PoliticsRe: Igbo‘ll Toe Ojukwu’s Line If Attacks Continue, Says Anglican Bishop by NegroNtns(m): 4:30pm On Dec 31, 2011
Anglican Bishop of Enugu, Emmanuel Chukwuma, said yesterday in Awka, Anambra State, that the people of South-East will follow in the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu's footstep by declaring war again if the Federal Government fails to address the issue of Boko Haram.
So Ojukwu did declare war! Thank you Bishop.

Could the reason for boko haram MEND be the realisation of Arewa Republic a SS President? It is not farfetched.
I will help you stretch the possibilities. . . . .

Could the reason for October 1st bombing by MEND be a resolve to install GEJ on the nation? It is not farfetched.
Beaf, How does these sound to your farfetch intelligence? Mumu!! I guess thats how politics is played downcreek in the Delta.
PoliticsRe: Could This Be The Reason For Boko Haram? by NegroNtns(m): 7:53am On Dec 31, 2011
Every time I try to bring you back to ground you dodge the challenge.  So here is a start all over, talk to the issues.  ok?

Could the reason for boko haram be the realisation of Arewa Republic? It is not farfetched.
[b]There are core-Northern elite who have realised that they will never again have an iron grip over Nigeria, so they might want a breakaway Arewa that they can sit on; just like they sat on Nigeria.[/b
For those who the the core-North is just sand, they should think again, every part of Nigeria (including the core-North) is blessed with minerals and all neighbouring countries that share the Lake Chad basin have discovered oil.
It is 99% certain that there is oil in the core-North, and that could explain boko haram and why there could be method to the madness.

Even though the core-Northern elite have staunchly refused to condemn boko haram, there have been repeated calls by the very same people for govt to offer amnesty to the terrorists or to negotiate with them. This is a rather curious position, it raises the point that boko haram members are known to those making the suggestions; otherwise, who will broker the deal?
When the amnesty for the ND was tabled to Yar Adua by GEJ, he actually personally took a helicopter without security to Tompolo's den in the creeks and talked one on one with the deadly militants. Is any of the core-Northern elite willing to take such a risk, or are they willing boko haram on in the expectation that they will be rewarded with Arewa, an empire that they can milk as they milked Nigeria?

-Beaf
It's insulting to the brain and coming from you to suggest that bharam is causing mayhem to force a breakaway from Nigeria and create Arewa Republic.   In another topic on Maitatsine, you said maitatsine never left and bharam is the leftover.   Maitatsine never agitated for an Arewa country.  Noever in any of their declarations has bharam claimed it wants a country.  The Arewa leaders have never said they want an Arewa country.  If they wanted one, they have lengthy record of political achievements and knowhow, why would that responsibility of starting a society be delegated to a terrorist group?   This was the first flaw in your reasoning.

It is also dulling to project that Northerners may never sit as President again.  Where are you getting these ideas that you open topics on?

I will say it again, bharam are dissatisfied with  the way their leaders up North  have lost direction and purpose on upholding the legacies of Sardauna.  You want to understand why boko exist, the first thing will be to understand what Sardauna instituted for them as template for ruling.   Not only for ruling Nigeria but also for ruling their Emirates.  They have departed from their duties and boko has taken it upon itself to brung them back to line. . . . . it has installed intself as the renforcer for social order up there and without anyone authorizing it.  How did that happen?

They had been boiling for years and waited for opportunity to do what they are doing now.  They dont care who is in power, muslim or christian, Northerner or Southerner. . . . .    They have a opening in GEJ's government that had never been there before and they are now using it.  It is unfortunate that their struggle also serve as a magnet for other terrorists ans pirates in the regional belt who see mercenary  opportunities to enrich and as well sharpen their skills in terror - they came and joined hands with boko and the backing and reinforcement got boko intoxicated.  They are now totally out and daring.  They will kill an Emir that dare speak against them.  This is not about the South, it is about sanitizing and cleansing their own region, Arewa. . . . and there is the connection to revolution, a regional one.  YIn summaRY you can call it a small scale struggle fought with a huge scale resource and reach.   GEJ has problem.  We need someone that is callous and ruthless like IBB or OBJ to deal with boko, definitely not GEJ.   In fact, the Northerner has more to fear from boko than the rest of the regional parts of the country.
PoliticsRe: We Will Kill Again, Says Boko Haram by NegroNtns(m): 6:31am On Dec 31, 2011
He revealed that the attacks are meant to avenge the “mass killing of Muslims carried out by Christians with the connivance of government” in northern towns like Kaduna, Zonkwa, Langtang, Yelwan Shendam, Jos, Tafawa-Balewa, and Numan, as well as in Shagamu and Ikoyi, Lagos in the south. The latest of such killings, according to the group, took place a few months ago on Eid el-Fitr Day in Jos, the Plateau state capital, during which non-Muslims cannibalised the burnt corpses of victims.
GEJ, . . . oh no, I mean OBJ need to wipe em all out and christianize all the places this mad dog listed.

If national security is the responsibility of the federal government, then the President, in his profile as the CiC, has command and resource to go any where on the land that security threat might exist and weed it out. It is wrong to ask the regional government or the leaders of the region to act as CiC, that would erode the power in the center. If the expectation is on them to shut bharam down then you are in practice endowing them with the power to also create one at will if in future they see a need to hijack the central govt.

The President cannot yield his role and power to a regional elite. . . that's asking for trouble in future. The President must act presidential and get this job donw and kill of bhram.
A broadminded thinker would see the value in what I said and, may have the same question you asked below, but would still have submitted a response. What I did is called a harmonic. . . . produce higher octaves of a tune and synthesize the melody. Abstract minds will ignore the use of the wrong key and join in the resulting sweet melody and rhythym. In fact they will store the key as a new "breakthrough"!

How does any of what you have said address what you quoted?
You seem very disorientated.
As the owner of the thread and the lead participant of discussions, I would love it still if you will give a response to what I said about the CiC role.

Get your pen and paper and write this down for future use.

1. A discussion of any subject will have a theme.
2. Words and terms used in expressing ideas and opinions may expand outside the theme, this should be expected because they serve as modulators for the theme and not counter to its spirit.
3. People with strong ability to think abstractly and play with ideas are great theme modulators.
4. Awareness and breakthroughs often come through their expansive minds.

Beaf, you are too narrow in thoughts and vision that I am concluding you must be gej's blood sibling.

There are certain things that law and decorum observe as you have pointed out, and these are the things the core-Northern elite need to take on board. Getting boko haram to bomb innocent souls will not neither win elections, nor will it transfer power. In fact, it is a cold blooded tactic that has ensured revulsion from the rest of the country as well as the dead certainty they will not get into Aso Rock in the near future and possibly never ever again.

No we are not against the call.  We do not act impulsively on political issues with this much weight on it.  You will get responses as time goes and people have had time to talk and share.  The horse goes before the cart, not the other way around.

Personally I would like that West recall its NASS members to vacate government in protest and return home.  If the President cannot command power at the center, then the regions. . . ehm, excuse me,. . . West should reconstitue its own power on the soil. Onward march back to Ibadan, the seat of Oodua govt.

Beaf, am I sickening you again. , ehn, am I getting under your skin?

Use your brain and give us a concise analysis . . . a meaningful one, of the reason why BH is fighting.  This is what your topic started out on. , so now, lead the discussion.  We are tired of your Buhari is behind it bs, we are tired of your Akande crap. . . connect the dots and share what the President, not Buhari or Northern elites, . . . .  but the President and his cabinet is doing to curb the problem.  If you can do that successfully without calling people names or picking fights like you are a b-tch, then you will earn credibility and respect here.

Your idiocy has been crowned by people that fell for your merry-go-round grammar to nowhere, they think you have good analytical command.  I am here to expose your shallow understanding of the subject matter you are pushing.   Just as we need good leaders, we also need good analysts, not mediocre theorists that talk, talk and talk and can't deliver solution.
PoliticsRe: Could This Be The Reason For Boko Haram? by NegroNtns(m): 4:18am On Dec 31, 2011
The question on everyones lips has always been about what exactly boko haram is fighting for. Today, right here on NL, a top core-Northern politician has told us. Thank you
Man, get away from your belligerent emotional ecstacy.  You post good topics and then kill it off with poor analysis.  When corrected you panic, you should not wear your emotions on your sleeves you know.  You want to have political command but you are posting topics in which your understanding is at best at entry level.  Maybe you should create topics on subjects you have deep understanding on. . . .national politics is not one of them.
PoliticsRe: Could This Be The Reason For Boko Haram? by NegroNtns(m): 4:09am On Dec 31, 2011
The cancer which has been eating up Nigeria is corruption perfected by PDP and the political elite in our country. These elite come from every part of the country, North, east, west, and South. Now GEJ had a wonderful opportunity to write his name in history, in golden ink, by organizing the best election in our history but he chose to break his own promise, run for the high office, and broke the gentleman's agreement that has held our fragile democracy together for many years. To make matters worse, he blatantly rigged the election further insulting our intelligence.

GEJ and his handlers are now faced with BH, a force they are incapable of dealing with.  BH indeed enjoys the support of the masses since the group is the only one which seems to be fighting for them. I'm afraid that we are only 2 or 3 bombings away from a situation where Nigerians will demand that the millitary takes over because of the inability of GEJ's government to deal with the security problem.

The time has come to send the irresponsible elites among us who continue to wickedly loot with impunity and take actions and inactions which result to the deaths of thousands of Nigerians, to permanent exile, one way or the other.
I believe the brim on that hat has created some blindspots and resulted in limited vision.  To those that want their tribe person to rule Nigeria, first make sure your kinman has the gut and the command to rule this country.  This is a shame on all Easterners who put their weight and gold behind this looser.
PoliticsRe: Could This Be The Reason For Boko Haram? by NegroNtns(m): 1:34am On Dec 31, 2011
@post,

No, that is not their objective.  Boko Haram has many elements in it and their core objective is not to regain control of power and sit on it.  There is both a religious and political statement in their fight and it is directed at Arewa itself, not the entire Nigeria.   It is unfortunate that Southereners, along with Northerners are dying in it. . . . .   There would be no Southern casualty if the Southerners were not living there.   This is their revolution, they are not revolting for Nigeria. . . they are revolting for Arewa.  West had the same type political revolutions in past and hence the name Wild West!

When disgruntled and aggrieved elements rise up against authority and demand change or forcefully drive the change then you have a revolt, whether or not it covers the entire Nation or is just limited to a region.

Their revolution is against the liberal elements but it has been hijacked by opportunist and turned into a widespread and indiscriminate terror.  Let us all also understand that Al Qaeda is infiltrated into the group and cells exist.  For one AQ will never put uneducated dummies in the field, it employs intelligence in its operations.  The Christmas day massacre was executed by someone smart (educated) and local to the area (a cell).  We continue to think and look for image of almajiri but we need to broaden the scope and our understanding of what is going on and embrace a total reality, instead of pushing the same prejudice over and over.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Fears Of Sectarian War Deepen After Islamic School Attack by NegroNtns(m): 3:16am On Dec 30, 2011
To find Boko Haram’s rather broad objective is to translate its name from the Arabic phrase (jama’atu ahlis sunna lidda’awati wal-jihad) which simply means “Western education is a sin” and when localised to the local Hausa language, takes the form of “Boko Haram”.
It is very important that we correctly define and give value to the meaning of the bold. Jama'atu means society or congregation of people, sunna means tradition, lidda'awati means to project or to continue a teaching and we all know what jihad means. Put together the bold means a society fighting to continue the holy traditions of a leader. There is nothing in here that says Western or Education is a sin. Some elements in the North who are against western education hijacked the society's creed and changed it crudely to Hausa and called it boko haram. Boko means western education and haram means sin.

So how did we get from "people engaged in war to push their teacher's ideology" to "western education is a sin"? There are two camps, one hijacked the other and the two are now fused. They can be separated and defeated. Divide and conquer is still a very viable political tool even in this age.

always differentiate between politics and national issues.

According to Gulak, “And when national issues are on the front burner, all hands must be on deck to see to it that the issues are resolved positively to get this country forward.
Gulak does not understand his role as the special adviser on political matters. At the end of the day, national issues in Nigeria are political issues! To succeed politically, Gulak ought to be working the wings building coalitions with the opposition to repair his boss' political image. . . not confronting and distancing the opposition.

Whereas in the Yoruba culture no one has dared to make an image of OLODUMARE.
Word! grin

I never looked at it that way when it comes to the diversity of religion in Yorubaland, and when it comes to keeping the balance but I highly doubt a mass conversion of Yoruba Muslims to Ifa after the revelation of the Quran, some may convert to Ifa but most wouldn't; majority of Muslims tend to be a little stubborn when it comes to that in regards to religion.
Well, in planning and sustaining a balanced society, the primary ingredient is diversity. Currently, we exist as a foreigner in sovereignty with other foreigners and we all are living under the burden of a foreign political legacy practicing foreign world religions. If Nigeria dissolves and Yoruba is idnependent, there will be a push to return to a Yoruba philosophy. We will at that time face many challenges in the social order, diversity. . . . . whether of religion, population, economy or politics will be a big headache!

That is the challenge they should be rising up to,
watsup with this new culture. . . this jingo of Yoruba Muslim, Yoruba Christian? a Yoruba is Yoruba, period! In a political environment, such as we currently experiencing in the country with Boko, we respond politically under the YORUBA umbrella.

To focus on your intent, no, Yoruba should not mediate peace. We have done that severally in the past and it has not led the nation anywhere. Get a conference together to re-negotiate the sovereignty. That will calm everyone down.
