Am not sure you can travel to Nigeria with Ghana must go from the states, you will need to buy those light weight bags. They tend to reject it at the airport as most airlines have had to pay passengers for lost or missing luggage when its Ghana must go as it gets torn easily especially when its checked by TSA. So they've not been accepting it. However you can travel from Nigeria to the States with it as your luggage.

The new type is very strong and have people who have used it too.

Babe, you do not want to buy wipes from the US, especially if you live in lagos, those things weigh a ton & the difference in price is non existent.

Do an experiment, ask someone to price it for you & compare the price, on another note, you paid for baggage allowance, you may as well gbadun it...

Thanks sis. Just a few packs. I'm mostly into diapers and baby formula. They are quite expensive here and I doubt if I will see them in Naija. If I ever see them,;they might cost an arm and a leg. Can't wait for the children to start drinking pap jare.

Thanks love. It's my 2nd option but nothing beats that Ghana must go bag. It's very strong and can contain lots of things.

Or Will you say the same thing to that man who recently lost his wife during child delivery, leaving behind a newborn and a 2 year old. Please, if people can afford the quality medical care outside Nigeria. Let her be please.

Ideally you should have an international driver's license to drive in the US cos the nigerian one isn't recognized. Just hope you're not stopped for any reason cos you'll have a bit of explanation to do with your naija license. And you might even jeopardise the car owner cos you're probably not listed on the insurance. Just be careful.

Good day all. Please my sister us visa was cancelled at POE in Abu Dhabi because she carried her educational certificates along. She was equally delayed for 3days at the airport. Please house what is her chance of winning the case if she contact a lawyer. She said she was kept in an hotel with meal ticket before returning her to Lagos. I warned her not to fly Ethiad.

Why did she travel with her educational certificates? Were they not safe in Nigeria? The act simply shows she isn't planning to return after delivery. The documents she should be seen carrying along are her burden of proof, indicating she's truly going for child delivery and not job hunting.

I am using West houston birth center.its basically for natural birth. Although, in case of complications they are just 1km from west houston memorial hospital. i have correspondence from the birth center and that is what i intend applying for my visa with. The total cos for delivery, labs, prenatal and postpartum care is 4000 dollars, and with discounts can reduce to about 3,300. I also bo0ok an hotel near the birth center. I hope i am good to go. Please advice

I'm afraid you might get denied. Why don't you get a proper hospital and present to the embassy instead of a birth centre?

what's the big deal about people living in the US. If I say I have someone in the US,what is there to lie about. CNN said 9 people,but 12 people actually died. I don't know what you're insinuating by saying if am sure my brother-in-law lives in the US. What's the big deal about living there? As far as am concerned that country is overhyped,apart from the value of their currency and organised society,I for one cannot live in a society where every tom,dick and Harry owns a gun. Travel on maybe a few weeks holiday and back is ok for me. Can't even let my kids school there,I rather send them to New Zealand. Nigerians have over-hyped America.

@modath, way to go. They know where African shops are but they don't get all that they want from it. Whenever I go visiting, you will see the long list of Naija food I get for them. They are just happy when you come with such things for them.

I'm staying with family (who are doing fine & don't need nothing from me)who will come pick me up at the airport, chauffeur me to maybe one or two vists(schedule permitting) & with my 23kg x 2 baggage allowance I'm supposed to come in empty handed with the "shebi una say everything dey & e cheap"?...

No way! This is the first time I'm staying outside my in law's home in the US. I buy lots of Nigerian food for them and it makes them very happy. At least , that's all I could do and they would accept. Any other thing is a no no.

Abeg which state is here? cos I'm sure illinois is not one of the "here's" . The only food I've seen that's cheaper than naija is animal protein, Moreover that obodo oyibo people's cheaper is relative ojare, $20 is not cheaper than 1.5k in my book.

My dear, we are fine and y'all? One of us here admonished me for bringing my native food to America when I could have bought them in the USA. She said stock fish is cheaper in Oakland than in Naija. I don't know if everyone is going to Oakland and if it was an offense for me to have brought my native food.

She also reminded me that it is no big deal after all her hostess cooks Nigerian food for her weekly.

Not everyone stays with hosts and hostesses. So nothing beats eating my native meal twice a day. I have also visited the so called African shop here in El Paso to buy Maggi, it's not everything you want you see. But they are trying sha! I'm so glad my mum bought our food in Naija jare and I encourage any mum coming to bring as much as you can carry.

Amen so shall it be.i carried Cassava flakes,ogbono,egusi,achie,crayfish,fish,stock fish,knorr cubes,pepper soup spice,afang,bitter-leaf etc.

Why bother to carry all these from Nigeria when you can get them from an African store here in the States? Heard stock fish is even cheaper here than in Nigeria!

Enjoy your meal jare. At least, you can eat your naija food daily than weekly when you are at the kind mercy of your host.

And my appointment is not until next week.
