Inasmuch as I don't support domestic violence, I think your Friend is weak for that type of woman. Honestly, she got married to the WRONG man, meanwhile her 'TYPE' full everywhere for Lagos. There are MEN this woman would be married to, I give her only 1 month, she dey like ICE-WATER. .NET |

Deeper Life has really changed o and I thank God for them. I was born in this Church. My father was a State Pastor in charge of the then Imo State (consisting of Imo, Abia & parts of Ebonyi). My mom was one Choir girl that time. I'm talking of early 1980s. Kumuyis were very close to us then, maybe 'cos of Popsi's position in the church. When they got married, they were not allowed to take pictures. Momsi told me she wore one skirt and blouse (you know the type that has 'gada' at the loin area...lol). She was not permitted to wear Wedding Gown. She also said Popsi wore just Shirt+Tie, Trouser and Sandals (I think that would considered weird by today's Fashion Standards). He was by policy not allowed to wear Suit (especially since he was the State Pastor). Even his friends were not allowed to take pictures on that wedding day - cos pictures were seen as 'Worldliness' - hahahaha. We had enough money to buy a TV then (even if say na Black+White sef), but we couldnt because of the fear of suspension or even expulsion from the church. It (TV) was usually called "The Devil's Box". Years later after we left Deeper, one day I saw a Suit in my popsi's wardrobe, the first thought I had was that he had backsliden...hahahaha. I am happy to see John Kumuyi's wedding in good colour (we used to be friends as kids - oh those days!). His wedding pictures are a clear departure from the primitive doctrines of the 1980s that we observed with utmost reverence n Deeper Life. even up till now, my momsi no dey perm her hair. She still carry the Deeper Life mentality (even though we left Deeper in 1987). However, one thing is certain about the Kumuyis and Deeper Life. They don't compromise about sin o. If you meddle with sin (no matter how small), they will tell you to your face o - that one I confirm am. If you refuse to repent, mehn, na expulsion o. - no be joke o. That man is truly a man of God. I was a kid then, but I know his strong stance on wrongdoing. Even my Parents dey respect (abi na fear sef) the guy called Kumuyi. The man no be Prosperity Preacher o - unlike some new breed people (I no call anybody name o). .NET |

Hilaskee: What a life! A life well spent!! Done and Gone!!! The Sweet Sleep!!!! Our mouth is closed as the Iroko tree falls...Our eyes are winking at the library that has burnt down...Our feet is speaking to the great pass away... Our fingers is now learning the ways of the Hero...When tommorrow comes with her riddles; when we can no longer hear the voice of the teacher; when things fall apart and the center can no longer hold; when the ways of man becomes the ways of the ant; when we blame the kite and also blame the chicken; when people begin to gather in the moonlight because of the moon; when people now gather because of hunger; when things is no longer at ease because brother now fear brother; when the lizard can no longer praise and pride in his acrobatic skills; when the young cow now refuses to watch how the mother-cow chews the grass; when the sun begins to rise from the West and sets at the East; when the South wind begins to blow from the North; when we cross over the river to listen to the wisdom of our Hero...only for the Angel to tell us that our Hero is in his paradise with his Maker...What a life? The tree that dances yesterday dies tommorrow; the river that sings today dries tommorrow...Is is true that Chinua Achebe is no more? Is it true that the father of the pen has left his book? Is it true that the Eagle in the Iroko have left his throne? Chinua Achebe is dead? What a life! A life well spent!! Done and Gone!!! ~ By Hillary OparaoduCould they be typos? |
redocean: You are so narrow minded that you only care about the price of beans. A Governor is truly trying to engage the youths which will have a ripple effect in the economy if successful and your here talking of beans.Guy, take it easy nau. Where's your sense of humour? .NET |
ACN is my party, but I'm terribly ashamed to associate myself with this post by Oga Lai Mohammed. Everyone knows what BH stands for and I think most of us are happy with the declaration of the State of Emergency. Wetin this man dey talk na? .NET |
This may not be a reason to fret after all o. Some peeps are just like that. However, on a very serious note, if she fails to be with you on your 'special' day, you might then have a reason to fret. My advice: Just call your friends for the birthday and celebrate with them. Behave as if you don't care whether she comes or not. Let her hear it from someone else that you had a lil Birthday bash and maybe your friends probe her on her absence on that day. Watch her reaction afterwards. That will tell you what to do - whether to dump her or still hang on with her. .NET |

afangide: how does that fit in here?Guy, read that post by tai2. It explains everything about Feminine Psychology (especially as it relates to Relationships, Sex, et al). If all men read and understood Tai's position, we would have less wussies in the society today. .NET |

Permit me to derail this thread a little. I don't know if I am the only one who noticed this, but it is a thing of joy that the focus of this thread has not been shifted to a tribal war. In the past, threads like this would within minutes evoke an e-war between Igbo and Yoruba people. But this one has not - and I pray it does not. Nairaland is indeed changing for the better. Shout out to SurveyProf, Airemon, r231, frawzey, Odunnu & Seun who have maintained the focus of this thread. .NET PS: Has the woman been apprehended yet? |
This OP reminds me of one of my friends who (in any argument) will never ever welcome any point contrary to his own view - even when he knows he's wrong. I advise everybody here to shun this debate and let's move on to better things. You will NEVER win this guy. Mr KennedyIheneme (as your name implies "Something dey Happen" , please you have won the debate. Congratulations on your victory!OK, talking about more important things: abeg, which day Manchester United dey play Real Madrid at Old Trafford (2nd leg Champions League) .NET |
I', just noticing this thread now. Anyway, I seldom visit sections like Business, so how would I know? I honestly wish this woman refunds the money she owes Aeromon. I doubt if she understands the enormity of the scandal she has brought upon herself. .NET |
What is Soyinka doing sef? What can Fashola do about it? If he truly wants something to come out of this protest, he should go to the house of Reps and Senate - not Fashola. Like someone said, it's like Reporting the Principal to the Class Prefect. Nigeria is bigger than Lagos. And for those bringing Achebe into the equation, I don't see how it adds up. .NET |
I'll reserve my comments until I see the final pictures of the Roads i.e after "Reconstruction" .NET |

Sky-walker:I'm collaborating with SAP & maybe Microsoft. Based on their policies, they don't sell ERP directly to users. Instead, they refer the end-user to their agents (which i can become very soon). I am allowed to charge as much as I deem fit. I just pay a certain amount for each client. Plus, they also give me a certain percentage of the amount I remit to them if I reach an agreed milestone in the number of clients and Revenue generated for them. On the Bandwidth issue, we intend to get two channels of 20mbps Fibre connection. Fortunately, the office we're taking soon is close to the POP of a good, reliable Fibre Internet company. powerblaze: Cloud its great as a ' 3D' storage server.. Though i'd think you should just rent a huge space from corporate cloud firms like google, and be a reseller.. Or something like that.. Also, rather than just store files, why not add something more dynamic, like a software solution with back end cloud support.. Like an, sql server on the cloud.. Pm me.. We could work out somethingBro, that's where I think the ERP thing comes in. The application is already developed. Don't have to crack my head for that. All I need to do is sell to the people who need it. .NET More questions and criticisms are welcome. I wanna be sure I've plugged all the holes, before I venture into this thing. |
Chief06: you are wasting both time and money . Cloud with the cloud based in Nigeria? Sorry, but you're setting yourself up for failure. google Drive, Box, the box, amazon cloud are too big too be beaten by a startup with one server, in epileptic power supply in Nigeriaok. about the competition with Amazon and Google, I don't think that will be a problem for me o. I will offer something different (at least in the early stage) - ERP cloud Hosting. SAP seems to be the most popular in this Country, so I am talking with them on how this can be achieved. On the issue of Power, we are talking Engineers to design and install good-quality Solar Panels with Inverters. Please tell me other areas that I might fail. Thank you bros. .NET sarutobi: Well said. .NET must have been watching too many Sci fi blockbusters ![]() |
I am building a business model on Enterprise Cloud Computing. A Cloud site where clients and businesses can store files in a server and use at will. But first, I want to start by re-selling ERP applications like SAP to Businesses (at a cheaper rate) on the Cloud through my site. I'll be buying the servers from Dell by October this year(mehn, these machines are really expensive o). We intend to kick off Cloud operations by January 2014. Please feel free to ask me questions about this. Also analyse what I've described and tell me the pitfalls to avoid. .NET |
