lionel4power: Are they special operations? Because they look well kitted.
They are mainly drawn from 20th Parachute battalion and 5th Kenya Rifles battalion plus other units ...so we would say there is a special force element in them. But I think the government does a good job in providing kits for the soldiers . Most of them are generally decent even those in somalia
SuperSixSeven: In reality NATO was never a geo-political threat to Russia. East European countries maintain small armies and do not have/host nuclear weapons. NATO only started to deploy troops to its eastern border after Russia invaded Crimea 2014. Russia always wanted to invade Ukraine to maintain their ideology of a greater Russia, this is sadly a proven fact now. That is the very reason why Russia never wanted that UKR to join NATO.
Sizzorkay: Only Western countries can turn bad narratives into story of heroism lol. Brave children took up arms, of course not child soldiers, which you'd think the West would condemn
68816419: Well, I was only being nice, kidnapping and killings happens on a daily basis in Kenya, the poor and lazy black Kenyans always target the Indians and the Somalis thinking they gat .
Kenya is soon going to have a level 4 biosafety lab. Which has been in the works for some time now. This is going to be the second such facility in africa after south Africa. The facility will be part of a wider network that is developing in Kenya starting with the Dedan Kimathi semiconductor lab, KDF biotechnology hospital, and Konza City and as well UON/JKUAT.
Just40: The fact that Kenya city center is an open air market of chaotic hawkers and motorcycle riders does not mean every country city center is like that.
As we saw in the BBC documentary on your city roads. See the mess in your city center and around GTC, car parked everywhere haphazardly
GTC is one massive construction site same as the expressway infact the whole stretch from Mombasa Road to Westlands is a massive construction site, red earth is the norm ...if you see the pics of the same strecth of road from 5yrs ago ,trees used lineup the whole stretch which is a different story now. I have never seen a single decent street in the whole of Ghana even the famed george walker bush highway is chaotic no pedestarian lanes no cycling lanes no footbridges chaos everywhere you still have a long way to catchup... thats why Accra always fail the picture test Ghanians are all talk but no show.
68816419: You meant to say the tiny Nairobi CBD and adjoining areas slowly becoming an international world-class ?
The mere fact that Nairobi has the highest concentration of UN offices outside Geneva makes it an international city. In regards to size, Newyork is just a mere 783.8 square kilometers
kikuyu1: Excellent find! Command and control under fire especially at nighttime which is challenging-notice the immediate response of army aviation. Reminds me of the narrative of the lone SAS guy at the Dusit. Everyone including those who should know better assumes insists he killed all the AS fkers and rescued all the hostages singlehandedly not the 12 or so AT guys who assaulted the complex and took 1 KIA or the 100 or so cops on the outer perimeter. In other news AS seem to be boosting their IEDs. See how the Puma was blasted onto its back. I can't see the crater but it was likely a 50 kg or above set of explosives. Look at another Puma wherein there were injuries but everyone walked away.
The Saipem 12000 - an ultra deepwater drilling ship has been on site at Kenya's offshore Mlima1 deepwater exploration well in Block L11B - 200kms off the Kwale Coastline - since December 2021 to March 2022.
Internal investigations reveal that it was a US Military officer who ran and hid in "some thick vegetation in a concealed position" for 12 hours until he was rescued.Their investigations applaud KDF and instead indict their own personell for negligence and poor training.
It has been a learning experience..at some point, alshabaab used to even poison water wells.Right now all water and food rations are sourced directly from the KDF food factory
After the el adde attack, KDF fortified its Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). There are about 13 to 20 FOBs that are used to support strategic goals and tactical objectives of the KDf in somalia .
in other news after a successful digital census, wildlife census, and an extensive geophyiscal survey Kenya in two weeks will be announcing the discovery of new oil resources in the Lamu basin, bigger than what was found a decade ago in Turkana, in what could be a turning point for the country’s dreams of reaping petrodollars.
Just40: so the taxis that pass there are not public transport?
The Dzorwulu neighborhood that I was in, over the past two days and too the pictures I took, you can walk for 30 minutes on the walkways and not find anyone else walking or drive for 10 minutes and only find one or 2 people walking on the walkways.
Yet the walkways are still provided and being extended to places that don't have.
Taxis are not categorized as public transport they mostly serve door to door . There are also residential areas Kenya with paved walkways but that doesn't mean all residential areas have walkways. Am only here to refute your absurd claims about Nairobi.
