Ignorance kills. Please, what did our Messiah Jesus Christ say about preaching the Good News. He said leave if they reject you. They gave you three days to leave and you ignored their warning.
Oriki, what are you talking about. . . . grin Uwazuruike told them not to go anywhere, to stay put and ignore the ultimatum.
PoliticsRe: Seun Osewa, Would You Be Interested In Political Office (nass)? by NegroNtns(op): 6:54am On Jan 06, 2012
I'm not likeable. There's no way in hell that I could ever get elected into any sort of political office.
Seun, I like your response! Like Ola said, your challenge becomes a catalyst for success. Would you mind working with a team to outfit you for a office? You do not change but the electorate will be made to change; they will begin to view "likeable" with suspicion, a vanity that everyone will be persuaded to dissociate from. Likeable becomes keyword for describing your competitors.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Sharia Or Militant Wing Of Northern Politicians? by NegroNtns(m): 8:21pm On Jan 05, 2012
Please, let's calm down and assess situations for what they truly are. By this argument, assuming you believe in it, you are also concluding that GEJ was brought in office and forced on the people by the actions of MEND serving as the militant arm of SS.

I wish you guys would think clearly through the political interpretations of your assertions. Before you make such a bold statement, let's first consider the irreparable damage it would do to Gej if the accusation was rebounded from the North.

The press should not have an unlimited and un-gated access to any cabinet minister in any regime. Saharareporters' call should have gone through the secretary or her adviser on public relations.

the resolve you all witness exhibited here for good civic duty is the same source stream from which Kanawa (Kano citizens) take resilience to jihad front.  in a way, this is also jihad to them but i dont hear anyone criticising Islam now.  We are educated in South but we lack depth and knowledge.
PoliticsRe: President Goodluck Jonathan Called An Emergency Meeting Of His Cabinet by NegroNtns(m): 4:03am On Jan 05, 2012
“By removing the subsidy abruptly, instead of phasing it in with a price band, for example, and by failing to prepare popular opinion, Jonathan has introduced the right reform at the wrong time and in the wrong way,” Ashley Elliot, an Africa analyst at London-based Control Risks, said in an e-mailed response to questions.

PoliticsRe: Ogun Wades Into Yoruba/ Fulani Killings by NegroNtns(m): 3:48am On Jan 05, 2012
Okay this is what a commentator said:

DanielJustice

This is an attempt to claim land in Yorubaland, and must be resisted with MAXIMUM FORCE. There is definitely a campaign by the Fulani for more territory in Nigeria, and they are going about it in a very direct fashion. They had better start packing out of Yorubaland. If the Yorubas know what's good for them, they'll send them packing now, or else these people will claim their land and become the "indigenes" as they're doing in Nassarrawa, Benue and Plateau states now!!! Yoruba, shine your eyes. Hopefully, you people are not silly enough to think that these are just a few angry herdsmen. THIS IS A CAREFULLY PLANNED WAR FOR TERRITORY, AND THEY ARE COUNTING ON THE STUPIDITY OF NIGERIANS FOR ITS SUCCESS.
I agree.

He asked that a particular portion of land be earmarked as grazing zone, stressing that “if we do that no herdsman should be found grazing outside the zone.”
. . . . and if they fight for more territory what should be done then, yield more land huh This suegbe need to be fired from govt work and sent to Maiduguri.

Ma, on the 7th of February, 2010, at the 5th Annual the Future Awards, Nigerian youths were gathered and you revealed to us something we didn’t know about ourselves. The Nigerian youth comprises 70 percent of the Nigerian population. Our mouths opened and could not close and we listened with rapt attention as if we are sharing some earth-shattering discovery. You automatically became our Hero, and we almost worshipped you. You became the father, the mother, and the much-needed mentor we never had. You gave us identity; you told us that Nigerians belongs to us, and not just to the 30percent.

Volasunjan, I agree with you that if they are going to heed Owazuruike"s call to stay put, then they should at least send their family down to village. That way when problem start, exiting will be easy and casualty is minimized.

My Igbo brothers and sisters, abeg o. . . I be Yoruba and I want you to listen to your leader but do the wise thing. Send your pikins and them mama home now, if you want follow go with them good but if you decide to stay then all is not lost if wahala happen.

Why are you Yoruba's such coward's and spread false information? Listen intoto, most of the people that are killed in the North are Southerners(mostly yoruba's and others) because they are too afraid to fight back and defend themselves. You wanna know why? Because your folks prefer to live amongst uneducated Hausa's in their domain, since the rent is very very very cheap in these places. We igbo's build our own houses and have our own community- an Igbo man could live in his community for decades without even understanding the Hausa language;that is to show you how we fend for ourselves. We don't live in ugbo ndu-ugwu(meaning Hausa community) as we like to refer to them in the North. So, whenever there is riot of some sort, it doesn't affect us. Your folks are mostly the victims because you deceive yourself in believing that You and the Hausa's are ONE. I called that Utter illusion because they hate you people with passion(and call you Fake Muslims) and respect the Igbo man because he is Brave and does not tolerate NONSENSE.

Stop talking what you don't know about from a distant. I have lived the experience,so I know
Yoruba was never a target until Igbo started masquerading as Yoruba. WWe know Igbos that went got Yoruba face mark to avoid Hausa nmassacre. When Hausa found out and it became difficult to identify who was who they made a blanket decision to kill every Southerner.

PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Protests: Government To Shut Down Blackberry Services by NegroNtns(m): 5:35am On Jan 03, 2012
They can shut down the network but they cannot shut down the blackberry services.

To BB owners, you can still communicate with other BB owners if you know their PIN number.

To get your PIN number go to your desktop (where you see all the icons. This will differ depending on what theme you have active). Look for an icon called options (spanner or wrench symbol). Go in there and look for "status". Go in status and get your PIN.

Also, if they shut down the network your bluetooth will likely quit. Let me know I will tell you how to turn it back on without service.
PoliticsRe: Silencing Beaf And Company by NegroNtns(m): 1:26am On Jan 03, 2012
@post,

Beaf and his swamp brothers have many id s, if you ignore them on one they go out change into different masquerade outfit and get your attention on the rebounce.  I never had problem with his "farfetched" political analysis until recently when he started attacking West.  I am a staunch, die-hard Oodua warrior, I will demolish anyone that dare to think Yoruba is a fair game for his/her imagination.

Frosbel, The highest authority on the land is the consitution, not the president.  The president himself is accountable and roped in by the constitution.  Our President does not respect the constitution. . . he is not patriotic to the people he rules.  Respect of the Presidency is a duty on the citizen, but the respect of the President is not so. . . . .this person occupying the Presidency need to start acting and speaking regal if he wants respect.

For many decades Nigerians attributed the incompetence of our presidents and heads of state to lack of academic excellence.  Here we have a phd holder and he is no better than the ones in our past that we condemned.  What should we attribute GEJ's incompetence to?

U guys complaining about GEJ may need to visit where Gej comes from and see what it is like and how the pple there think.
Through our interaction with Beaf and the swamp boys we can see how politics is played downcreek in Delta.  They bomb their way into relevance, like bokoharam.

PoliticsRe: State Of Emergency: Jonathan Still Chasing Shadows - ACN by NegroNtns(m): 2:47am On Jan 02, 2012
Some of the things you said above, I agree to and support. There is a point I disagree with.

Calling on the Presidency to talk to a group making demands that can't be granted is very disgraceful. They want to impose an Islamic State. Is this country going to accept that or not? So what is the basis of these talks
We are locked into a belief that in negotiation we must concede to the opponents demand. It's a wrong perception! Negotiation does not have to lead to concessions. . . .it is an avenue through which voices are heard, emotions are released and understanding is obtained. If concessions are necessary and are made, then good. . . if demands are unreasonable and cannot be granted then there should not be a concession.

They want to impose islamic state. Fine, thats what they say want. What does the government want? Negotiators are there to represent govt and press what govt wants, not to get there and yield to what boko wants. The talks can bring about ceasefire and a better understanding on both sides from which an appreciation for one another can evolve. Through that evolution, a normalcy can be reinstated.

PoliticsRe: State Of Emergency: Jonathan Still Chasing Shadows - ACN by NegroNtns(m): 1:42am On Jan 02, 2012
In advanced democracies opposition parties do not only criticise, they do have actual policies. i.e. stating clearly what you would have done differently if they were in power so that the people know. They can either do this as a responsible opposition or remain silent. Critisicing for the sake of it is not enough.
In those advanced democracies their CiC would have crushed boko and the opinion and service of the opposition would not have mattered.

When you go into negotiations with someone you do so on the premise that you know there are things you can agree on with the other party. Boko Haram has stated clearly in the media what they are fighting for. ACN is urging the Government to negotiate. ACN has a duty to tell the public what concessions they are willing to make to Boko Haram if they were in Government. This is not sublating responsibility of Government rather this is about being a responsible opposition and an alternative Government.
Boko haram is not an authority. . . it is a voice, therefore its opinion can be discounted and subordinated by that of the authority. You dont go into a negotiation to discuss issues on the terms of a terrorist. . . . you listen to them amd empathize with their situation and commit to address it through the heir cooperation but really the baselines are your own ideas and interests. You bring them around to your baseline, instead of going to their baseline. . . you are the authority!

ACN should say which of Boko Haram demands they will concede to had they been in power amongst:
Strict implementation of sharia
abolition of wetern education
abolition of the Nation's constitution
Prevention of young girls from going to school

which is these demands is ACN willing to concede to?
I like to know?
Strict implementation of sharia. . . they already have that nothing to concede or negotiate. If its not working then we need to get recommendation of the ainstitution and scholars responsible for sharia to review and report.

Abolition of western education. . . . share with them the value of education. If Sardauna was not educated he would not have been the great man he was, if Tafawa Balewa was not educated he would not have been a leader. There has never been any northernr that ruled this country that did not have western education.

Boko has not asked for these other two, these are just your own flavors you added to sweeten your argument.

But understand, there is not a hard line for how to go in a negotiation but there is a shift that can be expected from the spirit of involvement.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Cities In Lockdown After Emergency Decree by NegroNtns(m): 1:24am On Jan 02, 2012
Negotiation is a very realistic solution to these kind of issues.  By negotiation we mean that as a component of the total counter-force to defeat boko.   Usually when disgruntled elements complain, their grievance is tabled as a generic.  The real issue of the complaint is specific and hidden within.  When you begin to talk and consult to understand the grievance then revelations come out on why they are dissatisfied and this root cause is what need to be remedied.  You need people who are grounded in this field and can penetrate beneath the surface to grab at the real reason for discord and discontent.
PoliticsRe: New Year Messages: I Won't Be Distracted - Johnathan. by NegroNtns(m): 1:08am On Jan 02, 2012
We have, with the astute and diligent implementation of the amnesty programme, fully restored peace to the Niger Delta and boosted the production and export of crude oil, which had plunged to record lows in the dark days of militant agitation in the region.
We have also fully re-established our standing as a very important member of the international community.
Sadly, and very regrettably, however, 2011 also witnessed continuing national security challenges, the most worrisome being the spate of mindless terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of many of our people.
As we enter a new year, I wish to reassure Nigerians that my administration will neither be distracted nor deterred from the effective implementation of its agenda for national growth and development by present challenges.
We shall vigorously confront and defeat the menace of terrorism in our country and work with our friends in the international community to eliminate this new threat to global peace and security.
The President should not have put these two together in the same speech. This is bad judgement.

October 1st bombing was not for oil, it was clearly terrorist assault and with MEND signature on it. GEJ should start sounding presidential. I know he has the title but so far since ascending the throne he has not demonstrated regality.
PoliticsRe: State Of Emergency: Jonathan Still Chasing Shadows - ACN by NegroNtns(m): 12:50am On Jan 02, 2012
Mikeansy,

ACN is not in power and are not obligated to do anything. But if you believe otherwise, then pass word to GEJ to delegate his Presidential authority to ACN so people who know what to do can step in and get resolution.

ACN is talking sense in what they ask the President to do. State of emergency is unecessary for this issue. . . .GEJ needs negotiators and he needs strong line of command on the assault front. ACN has people very efficient and with proven record for negotiating interests and they are on standby to get on it when the CiC approach them for assist.
