RomanceRe: What Will You Do If Someone You Love Feels Depressed? by NegroNtns(m): 7:08am On Jul 09, 2008
wooo, savanaha, you have some good take on the topic but what is clinical depression from a chemical imbalance? Is this person black or non-black racial type? What chemical composition is missing or in excess? Please Im not being sarcastic but your comment set off a flag in my brain and I want to explore that subject of chemical imbalance and its relationship to depression some more.

@Stephen, we are all depressed at one time or another, it is human to experience mood swings and sometimes we lock into a depressed state of mind. The care for that person will depend on the root of the problem. Are they grieving over loss of a relative; is it coming from lack of emotional nurturing; is it as a result of terminal illness in a relative; is it from a spousal infidelity, you know. There are instances where reclusion will help the person to heal and come back strong and there are also instances where consistent contact and touch is what the person need to massage their soul back into reality.
RomanceRe: Book Smart Or Street Smart by NegroNtns(m): 6:33am On Jul 09, 2008
Definitely book smart! Let me handle the street, please.

I think some of the men that want street smartness in their women will change their minds if they knew the skills that qualify a woman as street smart.
I can mess around with a street smart woman at arm's length, but no I dont want one for a wife and closeup under me like that.

Qwester,

Blackberries have desktop manager that hooks up with Outlook and stores gigabytes of data. It is not needed on blackberries, but thank you for stopping by to share with us. If you have other products that is functional on blackberries, please drop by and let us know. Research it and make sure it is functional before u bring it in here. Thanks man.

KayPinchi,

Yes the phone is transferable between providers. Remember the phone is yours, you paid for it. The SIM belongs to them. Mtn removes their PAYGO SIM card, you take your phone to Celltel and they put in their postpaid SIM card and activate the full features for u. The phone's capabilities is uniform, the difference in feature accessibility is determined by the SIM.

Send me an email, I will forward to you a guy's address. He is selling a Curve, I checked it out and its good. I was going to buy it but decided to wait on the Blackberry Bold instead. Email is in my profile.

RomanceRe: Intuitions In Relationships by NegroNtns(m): 8:46am On Jul 08, 2008
Everybody is good for something.  There is no one u meet that will not impact your life.  If it's positive, your experience is enriched.  If it's negative you walk away with a lesson leanrt.  Net-net, its a gain for you personally.  When dealing with a long-term decision, use logic.  When faced with a short term decision, use intuition.  Dont shop for a life partner based on intuitive urges, use prudence.

@TOH,
If he was good enough for her before she left naija, he will still be valuable, not necessarily eligible, at a future time when their paths shall cross again. I second your point on saving the bridge for that future time. I disagree with you on using email to communicate the break. That's hiding behind a veil. She should be forthright and use the strength of her voice, with care and affection to slowly wean him over time. Your script is excellent, the media is wrong.:-)

CultureRe: What Is It With Hausa Men, Kano Especially! by NegroNtns(m): 12:23am On Jul 07, 2008
Noetic,

true statement!

Pink,

Kano is to Hausaland what Timbuktu is to the Malians. In the old trans-Saharan trade era when we had the Kingdoms and the Empires and all that stuff, Kano was a center of commerce. Even among the Northerners, Kano is envied. Another city like that is Zaria. When you talk about traditional Hausa history, thos two cities are the bedrock of their ethnic legacies.

Nonetheless, pay attention to what Noetic said.

manmustwac/Shuppie,

I believe the lady is trying to educate on something, as well as share insight on the atrocities of slavery. I have a clue where she is leading but she just need to gather the thoughts together.

Look, how many of us before leaving Nigeria knew about US slavery and civil war and MLK and all that civil rights stuff? NONE!!!. For those Nigerians and Africans still leaving in the continent and hoping one day to go to US, we need to lead their enlightenement and help them to understand the culture and background of the people they will be interacting with in USA. In a truthful way, not sugar coated with material things and hip-hop and rap.
CultureRe: Civil War Did Not End Slavery by NegroNtns(m): 10:37pm On Jul 05, 2008
Polaris,

True. In NL, on culture forum, not everyone in here is in USA or know about the subject of civil war, union and slavery in USA. So do you not think it helps to elaborate and give scope to her subject, particluarly when she claimed that she had researched on the subject. If her intention is to limit the discussion to USA residents, then no qualms. cool
CultureRe: Civil War Did Not End Slavery by NegroNtns(m): 8:35pm On Jul 05, 2008
Girl,

Your post is missing a lot of points to generate conscious feedback to the topic.  Trust me, its a nice topic and I will contribute to it.  Take a moment to step back and review your points.  Heres few hints:

Civil war - civil war where?   In Nigeria or in USA?
Slavery - from which angle?  From the black perspective, and which black?
Union - whose union?   Nigerian or USA?

Okay here we go, Thank you all for submitting questions, I will try my best to serve your needs but for some of you my answer may be unacceptable.

BlckCment,  << "I have a blackberry 8100. What services can it offer with my Glo?" >>

Answer - This is a carrier specific question.  Blackberries are capable of handling vertical services for both voice and data networking. The services that a customer gets depends on what the telecomm carrier is marketing. So that Glo may market the services different from how Mtn will market it.  They are both marketers and it is the consumer's choice to pick which marketer he/she wants blackberry service from.  Go check with what Glo has to offer.  Thanks.

HayProof,  << "Wats in a black-berry?" >>

Answer - I have a link in one of my postings above, please look in there for a link to the blackberry website.  You will be amazed.  If you are looking for global connectivity and practical functionality for personal or business coverage, blackberry is your best bet.  It is so precise in design that RIM even created a back-up network for blackberry users all over the globe to be able to communicate with one another exclusive of telecomm carrier networks. Go try it. Thanks.

Makavale,  << "I HAVE A BBERRY 8830, I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO UNLOCK IT" >>

Answer,  What are you trying to unlock?  The proprietary software, the password, the password keeper, huh
Please share more info so I can best help.  Thanks.

Javy4,  << "I have a BlackBerry 7100  and I want to activate for browsing. I have called GLO and MTN and it is the same story.  It is not their customised Blackberry brands and hence donot have activation settings for it. Is it possible to activate for browsing? I will be happy if I can get any reply. THANKS." >>

Answer,  Yes, the Blackberry browser is in the phone device already but it is not provisioned. The carriers have the access to provision and activate the browser.  It is one of the best revenue source for them.  Here is the gist of it, internet browsing is data usage, so the carriers have data plans for consumers and without subscribing to a data plan you cannot get browser activation to surf the net.  Thanks.

Abibio,  << "please how do i get to configure a blackberry manually to browse with celtel?" >>

Answer,  Look in my other blackberry post, it has instructions for using to browse on alternate carriers.  If you the apn for the carrier as well as the authentication code, yes you can.  I have no info on carrier apn or codes.  Thanks.

Dragnet, I am blind as it is, the info people provide me is what I will use to process request as I cannot see their pc or their phone. Palmy is good for the heads to function - one head in phone section, the other in romance section. grin

Boris,

You are trying to tether your phone to the pc and use it as modem for your pc to access internet. However, you are not giving adequate info but wanting magic to happen. Remember, I cannot see your pc or your phone, the more you share the better I can assist. You need to do what is called DUN - Dial-UP Networking.

Here:

On PC

1. go to START
2. Control Panel (classic view) _ please dont come back asking how do u get classic view.
3. Phone and Modem
4. Modems tab
5. Choose Blackberry (if desktop manager is already installed as u say u will see this)
6. Click on Properties
7. Click on Advanced tab
8. In Extra Initialization Strings, type the string that DonSeaun gave you for mtn in this field
9. Hit OK all the way till u get back to Control Panel.
______________________________

10. In Control Panel, look for Network Connections
11. On the left look for "Create a New Connection" and open it
12. The New Connection wizard opens
13. Click Next
14. Under Network Connection Type, select "Connect to the Internet" and click next
15. Under Getting Ready, select "Set up Connection Manually" and click next
16. Under Internet Connection, select "Connect using a Dial Up modem", click next
17. Under select a device, choose 'Blackberry modem", click next
18. Under connection name, type the name you want to call your connection, example "Bberry Tethering", click next
19. Under phone number, type *99***1#, click next
20. Under connection availability, choose 'My Use only", click next
21. Under Internet Account Information, type the info DonSeaun gave you, click next
22. Click Finish.
_____________________

23. Go to Start button
24. select Connect to and show all connections
25. Look for Bberry Tethering
26. Right mouse click and select Connect.

RomanceRe: Why Do Ladies Always Want Their Partners To Say "I Love You" by NegroNtns(m): 1:01am On Jul 05, 2008
Men don't love women. Men love life. Its only when a woman becomes life then a man will love her. Unforunately, academics have deprived women of the essence of womanhood and they have lost their mojo, now with their focus on feminism, they want men to express that love automatically. If u don't, they'll label you sexist and arrogant.
Christianity EtcRe: Only A Christian Can Be Logical by NegroNtns(m): 7:37pm On Jul 04, 2008
Pastor,

Let's start by asking " who are the Christians" ? From that definition you can then see if logic is exclusive or not to that faith.
