We, the people need a web platform to report police aggression towards the masses. A place with the sole purpose of sharing graphic pictures of abuse and assault. When the world sees it, our government cannot pretend not to be aware of increasing police brutality and not dismiss incidents as isolated cases. We have to expose and shame those officers before they claim a life. When there is accountability there is surely responsibility. We do not have to wait, we can create one ourselves with readily available free web technologies. This has to stop. Nigerian police are criminals in uniform, the worst in the world, the few that aren't are just lucky. |
saintmark88:A long winded way of saying 'perfect grammatical English' so it seems Atiku too has much to learn from this secondary school boy, like learning how to be concise. |
How many roads can the churches boast of rehabilitating, free schools, people they are feeding? With the amount of money churches make daily, Christian predominant states like the Niger Delta should not be waiting for gov support, in fact poverty should not exist in such states. Yet, the masses give and are not given. What comes first in the mind of Pastor Adeboye, a new jet or free schooling for all students? The money is not his to begin with and the decision should be shared. Churches are private for-profit instututions, Christians must wake up to this fact. |
Misguidance of the highest order. Islamic Univrsitities worth their title are free. It begs the question, what community work do churches actually use their tithes for? Profiteering from the so called children of God... Buying jets, fancy cars and humongous abodes... Jesus was categorically poor and supposedly died within abject poverty for the sins of mankind. I ask what sacrifices have the churches made to emulate the basic traits of their lord and savior. Why are they claiming their lord is rich ![]() Everything about churches of today are diametrically opposed to Jesus's teachings; shouting on loud speakers, coercing alms from the poor, daily mass miracles, charging for knowledge, method of clothing in congregtation...the list goes on. If Jesus lived today, who do you think most resembles him in teachings and practice? Muslims or Christians? |
How many hotels did 'this one' build? Lagos and Enugu are litred with showcases of illicit wealth. It never pays to be a drug dealer, you will never know what it is like to make wealth naturally and tranquilly. |
danxzy:If I direct you to a website of uncensored media you will not be saying only in Nigeria - trust. World events are much more than what you see on mainstream news mediums. Brutality is fixed in the gnome of all human beings. |
lepasharon:Barbarism is practiced globally my dear. Because you dont know where it is practice in the country you reside does not mean it doesnt happen. The West have a way censoring abhorent crimes from prying eyes of disidents. Even if a certain violeny crime took place on your street, you wont hear about it. |
All the thieves put to their untimely death are always called notorious thieves, espousing a form of understanding unseen in the modern world. So apparently only a poor man with nothing to offer can be a notorious thief. The thieving gov worker that shares a tenth of his spoils with his clan only is called what? Hypocritical use of words is truly the forte of many Nigerians. |

sar33:This incident was nothing less than a gross miscarriage of justice. Reading your views only highlights how inconclusive many Nigerians are before meting out their version of retaliation. Your account of the event is incosistent as you hop from asserting the age of the "man" being over 20 to repeatedly calling him a boy; writing in the first person as a witness would do. Either you know his age or you dont. The boy/man lost his life probably owing the lack of clear judgement by sheepish individuals like you. However way you look at it, this 'boy' and the incident are the products of a failed justice system, from police to judiciary. The failures of previous policy makers are laid bare for all to see. Nigerian police are not law enforces, they are bottom feeding thugs in uniform. Nigerian judges are not judges, they are they enforcers of cronyism. |
1.2 billion Naira is a minute portion of 2.1 billion dollars. The media focus on Fayose is clearly disproportionate. Where did the remaining trillions of Naira go? I smell sectarian BS with this Buhari guy. FG or predominate hausa gov should stop using selective corruption to target ethnicity. Where did the lion share end up? |
Talk2Bella:Such people know their way around the law and have escaped prosecution. The guy made the best decision to just say no. I would just like to know how he got the guys contacts in the first place. |
BeeBeeOoh:Government of wishful thinkers. |
ceaz4r:What can be said should be said before all is lost. When there is so much distrust, the only comforting force can only be the common interest - what each party stands to gain from solidarity. It is now pretty obvious that Buhari has ulterior motives in his clamp down against corruption. One merely looks at his team of advisors to get a good picture of who his policies are favoring and why. But to nag on the obvious is retrogressive. The question really is, what do the leaders in the south intend to do with such insightful knowledge come 2017. Will it be business as usual with the status quo, or will there be a coalition. |
Why cant buhari adopt the quantitive easing fiscal policy of America? Just print money, stabalise the local economy, borrow to local manufactures, stimulate some kind of internal growth... Thereafter, inspire businesses to build great products, subsidized and sold globally to attract foreign exchange and investors? Is that not what Germany did after ww2?? China after Mao? These countries didnt witness a miracle or billions from the US, infact Germany is still paying reparation to France and other countries (whatever that means). But when youre selling BMWs and Mercedes, foreign exchange is bound to exceed gdp. Nigeria shouldnt be waiting or clamoring for America to create $1 billion from thin air, they should be creating money themselves. Money largely is printed without collateral, basic economics guys. |
My dashboard is cracking, how much for a full upgrade with dash repair? Also do you sell rims? |
oyb:Avoid mistakes by buying in bulk from dealers that can negotiate. Sometimes you might not save money on the materials but you can on the logistics. A good developer knows where to cut costs. Labor is the best area to cut costs. Nigeria has many skilled youths that are unemployed. Unless you intend to build each of the 45 rooms as a luxury condo, believe you me, you can complete a 3 floor luxury hotel with 50 to 60 mill (inclusive of inflation). |
oyb:Maybe as a hotel marketer you believe standing outside the gates, grabbing pedestrians by the arm is the most effective way of selling your brand. I disagree. Number of rooms does not determine usage and should not determine energy requirement, unless you have a grand plan to start biggg. Again I disagree. A healthy business is one that flutuates during the seasons and logical forecasts can be made about. Hotels are by defautl a seasonal leisure. You will have extreme highs and extreme lows irrespective of investment. Going strong and then later realising that you are only as strong as your weakest link, meaning you are artificially strong; putting faith in high spending, is not viable. A hotel has to incorporate the possibility of a recession, where lending is caped and customers will ultimately reduce despite having 45 rooms. My guy dont denigrate location, be open. Some areas that lack exposure can make for better markets than areas wherin residents are exposed, finicky and hard to please. That is why being scalable is important. Scale the hotel according to patronage. Unless one decides to build in a restrictive areas, hotels are for the general population, which includes all the above. |
oyb:My guy act local think global. Starting big does not equal finishing big. Big dreams begin with footsteps. Big startups always lag behind grassroot small startups. I can complete this project with 100m (with =<20% increased inflation margin) budget and turn around profit in 6 to 1 yr months, returning investment 3 yrs. |
oyb:Those projections are on the high side.. Managing power is an essential facet of hotel management. Although, it is hopeful that all rooms are occupied from the onset, it is rather idealistic. Power generation should be scalable. Generators can be changed to reflect energy consumption. Buying a high end generator without the fact sheets is naive in my huble opinion and wasteful. Money can be pumped into more immediate concerns that affect consumer reception. Hotels are not judged by number of rooms but rather by the volume of people using its facilities. I have been to hotels with 50 rooms and only 10 occupied. Imagine the accruing costs from fueling and mainting a gen set with a 250kva capacity, see now that waste can be mitigated during the early stages? "Land in Yana Ipaja" is inconsequential. Its really about the flow of traffic that matters and not the name of the area, as long as security is guaranteed. Location can make or break a hotel. Some hotels in Lagos make high revenues but little to no profit because of mismanagement and wrong priorities. |
oyb:Man are you Quoting from Patience Jonathan's cook book for laundering? Building a hotel does not have to cost more than 100 mill including land price. Lagos still has cheap land on main roads. Star rating is not really a lagos thing unless one is targeting the extremely wealthy and ostentatious, which is already a saturated and competitive market... A hotelier can get by by attracting the local population in a cosmopolitan area, which Lagos has many of. Land 2 plots - 30m Building (exterior/interior) - 50m Power (generator, transformer, Inverter) 10m Running costs (awareness, stock, amenities, dj for 1 yr) - 10m |
masterpower:Those places you mentioned are now ghost towns because of the recession. Lagos is recession proof, testament to the growing population. Location means everything when venturing into leisure and tourism and opportunities are more where people are more. Lagos is definitely ideal for constructing hotels owing its fluctuating economy. Unlike other states that can stagnate due to FG fiscal policies, Lasgidi is pretty much independent and self sufficient. Lagos State pays its civil staff and retention rate is among the highest in the country. Those are the kind of indicators you should be looking at. |
When a State is incapable of paying its civil staff, it should be considered a failed State and emergency powers should be swept in to mitigate a contagion. How a government can pursue projects before putting food on the tables of those ensuring the success of such projects really tests an already streched imagination. |
Crude oil has always been in abundant supply, geologists know this; supply always outgrew demand, flaring excess crude to justify artificial supply level. Conglomerates and cartels create speculations to control a nations revenue from the product. Same measures are applied to other commodities like coffee beans. Wealth management of nations is necessary to keep the value of the US dollar afloat and relevant. My Physics teacher once told me that there is more untapped crude reserves than what has been exploited. Now we are hearing of companies exploiting shale for gas reserves. Our planet has enough fossil fuel resources to keep our lights on for millenniums to come. |
What a pure and utter fvcking idiot. Sounds like he wants somethiny... "child of god" Spare us the bible bashing BS... Islamic Agenda?! This guy needs to be looked at by a proven psychologist. Islam does not date back 200 years you ignoramus leech, like your christian and jewish dominated illuminati group. |
Flashh:She was being carried from wherever she was abducted to her final destination, hence the blacked out car. Blacked out cars are fully tinted and ought to be banned, considering the current climate in the country. |
Fadelex:Guy dont mind that quote. 15 mill will complete it, give or take 16-17 mill if you add inflation. Nigeria is filled with ostentatious nobodies whose only aim is to test your pocket. Its only if you have high tastes that the sky is truly the limit when it comes to budgeting. Keep your tastes inline with your budget and use contractors who do not carry a grudge against the rich. Be strewd and prudent, have a habit of going to the market 'yourself' to price materials; you wont regret it. Nigerias labour force is among the cheapest in the world if you contract them yourself. People who spend in excess of 20 mill for a 5 bed duplex will find 20% goes straight into the pockets of contactors. Im not a contractor but i have a wealth of experience. |
Saraki na mumu, see how he talk fg as if him be eu memba. If say he wan burn fg let him remember his clothes! |
BankeSmalls:Exactly what psychological complex are you suffering from? Even if Aisha Buhari is guilty, how does bashing her spell out progress in our judiciary? Where is her name mentioned in the report? When there's a report being published about the Haliburton scandal, you are totally free to bash Aisha and her husband Buhari. Please avoid hypocrisy. |
Efcc this is not mere euphamistic corruption, Patience Jonathan and her acolytes within the banking institutions committed what only constitutes as an act of invasion against Nigeria; surreptitiously executed. Plunderer. She really needs to be prosecuted under punitive laws dealing with rapatious warmongers. I cant recall Patience Jonathan being sworn into any government position, so why is she being given preseidential protection? Efcc need to arrign her on the basis of unjustified wealth. It seems it is only in the rich Gardens of Naija plutocrats that money grows on trees and needs not be explained. The PDP 'invaded' this countries under the guise of elections for the single purposes of stealing anything and everything. 16 years of robbery is enough to send the UK back to the dark ages. |
