zaboy: most of these Asians countries give death sentence for drugs, they make it clear when they give you the visa. They make sure they stamp it on your passport sef! At this stage, there is nothing the nigerian government or anyone one else can do. A lot of Nigerians are on death row for drug trafficking in Asian countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore etc), and most of them are Igbo, why is that?
secondly, if you happen to visit a refugee camp in Europe or elsewhere, you will almost never see a Northerner as a refugee, only southerners. My question is, if the south is more developed than the north, why do southerners leave to be refugees in another country?
P.S. I m not trying to be tribalist or smart here, just saying d truth THERE IS NO REFUGEE CAMP IN EUROPE. IF YOU HAVE VISITED ONE, WHAT`S THE LOCATION?. |

Kobojunkie: I am not going to turn this into a debate on how inept or not our police are.
There were people in the same group of worshipers who cried out that the man not be killed? Are those people not aware of the state of our police force?? I am sure they all are, probably even more so than you are, but even when faced with making a decision on what to do with the man, who only some moments before tried to kill then, chose to let him live, probably so that the right authorities, yet the same inept one, handle the situation legally. If you want to attack someone, attack those people for wanting to do the right thing, not me. It is beyond comprehension that you are lamenting and protesting the killing of a man who was actively involved in the process of committing mass murder. |

IF-COULD do not explain anything of what happened. Sorry, you have a man who was too chicken to blow himself up, but was eventually killed here. Why not leave the IFs and COULDA-SHOULAs to the right authorities? o how does killing him help save lives?Als What lives? The lives of the Church members who he already did not want to kill? Again, the jumble above does not negate anything I have said so far . . . . Which authorities?, the most inept authority on planet earth. You have forgetten so soon about kabiru sokoto. By Killing this miscreant, he will never again be a party to the planning or execution of such evil in the future. Kobojunkie: Yes, people are different and that is what the story even tries to helps you understand by telling you that while there were those who went into a murdering rage, and clubbed the man to death instead, there were the others who cried out that the mob not kill him. So, it is still on each individual to decide whether to allow his or her rage control him/her when there is that chance that it should not be so. Sometimes, attack is the best form of self defence. If they had spared his life, he will most definitely re-arm himself and strike again. Killing him will help to save lives. So junkie, it`s not about rage or self control, it`s about the safety and security of not just christians worshippers but that of the generality Nigerians, muslims inclusive. |

When l said dat everyone is making mockery of Igbos, somebody was asking me why l said that. Igbos hv become a laughing stock in d Nigerian nation. We hv become d object of ridicle and caricature.
We hv become handy tools for d development of other parts of Nigeria while our own land lie fallow and desolate. Early today some Igbo traders said they cannot leave Kano even at d point of death becos of their billions of Naira investments in Kano. Other Nigerians hv learnt to use and dump us for d development of their areas, and later kill us and take over our investments. This trend has bn d order of d day, before, during and after d civil war.
What is wrong in buiding the biggest markets, industries, estates, investments in d vast Igbo lands? Igbos hv not and seems not even ready to learn their lesson. Tell me, are we not the architect of our woes over these years? We are. Kogi state now wants to lure us with free land to develop their state, and some greedy Igbos will actaually accept the Greek offer.
Igbos, pls wake up from ur slumber and deliver yourselves of enslavement, sacrificing ur sons and daughters in foreign lands, underdevelopment of our Igbo nation, developing other peoples's lands and pepertual in wilderness. How can we keep on talking about Biafra nation when we are not ready to develop the area? At d rate Igbos are going, it appears a pipe dream. May God help Ndi Igbo. Eko Ile: Like I said, you sound too naive and if I might add, you also sound too hopelessly clueless.
You didn't answer the questions I asked you because you know this is nothing but BS.
Stop somparing Nigeria with democracies all over the world because they don't create multiple parastattals to duplicate responsibilities and at the same time wasting resources on a full ministry and a minister who's job it is to look after the oil sector.
Very soon, they'll create another parastatal on top of RIBADU to duplicate what he's doing. This is wastage and incompetence.
Again
The fact that GEJ asked Ribadu to give his corrupt administration a fake clean look means nothing, he didn't have to appoint Ribadu to do anything, he has the power and authority to clean the oil sector himself, even with all the duplicating agencies doing the same thing, they are all fleecing your money left and right on top of the huge money you are paying them to loot your money while GEJ look the other way.
Why do we have a petroleum minister and petroleum ministry? The Petroleum minister and her ministry can not sanitize the petroleum industry.
What his her job and what are we paying her for and why do we have a petroleum ministry?
Why do we have the NNPC?
Why do we have the (PEF)?
Why do we have the PPPRA?
Why do we have the (PTDF)? Mr clues, nothing will ever change if we take perennial armchair critics like you serious. The answer to your question is very simple: Because things have been going downhill for ages in Nigeria does not mean we have to fold our arms and do absolutely nothing. Because previous commissions of inquiry failed or that their findings were swept under the carpet does not mean that we have to give up hope about the future. BTW, i agree with you about the decay and the corruption in our country but where do we go from here: criticise, condemn, give up hope, do nothing. Certainly not, every effort geared towards finding solutions to our problems should at least be given a chance to succeed, not pulled down before they even start just because people like are focussed on our past failures. Nigeria is "bleeding profusely", every step towards eldorado, irrespective of how minute that step may be should not be rubbished by very "intelligent" and "educated" fellas like you whose brain is overflowing with "clues" and "ideas". |

Eko Ile: You do sound very naive.
What they asked Ribadu to do is to baby sit one the many government agencies in the oil sector, he has zero clue about what is going on in all the other sectors and agencies, even if he has, he can not do anything simply because he has no power or authority to do anything but just sit down and look.
And if push comes to shove, he'll cry to GEJ who has no power to do anything talk less go after anybody especially his crooked entrenched benefactors and party members in the same oil sector.

Ribadu is nothing but another window dressing just like the ones listed above. They will use him, rubbish him and dump him.
At the end of the day, GEJ is the boss and the same same incompetent Boss with little or no capacity to do anything about corruption in Nigeria. The problem with you is that pessimism have eaten very deep into your mental state to the extent that you view virtually every step forward from a negative perspective. The difference between both of us is that i still harbour a glimmer of hope for Nigeria and that i cannot criticise someone before the commencement of an assignment, i will do that after the assignment, based on the person`s performance. Ribadu`s mission is merely investigative, to unearth the facts about the monumental rot in that sector and make recommendations to the president for implementation. Fact finding teams are periodically set up in almost every democracy in the world. Because the findings of such missions have been swept under the carpet in the past in Nigeria dosent mean we have to be overly pessimistic about every little step towards positive change, condemning everyone and everything. |

Eko Ile: Serving your country and taking your turn to be part of the rot and decay are two different things,
They did not appoint him to serve you, he's their to help clean PDP's dirty image that he himself can not do.
In what way is he serving you? Can you explain to us the nature of his job and how it = Serving Nigeria.
If PDP really care about you and Nigeria, they'll give him a position that goes with his skills, experience and qualifications.
The man was a police and a crime fighter with gun, badge and law enforcement power to put bad people in jail, not a worthless and powerless shopkeeper. The petroleum sector is the bedrock of Nigeria`s economy and it is in total decay. If that sector could be sanitised, a significant percentage of our economic problems will vanish. You are clearly underestimating the magnitude of the problems in that sector by belittling that appointment. That position, in my own opinion, is more important than being at the helm of affairs in EFCC. EFCC merely puts criminals behind bars but Ribadu can help solve Nigeria`s economic problems if he succeeds in his new role. |

Eko Ile: This is why Nigeria is such a fcukkeddd up country. The government is bleeped up and even the citizenry is fcukked up in their ways and thinking.
They have been fuckkedd with so much that they don't even know right from wrong It's like something got to be wrong as long as the messenger is not in our camp.
Basic curtsey and how to do things is not only a major problem, even the ability and intellectual capacity to demand curtsey is a bigger problem.
Many Nigerians have zero self esteem and self worth that they don't mind to be dissed, they don't mind to be disrespected and even insulted. How do a presidential candidate that's blasted the opposition endlessly deep down to the foundation of the same opposition and what it stands for, then turn around to be a common errand boy for the same worthless opposition he's blasted and campaigned against? Not even a cabinet position for a whole presidential candidate, but instead a worthless glorified parastatal on top of so many worthless parastatals doing the same damn thing. We are talking about a meaningless and decorative position with no power or authority over anything but just to be a common shopkeeper to look after shop while the same rot flows right by him with no power or authority to do anything about it. They'll use and dirty him with their mess and toss him aside.
Politically, he's done. Maybe just another PDP Ghana must go honorable, but never a serious and trustworthy political player. He sold his soul to the devil for nothing. I disagree with you in totality. We all should be prepared to serve our country, if called upon to do so, in any capacity, irrespective of political affiliations. We cannot continually criticise the rot in Nigeria while refusing to partake practically (serving) in navigating our country out of the myriad of problems bedevilling us as a nation. |

In his eighties, after over three decades in power, this demented fool is teaching African leaders about leadership. Robert Mugabe have turned a very promising zimbabwe into an impoverished nation. He is hell bent on hanging on to power until death calls. It is sheer madness that at an age when he should be in peaceful retirement, he have started campaining for his next five years in power. The fact that the white minority controls 80% of zimbabwean lands have been in place since he assumed power in 1980 and up to his second decade in power. That was`nt an issue for him until he started losing his grip on power. It was then that he turned the inequality in land ownership into a political tool. This land problem was well handled in neighbouring South Africa where the same problem of imbalance exists. He should bury his head in shame for he is one of those sit tight maniacs giving Africa a bad image. How can a man, almost ninety years of age, still have the mental capacity to steer the affairs of a country. He is now critisizing the west, his best friends until he started destroying zimbabwe with his land politics and starving those who do not support his sit-tight tactics. The good news is that even if he successfully reinstalls himself as president for another five years, age will soon knock him out and zimbabwe will breathe again. |
