She should have used her savings to apply for the green card herself instead of waiting for her hubby to pay for it.

They clearly have communication problems (unless you guys are not telling the whole truth).

If she already spent all her savings, then she can ask her parents to loan her the money.

She really needs to talk to her hubby about the future of their marriage.
FamilyRe: Married People In The House. Please Help by Neverquit(f): 3:59am On Jul 13, 2016
Let me be realistic...the possibility of finding couples (from this site) that will sign up is very low. The reason is the security level in naija. With all the cases of kidnappers and ritualist...people are extra careful in trusting strangers.

The best way to start is through friends and family. Or announce through the marriage department in your church/mosque. So testimonies from them will serve as reviews. So you can then grow and expand through word of mouth.

Last point: your moniker @ Freaknasty does not inspire confidence. Makes me feel that the retreat might be a type of òrgy. Packaging/branding is key.

See...I was right. He is being abused by his teachers. Imagine beating a 3.5 year old child...utter rubbish.

Rather sad that we don't have early childhood educators in Nigeria...when a child fails to fit into the traditional roles, the next thing is to flog him.

You can do a video recording of him reciting the poems and counting to show the school's head. Did you mention the marks on his body to the school's head? If they are still being ignorant, please and please change his school.

Omotakins:
That's y I cried out. I believe the teacher has roles to play. My wife once called my attention to some mark on his back. It looked like he was caned. I will do as suggested before considering changing school. This can really be frustrating

Mehn, I was about to type that story. That story was very sad...imagine

DevGuru, if you insist about staying with her, be prepared to sleep with one eye opened for the rest of your life. Personally, I won't be in an environment where I'm not at peace...I guess that's how we're different.

Sometimes God deliver our enemies into our hands so that we can FLEE.

Side note: the incident happened in Ib.

uchedydy:
@ Devguru, my brother,

Am happy u have taken your decision.

But befor i rest my cae on this, plz let me remind of of a story of a man in lagos, Yewande Oyediran , married to lowo oyediran, lived together in lagos, the woman was aggresive and the man kept ignoring it, more like a good man, the woman works with dpp as a lawyer.

One day after a querel, she gave the husband bruises and rushed to call the police fro the man, after the arrest, the man came back in the evening, NEIGHBOURS TOLD HIM NOT TO SLEEP IN THE HOUSE THAT NIGHT, HE REFUSED, SAYING THAT ITS OKAY NOW. That same night, the woman stabbed him on the throat. The case is presently in the court. and the man is dead.

Truth is , when u allow a woman to beg you and cry, ur emotions would roll, plz put ur emotions in check and act like a man.

I want u alive tomoro, cos with this story? this marrige isnt gonna be the same again.

Thats my tot. sorry if its offensive but am very real and direct.

So what's the point? Runs babe sef dey marry better husband. So again what's the point?

Ladies, live your life to the fullest. And don't regret your choices. If you want to be good, be good...and if you want to be bad, be bad...girls that stay in between get hurt.

There are certain things one should not do in the bid to satisfy ones partner...
1) Urinating inside you lipsrsealed shocked...
2) Anàl...
3) ?

The above is detrimental to your health. If he likes let him go outside to get those unhealthy kinks. Because if una get the disease, he will MOST definitely leave you.

Seeing the school head might not change anything because they tend to cover for each other.

The best thing to do is try to coax the truth out of your son. If all fails, install a spy camera (or place voice recorder) in his bag or pockets.

From the info you provided, the problem is from the school. If you are unable to find out the truth, please change his school. If the behavior persists, then see a child psychologist or behavioral therapist.

Omotakins:
Hmmmmmmnnn........the teacher might be the issue. Anyway, I'm seeing the school head tomorrow.
HealthRe: UPDATE :There s no ERROR on the man who almost Died From A 'prescription Error' by Neverquit(f): 5:45pm On Jul 10, 2016
undecided

If the prescription was from a doctor, she should have called that Dr to ask about changing it to a different one. If the Dr had refused, then she could have decided not to fill the prescription.

On the other hand, if it was self-medication, then she should have asked about his allergies, conditions etc. If she had done that, she would have avoided all the ish.

Medical professionals should all work as one team. Don't let arrogance make you kill people. Drs too make mistakes and should be willing to accept correction(s). If Demilade was not from a prominent family, he could have died and that Pharmacist would have continued to kill more people. So his situation helped to bring awareness. Hopefully, people will do due diligence before taking any drug.
HealthRe: You Are Not Doctors! Nigerian Man Who Nearly Died From Error Blasts Pharmacists by Neverquit(f): 9:35pm On Jul 09, 2016
They share the blame equally.

The pharmacist for changing the prescription without asking the necessary questions (e.g. Do you have any allergies etc) and Demilade for the blind trust.

Next time, dear pharmacist, ask before prescribing or changing people's prescription(s). The advice above should also be applied by doctors.
EducationRe: What Really Is The Responsibility Of A Lesson Teacher As Against A Class Teacher by Neverquit(f): 3:05pm On Jul 09, 2016
You are 100% right. Growing up, I was an average student. I never had a lesson teacher. My parents figured that what I learnt in school was enough. So, I played instead. The only tutor I had was a music tutor because I showed interest in playing the keyboard. In senior secondary school, I was first in the subjects that I liked. In college, I graduated with a 4.0 cpga.

Point is balance is extremely important. Let the child(ren) study hard, and play hard, and rest well. The brain needs to be stimulated with non-academic stimulant.

Akshow:
Mist parents get it wrong. They think reading and over reading is the sign of seriousness and academic growth. The brain needs rest. Students go to school fromm seven till four, (plus school extra lessons). Lesson teacher cones by six till right and this is repeated at least five times a week. Parents think they are helping their children but don't know they are actually killing them as too much of mental stress is exhausting and counter productive
FamilyRe: The Nigerian House-help Mentality by Neverquit(f): 10:14pm On Jul 08, 2016
*Fist bump*

darkenedrebel:
Nigerians treat religion like Smorgasbord: the Scandinavian mode of feeding where the table is full of a variety of food and where you are required to choose what you would like to eat and leave the rest.

Nigerian Christians and Moslems do precisely that. We choose the portions of our holy books that vaguely appear to justify our wrongdoings or that are appealing to us then shunt aside the rest that do not in any way appeal to us. Don't be taken aback if a Nigerian man justifies his adulterous ways by instancing when Sarah gave Abraham her consent to test-run Hagar's vaginal engines. grin

Well, as OP rightly said, the golden rule of 'treat others in the same way as you would like to be treated' is the sum and substance of all religions.
FamilyRe: My Wife's Siblings Are Breaking Us Apart And I'm Mad Right Now by Neverquit(f):
DevGuru, out of curiosity, did you tell her not to tell her sisters about you finding out?

That aside, you are truly a matured man. To still forgive after everything? Wow! Peeps have killed each other for less offense.

To reiterate some points:
- Make multiple copies of the recordings (store in multiple places).
- Ask your wife how you might have offended her to warrant that action.
- Take your wife on a vacation to start the healing process.
- Sleep with one eye opened.

Also, you have to be able to discern whether your wife is remorseful of what she did or because she was found out. Those two scenarios differ greatly.

You still have a lot of work to do. You need to dig deep to find out WHY so as not to end up dead or gravely injured. Because, for a group of people (especially ones wife) to have that much hatred towards you for no apparent reason(s), then DevGuru, you need to WATCH and PRAY.
FamilyRe: The Nigerian House-help Mentality by Neverquit(f): 4:13pm On Jul 08, 2016
Thumbs up.

You wrote the bitter truth. It truly amazes me how parents will shabbily treat their help but expect that help to be good to their children. When that help turns to the monster they molded, they will start shouting up and down.

Nigerians are the most religious people in the world (if not, then really high up on the list). But majority are hypocritical. The 'slave' will help in cooking, but they will give her/him spoilt food to eat etc.

Parents, show love and care especially to those entrusted to care for your child(ren). Out of every 1 evil act (by the maid) that is exposed, hundreds (if not thousands) go undetected. A word is enough for the wise.

2) He cheated without using protection and possibly contracting several types of diseases and/or generational curses/oaths.
3) He got her pregnant...congratulation

So, you (lordkhalifa) are encouraging someone to do abortion? Like Coco said, can you marry someone that had abortion(s)? So una want her womb to spoil finish?

I will never understand the logic that you have to club and get drunk before you can 'catch' fun. Don't you know alcohol impairs your thinking skills?

One important question: if your in-law can travel often, why is his wife not there with him?

Go and confess your sins to your sister.

It never cease to amaze me how peeps treat their maids like dirt. The same person that will take care of your children. Is that wise? When the maid retaliates, they will start shouting devil up and down.

Yes it can be better but, the maid looks good though when compared to most 'slaves' in Naija.
FamilyRe: My Baby Eats Too Much. by Neverquit(f):
Ask your wife to express milk (if she's not already doing so) to measure how much milk she's producing per feed. If less than the recommended amount, then her milk production has to increase (a gradual process) or supplement with formula or local baby food. The main ish is for your child to get all needed nutrients.

When my sis had her baby, she didn't produce enough milk for the first 2 or 3 weeks. The baby was losing more weight than normal. When she expressed, the quantity was very small. The poor child was just sucking and sucking with very little coming out. So she constantly used electric pump and gave her child formula. After the milk production increased (overflowing sef), she stopped the formula and did exclusive for the next 6 months. She continued bf after 6months, but she introduced solids (in puree form).

@ Yomieluv, suggest to wiffie to supplement with formula (or local baby food) pending the time her milk production matches or exceeds ogas demand.

Point is, babies are different. Listen to your baby and body.

Yomieluv:
My newly born baby can suck all day. As in non stop.

Wife said we get baby food to augment breast milk, but my doctor said no baby formula now, till at least three month.
Am confused. I need suggestions, and advice on what to do.
My boy is just 13days old.

FamilyRe: Pls Advice On Best Action To Take by Neverquit(f): 3:37am On Jul 05, 2016
opizu, some tenants can be evil. Why did you even allow him to stay 6 months past due? Anyway, lock his room, give him a month's grace to pay all outstanding bills. Failure to do so, sell whatever he left behind to cover some of his debt. Unfortunately, the rest will be bad debt. Try to install prepaid meter(s) to avoid stories that touch.

My advice to present and future landlords/ladies: send an official letter/notice one month to expiration of rent asking if the tenant will move out or renew the rent. If renewal, collect your rent immediately the rent expires, if otherwise, start to look for new tenants.
FamilyRe: Is There Anything Wrong For A Woman To Give A Man Money To Pay Her Bride Price? by Neverquit(f):
No, women should not pay their own dowries/bride prices.

If the guy is low on funds, he should save until he has more than enough or he should negotiate with bride's family or not marry from hungry/greedy family.

If they are not hungry people, you can buy fruits.

Or, you can ask your lady for her parents' preferences.

What if he had pushed/kicked the 'ghost', or hit 'the ghost' hard will something? That fiancée na karishika.

Don't see it that way Bro.
Not everyone here is calling for your head.
Trust me, her prank could cost her a scar if I was the one cos I will use an object on that ghost and not be frightened like you.
Well it has happened this way, don't give up. Also, don't hold on for too long. If this week runs out and she doesn't accept, omo have a drink with your friends and life moves on.
There is nothing to be ashamed of.

Guy,

Free your mind. Stop having guity conscience. It could even be a blessing in disguise grin.

My philosophy is if I do something to someone, I should be ready to accept full measure, pressed down, and running over back grin.

sumborri:
Many things I have read here has opened my eyes to something. Life is truly unfair. I have never ever pranked a lady before and don't really like that shit. She did it first and it really broke me down. Yet she has blamed me, her mum has blamed me, her friends have blamed me, many here have blamed me and yet till today she still hasn't come to terms with forgiving me. Well in life one must learn to bear some shame and walk away.

Since its all my fault as responses here have shown, nobody wants to see that she pranked me first and that the prank I did wasn't even my idea. I will accept the blames and abuses and move on with my life. Many may not realise it but what if I saw a weapon dat night and I killed her, I will be in jail now still blamed by everyone.

This is why I don't do pranks, yet my first prank cost me this much. Losing someone hurts and sure this hurts me, but enough of me feeling bad about myself. It happened, I am the only agressor, she is the victim. No wahala since this is how the world works. Have learnt a big lesson. Thanks
RomanceRe: I Just Lost My Fiancee To A Bad Prank Gone Wrong...women Are Selfish by Neverquit(f):
Lol

@ sumborri, what kin play be that? undecided

You are both at fault. Your fiancée takes the bigger blame though.

You could have died...what if you hit your head when you fell (after losing consciousness)? lipsrsealed undecided. Now she dey vex because she was paid back in her own coin...

This just shows the dynamics of your relationship/marriage. She will expect you to always forgive her (whenever she errs), but will find it difficult to forgive you...

Start to ignore her (maybe the attention is making her head 'swell'), if she does not reach out, then start to think about moving on...

Hubby and I even made a pact about not playing life threatening (expensive) pranks/jokes on each other to avoid stories that touch.
