my mama has vowed she will not come to my house again because of the disrespect she receives from my wife whenever she comes around, my mama rarely comes to my house. but, my wives siblings are very welcome. they can stay for as long as they want, one has been living with us for the past 3 years. clothing and schooling on me. but my mama is not welcome in my house.

They should continue their stupid aluta spirit and prolong their stay in school. A situation where employers are looking for 25years old graduate with 10years experience. Instead of them to resort to dialogue and continue with their already obsolete academic curriculum calendar, they are busy rioting. Them go old for school.

As a final year student, my colleague in Lautech did election, two parties claimed victory in the said election which led to destruction of school properties.
School get locked up for weeks, ASUU went on strike, its been 2months and still counting. our graduation is no longer feasible this year.

Just food for thought to those who think rioting is the best solution to any problems confronting students and school management. Just know at the end of the day, you and I are the victims.

My two cents.
Without sacrifice no meaningful progress can be made.

Your choice of words is very wrong. There are other ways to have said it instead of threatening with divorce.
Secondly I don't think it's okay to verbally and indirectly make it known to your wife that your mother is more important that her.
You can think it but never say it in any form
She is not yet a wife.

Satisfy me in bed everyday or I divorce you.

Don't be surprised, we have seen girlfriends not wife

pek:
Op, from someone old enough to be your father, I say grow up. You don't have a right to go threatening people unnecessarily; especially your future partner. If eventually you get married to her, she will live in constant fear. I won't want that for my daughter and I don't think any man will.
I actually respect the OP for saying his mind, because the fiancee now

There are those who don't say anything before marriage but unleash venom on their
partner once "they cross the line. At least the girlfriend now knows the type of

Very sound statement and I full agree. We have nothing to gain from the IMF
bjdon:
I am not a Buhari supporter, but I am with him 100% on this.

Nobody can show me one third world country that has developed by following IMF/World Bank prescriptions. People need to understand that these organizations simply act to enslave third world nations for the good of their western financial masters. We have everything that is required for a prosperous nation(Natural resources, fertile land, educated population) all we need is a serious focused govt to put in place the right polices so that all these attributes can come together for economic growth. We do not need the IMF/World Bank
Granted , no country is under any obligation to follow IMF's advice since they
can't be trusted.

But what I found appalling is the tendency of African leaders to blame
foreign agents for all their woes and the citizens get distracted from
asking the right questions.

Countries such as China and Singapore who were able to pull out of
the poverty mess didn't do so by showing how anti-IMF they are in
seminars but by sitting down at home and thinking and implementing
economically-positive programs.

Did you read this post at all ? If you did, you would understand that I only differentiate what it is to mean by tribalism and what is not but usually and erroneously referred to as tribalism.
I read the post, your attempt to differentiate tribalism from its negative effects
is your limited understanding of what tribalism is.

Let me help you with some definitions.

1. Tribalism : the state or fact of being organized in a tribe or tribes.
2. Tribalism : the behaviour and attitudes that stem from strong loyalty to one's own tribe or social group.

3. Tribalism : loyalty to a tribe or other social group especially when combined with strong negative feelings
for people outside the group.

I believe you are only aware of definition number one, that is why you think tribalism is
different from tribal discrimination. Tribalism has several meanings like other english words,
hence there is no point using only one meaning to explain the phenomenon.

Certainly, you like the whole majority of Nigerians don't understand the meaning of tribalism, always confusing tribalism with what doesn't relate to it in any context, I hereby summon my alter-ego 'ghostofsparta' to come enlighten you.
Playing with words doesn't change anything, I don't see any practical point in trying to differentiate between
tribalism and tribal discrimination when it is clear to all that the discrimination itself stems from tribalism.

If I do not focus on what makes me different from you, why will I hate you ?

So back to my question. Does truth matter to you? why?
Unfortunately for you, people who claim to "have moral code
do cheat, lie defraud and commit atrocities and guess what, they
believe they are saved because they have jesus not because they
are better behaved than other humans.

Now ask yourself why would a sinner claim to have a moral code ?

1.Taking away religion won't make humans get along better either. One of the aims of religion is to unite us, but it has not been able to totally achieve that aim, I've seen Christians divided among themselves also with Muslims, Remove religion and disunity will only grow worse.

2. Not when we have so many great researchers, scientists, thinkers who were religious, for Christians we have; Charles Barbbage, William Hershel, Gregor Mendel, Michael faraday etc, and for muslims we have ibn sina, ibn buttuta,, al battani and so on.

3. The only excuse for not being prosperous as a nation or as an individual is laziness not religion. The richest man in the history of America, John D Rockerfella was a religious man. Saudi Arabia as a nation is very religious yet very prosperous. As you can see Sir, religion is not an excuse at all.

4..Religion came with the message of hope. whether this hope is imaginary or fictional as you call it, one thing it does, is that it promises of a life of joy happiness and assurance. I've tried imagining a world without religion all i could see is a hopeless world, without restraint, without assurance. Sincerely there is a lot to loose if religion is taken away. peace
To your first point , it would be myopic for anyone to think religion can ever unite every human
on earth, even if all of us becomes christian or muslims, there would still be ideological
differences which will can be used to stir chaos and unrest because nature has creative ways
of promoting diversity.

Religion as a means of unity was useful only in segmented groups in those days because
there was little contact except through wars between groups and even then most tribal
groups at the time past do not want strangers to adopt their believe as they see it as
their distinct identity which must not be corrupted by invaders.

Religion may unite a group of community but not a larger world.

Your post concerning jesus does not make sense at all, people attack jesus because He perform miracle ? This statement is like a little boy who continuously cry unless his toy is return to him. Did you not read where jesus say, if they believe you of my report, dust your feet and go ? Believe in jesus or not, its none of my business, I'm only doing my time, preaching the word to whoever that will believe.
I never said Einstein is an atheist did I ?

However, I for one does not see any practical difference between a man
who says god doesn't exists and the one who claims that god is dead(deism) and
am sure neither qualifies for jesus's "salvation" or am I wrong ?.

What I don't understand is if you are trying to separate jesus from god.

People don't attack Jesus( he is long dead) because he is jesus they attack
him because of the false claims attached to his stories,
virgin birth, resurrection, "miracles", heaven/hell. There is a huge difference
between personal and ideological attacks.

BTW, the little boy who continuously cry would be the preacher that is intent on forcing
his ridiculous beliefs on others through repetition of the same unproven mantras.

You can't make an arbitrary claim and expect everyone to say "yes it must true",
I guess you already know that from experience.

You see when a fish seller continuously knocks on my door to tell me how his fish
is the best in the world, it is my right to say whether the fish is rotten, good or
bad not the seller with no intent of offence. If you view things this way you will
understand why the "attacks" on jesus claims are a normal reaction.

you are right, But for what I observe,Albert Einstein equation of relativity, imply the universe has a beginning, einstein does not like this idea, he thought one would have to conclude that the universe was created by God. So he expend the equation and fail, he say " this is one of my worst mistake"

So, Einstein became a deist - a believer in an impersonal creator God:

"I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals
himself in the orderly harmony of what
exists, not in a God who concerns himself
with fates and actions of human beings."

Just as you're putting Einstein in the camp of atheism, others people do the same thing. Einstein complain bitterly for putting him in the same camp of atheism:

"I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can
call myself a pantheist. We are in the
position of a little child entering a huge
library filled with books in many languages.
The child knows someone must have written
those books. It does not know how. It does
not understand the languages in which they
are written. The child dimly suspects a
mysterious order in the arrangements of
the books, but doesn't know what it is. That,
it seems to me, is the attitude of even the
most intelligent human being toward God."

http://www.deism.com/einstein.htm

When ask about jesus and the Gospel, this is what he say :

"You accept the historical existence of Jesus?"
"Unquestionably! No one can read the Gospels
without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life."
https://intellectualfroglegs.com/einstein-jesus/

Unlike atheist here on naraland, Einstein had a Great respect in jesus, many forum I have visit, I have never seen forum attack jesus soo much like nairalnad. Nigerian atheist are something els. They mention jesus (the man they hate) 90% in every bad word that comes out from their mouth, but they forget their is a man call muhammed. Hadmirrow hopefullandlord henn seun just name them.
I do not consider eintein an authority on god , in fact no
such undisputable authority exists.
On your einstein quote, you are also guilty of what you accused others of
that is selective quoting.

Here are some Einsten's view which are often left out by
the "Einstein is not an atheist crew" of course he is not
but neither is he a theist.

Einstein stated: "I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one. You may call me an agnostic, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being."

"Your question [about God] is the most difficult in the world. It is not a question I can answer simply with yes or no. I am not an Atheist. I do not know if I can define myself as a Pantheist. The problem involved is too vast for our limited minds. May I not reply with a parable? The human mind, no matter how highly trained, cannot grasp the universe. We are in the position of a little child, entering a huge library whose walls are covered to the ceiling with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written those books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books, a mysterious order, which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of the human mind, even the greatest and most cultured, toward God. We see a universe marvelously arranged, obeying certain laws, but we understand the laws only dimly. Our limited minds cannot grasp the mysterious force that sways the constellations. I am fascinated by Spinoza's Pantheism. I admire even more his contributions to modern thought. Spinoza is the greatest of modern philosophers, because he is the first philosopher who deals with the soul and the body as one, not as two separate things."

"A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty, which are only accessible to our reason in their most elementary forms—it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man."

It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.

"The idea of a personal God is quite alien to me and seems even naïve."
Your Jesus attacks theory is misrepresented, people don't attack jesus based
on his personality or most of his views but in context of performing fictitious
miracles and his claim of being god, hence he can be held responsible for
anything god did since they are supposedly one and the same.

When you present Jesus as a god who perform awe inspiring feats, he gets
attacked like any other god, but when presented as an enlightened character
of his time, he gets the same respect that others such as Confucius and Socrates gets.
Nothing more nothing less.
