You know I rarely give link on anything if its widely available. I give keyword! Use "Yoruba and Atlantis" to search resource. There is a fiction by Charles Brokaw. . . . Atlantis Code. This is supposed to parallel works such as DaVinci Code. In fact author gives some Vatican related conspiracy that releasing the truth will finish off the Church as a global authority. It's hard to give that any credibility being a fiction, but then one must wonder why the two indigenous works that talk extensively about and track the origins of Yorubas were suppressed and destroyed from circulation. obviously, there was an amalgamation of influences which gave rise to traditional yorubaland before the european conquest. No doubt! By European conquest I take it that you mean colonization, right? If Frobenius, in his stereotyped mind that only Europe had nobility of high social order and philosophy, could even admit to that much credit accorded the Yoruba civilization, though of a small scale relative to the totality, then you can imagine how much influence and value would have resulted if he had spoken to the truth objectively and unbiased. What they silenced in Samuel Johnson and Bello in 1800s, they are revisiting in 2000s for more revelations, not just about the Negro but even about their own perspective in the Cosmos. |
http://eden-saga.com/en/3740-atlantis-american-empire-back-to-europe-etrusque-africa-yoruba-country.html Etrusceans were themselves an outgrowth of Egyptian influence. Yoruba is a hybrid of the many AfroAsiatic cultures who I call influx elites and a small residual of the aboriginal natives. You recall, Tpia, the discussion between Debo and I on Obatala being a reference of the consciousness to a historical link with Atlantis and that this had to be the Phoenician element in us. There is a comment in Jospeh Campbell's book - The Hero of a Thousand Faces - where a Greek or Roman ruler had the ambition of routing the sea Northward to the Irish coast and Cornwall - or some place like that - or Southward around the Senegal to Yorubaland. I don't have the book at moment but if I get it I will give the quote. I attended, as an audience, a lecture of Middle Eastern scholars not too long ago in which they discussed "The People of The Books" - that is the people of monotheistic faith and scriptures. One of the participants mentioned seeing Yoruba arts and after reading up on the history and some books is led to believe without any doubt that Yorubas are Sabeans. There is something about the Yoruba race in terms of human evolution and civilization that refuses to be silenced. In the 1800s, Ifa attached itself to the slaves to America and spread the Yoruba divinity. In this century, it seems our arts and classics are attaching themselves to the Europeans to find their own voice and recognition and proper place in the timeline of human enlightenement and knowledge. |
Gowon is who we in the West revere and thank for his magnanimity and generosity in the Awo release. We don't accord such reverence or noble view to Ojukwu, Ironsi or Zik at all. Ibos jailed Awo but that middle belt man brought him out and restored him. Not just Awo, but as well Chief Enahoro. Uptil today Ibos have not seek forgiveness from the Mid-Westerners for what tehy did to Enahoro. You all owe Gowon a big Thank You for his altruism and sense of brotherhood to declare no victor, no vanquished. . . . . .there was a victor! |
Maybe because an Igbo interviewed him that's why it's hard to believeNo, the interviwee himself had lost credibility long long time ago and never earned it back. Nothing from him is anymore believable. This is his account, there are many independent and witnesses accounts that are opposite of his recall and what truly happened. |
Katz, I dey good my brother, long time! A thought just came to mind. . . . .maybe this is better left alone till after Ikemba's body has been buried. This fool called Bashr will make me say things that should be swalowed in respect for a departed soul. Bashr, I will catch ya a s s some other time. His life has been a struggle but Emeka should rest in peace now. |
By bringing Emeka's interview online to portray him as a ational figure is adverse to his legacy. . . . .all it demonstrates is a dark, moronic and frantic soul. You do him a great favor, particulaly in death by sealing his interviews or at least review and certify them "heroic-proof" before making them public. |
Ojukwu did not release Awo. Ojukwu was still under command from Lagos and executed the release order from Gowon. If Ojukwu had release Awo against instructions from Lagos, then why was Awo appointed by Gowon as Minister? If the FG's desire was for Awo to remain i lock up, then when he arrived home he would have been rearrested, or in fact Awo would have told Ojukwu to keep him in East and out of FG's reach. Ojukwu has always seen himself as the playbook hero! Nothing fulfills him more than to be the hero in any situation. Twisting historical facts to acquire heroic status. He is hero to you, he is a villain to us in West. He cant save Ibo but he is always wanting to save Yoruba. What an insane fella! |
Bashr, who cares what he stops or encourages in the coup? He is narrating why the coup was carried out by Ibos. . . and the insane Oxford graduate says to install Awo. What a slowpoke!! It is becoming a pattern in all his interviews that every cause Emeka was involved in was to benefit the Yoruba. He fought the war and massacred people Westward so he could save Yorubaland, but yet he had plans to annexe Lagos. He sent Banjo to Ibadan so he could install Banjo as Leader of a liberated Yorubaland, but yet he put a bullet in Banjo and killed him. Over 40 lives were taken so Ibos could install Awo a President but yet they instead installed a junior officer, Ironsi as Head of State over his Yoruba superior. You all need to tell that story to the Hausas and remove Yoruba and fill the blanks with Hausaland and Aminu Kano instead of Awo. Deluded morons!! |
First these amenities were there in good condition and it attracted all these mofos to abandon their papa land to seek refuge in Lagos. They had no sense of appreciation or of aesthetic value and leaves everything they touch in a deplorable state. Now we have a government that is striving to restore the aesthetics and improve quality of life. Yet, they have bad belle to question why Fashola could not make it available to every refugee. You need a free housing? Go ask your governor to get you one. Eko-Ile, light fire under their ungrateful a s s ! ![]() |
Whoever released this interview I am nost sure Ojukwu will forgive them. This goes to show that Ojukwu in his lifetime was very deluded and quite ungrounded in political savviness. How can you go on a killing rampage so that you can istall a selected person as President? How is that a consolation or a fix for whatever needed to be replaced in the soured political landscape? I think they need to seal Ojukwu's interviews, the more they release the more evidence show up of his state of insanity. |
Dim, RIP! |
Obiagu, Guess what? If Uthman Dan Fodio sydrome catches o i West Ibos will be a double victim because now we will have religious riots in West as well ad guess who will be at the ed of the stick? Do you hope for that? |
Nevertheless, to get more evidence of this particular Yoruba census taboo’s roots we would have to look at the Israel and the Bible as the Yoruba people are thought in some quarters to be descendants of Israel.Yoruba, generally, did not descend from Israel. Some members of the commonwealth descended from Israel. However, Yoruba itself was a fraternal member of semitic family, which Israel is also a member of. |
Depends on which was invented first, the crown isignia or the lighthouse, will determine which was a copy of the other. You can find that out for us ad share. In visual arts you can call that a medallion but in custom rituals that's a sun disk. As an integral part of the lighthouse . . . . .hold on, now I'm talking like you! Let me re-phrase.The upright object is symbolic of life. Life as an infinite and life as a finite. You were right in saying it looks like a lighthouse, it is actually a torch or a candle with a flame sitting at the crest of it. Then the shaft of the torch/candle has a rope or chain wound round it. Let me breakdown the parts and talk about each: flame, chain, disk. Flame - at the creation of life an energy is produced. That energy is the fire element. The fire of creation is infinite, it never ends but the life produced by it is itself finite. It is an attribute of GOD as the all powerful infinite source of a powerless and dependent life. In that flame, it also symbolizes that we are one with GOD. Chain - there are two chains - invincible chains - connected with the human form. This is the one at the crown chakra. It is a communication tunnell between the individual and the human consciousness. No one of us can touch GOD or talk to him directly. But in order to have contact with GOD we must go through the human consciousness, we must pass through this tunnel. What is in the tunnel? Several gates of consciousness. Each level of cosciousness is a test of character and enlightenement. Each successive gate is harder to pass through than the one before it. The person that gets through the sixth gate has already mastered the ego and he is one with humanity. He has mastered pain ad sorrow and nothing in this life bothers or pertubs him/her. He/she has knowledge where none else can reach. This interpretation is in many verses of Ifa. Disk - the solar system. The bio-rhythym is controlled by the solar system. Living in harmony with the natural rhythym of nature prolongs health and life aand completes the manifestation of man as a dominant being over nature. There is actually many cults built on this oe knowledge alone. Also farming, fishing, hunting, cultural festivals, and may other social activities of makind is built on the balace of the solar system. Calculation of time as well as seasons and the cycle of reproduction, both i humans ad aimals is all dependent o the solar system. |
You are still living the Ojukwu brand i every aspect of your social interaction ad inter-tribal relations. Hence you continue to be the victim, 40yrs after the war. Get a new brand and end the cycle - for the sake of your women and their children. Not for the sake of your false ego of bravery. Bravery has not safeguarded the women and babies agaist attacks ad threats but your humility will. |
If this is true, then it is the way of the world.Eze, very Good response!! People love Chinese. They put their horses before the wagon!! They have a brand - very formidable but also very humble. What is the Ibo brand? This is not the first time you have heard me ask this question. Ibos need a new brand that make people love you. Have you not heard Negro say this before? |
Copy copy, black man has no independent mind to do anything without looking to European as a model. Europe is banning hijab and now Nigerians think they must do that also. A family has the right to serve as the moral compass for their children. If a family decides hijab for their daughter, no one has the right to say otherwise. Would you ask nuns to take off their head scarf? CAN has no moral leadership to tell Muslims in West what to wear or not. Can you imagine if Northerners say every woman in North must wear hijab or leave? Is that acceptable? |
Before Ibos, West had been a thriving center of trade and commerce. Ijebus, Ijeshas, Igbominas, Oros, Tapas, Hausas, . . . . Ibadan was the largest metropolis in sub-saharan Africa. Ilorin was a major exchange center. Ad these were traders in genuine and authentic measures and articles, not fake and sub-standard products. Everywhere Ibo steps foot the noble codes and protocols of inter-exchange and commerce that were installed and been in practice by the local people are disrespected and trampled. This is one reason people detest your presence in their midst. You talk about expertise in trade but your philosophy of trading in sub-standard products is incompatible with that of others. To you its great, to others it's a nuisance. |
I notice that in NL when one person lead an attack, a host of timid voices suddenly find the courage to come out and join suit with the attack. Kobo, I need your response to my whole comment, not portion of it. If I answer you it will address a line of others that I predict will soon join in to attack me. Mr Brown, I agree, crime is crime, whether at the low level or high level of society. Law can be used to correct a behavioral trend or to incent one. This law is intended to correct the behavior of landlords, not the criminal. Apartment prices will adjust to the market rate if the index driving it is tagged to verifiable source of income. So people with verifiable income can afford homes at a rate that is in scale with their lifestyle. The crime of violation has nothing to do with income but if a despoiler live in an apartment building he becomes a terror because he can use violence as well to get what he wants. We eed to clean our communities. Apartment in Nigeria is not like apartment abroad. An apartment dweller in Europe or America has no obligation or sense of idetity with other dwellers. In Nigeria cohabitation promotes sense of identity and true communal support. The moral code and protocol that balances that sense of belonging must be promoted. A criminal has already violated the code ad protocol and has no place i it, in fact he is a threat to the safety. The landlord owes his tenants the duty of sustainig that balance. This law changes the landlord's vision i that regard. |
Of course they can get to other parts of West Africa without passing through Yorubaland. You go through Hausaland or you fly back ad forth or board the ship at Port Harcourt and go over the waters. This started with my caution to Ibos not to repeat Ojukwu mistake and put their wagons before the horses. In the interest of erecting a Biafran nation, before you leave Nigeria it is is best to formulate good relationships with those you will need in future for sustainability of your trades and busiess through their territories. You don't leave a job and make enemy of your boss if you know you might need him at a later time. You leave bridges intact that you are coming back to use. If as Nigerians you cannot relate in goodwill with your neighbours, as Biafrans, you still will not have the goodwill towards them. Forget your pride of bravery, Ojukwu lied to you, it is false that you can fight and dominate over aybody. Humble yourself and face forward for the sake of your women and children ad their future. I hope 40yrs from now you are no longer a casualty of any region. Yoruba cannot change that for you, Hausa cannot change that for you. Your fate is in your hand to chage your own future so that the cycle of victimization end soon. Yoruba is not a target of victimization in North but because we cohabit with Ibos in Sabon Gari, when clashes erupt we end up collateral as victims. Some Yorubas try to stay in their own enclave separate from Ibos but soon the Ibos drift there because they see it as a secure abode to shelter and safeguard against violence. Yorubas welcome them and give the shelter but the you fools come here and speak ill of the same people that put their heads and lives in line of battle to protect you against danger and call them cowards. You are the cowards for runnig to find shelter in their eclave May God punish everyone of you! |
It is a good law. He is not talking about petty crimes like shoplifting. . . . he is talkig about heavy crimes such as robbery, abduction, serial rape, scams. It is the responsibility of the landlord to check ad vouch the character of the tenants. A landlord should not rent home to a criminal that is risk to other tenats and commuity. This law sends a message to the ladlords. The root of the problem is deeper than what you guys see. There are landlords that are refusing to rent home to worthy applicants, instead they rent to people of dubious background who readily can afford the jacked up rent. They never bother to ask where the guy get the money to afford his lifestyle. Honest and moral characters are homeless and criminals are sheltered. Thats a wrong way for any community to live. I like the law ad you should too, unless you support renting apartment to a armed robber while a person with honest income is living uder the bridge or squatting with friends. |
I still stand by my statement, Ibos need West and North more than the two need Ibo. West Africa is a major market and Yorubaland is the gateway along the savannah and the coast. Hausaland is the gateway along the savanah ad the arid areas ito West Africa. Central Africa is not as buoyant a market as West Africa is. Besides Cameroon is ot as welcoming and tolerant of Ibo as Yoruba or Hausa is. You are ladlocked!! To the person that say we eed you i West, you are fool. West was a paradise for Odua children until your people flocked in like refugees escaping an inhabitable land to come live in West ad destroy West. You will be good riddace the day you decide to pack up and go. We can go back to re-developing our urban lifestyles and metropolis in the vision of our fore fathers and with modernity of amenities and technologies. I hope you all vex and just leave West. |
You can deny your brothers that are being killed in the North but we Igbos won't. In Kaduna, the one I witnessed, Yorubas were the majority of people massacred and after the crises, they were complaining that Igbos did not protect them; but who told them to live among Northerners? We have checked and cross-checked these vague numbers you all throw out and debunked your claims many times over here. You all like to swell ad reduce numbers to suit the purpose of your arguments and not necessarily to present truth. Ibo remais the major casualty in regional conflicts. In North, Northereners kill Igbo, Yoruba ad eve their own Hausa/Fulain but Igbo remain in higher proportion of casualty than the rest. In West our clashes are usually politically motivated, we don't have religious riots. In our political turmoils it is directed at our ow factios ad Yoruba remai the higher casualty. Once in a while when Ibos or Hausas trespass beyond their allowed boudaries on our land we respond with action. In those cases Ibos have trespassed far more than Hausas and hence out of the two they are higher casualties. So you should take a second look at your propaganda aalysis ad redo your casualty ratio by tribe. We are talking about orth - regioal - you are listig village by village icidences, you have o shame. |
And you think YOU can survive the boycott?so then business smartness should dictate that your business is better in places where you ad your family have security and freedom than in North where you are constantly chased off your property and suffer loss of lives and goods. So then where is the wisdom? Are you wise or foolish? |
You know, there is even that feeling amongst whites about this. There is a bit of resentment towards the chicken runners, because they didn't have the faith in SA to stay. However, I am glad that people are bringing needed skills back into the country that can create even more opportunity for all of us. Apart from that I never liked the idea of so many South Africans spread across the world. Especially Afrikaner people, because of that part of our history where about 25 000 men where forcibly send away from here by the English. But even if it were other races I would still feel the same. I just feel that we are all a part of one another at the end of the day and I want us all to live in peace together.sa_lassie, it is clear, from your comments, that you are either of mixed parentage or you are not black. I know how it must feel from your outlook at the new arrangements. There is a good reason white Americans are suspicious and will not hand power over to a descendant of slave i this country. They fear the reprisal. The one who hurts the soul of another empowers them with an enduring and fearsome power. As we speak, there are many many residuals of divisions ad racist treatments against blacks all over the world. There are treasures stolen from Africa that are still held by Europeans. If you truly want to be a soldier for justice ad uity, fight that cause to restore dignity to the humanity of black victims still in shackles of white dominace in places like Australia, America, before you you call for Blacks to to embrace and share space with Whites. Whites reluctantly gave up in South Africa due too international pressure not because they had sympathy for their black citizens. |
stop gloating dude, just stop it. MUST YOU REMIND THEM of the experience. Na wa oThey are FOOLS for forgetting by contiously, year after year repeating the same dumb ritual. Then they want to talk about they value lives. Yes indeed, you do!! |
Im still waiting Jason to hear your followup. |
Make una carry go. You don't value your own lives. We value ours. Who is the fool?40yrs later, Igbo is still the major casualty of regional clashes. Post 1970, you have lost in North alone almost half as much what you lost in the war. So where is the value you put in your life? |
What is all these trash? Igbos should depend on you and the North?Jason, calm down and be objective. Their trade and business today depends on markets in North ad West. does it not? Compared to how well they fare in East, more than half of Biafra external earnings come from investments in North and West. Is this true or not? |
Stop repeating the mistake of Ojukwu, who put all Biafran wagons in front of the steeds. Learn from your past and humble yourself. You are at a great disadvantage when it comes to competing with North and West. Learn from the Yoruba character - learn to weigh options, know when to fight and when to make peace. Learn when is good to raise hell and when to make compromise. Sometimes you swallow insults because of the future of your women and your children, not because you are weak and cant fight but because you are wise and have the opponent in the palm of your hands. |
There is a sign i all of this for my Igbo brothers who have continously advocated for Biafra to seceed. If as an integral member and citizen of Nigeria your business and lifelihood is occassionally handicapped in the North due to religious differences, what makes you think it will be better when you are a foreigner to Nigeria? Moreso, if the success of your business depend on the Northern market, then even as a Biafran that dependence will not change. You face two options (1) becoming a surbordinated Biafran for the sake of earning a living in Nigeria and (2) completely foregoing the North and depending on Yoruba to open its market and access into the rest of West Coast of Africa. In either of the two cases, you are already putting your wagon before the horses by antagonizing the same people without whom Biafran trade will stagnate and die off. There is nothing to your East, your life source is Northward and Westward, everyone know this. |
The invention of the lighthouse might have taken root from Ife art, who kows? There was a book photograph posted by TC of a partly ruined structure with the subject sitting on a high chair and the foot rested on a stool. I want you all to take a good look at that elaborate installation, does it not look like a toilet seat? There is a pipe routed in-between the subject's legs going up in a curled line and the other end of it is coupled to the seat pillar forming what look like a drainage system. Is that right or did I see too much into it? |
