Deep Sight: Hi there! I am only just recovering from the bedmatics of this morning. . . how am i going to overcome my sex addiction. . . Damn. . .
Now back to the issues -
You are right: that a god is ancient does not mean it is pagan.
However, i ask you: the established monotheistic religions are Christianity, Judaism and Islam. What are the chances that the "Yahweh"worshipped by the tribes on the arabic peninsula was the monotheistic creator. . . very unlikely. Especially as the bible explicitly states that the tribes around Israel were all heathen and pagan. (Hence the special nature of Israel, and the injunctions by god to wipe out some of these peoples).
No? considering ur antecedents . . . , the quality of this post was rather poor and pathetic. |
lets beg your question.
Something being ancient doesnt automatically mean its pagan.
Paganism involves the worship of idols, right?
I hope you see where the fault is with your analogy.
I asked you what was the name of the God Noah worshipped, who told him to build an ark.
and remember, Rachel, Jacob's wife took her household gods with her after she married. Showing a clear distinction between her own god and the God her husband's family worshipped.
btw , I thought you said you went clubbing somewhere- shouldnt you be easing off right now. Surprised to know you're male.
dont know why I keep assuming some males are female on this forum.
where is deepsight? I patiently await his response to this post? |

And, if you just rant as you do always, OK and stay mute. what rubbish is this? what case are u presenting or addressing? are u blind? are u not the one who produced that haddith? did u not see mohammed say all blacks are hell bound? olabowale: wondering is not always wonderful!
When they wonder around it is because they have no clue about the truth!
Look at the humongous sky; the space and all, as far as the eye can see;
Is there a god with the One God Who created it?
The Jewish Rabbi says Muhammadin, and somebody is saying "does that make any sense!"
They should go ask the Rabbi who said it, or at least get smart and do some research about this! a. what is the truth? b. what is mohammed's name doing in a "corrupt" bible? |

Lagosboy: Thought provoking. May Allah bless you Frizy.
You never translate a name , it has to retain its status and pronounciation. Anyone wonder why we always have the translated quran with the arabic by its side? It is to prevent fraudulent translations.
Bible was translate from hebrew to greek to English then to several other languages - 4 chains of translation. Jesus also spoke aramaich and not the hebrew as we know it today. Language experts tells us aramaik is the closest language to arabic and like a dialect of arabic and this laguage is still spoken in some parts of palestine. Merl Gibson also use this language in his movie passion of the christ, does this make any sense? |

Deep Sight: Has it occured to you that the "Fall of Man" may refer to Mankind's departure from the spiritual realm towards the world of matter, for the purpose of experiencing and growing?
Has it occured to you that "the garden of Eden" may refer to a spiritual home of mankind which was never on this earth? And that the "Fall" may refer to the leaving of that home to come to this world?
Do these two little teasers make you see that there are many suppositions that you have not even yet considered?
And that this subject is deeper than mere heckling? and whats the basis of this? any proof? |

olabowale: JazakAllahu Khair, ayakallah Muhsin. The color of hearts is based on Taqwa. Like the Hijara Aswat Fi Kaaba (The black stone in Kaaba), it used to be white as milk (no stain), except the children of Adam (initially the direct descendants of Ibrahim 9AS), the Arabs), and others, and then in the time of Prophet Muhammad (AS) mostly Arabs (muslims), and all through now (every nations, colors) the Ummah worldwide, whose sins bleed onto this stone and it is Black today that its called "Aswat) Black!
I guess the believers only see their Hawa (desire), no Shawa (shame)!
And from those who will go to Paradise plenty are Blacks, and while Arab Kufar/disbelievers will end up in Jahannam! how is abraham or ishmael the descendants of arabs? . . . . .another fraud from allah. |

banom: I will not define what i don't know any thing about, rather i will accept yours if you define and defend every content of your definition,

what is God,? What is creation,? What is creator ? What is existence ? What is supernatural ? 1. I will stick with Deepsight's primordial definition for God. . , God is the CREATOR of the universe and its contents. 2. The creation is the universe and it all its living "elements" from the minutest organisms to humans 3. Existence can be measured as state of being. Existence can either be proved by the 5 human organs or the objects/actions of the subject in question. In this context the existence of God is proved by his creation, the universe. 4. Supernatural simply means anything outside the order of science or nature or human knowledge. can u now proceed with Deepsight's argument . . . . . |

We are both intending to marry each other but considering the religious difference, I dont know if it is permissible for me to marry her (a non muslim). I hardly think of any other girl in any day and anytime except she, infact she is the love of my life. Christianity Etc › Re: Banom v Deep Sight on the Existence of God by noetic15(m): 8:54pm On Sep 30, 2009 |
Banom is being dishonest here, . . there is no reason to play pranky definition games. Deepsight has constructively defined God and I dont think that his definition of the creator provokes or refutes any atheistic concept. . . , "God is the creator" is a simple definition that should allow this debate to flow. Existence can be buttressed by the created object of the creator. So if the opening definition of God is a creator, then the existence of God is permissible, since the creation is visible. Deepsight has set a good tone for this discussion. . . . . .Banom should for once in his nairaland life take the initiative. where are the other pathetic atheists? where is tudor and mazaje? . . . . . .I would like to see deepsight construct his argument. |

mazaje: I will like you to shed more light on this claim. . .some people believe that if you are good in this present life you will re-incarnate as a better person in the next life. . some believe that if you are bad you might even come out as an animal in the next life. . . do you believe that the Dai Lama is a re-incanation of previous buddist deities or have you ever meet a dog or cat that told you he/she was a human in the previous life?. . . The above is not my idea of re-incarnation. . . . . there is no basis or proof that supports the above, thats just a ridiculous dogmatic belief. My idea of re-incarnation is of cases where people die and come back in the form of another person. They however retain ALL knowledge of their previous life, including language, family, origin and events in that life. |

Deep Sight: Noetic! This is just brilliant! This is why i like you too. . . despite being a dogmatic christian, you spice up your posts with good arguments now and then. . . excellent thinking, especially on the Destiny bit. . .
Might i ask you: do you believe in re-incarnation. . . This is a tough question. . . . . Belief is a strong word. . . .I don not "believe" in re-incarnation, . . . .but I do acknowledge reincarnation, astrology or other mystic powers largely because a. The bible acknowledges them but condemns them in the book of deuteronomy. (the bible does not mention re-incarnation though, to the best of my knowledge) b. There have been cases and instances of known re-incarnation. There have also been cases of accurate mystic readings even in the bible and in todays world. My position is that just like astrology, re-incarnation does exist but is outside the scope of my beliefs. I dont subscribe to them. . . .but it points largely to the fact there is more to this universe than we presently know. |
