This Bride has anger problems. And na man wan marry this one now? Jesus! Even her friend wanted to pay, but she still took the friend's phone. That's disturbing. The man needs to be careful about this woman who wants to have her way by all means and not ready for amicable / peaceful resolution or at least a de-escalation.
Klass99: I've never been married but the divorce stories below are the ones that resonate with me till date;
1. Anita divorced because her husband turned her into a punching bag and she was constantly lying to co-workers about her bruises. She didn't leave until her 4 or 5 year old son said to her one day, I will slap you ooo, I will slap you and beat you the way daddy used to beat you, when she tried to correct him for some misbehaviour.
2. Katherine left because her husband was becoming pushy and demanding about anal sex and she doesn't roll that way. I am glad she walked because the health issues associated with anal sex are not nice and he most likely would have dumped her down the road, if or when she developed such issues, because she was trying to please him.
3. Juliet left because her husband was a serial and unrepentant cheat. He started bringing women home whenever she was away on an official trip. Their two girls were seeing this, the older one asked Juliet, why do you allow or put up with what daddy does? It's like you are accepting his behaviour and saying to us that it's okay.
Let me just add this one, the day I have to treat myself for an STD and I know I didn't cheat, that marriage must end and it may not end well for that man either
Modified to add; Why are these logical gender people quoting me with their nonsense and stupidity na? You people think you have the monopoly of divorce in Nigerian marriages, abi?
I thought you also said marriage is a scam that doesn't benefit men. Why do you get so triggered when women are bold and courageous enough, to end horrible marriages with your gender? Shouldn't you be celebrating that one of your own has been liberated from the scam?
Wailing wailers, una never see something. If you like don't change your shitty behaviours and lifestyles in marriage, your own divorce may just be waiting for you down the road or when you reach UK, US, or Canada.
It's quite interesting that all the divorce stories you have shared up there paint women as victims. I'm sure you have never been or are simply not interested in the stories where the men are the victims or when there were simply no victims at all and both persons separated amicably. For some reasons, your sense of relationships is quite twisted.
slydog: I live in Edmonton too, another question I keep asking myself is how did they build all their roads given that more than 50% percent of the time the weather is cold/winter..
There's always massive construction going on in the summer. That's how
Please I have a couple of questions. I am a lawyer here in Nigeria, about 4 years post-call call but I have never practiced law. My experience has mainly been in sales and business development for about 3 years now.
I got ITA last year and I'm hopeful to land this year with the intention to live in Calgary so I've been seriously thinking about the best career path to follow in Canada and to start planning ahead now.
I have I.T. certifications as a Scrum Master and as a Product Owner (PSM and PSPO) and I also plan to sit for the Agile Project Management and Business Analysis certifications before I travel so I can pursue a career in I.T. as a Project Manager/Business Analyst in Canada.
Recently, someone advised me to not sit for too many certifications so that I am not overqualified for entry to mid level jobs since I don't have a lot of experience in the field.
There is also the option of studying and sitting for the bar exams in Canada and pursuing a law career as it seems that everybody is trying to become a Project Manager nowadays and the competition for those roles is really high so pursuing a different career path may not be a bad idea.
I really just want to know if it's a good plan to work with and if there are opportunities for young professionals like me or the possibility of getting a decent job, especially in Calgary in I.T or even any industry generally, or if there are better options to consider as far as building a career is concerned. Your input will be appreciated
If you have never practiced law in Nigeria, how do you plan to start out completely new in Canada with inadequate experience? That's going to require some dedication, especially as it's a new country and things are not going to be immediately clear from the beginning.
Writing many certifications should not be a thing that worries you. You just leave out the certifications you don't want employers to see when you fill out your resume, and include the ones necessary for the job you are applying for.
gidgiddy: I took my time yesterday to watch all three Episodes of the BBC documentary on late TB Joshua. A number on women of different races and nationalities, British, South African, Zimbabwean, American, Philippines and Nigerian, all came together to talk about TB Joshua
The one thing all these women had in common is that they once all moved from their respective countries to live in TB Joshua's Region's community, Synagogue Of All Nations, SOAN, and became part of his inner circle.
All the women gave horrific and graphic accounts of rape, underage sex, sexual abuse, physical and verbal abuse carried out on them by TB Joshua.
The South African woman claimed she had three abortions due to multiple rape by TB Joshua. The British women told how TB Joshua would send for them only to sexually molest them. The Zimbabwean gavee a story of how TB Joshua raped her as a virgin and underaged.
Even TB Joshua's own daughter came foward to tell how she confronted her father for multiple sexual molestation of women only for him to have her locked up for months and beaten daily.
I was also shocked at the Story of how the SOAN building collapsed, the lie that was told that an aircraft brought it down, and the coverup that followed as well as the 'fake miracles'
Even though TB Joshua is no longer here to defend himself, I believe these women. There is no smoke without fire. A group of women who live in different countries of the world cannot give similar accounts of sexual abuse by one man without it having an element of truth
I believe that TB Joshua was a rapist, sexual predator and a sociopath. I believe TB Joshua used religion to cover up the evil within himself. He operated as a man of God in the light, but was a devil in the dark.
I also believe that there are many well known men of God who are currently doing what TB Joshua did.
It's no surprise to me that some Nigerians don't believe the story. And I say some Nigerians, because I know that many Nigerians are reasonable and most believe the story. In any case, it's no surprise, because that explains rather adequately why some Nigerians are extremely gullible, so gullible they carry arms in support of the same politicians that impoverish them. It's no unreasonable, really.
Ovems: Hello, I have a friend whose husband will be 42 this month. Studied French in his BSC and Masters. Has been a French teacher in a secondary school for about 10years. What are his chances of migrating through the Express Entry route without having to go through Provincial Nominee Program since they don't have anyone in Canada? NB the wife is a nurse.
Cc @ GraciousWords ednut
Your friend stands a very good chance, but mostly under PNP routes. They could easily qualify under healthcare or under French draws in Ontario or Alberta. Your friend needs to also do some research herself. It's enough for her to know that she stands a very good chance. She should take it from there. Nobody will do the work for her.
Dude has always been shady. It's no surprise. If not for the gullibility of Nigerians, these pastors won't be getting away with these gross atrocities they commit. COZA pastor too is there. A full time rapist that needs to be jailed.
OnionBandit: I knew it's only a matter of time before their cup go full. Nothing like online anonymity. Every criminal transaction you do online, you will always leave traces which will lead your downfall to you or lead you to your downfall..
I was also waiting for this day patiently. Only a very naive charlatan would think that they can hide online. The only way to hide in this world is to not have any digital footprint at all. Being online totally nullifies that and puts anyone center forward in the crosshairs of government authorities.
Ross Ulbricht, the silk road king, couldn't even hide on the dark net, much less the public internet or stupid instagram where gistlover was also collecting money for adverts. It was only a matter of time before the Nigerian police go after him with all their resources after subpoena-ing banks and Facebook.
The darkest of the darkest loads on the dark net couldn't hide, na gistlover wan come hide. Dey play.
Finding a good wife is like finding a needle in a haystack. Honestly, single life don tire many people. But it's finding that golden gem that can make your marriage life better or just as good as your single life that matters. Women no be am abeg. They are all so excited about the wedding and all the glamour that comes with it, but when the marriage proper starts, just forget. If the glitz is not sustaining itself, dem don take off or abandon you. Make person no end up with selfish woman.
lga23: Hi house, I have a sponsorship application in process to bring my wife over to Canada. We had a new baby in September and we raised a webform to notify IRCC. We got our baby' passport in Early November and coincidentally, my wife's application was approved. We sent an add on request to add our baby to the application the same day along with the imm008 and imm1344 forms. Also submitted the birth certificates, passport bio data page and application fee for the baby using a webform. We got an acknowledgement that the files have been added to the application but haven't heard anything since then. I'm a bit confused if there's anything we missed or should have done. If anyone can help clarify if there's anything else we need to do. Thanks.
Wait your turn. Just as they had time to approve your wife's, they will also your baby.
I received ITA in May and my AOR is June. Afterwards, I submitted several webforms to include my new baby and I finally received the ADR for the new child's documents in the first week of November. I promptly uploaded all the necessary documents, however, there has been no subsequent feedback or activity on my file. The additional document section still indicates "we received the documents you uploaded," with no indication of whether they have been reviewed.
Interestingly, some people who submitted their applications with AOR after I uploaded my baby's documents in November have already received PPR. This extended period of silence is extremely distressing for me.
I would highly appreciate any guidance on the necessary steps to expedite the finalization of my application. My VO is CIO
Next step is to wait. It's not unusual to get such extended periods of silence. Look up the timelines for processing. If you see it's exceeded those timelines, then raise another webform to question why your processing has exceeded the stated timeline. Personally, I'll leave it at that if I were you. Everyone gets their turn at some point. Pushing it unnecessarily doesn't really help that much.
Ayinke93: Hi everyone! please I need some clarification on my Ontario NOI and the best steps to take.
I got nominated through the tech draw on the 14th of December, and while I was gathering information about how to apply, I found that HND holders with two or more certificates are not eligible. However, due to the scarcity of draws and everything happening, I'll really hate to lose this nomination. I considered making my partner the principal applicant on my express entry profile because we both work in tech and either of us being the principal applicant yields the same result, but he has the added advantage of having a degree. I did some findings and found that they mainly care about the NOC and Score, so changing the principal applicant may not be a problem. I'm honestly not sure about this and I've been dragging my feet about going on with our application.
While trying to create a profile on Ontario's platform today, we noticed that the part where you put in the highest qualifications now has more options on the drop down. Before now, if you click on two or more certificates, the platform immediately threw an error message telling you a minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, but this has changed has they now have options for qualifications less than a bachelor's. I don't know if they've possibly removed the bachelor's requirement and HND holders can now apply.
in summary, my questions are: 1. Can I switch the principal applicant on my profile to my partner after getting NOI? 2. Can HND holders now apply for Ontario PNP or has anyone applied with an HND recently? Please note that ECA report states that I have a two year diploma, three-year diploma and a post-graduate degree.
Thank you so much for your help and I really anticipate your responses as I've been stuck trying to figure out the answers to these questions.
I'm not sure anything has changed regarding the bachelor's requirements for this stream. I've just researched this and tried to look up the immigration act which is available here. The minimum requirement for the human capital stream is still bachelor's. Your not getting a notification there is probably just what it is. No notification. Because the original selection wouldn't have stopped you from applying anyways.
And on changing principal applicant after nomination, it's not that straightforward. You must ensure that changing the principal applicant also puts your total CRS score above the original cutoff value.
airsaylongcome: What value would verification add? Do more successful forums like reddit have verification? And what value add to the business would "individual profile beautification" bring? Understand that a business will only make changes if it brings quantifiable revenue.
Nairaland is indeed due for a significant upgrade. The fact that there's even no on-web chatting is already a big minus. This is something many users would want and it doesn't take significant work to realise it. But oops! You realise it's significant, because the site actually lacks the expertise to effect that in a meaningful way.
- In January 2023, my wife started practicing with Doulingo, just in case we needed French - After loosing 5 points and missing out on the ITA in March 2023, she made the courageous decision to learn French formally and dedicated herself to studying day and night. At a point, she had like 2 French tutors. - Mind you, she was still working full time. We practiced speaking French together, and I even downloaded various French translators so I could practice speacking with her. - I gingered her to write the TEF exam in June (3 months after she lost 5 points), but she was like, the average time to learn French and pass the TEF is between 9 – 12 months. - And I was like, I know. Just see the TEF in June as a mock exam so you get familiar with how the exam is… - So we registered for it and she wrote the French exam on 15th June 2023, and the results came out on 20th June 2023, less than 1 week later, and we received an extra 10 points. - Sharperly, I updated our profile, and the score jumped from 479 to 489. - One week later, we received an ITA (cutoff was 486).
Just wanna give you super commendations on this! Simply outstanding! I hope she carries on the French actively, as boundless opportunities exist for immigrants in the Canadian government when they demonstrate that they can speak French.
Tonto30: Happy Sunday Elders, I recently got ITA in October and I submitted my application earlier this month. While waiting for approval, I just want to seek advice on landing a job in Canada and settling. I am single and I am female BTW.
I work as a pharmacy assistant here in Nigeria, I have customer service experience too. I was thinking maybe I should go learn something in tech like data analysis, or is there any advice I can get, what I can learn that can probably make it easy for me to land a good job when I move next year?
If you feel up to it, then definitely pick up Tech. Data analysis is a good one. Make sure you are up to it though. Preferably get an advanced degree and do good projects to put on GitHub. Try to distinguish yourself. Opportunities abound in tech in Canada or even remotely in other countries like the US and some in Europe. You just need to get your skills and shoot your CV wide.
However, if you are a good pharmacy assistant and you enjoy that work, then by all means stay there. The difference between Nigeria and Canada here, is that you can actually work as a real pharmacy assistant, if you know what I mean. Your experience as a customer care person may also help you start out in Canada, because there are a lot of customer care Jobs for new immigrants.
GraciousWords: 100%...........just compare 2018 to now, % increase in the 461-600 bucket is in the thousands.
Looks like COVID-era CEC draws also led to student numbers rising, now former students with PGWPs are flooding the pool.
My advice to anyone whose NOC is not in demand would be to bite the bullet & learn French (additional CRS points wise and money wise) - not easy at all but it's the most rationale choice now if you look at the options coldly.
With French you'll still be ahead in 2 years time than someone who went to Canada as a student and completed a 1/2 yr degree and has 1 year Canadian work experience (CRS grid facts) and will spend far far far less money, especially now that the Student POF (excluding tuition & travel fees) is doubling from Jan 2024 and PGWP extensions are ending soon.
Alternative is to pivot careers and get a job in an in-demand NOCs even if only for a year (for PNP and FSW CBDs)
There's always the chance of a miracle but prepare like there's none on the horizon. Stay hopeful, pray that the odds will favour you more often than not, but please do the needful.
All the best guys!
#YouCanDoIt
Well said. The only problem is that it's not easy for many adults to learn something completely new after several years of leaving school. Learning a new language will always be a challenge. Still though, this is probably the best way to scale all the potential hurdles in place right now and get that coveted ITA. It beats every other possible avenues by a significant mile.
Afolavid: About 2 months ago, I embarked on the longest road trip in my life, it was a Solo trip (Alone!). I drove from Eastern Canada to the West Coast via the Trans Canada Highway. This trip is over 5000km and it's 3days if you drive nonstop (takes a week with normal driving), this is about the distance from Nigeria to U.K, the amazing part.? I did it in 3 days - fastest ever possible!!!
On one of those days, I drove for over 15hours in the 24hours I had to myself. The Mind-blowing part is, I was physically present in 4 provinces in a single day (Manitoba > Saskatchewan > Alberta > British Columbia) and I changed timezones three times on that day while driving. I learnt a lot on this trip, I saw the vastness of this amazing country and I realized I'm actually tougher than I used to think.
I had an encounter with a Black bear on the 3rd day. Too many gist, too many videos, too many pics, It's overwhelming! The trip is daring and dangerous especially for a lone driver and it feels endless. Would I do it again? Most likely!
You should have made a video and put it on YouTube. This is the kind of thing for the ages!
njambert: Hi,thanks for replying.Always get some solid recommendations from you. I mostly use the Console and can play around with easier stuff on the CLI.So yes I have alot to learn regarding scripting which is why I just started Python and will learn Terraform once I have a solid basis with Python.
I just got a one year LinkedIn Premium subscription to build a solid profile there.I get discouraged seeing most job descriptions as skills demanded are too many I can't comply.I have fears matching CV to job requirements when I really don't have the many skills demanded.
Python is good to know and could help you stand out as a solutions architect. So, that's a good one to learn. However, that shouldn't stop you from getting a job in the field. I know a handful SREs who don't know Python at all. You already have all its take with your AWS knowledge. Adding SA professional to it just makes you stand out even more. If you have SRE intern on your CV, better to change it to just SRE, with the same things you may have done, and your first entry in your CV should be your AWS certifications under anything like "skills & experience". Adjusting your CV is mostly what you need.
Most jobs posted online don't require you to have all the skills demanded. In fact, it's likely not "most", but "all" of them that don't require you to have all the skills demanded. HR & managers are known to pile that list full of unnecessary requirements. You certainly should apply to those jobs regardless, while tailoring your CV to reflect a significant amount of the job requirements. There's no way you can't work as a Cloud admin or a SRE with a coy using AWS resources, regardless of the skills demanded in the job description.
njambert: Hi guys, Just putting it out here perhaps I could get a recommendation or some tips. So I've been here-Edmonton(as PR) for 6months now.I've been self studying cloud computing.I just passed my AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam a few days back.I'm looking forward to writing the Solutions Architect Professional in 2-3months time.I can architect, know how to use some AWS resources and have knowledge about AWS services.
I have abit of experience in Site Reliability Engineering(interned at a Nigerian startup for a couple months) where I setup monitoring for cloud resources using DataDog.I also learned some web development(HTML/CSS/JS) but never to a high degree.Previously,I sold electronics and handled customer software issues for many years(this was a remote position) internationally.I have a BSc in Mining Engineering.Currently,I'm trying to study Python, and will be looking to get a cert in Terraform as well as AWS Solutions Architect Professional in the months ahead.
I am looking for any remote cloud roles even beginner ones to help build experience and handle expenses while gunning for more knowledge.Targeting roles such as Solutions Architect, Cloud Administrator,Cloud Architect,Cloud Support Engineer,Cloud Engineer,SRE.
Thank you for reading.
Your profile looks really good. You seem on the right path already. To gain traction, you have to just pick up the task of applying to as many jobs as you can, with your CV well-modelled to highlight your AWS certification. It's not unusual to apply to as many as 100 jobs before gaining interview traction. You may want to start with LinkedIn. If I were you, that's what I would do. Do you use AWS services with the SDK then or you just use the GUI? If you belong to the latter group, then you may still have some work to do to pick up good scripting knowledge.
I don't know why the focus of these chicken tech companies is always on expansion. You have barely started crawling, you want to fly. What was the motive of expanding to East Africa when they had barely gotten the business of the ground in West Africa? That's just planning to fail!
Welcome24: Dear seniors please help respond if you have an idea.
My friend wants to apply through pr because he is a francophone, but he is scared because he has hepatitis B for over 5 years now. He goes for liver and other checks twice a year and all his organs and everything is fine. Please will he be rejected based on hepatitis?
Please any information on this will be highly appreciated
No, he won't be rejected based on hepatitis B, as long as it doesn't put pressure on the country's healthcare system. Regular checks appear okay. Go to Canada.ca and read up on medical inadmissibility.
On behalf of this Isreal guy, I feel shame for this lady. What's with the clout chasing now? What exactly is she planning to achieve with a face so full of make-up? This is so shameful and disgusting.
