even if it’s not a government issue.
Citizens who break traffic rules , see crime as a way of life can’t handle Guns. Small cult environment in school with little , guns and axes is terrible to live in , talk less of legalizing gun in whole nations . The disadvantage outweigh the advantage.
Anyway, guess the Obidients as you call them were passionate about them wanting to do with the old order, the fact that Nigerians got poorer over that 8 years and so did not want that to continue, unfortunately, it did not work out for them hence the current dispensation. Are you aware you, I and other Nigeriams are way poorer that 9 years ago and getting poorer daily? 10 years ago, I bought 8 year old suv for $12k shipped and cleared in naija for total of approximately ₦2m. Today to buy and ship and clear such $12k suv will cost not ₦2m but atleast ₦18m if not 20m. Meanwhile, salaries, earnings has not increased in a commensurate way. Abi has it not been APC in charge for 9 years? One cannot blame anyone passionate about wanting a different direction. They lost though and move move on. Back to the topic at hand, if you had a licensed firearm and had made your attackers aware of it or even if they knew arms are legalized, I am sure they would have backed out or respected your space, knowing you have the means to defend yourself. People using America as a bad example of the problems they have with guns, why don't they see other examples of countries with firearms and have no such problems? Finland, Russia, Sweden, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and tens of other countries. Normally you need a license, background check, age limit etc.
JASONjnr: You really don't know the implications of allowing arms to go into different hands.
You might not live long enough to defend yourself.
Even my paddy that opened a large scale farm somewhere in the SW, the first thing he did was to apply for and legally acquire 2 pump action shotguns (before licenses were withdrawan) . That was his saving grace. Niggar would have been dead now. Even twice all his workers ran away due to threats from heardsmen, only him remained there. Once they raided his farm with their cattle, he was able to hold them at gun point while summoning the authorities. Got compensation. At night, he does not sleep in the farm house but rather makes a random spot in the bush so he is not ambushed. Hope you understand that was gives him the "morale" is the fact that he can protect himself through his weapon, if not those Fulani would have used him for suya.
Sangoamadioha1: Just imagine on the street you have a small argument with someone and the next thing they bring out a gun to shoot at you, even if the matter no reach gun matter. Look at the mess US is in due to allowing private ownership of guns.
Mutual respect at the end of the day. The fact you have a gun does not mean you will opress me, because I also might have a bigger one. In naija, don't people fight and use bottles, knife, wheel spanner, 4 by 4 plank etc to kill themselves? Is there any difference in how one dies? All die is die as they say. A man must have the right to defend his family.
JASONjnr: You really don't know the implications of allowing arms to go into different hands.
You might not live long enough to defend yourself.
Bros, have you ever been in a helpless situation in which you were attacked, your paddy sitting next to you had his brains blown off, out of 8 people, only you and 1 other person survived without bullet wounds. Or another late friend that they knocked on his door, made him open it and then raped women in his home. Guy, with arms, you have an option to defend yourself or go as a chicken. Important thing if that you have the option.
Na wah. The major thing I took from here is what Nigeria, especially apc has turned this country to in the last 9 years. 4.5m or less than $4300 is what a Nigerian in her 50s has as life savings. 9 years ago, 4.5m would have been $22,500, a tidy sum for a rice and beans seller. Anyone that supports apc need to have his head examined. Imagine one mugu comparing Sweden to naija in a post earlier today. Metcheeew, such money is what a 17 year old that can work and save in a year after running his expenses.
As a kid, I followed my folks to visit a landlord in the area that just lost his son to sickle cell. It was the 2nd and last child. When I saw the woman, point to the man saying she regretted ever meeting him, my jaw dropped. Today that boy would have been 52/53 years old. Thay was the first time I heard of the ailment. You are AS and meet an As? Omo run ohh..
Completely unnecessary. If the customer does not do business with you today, how sure are you he wount patronize you tomorrow. Responding to him that way is quite petty, it also gives a wrong impression of you being a bitter, entitled person.
Daddyyin: But the Swedish are not cursing their country and their leaders.
So because of this thrival news you want to compare Sweden to Nigeria? As in the Swedish are not cursing their leaders as Nigerians? Do you know the gdp per capita of Sweden is over $66k compared to a mere $2500 for Nigeria? A 17 year old in Sweden that just left secondary school and works for 1 year can afford to purchase a brand new baby Mercedes or volvo that grown men here in Nigeria will save their salaries for 50 years of work, (assuming they don't touch it), cannot buy that same baby benz a 17 year old in Sweden can afford? Even the food prisoners eat in jail in Sweden daily, a middle class Nigerian can never get the nutrition unless he goes to eat at Sheraton Ikeja crockpot buffet. Guy, leave Nigerians to curse who ever they wish to, abi you never travel "ablodd" before?
