The Coal City Queen,I guess,is preparing herself politically for Enugu state governorship contest someday.Although married to Ojukwu from Nnewi, Anambra state; she has lived most of her life in Enugu.Her brother GB,(the only former city mayor in Nigeria)was erroneously expected to fit into his father's shoes. As an Ada,she is loved and admired in the state.Her father loved the state with all his life and soul. Will Bianca fly APGA's flag for governorship election in Enugu state in 2015,or later?

Benin-City to Enugu is about 260km,Enugu to Aninri (Agwu area)LGA, is about 35-40km.If the tank capacity is 70ltrs,then that Nissan's fuel consumption is about 15ltrs per 100km - and that makes you happy? So much for Japanese cars fuel efficiency? Thank God i never really like Japanese vehicles! Often bored driving one.

How do you determine that enugu governor works when he only concentrate on urban area only, what about the places I mentioned earlier? here it is again (Awgu, Nkanu, Nsukka, Ukwuaji, Akegbe). Have you ever had cause to travel to such dungeon? If you ever have then you need to whip your governor. Even the governors place Udi is a ghost town and a shadow of itself, no road, no pipe borne water, no infrastructure, no hospital and you claim they have government.

You mentioned Awgu, Nsukka and Nkanu having coucillor and chairmen, but with all that are they as developed as ordinary Ekwuluobia and Ihiaha? Go figure.

FYI: Madonna the first private university in Nigeria is in Anambra state, Ihiala precisely. Anambra has more secondary and higher institution than enugu state. UNIZIK, NAUTH, ANSU, MADONNA UNI, TANSIAN UNI, NWAFOR ORIZU UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, FED POLY, the major unity colleges/schools that are as old as 100yreas in the east are located in Anambra, the likes of CKC, DMGS, QRC etc, they are too many.

The likes of Pat Utomi, Peter Obi, prof Mbanefo etc. passed thru the revered DMGS. So don't go in the area of school cause we have got it all.

Anambra ranks very high over and above Enugu state in education. In the whole of Nigeria its only Imo that ranks above Anambra. educationally Enugu state competes with the likes of Ebonyi, Gombe, Niger, Adamawa and rest of them.

For strangers in Igboland, Enugu state has the following high institutions: UNN,UNEC,ESUT Agbani, IMT Enugu, NIGERIA LAW SCHOOL Agbani, CARITAS UNIVERSITY Emene Enugu, OSISATECH Nike, MADONNA UNIVERSITY Ndiagu Akpugo.COLLEGE OF EDUCATION Ehamufu, another Uni owned by former Gov. Nnamani at Agbani/Ugbawka. Madonna Uni Okija is owned by Rev. Father Emmanuel Edeh from Ndiagu Akpugo. The road from Ozzalla Junction along Enugu/PH Highway is a 4 lane 15km dual road to Agbani. Old secondary schools in Enugu are : CIC Enugu, St. John Nsukka, Bigard Enugu, Queen's Enugu,City Girls Enugu, St. Patrick Emene, and football /sports power houses National Grammar School Nike Enugu,Umueze Boys Secondary. The last 2 schools dominated sports in the old Anambra State. Mr. Innocent Egbunike and Ezinwa brothers,plus many ex Rangers' players were from those Enugu schools.

Does it occur to you that more students seek admission to Unizik than UNN due to the fact that premium university UNN is more competitive than Unizik? UNN is in another league than Unizik.Ok? Stop those your "OMATA"arguments!

The difference is crystal clear. People from Anambra state acquired those academic laurels which they boast of in the 70s and 80s. But since 1990 the dynamic has been changing. I bet you still think that Enugu state is a backward "Wawa State"?They are making incredible progress there.Besides, Enugu is politically more matured than Anambra state. Remember that Mr. Roy Umenyi and Chief Augustine Ezenwa,from areas in the present Anambra state were deputies to Jim and Onoh during the old Anambra state era.You can ask Mr.Ifeanyichukwu Enemchukwu, the then house speaker,what he knows about Enugu peoples political maturity. According to available statistics,Anambra state has not been producing more undergraduates than Enugu or Imo states.There aren't enough quality schools in the state like in the above mentioned two states.Last year,more students from Enugu state,for instance,gained admission to Nigerian universities than their Anambra counterparts.No emotions dude,the facts are there!The state can also be said to be too rough for normal academic work. You want to argue against those facts?

The fact is that Anambra State has not exploited its potential to fullest. A State that has aspired to become "The Bavaria " of Igboland industrially,found itself struggling against the overwhelming "OMATA" mentality which its politicians exhibited throughout the State's first decade of creation.
Gov.Obi has done well by opening up Anambra's rural areas with new road networks,but more infrastructural investment is needed in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi.Onitsha for example,lacks everything that an industrial City needs to attract investment.Nnewi is in the same league as well.No businessman or investor wants kidnapped while clutching his briefcase inspecting land to house his factory.
Anambra high school boys are said to be more interested in joining spare-parts trade than scoring better marks for college admission,unlike their peers from Imo or Enugu State. I think what the Mallam meant is that Gov.Obi's budget was being applied mostly in the wrong sectors,instead of where it is needed to improve Anambra's socioeconomic status. Does potentials alone develop a country or state?

The good-old Nigerian league is a shadow of its self. Good football and well managed clubs declined in the country over the last 20years.
I still cherish the memory of travelling from Aba to Enugu watching Rangers International play against Iwuanyanwu Nationale of Owerri at Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium.Then later Udorji United of Awka against the flying antelopes. New Nigeria Bank of Benin-City with the likes of Stephen Keshi, Henry Nwosu, Bright (10,10) Omokaro, Sunday Eboigbe, Samson Ozogula etc, were a delight to watch and they attracted tens of thousands of spectators to stadiums plus millions on TV.
Homeboys Rangers Intern. had also some of the best players in the league. With Captain Ikechukwu Oforje, Jude Agada, Charles Okonkwo, Okwuchukwu Obiora, Kingsley Oye, Totti Totti, Mike Emenalor, Patrick Okala, Davinson Owumi, Christain Ogbodo etc, they hardly loose a home match. The then IICC Shooting Stars were also good with such players like Yisa Shofoluwe, Wole Odegbami( later Abiola Babes), Mutiu Adepoju, Ademola Adeshina, Jide Oguntuase, Kehinde Keshinro, and many whom i can't remember now.
When i remember those teams and players that worked hard making their respective teams and Nigerian fans proud i wonder where we went wrong.Untill we rediscover our football, we shall continue to be colonized football-wise by EPL.

Personally i don't care much about the two teams. If not for black players in Chelsea team, to me they are a bunch of players who pee in their pants when the chips are down. The Bavarians are the most arrogant football club in Germany,they believe the world stops at their feet.I can't withstand the FC Bayern. The only thing i like about Bavaria is that BMW is produced there. Though, for beer lovers the state is where you can find the best beers in Germany. The signs are not good for Nigeria: insecurity all over the country, a nearly bankrupt state finance, deeply short-changed and frustrated populace, and profound division amongst the ruling mafia elites - combined recipe for perilous months ahead!

My advice to folks is that it is better to build your house in Nigeria when you are ready to be there to monitor things by yourself.
Sending money to your relatives to build it for you is like inviting trouble. Some people back home will see your money as their own Udorji salary award, while some will use some of the money to marry a new wife. I have heard cases of funny Nigerian stories told to Diaspora Nigerians when they return home to live in the house they sent money to build.

What a sad news! I remember using her famous song "Unconditionl Love" several times on my girlfriend in mid 80s during my high school days- telling her that my love for her was pure. And during those years, Anthony Okofuu and Barikomo Ador of Radio Nigeria Enugu use to play her songs as well.
I still remember dancing to her songs with my friend Augustine, two girls from Girls High School Awkananaw durig Easter holidays in 1983. Augustine's father was away so we had his Turntable, Vinyl collections and some Ökpa to enjoy some Boogie woogie.

Great topic! Growing up in Enyimba City and having the opportunity of schooling in Coal City for over a decade; with relatives in the West gave me the chance of travelling wide and far in Southern Nigeria. Then i was in love with Port-Harcourt, mainly due to the coolness and peacefullness of its inhabitants who knew how to enjoy life to the fullest. Where in Nigeria could one compare the rich Port- Harcourt cousine with? Another thing that attracted me to Garden City was the famous 1st Nigerian FM Radio Station, then Radio Rivers 2 FM Stereo on 99.128mhz. The likes of Mike Yompe, Kiddies Jenkins Tebidor,Keneth Ekperi, Victor Burubor, Joetex Dumpe, Victor Nwabuzo, Countryman Borma Erekosima, and Launch-break Queen Daphney Gogo-Abbey,plus other moderators and DJs on the station made Port-Harcourt an irresistable choice for me.
Coming to Lagos in 1991, what i saw was a coastal city like PH with lots of stress for its dwellers. Another thigh about Lagos which is still a nightmare to me is the billions of mosquitoes there. Fashola maybe doing his best, but the crazy fly still breeds in millions at Eko.
Northern Nigeria? I´ve been to Kano once last year. The topograhy of the region is beautiful; the wide open fields, hills and mountains that remind one of tha Swiss Alps. But i can't live in the North, not even in that over priced Abuja.
So, Coal City (Enugu) is it for me. Not just the sorrounding hills make Enugu beautiful,but its people and the delicious Abacha. A drive on weekends to nearby Nike or Udi villages for the best of African Palm-wine is always like a ritual for me. Forget Italian red wine, the real deal is Udi palm -wine in Enugu. With new city road networks, driving in Enugu is also fun. Atleast you can do upto 150KM/H at night on some of the new Enugu city roads. My Bavarian 535 series enjoys it as well anytime i'm back in Coal city. Give it to Coal City! Who knows where Mr.C,Chuzzy Iboko is? He was the toast of the town in Coal City during his days at "Sunrise 96.1"
