If you are already in heaven in spirit, why then do u need your physical body in heaven?
comparing the ressurection of Jesus to ours is ok. but note that Jesus was in spirit form from the beginning.(this is confirmed in the hebrew bible, where the creation was done by Elohim the plural name for God in genesis 1) it was His decision to die for mankind that made him come in flesh. this implies that dominion in heaven has always been in spirit. tha father, the son and the spirit plus the hosts of heaven have always been in spirit.

John 3vs13 Jesus said"no one has gone into heaven, except the Son of man that came down from it"

when apostle peter was explaining the concept and intrigues of Christs ressurection, to convince the isrealites about the realities of Jesus ressurection, he made startling revealations. lets examine them.
Acts2vs29-34
29"Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ,[a] that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay. 32God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. 33Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. , 34For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said

notice the last verse david did not ascend into heaven. tayo-d where is david?

again to butress what I said earlier on, that the state of everyone before judgement is death. In john5:28, Jesus said "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice". This readily implies that on the day of judgement the state of all is dead.

you made refrence to apostle paul. true he said in phillipians1:23-24 that "I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body."

he said this because as David also confirmed, once u re dead, u loose all sense of time, the next phase you know is judgement. also check ecclesiatess9:5 "For the living know that they will die,
       but the dead know nothing;
       they have no further reward,
       and even the memory of them is forgotten.

Paul re-affirmed this in 1thessalonians4:16 that "16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first."

and when he finished his good work i.e when he knew his time was up he said in 2timothy4:6-7 "6For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. 7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, [b]will award to me on that day—[/b]and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing"

notice that he said on that day, and not immediately I die.

like I said, this is not an antheist or anti-Christian idea or provocation, I am a born again Christian, I only want us to know the truth and abide by it.

i disagree there, leadership leaves a legacy which citizens follow in order to survive, if the odds are stacked against them. Where in Nigeria we had past leaders who showed us that it was ok to be ostentatious, money grabbing, cheats, liars. They showed that all these things came with no repercussion. So what do you have? people will try to survive, try to beat the system to get what the leaders have, what they have been denied. Look at the way the newspapers, magazinez parade all those leaders with their ill gotten wealth. Ovasion magazine makes me sick. they celebrate every tom privates and harry.

yes noetic things go unchecked. No one is saying rigging and scandals do not go on in the most advanced nations, the difference is there are checks and balances, people are made accountable.

no developed nation today has not at one point in time expirienced bad leadership. bad leadership is exclusive to humans. but the difference is they have stood up against it, fought and stood their ground and at most times make sacrifices.

when june 12 happened, the whole of nigeria saw it as a yoruba affair. but do u know that if the whole nation had stood up then, abacha wont have suceeded and we wont witness election rigging again. there would have been a precedent of free and fair elections in nigeria.

take for instance, a contract for a bridge for vehicular movements was awarded in ikorodu, lagos. the residents noticed that the iron the contractor was using is substandard. and considering the hetic nature of ikorodu, the bridge might collapse sooner than expected. _{u can only imagine the amount of lives that would be lost.}

they responded and made paid advertorials attracting the goverments attention to it, they stood their ground and protective measures were subsequently taken.

Abiola had a dirty past, but ran an issue-based campaign, the only I can attest for in modern Nigeria.

If I had any logical reason to believe that Abiola would have made a good or bad president, then I wouldnt have pasted this in the first place.

it was in an attempt to see other people`s analyses of abiola`s agenda that neccesitated me to write this topic. but unfortunately certain people simply despised him and continued to ring his past in our ears as if no one had a past. I just felt that perhaps someone could state convincingly that his manifesto was a hoax or something else we never thought of, et al

I elaborated on his bad past and positive side and took no side, though undoubtedly I like the man and still think he is one of the greatest africans ever to live .

I am not trying to be politically correct like you thought because I have schooled in an islamic environment where I criticised and vehemtly opposed their acts of trying to impose their will on us. take for instance, certain students came together to organise a campus beauty peagent dubbed "miss Lautech". coincidentally it was during their fasting period. they insisted the show must not hold and would attack anyone who attempts to attend the show. it led to a big fracas.

IPP out of frustration met Awo, and he siezed the opportunity. and subsequently azikwe went to the east to sack the incubent premier. NEVER AGAIN WAS AWO CLOSELY OR OUTRIGHTLY DEFEATED IN THE WEST, AND NEVER AGAIN WAS AZIKWE`S NCNC PROMINENT IN THE WEST.
to answer that, the west appreciated awo, no wonder all subsequent western governors "elected" by the people aspire to emulate him.

regardless of what you think, what makes or breaks a man is what he did with opportunities he had. It becomes more intriguing if those around him had the same opportunities too.

Obafemi Awolowo like three other men (one in the eastern region, another in the mid-west and the last in the north) had opportunities to serve their fatherland. what they did with these opportunities is history today. their results are subjects to debate by generations born and unborn.

Awo stood tall. he offered free, qualitative, basic education, adequate healthcare among others. ask yourself, y is he controversial even till today. because his policies unlike his mates are distinct, stood the test of time and has not been surpassed by any nigerian leader, living or dead.

he was a visionary and an icon. that he served in the southwest does not mean that he is a tribalist, because he sought for opportunities to implement these ideas on the national platform. he was rigged out. yet he continued to offer his opinion on national issues at the folly of the then rulers.

on biafra, he was on the fedral side so y should he have made any attempt to aid that ill fated project?. y didnt the 5 ibo govs of 1999-2007 back the uwazurike biafra project with all the funds at their disposal?. obviously if they did, biafra would have been a success. but they wont, y not? cos its their carrot for negotiating selfish aims at the fedral level.

if we can have a president who can implement 25% of Awo`s policies, Nigeria will be a better place.

No doubt Awo will remain a sacroscant figure to millions unborn regardless of tribal affiliations.
