Thanks Boss. I get it now. net income hovers around 60- 75k. The market determines the rest.
XGhost:
The screenshots I posted are net of uber and taxify commissions.
Weekly target is 90k minimum as in bad as e bad.
Daily target is 15k... 5k for landlord 5k for me.. 5k for fuel and others.
35k for landlord
25k to 35k for me
25 to 30k for fuel.
How I work is aim to make at least 1k for every hour I'm out of the house. So I tie time to earnings, also so I can close as early as possible. So I have it at the back of my mind that I shouldn't work beyond 15 hours to hit 15k. If I don't have up to that, its a bad day. Obviously not all trips are 1k some more some less.
I don't wait beyond 30 mins anywhere...I move, it impacts on fuel but turnover on trips compensates for that. In an earlier post I'd stated that I budget 30kms daily for positioning.
6am start, by 7.30 to 9 I should be looking for destination trip home. If I'm on the island I drive to vi, even if I have to drive empty. I save 1 taxify destination for that cos uber doesn't allow you all the time to set destination especially at rush hour.
I live at gbagada

Thanks. Boss, you have raised the bars of positivity on this thread. please one more question. Please can you give a breakdown of ur typical average earnings in an IDEAL WEEK. Like this hypothetically. Work schedule 6am- 10pm
NET( wat uber pays into d acct)- #25000
FUEL- #6000
TAKE HOME- #19,000
Let's exclude other expenses, fuel is the highest cost expentidure ,other expenses can be written off. Thanks.
XGhost:
I wake up at 5, online at 6... By 8 I'm looking for a ride to my destination. Sleep anytime from 10, latest 11, I don't negotiate 6hrs of sleep.
I do mostly uber so 12 hours always at the back of my mind. You can see my online hours in my posts.
So I'll say I work an average 12hrs active driving.
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 6:30am On Aug 19, 2019
If I may ask, when do you start n wen do you close work. Given that you run a Tue- sun shift author=XGhost post=81382946]Worst case scenario fuel and other OpEx takes a third of my net earnings, that's in a bad week. But normally I spend a quarter of my earnings on fuel and others. 1200 etisalat 1.5gb weekly..

I target 15k weekdays, 20k weekends.
Everybody's happy. My landlord isn't based in lagos, comes and goes... He doesn't see his car for weeks unless he's around and I'm picking or dropping him off at the airport (which he pays for).
Like I said, everyone can make money and we're all happy... Until greed walks in[/quote]

Oga smiley, you nailed it, dey price taxi fares like fish in Abuja.
xana101:
Abuja have so many normal taxi. U can come out from ur house and get taxi in abj. In Lagos u can’t. My in-law did Uber in abj now he’s in Lagos.
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 10:42am On Aug 17, 2019
Oga xana 101, pls what are the reasons that Lagos is more profitable than Abuja. Though the driver partners in Abuja kind of have an apathy for the internet. The Abuja thread is like 5 decades behind the Lagos thread.
xana101:
lagos is more profitable

You will always find someone willingly to take your terms. But for me, I won't advise HP, forget about people saying by now you should have bought your car if you were on HP n not paying weekly rents. It swings both ways.

Who knows along the line your principal, might offer a hp deal if he/ she deems you faithful. Follow them seniors, Oga gazzuzz, dru23, carshopper, and the other seniors that seem to operate a fleet. Goodluck.
murphyfada:
I am looking in that direction too. Even at that car owners willing to do rentals still want 30k and abover or no deal. With the cars I have seen, and for a first timer I don't think I am willing to stick my head into such deal let alone do it. My weekly payout for rental should not be more than 25k. I will not go up. Better this way.

Any car partner with a good car that u know is good and won't put me in a mechanic shop all week and willing to take 25k weekly for rental, hit me up
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 8:26pm On Aug 15, 2019
Why not start with a rental arrangement, in 8 weeks, you will have an average idea of your weekly take home. This will inform you on d next step.
murphyfada:
I have spoken to many car owners and seem they all want between 30k - 35k weekly delivery or no Deal. Considering the many challenges that comes with driving on Lagos roads, I don't want to start mentioning them as that is a topic for another day. Can one commit himself to a HP deal where you are expected to make weekly payment of 30k to 35k? If you DEDUCT your weekly 30k or 35k for OWNER/HIRE PURCHASE, How much will you have left?

Maybe this is possible when you have your own car and not obligated to make delivery or payment for a Hire Purchase plan. I am asking for those who don't own a car of their own; do weekly rentals/delivery or are on HIRE PURCHASE.

I hear sales/rides on Uber/Bolt is falling and fares are reducing drastically
Drivers stay hours without seeing a request
Trips that used to be like 4k before have been reduced to like 2k or 2500k now so riders can be happy(this done specifically to please riders) by Uber/Bolt
What is therefore the gain of drivers.

I am new to this, I don't want to go into a deal I may not be able to meet up at the end of the day and labeled all sorts of names because I can't deliver. What advice can Uber drivers in the House share on this TREND that can help me make my final decision in the coming days?

Go to customs command. Ask for their Asycuda unit, that's where the data base guys are. Ideally, it shd b free, but be prepared to part wt lyk 2k, max 3k to speed up things. They will print out a summary page of the duty papers and stamp it , writing somtin lyk "verified OK" if the duty has been duly paid, if the duty also has issues, they will tell you.
dejidotun2000:
Hello people

Can anyone here tell me how to verify the genuineness of custom papers.

I know about the phone numbers published by NCS, I have called all three numbers without any luck.

Thanks.

Oga deedee44. Thanks for the tip. I will take note.

Thanks oga maxx.
Maax23:
. Like pope191 said "Google map is your guardian", as a newbie on Lagos roads U will need Google map to study and understand road networks. Once u can do that, U don Sabi. But bear in mind that are other challenges on Lagos road, like Mad traffic, Law enforcement agencies who are there to extort you, bad roads, aggressive rough drivers and so on.
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 3:42am On Aug 08, 2019
Thanks boss. Really appreciate. Please, I will be waiting for other tips too. I mean, movement strategies from a gurus point. What places to avoid for now as a rookie, which places you shdnt go if one had an option. Thanks once again.
pope191:
Greetings, from my own little point of view, dia is nothing impossible, focus and dedication is all u need since u have been driving, but note, dia is sometin called "LAGOS DRIVING" dat is far from d usual. But in between to avoid intimidation and self low time to time, from my angle I'll prefer u learn the use of map... You can take out 2/3weeks to master the road links based on ur starting point, how to link agege, ogba, Berger to island and as well how to link island to mainland. There's two major road, which is 3rd mainland bridge or eko bridge, when I started out, I was using eko bridge, cos it is easy and straight, but sharp riders murmur d hell out of d ride, took me months to understand apapa and bariga layout. I'll add the route to note when I'm less busy.

Long hours boss, and how many can give up their weekends for that extra 30- 35k. The high flyers you mentioned have no weekends. When you juxtapose the no of hours they put in, and the required break/ work ratio, its quite intimidating.
mazinaija:
High flyers like Ifeanyimark and others I cant mention nets 100 plus..... Am not even among the high flyers..... If only Ifeanyimark can upload he is if he still driving
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 11:09am On Jul 26, 2019
Good one boss. Clarification is not for those who are in the know, but for those who might see 100k plus and assume that its a given to make such when you are on the taxify platform.
mazinaija:
OK, here we go again, but i net over 70k after expenses, that am very sure.

That's your revenue ( your gross before deductions). Pls post the net . this ( the net) is the actual cash that gets to you.
mazinaija:
It can still be uploaded, stop mocking them.

OK. Boss. But then, its a fluid situation out there sometimes, you lose your guard, if there are areas you know. Please, post the ones you know. @ least having a foreknowledge of wat to expect minimises the chances of being extorted.
deedee44:
You can not memorize them all. Just watch out for direction parked cars are facing before you fully enter any unfamiliar road, look out for road signs too
