Exactly my broda. Thia is why i love my state so much
Am currently in the south-south, and most times when it rains, we must swim home. Stagnant water will just be all over the streets, covering everywhere. And as usual, mosquitoes breed everywhere. Jos is just seriously unique.
God bless our beloved city and state

OP thumbs up to U oooooo.

But going by the pics I see here & what U said about the city, There Is no much difference between Jos & IlorIn.

Apart from the obvious fact that Ilorin is more peaceful & a bit more expensive
Bros, u cannot really compare Ilorin with Jos.
Jos is bigger than Ilorin, more developed than Ilorin. If i list the amount and calibre of people that Jos has produced, both indigenes and non-indigenes. Ilorin is nowhere near it.
Jos has a better and more beautiful landscape than Ilorin. The weather in Jos is fantastic. Its like the london in Nigeria.

Of course, Ilorin is more peaceful, because the indigenes of Jos refuse to allow hausa-fulanis dominate or capture their land just as d fulanis did to Ilorin. If we allow them rule ovee Jos, trust me, Ilorin will not match half of Jos in peacefulness.

the only city that is boldly written on Nigeria map. BENIN CITY!
for those who attend catholic church, the first mass in the whole of africa was said in the ancient city of BENIN
Bros, na Benin i dey stay. Am schooling here and there's absolutely nothing to write home about Benin.
Very unfriendly and rude natives, a lot of backward and diabolical people. Very tribally minded individuals. Even the various Edo tribes do not like each other and never agree on anything. Very harsh weather and unfriendly terrain.
Been in Benin for 4 years now and av had nothing to show to say this is the reason i love Benin. Nothing.

I am not a yoruba. And av sat down to see that igbos are actually the cause of all their problems. So they should stop blaming others as they are fond of.

Igbo leaders never complained to the british during colonial period that they were not interested in a one Nigeria. Perhaps they tot that in the event of a one Nigeria, they would dominate the nation, but it backfired on them.

Igbos should go and read the history of Indian independence, where Pakistani leaders like Muhammad al jinnah, cried to the british that his people (the muslims) cannot remain in a one India with the hindu majority due to fear of domination and conflicts and the British eventually ceded to their pleas and divided India into 2 nations, one for the muslims and another for the Hindus.

This is sinking poor Britain doing everything possible to hold-on to former colonies. On another thread sometime ago, I have talked about a clandestine cult of elite European white supremacists headed by people like Tony Blair, and they're working so hard to reinvent slavery. According to their school of thought, they believe it was a grave mistake setting former colonies free as it's making Europe poorer. So, this cult advocate for a return to some sort of slavery by 2050.

Unfortunately, when I try bringing out these things to enlighten our people, you'll be called a conspiracy theorist.

What's the purpose of the commonwealth, when we're no longer a British colony?

On the surface this appears to be the queen giving awards to kids, but believe me it's not what it is. There's something bigger behind it. This is about re-inventing slavery!. Modern slavery!!.

One of the British modus operandi from time immemorial has always been ''catch them young'' bombading African children with stories of the queen and images of Britain, so that an African child grow up and he/she would want to think like a British. Indeed, that was the core purpose of western education- to de-Africanize Africans.

I think the commomwealth should be abolished as it have out-lived it's purpose of enslaving third world countries.

I don't know what's wrong with black man in Africa.

Hong Kong was also a former British colony up to the 80's. But, do you know what China been doing since then?. China has been removing anything Britain from Hong Kong!. Everything from re-engineering the minds of Hong Kong people to educate them that they're not British!!. Educating them to think like Chinese, live like Chinese, eat like Chinese, learn like Chinese, be a Chines!. Just be in your own blood!. Even streets that used to have English names has been changed to Chinese!!.

China has totally cut off from western control and is indeed inspiring other Asian countries to do the same. This is how a living people behaves!!.

African leaders, teachers, parents should come back to their senses and start boycoting this sort of events. White man will never reward you, if you're serving the interest of black people. The queen will never reward you, unless British HAD USED you or WILL USE you in future. I think I'm going to blog about this pretty soon.

The same Britain that wants to strengthen the commonwealth, is the same Britain that is threatening to exit the European Union, cause they know the EU doesn't allow them be ''just British''. If Britain can contemplate leaving the European Union, why should any nation still remain a member of the commonwealth?

Are we brain-dead in Africa?
Seriously, what u are saying is really making great sense. I really really wish Africans would have a great sense a d true practice of independent existence. We really have a long way to go.

You are perfectly correct, but I will disagree with you on the last point. We are here in this world to fulfil God's purpose for our lives. We are here to use that purpose to bring Glory to God, but the fact is there are enemies of that purpose. If God Himself has an enemy in the form of Satan, how much more humans? Satan's purpose is to thwart, twist and pollute everything that can be used to God's glory, and that includes man and his destiny. There is no way I will pray for anybody or anything being used by Satan. Even Jesus Christ said anything that doesnt not bear good fruit will be uprooted and cast into the burning fire. ANYTHING.

The era of 'pray for your enemies' is long over. If you wanna pray for them, by all means go ahead, but as for me and my household, anybody who doesn't want me to fulfil my purpose in life, anyone who wants to keep afflicting me so that I will be too busy praying over my problems instead of worshipping God fully, then that person 'will be rooted out and cast into the burning fire'

"Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest : this shall be the portion of their cup."-Psm 11vs 6
Ride on sir! Am feeling u.
There is no way we should pray for our enemies.

Itsekiris are a melange of yoruba and edo cultures/origin. U cannot take away edo from them and neither can u take away yoruba from them. Neither yorubas nor edos are forcing itsekiri to claim being yoruba or edo. They are who they are.
That is just the way most Ukwuanis and most Aniomas i think just want to be. Let their igbo be part of them and let their Edo be part of them. U cannot take away either from them.

Can you pls shut up..igbo was not a creation of British. ...before the advent of British there was igbo ukwu, obi igbo and igbuzor where mungo partk died ...igbo had been in existence before the British came
People bear igbo names like igbokwe, igbodi, igbodo, etc
I believe u really did not get the point am trying to make.

Igbo existed before the british came, yes i know. But d definition of igbo before the british came did not include all the present day areas that identify themselves as igbo today. Likewise yoruba.
Only parts of Imo, Anambra and probably parts of Abia & Enugu too identified themselves as igbo before the british came. Ngwas, Nsukkas, Ukwuanis, Enuanis (including Onitsha), Ezza-izzis, Afikpos, e t c did not identify themselves as igbo people before the british came.

The same with yoruba. Yoruba was a pure definition of OYO people alone. Ijebus, Aworis, ekitis, egbas, akoko, Okuns, Igbomina, ikales e.t.c never identified themselves as yorubas before the british came and did the lumping up and joining up of similar groups of languages/tribes under the Yoruba or Igbo umbrella.
Only d hausas had their ethnicity clearly defined before the british came because Danfodio had already conquered and united all the hausa states before the british came.

This is d point am trying to make!
CultureRe: Culture Zone of the Middlebelt people by Nowenuse(op): 9:45am On Feb 06, 2016
macof:
Nigerians should have grown past this unnecessary divisions. they should learn from the Yoruba, and come together as one ethnic nation.
Yoruba and Igbo ethnic identities were purely creations of the British colonial masters!
Prior to colonialism, some yoruba sub tribes never adressed themselves as yorubas. Ijebus, Ikales, Ilajes, Akoko, Okuns, Egbas, Awori e.t.c never adressed themselves as yorubas and some of them were never even under Oyo empire.

The same thing with igbo land. Ngwa clans, Ezza-izzi, Nsukka, Arochukwu, Ukwa, Anioma, Onitsha e.t.c never considered themselves as ethnic igbos and even till today some do not agree that they are igbos.

The british failed to unite the tribes of the middlebelt because they wanted to lump all our people under the rule of the caliphate for their administrative convenience of indirect rule.
If the british had united us. The middlebelt would have not been ethnically diverse as it is today. And as it stands, every ethnic nation and subnation hav their prides and no one would be ready to submit to the dominance of the other, hence the reason why ethnic merges can no longer work. Only the colonial masters can arrange that .

Well, according to Nigeria's 2006 population census

For Tiv
Benue state = 4,219,244 (About 65% Tv)
+ about 200K in Taraba
= 2.94 Million

For Nupe
Niger State = 3,950,249 (About 60% Nupe) = 2.37 Million
Kwara State = 2,371,089 (About 15% Nupe) = 0.355 Millio
+ About 150,000 in Kogi (as Kakanda)
= 2.875 Million

Also, there are more Nupe migrant communities in Northern states compared to Tivs.
So, both tribes are roughly the same.
Haba my brother! How can Nupes be 60% of Niger state? Do u know Niger state at all? Nupes at most are 40% of Niger state.
Nupes dominate only 8 LGAs out of the 25 LGAs in Niger state (Niger south) and are found substantially in 2 other LGAs outside Niger south.

Niger east is dominated by Gbagyis/Gbari and other tribes like Kamuku, Koro and Kadara.
while Niger north has many tribes.

Also, U cannot authoritatively classify Kakanda as Nupe people. Yes they speak a Nupe language but they sometimes claim a distinct identity just the same way Gbari and Gade sometimes claim a distinct identity from Gbagyis. The same thing with Bassa people(of kogi, fct and Nasarawa state), Kupa people (kogi state) and Dibo people (fct). All these people speak Nupe dialects, but they sometimes claim a distinct identity from Nupe. But Tiv is Tiv anywhere, no divisions.

Are Tivs larger than the Nupe
Yes, Tivs are larger than Nupes.
Nupe is a divided ethnic family. Bassa nge, Bassa kumo, kakanda, Dibo, Ganagana e.t.c are all Nupe speaking tribes (nupoid speakers), but they are mostly classified differently. If they were all classified ethnically as NUPE. Then i probably think Nupes would have been able to challenge the Tivs in population.

Another tribe that could have possibly challenged the Tivs in population in the middlebelt are the GBAGYIS, they have a by far larger landmass than the Tivs. They occupy far more LGAs than the Tivs, only that they are also divided somehow too.
Nupes do not occupy areas as the tivs do. Their land is also quite sparsely populated unlike the tivs

Mr Man i am not igbo, not all of us here are igbos pls! I fully accept the fact that yorubas behave like cowards. I am from the middlebelt region.
Yorubas over respect and exhort hausa-fulanis. Why is this so?
Even some of we middlebelters who were classified under Northern region bein ruled by hausa-fulanis, yet we do not have any regards, fear or respect for hausa-fulanis, rather we hate them because or their born-to-rule character.

I see d reason why Ilorin will never be free from fulani rule.
