We may be used to hearing "Good, Fast or Cheap - Pick Two" in a humorous way. There's Real Truth to it.
Armed with this knowledge, we're prepared to give our clients exactly what they want by their choice. We've had enough of Champagne taste on Lacasera budget! [quote ] Good & Cheap won't be Fast

I won't go to their house to tell them what positions are holy and why they must not fake their kids out on weekends. It's not my place to go and cook for my son when the wife is there. I am raising ab intelligent, godly boy and praying for his future to be peaceful, so carry your nollywood scenario and enact it in the life of your relatives. My own son will not marry a public dog and I won't be a mean mother in-law. I have a business empire to build for their kids and grandkids, no time for nose poking. Are you satisfied? softandmoist: Control? If I bequeath my properties to my generations unborn I'm controlling them? Where are you from? He can, and will build for them. What's your business if my grandchildren and great grandchildren inherit my billions willed to them? How in your very enlightened dictionary is that control? See how you even flew off in another direction. I'm talking about raising children with good judgment, you're saying akira vcd remote control doesn't use dry cell battery. *stirs ileya stew some more* Nothing wrong with bequeathing your properties to your generations unborn. Don't you think it is better to bequeath it to your son and DIL who will in turn bequeath it to them?. Your DIL and grand DIL could have their own plans for their kids you know. They could also have businesses that they want to bequeath to their kids. Your gestures is noble but because of the nature of women, your DIL and grand DIL could see it as going beyond your boundaries and this is where the friction start. What if your grand kids and great grand kids are not interested in your business?. So, just focus on bequeathing to your kids and allow them to continue the bequeathing instead of jumping two generations ahead in the bequeathing. Btw, i need some ileya ram meat. I hope you did not use everything for that stew you are stirring. |

softandmoist: Bro leave out the percentage. African mothers are not the only ones who struggle to send their kids to school. The major cause is that DILs do not take time to study their MILs.
Here's an angle I view things from. First, the holy book says a man will leave his family and cleave. As soon as you desire in your heart to marry that woman, your mom becomes secondary, even if she trekked from Golgotha to Calvary to make your education possible. Second, people say blood is thicker than water. I totally agree. Your wife is your flesh, says the book. You have become one flesh. Flesh is thicker than blood. There are medical alternatives for blood products, but not flesh. Your wife is you, you're one. Your mom is your idol, so you both will respect her accordingly. I am a mother, and in some years my son will get married. There are boundaries, and I don't plan to cross them. If I sow any bad seed into the life of my MIL, may I harvest it bountifully when my son gets married. God forbid that any woman will not enjoy her son because of me, but then again, respect the boundaries! Easier said than done. You can say this because he has not yet brought home a lady. Wait until he brings home a girl that you know too well to be a public dog and we will see if your plan not to cross that boundary will be kept. |

A little story for prospective DIL espercially @Shebarh that has an awful wish for her future MIL to be dead before she marries the son.
My 10-year old son recently went to resume JSS1 in a boarding school in Lagos. The mother was crying after she parted from him and was not herself for some days. We live in Lagos and the distance to the school is not far.
I just laugh at her tears and told her to reflect on what the feelings of my mother were when i had to leave her at the age of 10 to go to a boarding school of a distance of about 300km from her at an era when there were no phones and the only means of communication was letter through NIPOST.
The world is a cycle. Sooner than later, it will be the turn of a DIL to be an MIL. A lady should not expect that a son would suddenly abandon a mother who had sleepless nights over him for several years.
A teaser. For instance, if a man marries at the age of 35, it means he has spent 35 years with her mother. Is there a guarantee that he will spend 35 years with the lady he is marrying?. |

KolaShangOne: Oga EgunMogaji.. Even though we are not Julius Berger yet, I am a professional and we run a standardized company which has been vetted by TETFUND, UBEC and other Federal government agencies.
That said, you want us to acquire these expensive equipments, who will we use it to work for if alternative un-mechanized systems are preferred by a big man like you. Just 2 weeks ago, all the debate was on doing things differently.
I'm expressing the same view as NL1960, skimanski, Abdulwastecx, Spyder880 and others because we looked forward to seeing a different way of doing things. I'm offering constructive criticism, sometimes banter and not condemning.
I lost your number with my stolen phone, if not I would have msgd you and we would have had a tete-à-tete.. Im still hoping for my $1000 from the block carrying bet You mean you are yet to collect this $1000 bet from him when i was about to ask you for my 10% supporter fees. Better collect it before he uses it to pay omo nile since it seems his Texas bazookas are not working to deter them. I saw that he used padlock for the gate. I was expecting to see 'something' that makes people to start sweeping when they come near hanging on the gate. |

These fabricators go round several communities and make a metal note of what they see and then they come back and sketch them and fabricate based on that. |

If those pipes are at list 1/4 thick, with the flat sheet matal at 3/8 thick. It will be strong enough to stand the teste of the day. In my opinion, I like that of 160k. Bros I believe I saw your house in one of Naija movie. I may wrong. if you don't mind me posting the short link. Do not know all these but i trust the guy to do a good job with the best materials. He did my water tank stand and i was very impressed. That of 160k is also appealing to me. Will have to see how far i can beat down the price. I doubt it was my house that you saw in a Naija movie but i could be wrong as people can just firm house in this country without permission. You can post the link. |

mufutau55: Have we now stopped praying for children when couples are getting married in Nigeria? If so, are we going the way of the foreigners? Even foreigners are having in excess of two children now... two is surely plenty to some people. You people need to go see women/men in Churches, Mosques, Babalawos praying and seeking to have children.. go tell those people there is something like "plenty children no good"... Of course we want quality children... but there is no guarantee to that either... you can have only one child or several children and they can all turned bad quality or vice-versa. We also don't want plenty children because of money to take care of them... I also pray that God give the couples plenty money too so they can have enough fund to care for them. Now, sey I don clarify the whole thing?
Hajji M. We have not stopped praying for couples to have children when they are getting married. It is the 'plenty' that you put that gave rise to the response. 'Plenty' is undefined. In my place when the elder is handling over the girl to you as wife, he will hold her hand and giver her to you and say 'this is now your wife. Go and give birth to both boys and girls'. The common interpretation of plenty is something that is uncountable. e.g plenty of sand, plenty of water, plenty of money, plenty of houses etc. |

Happiness, quality fruit and God's guidance in your union. No mind Hajji. He thinks we are still in the Nigeria of old that he knows. These days in Nigeria, it is quality of children and not quantity of children. Congrats segzy14 wishing you a lot of God's blessings and favour. |

brabus: It really doesn't matter if the whole world is doing it wrong. I don't need or want multiple redundant rooms. Like ante room, family room and a formal living room upstairs. Or a dining room and a breakfast area. Or kitchen and a separate store and laundry. Just give me one good space for each function. Quality over quantity. That's functionality!
Is there a decree or rule in Nigeria that guests or visitors must be entertained in a particular room? What happened to the patio, the outdoor garden, and the BBQ area?
Give me theatre. If there's more space, give me courtyard. If theres even more, give me Office/Chapel. There is no decree or rule. Is it a must that i have to entertain my guest in the patio, the outdoor garden and the BBQ area. That is why somebody said that it is matter of choice. |

segcymoor: Oga. U are the least person I am expecting this question from In Morden duplex, Just a definate answer we suffice. Do you expect every visitors to ve direct answer to ur living room? .I think ur personal project is a duplex.
If I can count at least I ve built and design nothing less than 15 duplex in the course of my practices. Besides, we are not responsible for all the design.
Non without an ante room! KolaShangOne: The argument about ante room, high pitch roof etc.. Its all about CHOICE..
Those saying it's useless are talking in relation to FUNCTIONALITY.
Those saying its useful are arguing on the side of AESTHETICS and the beauty of aesthetics is CHOICE. It is really about choice. My initial design had no ante room but when i went to my cousin's house, i came back and changed my design to have an ante room because i saw the need for it. If you have a country home and people keep coming in to greet you especially the community people, an ante room come in handy to keep some people waiting while attending to others in the sitting room. I do not have a dinning area in my project as i converted that area to a VIP sitting room after going to the house of my Chairman and seeing what he did. |
