Here we go again! 2000 naira to a dollar here we come grin
Who are those shouting last week that the naira was appreciating? Poor economic policies don't get solved by borrowing billions of dollars and using same to subsidize the naira.

Seplat is a corrupt Nigeria company, regardless. Set up by ex-Shell staff to extort the nation, its reputation of being a Nigerian company which picks up the dirty pieces left by Shell indicates that it is a disaster for the Nigerian economy and society.

Okay lovely people! The results are out and in exactly one week smiley. As promised, breakdown below:
CO: 448 - B2
CE: 496 - B2
EO: 11 - B2
EE: 10 - B2

If you’re familiar with the requirements, you’d already know I have to rewrite as I needed 10 extra points in CO only, for this result to suffice. All this to say, please practice the past questions to stupor lol. It’s annoying because it’s just one section making me spend this money again and worst, the earliest date is June 3rd. But c’est pas grave, people have had it worse and they didn’t relent so we go again. Thanks for all your support and encouragement. Btw, would try responding again to the moniker who asked for the questions, if this site doesn’t ban me
It's an excellent result nonetheless. Good job! Looks like you are going to nail the rewrite, when you do it.
if you don't want to get banned, don't put accents on your French

The rude pastor couldn't even tender a clear apology. Instead, he's hiding behind the lady's lack of eloquence and attempting to justify his inappropriate actions. Pastors continuing to put out embarrassing behaviour as usual.

And so-called pastor said someone else wasn't eloquent. What about this letter? Looking crass and error-filled.

You're doing well. Why not come back and apply for the right visa instead of spooling the show for yourself? It won't take up to 6 months before you're done with your app whilst you still keep your job. You could be in Canada with the TRV for much longer without achieving your aim, mind you.
Many of those who make these posts don't realise what damage they intend doing to themselves by planning to run away. They don't realise it goes straight into your travel records and can potentially permanently wreck their goals of relocation if it doesn't work. And most times it doesn't work.

Hmmm
Was only a matter of time. The periods between 2016-2020 will be remembered as the golden age of Canada immigration. The number is already tricking down from 2020-present. In a few years time, migrating into Canada will be as difficult as a camel passing through the eye of a needle. Obviously, migration is growing at such a rate that it can't even keep up with housing and urban development, jobs, etc. It is in fact already making Trudeau and his government look bad.

This is not entirely true Sir.

My wife and two kids are abroad through my hustle as a bank staff since 2001 but I'm not resigning to go join them. I've got a Personal driver attached to an official vehicle. Got three lodges(none have less than 6 flats) for rent, a Fuelling station and also being involved in cashew export business. All these were gotten through contacts and connections at the bank. What better life do a cleaner in Australia have than me. The joy of being recognized and respected as a decision maker in a firm Is soothing. After spending years of reading and becoming a first class graduate of Mathematics, becoming a chartered account(ICAN), charted banker(CIBN) M.Sc in Equity and private finance, e.t.c, I'd now settle and agree a cleaner is better than me? No sir.

Life is too short to not explore and get to the top echelon. No one should be comfortable benefiting off others efforts we rather, have to try to become a benefactor to our own people and community. Off course Nigeria ain't really working 100% and that's why, even my own children are growing abroad. But sir, Nigeria isn't really that bad.

on the assumption that naira is still shit in 2,5,10 years time. Fortunately/unfortunately that could very well change with the right policies and leadership. What happens then?

I am holding the bulk of my savings in USD and I currently have a pessimistic outlook to Nigeria, but I'm not stupid to arrogantly block off the possibility that naira could appreciate with the right policies at any time. If I as much as read news of at least two refineries (Dangote and at least one other) being truly operational lasan, you can bet I'm selling that dollar stash pronto, cos I know what that portends/means.
Naira has no chance of appreciating in 2,5,10 years time or whatever. You are under the assumption that the dollar will stay stagnant enough for the naira to catch up. That's almost impossible. The US government continues to push on innovative fronts and US tech companies continue to grow in leaps and bounds, so much so that Nigeria will hardly ever catch up. Even if any government starts to implement the "rightest" policies right now, it will still take at least 10-20 years for us to start seeing some positive reflections of those policies. Economic developments don't happen overnight. We won't just wake up one day and start seeing the naira appreciate or Nigeria develop. Economic developments need sometime to grow, to mature. And the naira will also follow gradually, if it ever will. We can look around to see examples, with Ghana for example, where the cedi continues to lag. Honestly, the more realistic truth is that some zeros will be removed from the naira in the future to provide an illusion of appreciation, rather than the naira going back down to catch up.

Even with more than one refineries working, corrpution is so entrenched in the Nigerian system that it is almost impossible to see that make any sensible impact. The naira is clearly going nowhere in our lifetime. Neither is Nigeria. Honestly, you can't imagine the amount of damage that has already been done to the Nigerian polity, including the ones that have yet to manifest. No amount of right policies will fix those. Today, the naira is over a 1000 to a dollar. It wasn't rocket science to predict that. Years of economic damange and continued corruption did that. If today, pragmatists are saying that the naira will go to over 2000 to a dollar, they aren't being rocket scientists. They are merely predicting the inevitable.

Not again!!!

Unless he intends to return to Nigeria later in life, why the conversion? Is he spending naira in Australia? Just as I stated above, returning has to be planned now or else, he will be in Australia for the rest of his life, as flying to Nigeria would not be feasible unless he gets quite rich to afford it. Remaining in Australia for the rest of his life erodes whatever AUD to NGN conversion you have there.

His earnings and expenses are in AUD, stick to it. Nothing concerns NGN in Australia.
As much as I agree with you, I think you and others who make this argument underestimate the significance of this. The fact that he has more naira spending power is an enormous advantage now and later in life. This simply means that the option to relocate back to Nigeria to continue living a much better life at a cheaper rate remains open to him. Even if he has no plans to come later to Nigeria, the fact that the option remains open is a great advantage. On the contrary, not every oyinbo person can do the same. They are not Nigerian citizens and they don't know how Nigeria works. But for the Nigeria who earns in dollars or whatever currency and lives abroad, if he gets too tired of life over there, he can pack his bags, take this dollar savings, relocate back to Nigeria, and automatically become 3-4x richer than average. He can probably buy houses in a good neighbourhood and resume a better life in Nigeria. The option remains forever open as long as he maintains his Nigerian citizenship/passport. It doesn't matter if or when he'll do it.

You don't understand the great advantage this is, until you hear about Americans who are paying enormous amounts to relocate to Portugal or Thailand just so they can avoid Uncle Sam's break-neck taxes and live a more affordable life. As a Nigerian, you don't even have to think it that deep. The option is just there waiting for you anytime you need it.

hello, I just stumbled on this thread and I think it would be good I present my issues here.

I currently live and work in the UK with my wife and looking at the possibility of moving to Canada through the express entry route.

I hold a masters degree in Finance and Accounting where I finished with a distinction and recently converted my result at the university of Toronto.

I have a 6 years accounting experience, will be 30 in July and my wife studied French where she can write and speak French.

I also have a family that lives in Canada.

I understand that the information provided above will give me good points to move to Canada but I don’t understand the processes involved.

I would appreciate it if you or anyone here could put me through on the steps to go about it.

A link would also be appreciated.

Many thanks.
YOu seem in good position to get ITA and quality. But bros, nobody can help you as much as you can help yourself. You'd need to start on Page 1 of the Express Entry thread and work through what you need to gather as requirements. That's what everybody did, even those who had never heard of the program. Information on Page 1 has been carefully collated over the years by different people with amazing expertise. Honestly, I don't know anywhere else on the internet where you can get as much detailed information on this process specific to Nigerian applicants. I encourage you to go to the Page1 on that thread, read through, and figure out what you need to qualify.

Your wife speaks French. That's already a massive advantage right there that could qualify you and your spouse under the French category. You also have a masters degree. That's another advantage. You look set, but you need to put in the work.

You guys just dey open agent yanch for public...

On a serious note, most of the people that use this agent already knew they do not qualified if they applied by themselves so as agent paro with sweet mouth....
They believe agent can perform miracle with fake documents and they might scale through.

What prayer cannot do does not exist 🙏
I think it is usually the cost of processing. They know that if they do it themselves, they'll pay as much as 7-8m, with a larger part of it dedicated to the POF. On the other hand, the agent tells them to bring just 500k-1m and they'll do it. Of course, what the agent doesn't tell them is that he/she will use fake documents and that the likelihood of getting a misrepresentation ban is very high. In of all of this, the point these people are missing is that they can actually source funds themselves and figure out their application themselves.

Why is this one talking like the naira wasn't also subsidized while they were there and it was 150 naira to a dollar? The naira has always been subsidized, and even now that's still the case. Letting the naira float freely takes it beyond 2000 naira to a dollar in this economy that is crassly non-productive, exploitative and corrupt. The naira has never had much value, not since the 80's at least.

Hello guys, so I did a soft landing a while ago and then travelled back to Nigeria, while in Nigeria IRCC sent a message that I need to resubmit new photos for the PR card as my old one didn't meet the requirements(took it at studio 24)

Have 180 days from landing to submit the photos physically by mail. Also, the requirements state that they need to be stamped or signed by the photo studio with date taken. But as I am in Nigeria how can I go about this?
Read this to get an idea what you need to do. You just need to send new photos. Make sure to actually measure what the studio gives you and assure yourself it's the required measurements. If it's not, tell them to redo it to remove all doubts.
SportsRe: Meet Tunde Onakoya, Nigerian Chess Master, Wins 10 Simultaneous Games In Germany by NuCypher: 8:32pm On Mar 18, 2024
The crazy thing is that many people who don't play chess don't realize how much of a low effort this took. For a number of reasons:

-the participants were very weak players, obviously. They were merely participants at a conference, not seasoned chess players.
-the game wasn't timed. It's not blitz, so there was enough time to think as he moved from board to board.
-he is a much higher ranked player than most of those around the table.

This is no feat, honestly. If he did this against international masters at a tourney or against grandmasters, then I'll give him some props. But these are just amateurs who possibly played chess as a hobby, while the guy himself is a seasoned chess player. It's nothing to win all those games.

If he's so confident about his simulateanous chess, let him arrange against international masters, or at least go represent Nigeria at Tata Steel Chess.

Finally, there is no record here. In December 2016, Timur Gareyev played 48 people simultaneoudly while blindfolded. Think about that, he had 48 games in his head while he couldn't see any of the chess boards. He still managed to win 35 games, drew 7 draws and lost 6. Now, let's see him match that.

Nigerians are just uninformed about the chess. They think this is a record! grin

What exactly is your primary reason for wanting to attend a Canadian property exhibition? Do you or your company have any properties in Canada? Do you have any real business in Canada? Why Canada for the property exhibition? Why not the US or Germany? These are very important questions. You can't just wake up one day and say you want to attend a Canadian property exhibition. Regardless of the tens of millions in your account, if you can't justify your wanting to attend a Canadian property exhbition, I don't see the VO considering your application favourably. All indicators will simply point to the fact that you are intending to run away.

I give her free access to my computer and permitted her to submit my form on my behalf. It was while i was going through my files I saw those errors. She simply said she was sorry but the deed had been done already. My visa was approved. I do fast and pray, oh yes! That's what works for me. I had a friend back in the days . We used to apply together as students. Mine was approved and I went to school while his wasn't. PoliticsRe: How Nigerians Push Us Into Stealing* - Former Commissioner Speaks by NuCypher: 4:31am On Mar 11, 2024
Unsurprising!

In the city where I served, I stopped going to church because my pastor placed all the demands of the church on my table. Anybody is sick, call commissioner. Anybody puts to bed, call commissioner. Any burial party, call commissioner. My pastor even told me to help them rebuild the church and bring all the commissioners and governor to donate money. You pastors are terrible, Bola. Do you know how much stolen government funds end up in Churches as donations and tithes? Everybody building camps with stolen banks and government money! Bola, I love Jesus, I don't like these pastors!
And this part here is particularly unsurprising. A lot of stolen funds has gone into Redeemed and the likes. That's why these pastors can't call out the evil that the politicians do. Salvation ministries, abi wetin be the name of that useless church in port harcourt, is also a beneficiary of corrupt Rivers state government. Hence, their inability to call out the evil going on in Rivers State. Adeboye cannot even critisize Tinubu or his wife, because God knows how much is church is benefiting from the Nigerian state. Trust any pastor at your own discretion!
