Nice to see you here - again! It's not such a big deal if you are not going to church at the moment. It is more important that you keep holding on to the most crucial things --- placing your belief and trust in God Almighty and in Jesus His only begotten son; spend time to study Jesus' words and strive to follow His teachings as best as you can, the rest will eventually fall into place.

By the way, I still come to the FTA thread except that I only post occasionally.

Your brother has not gone to church in 8yrs. Why dont you invite him to the church you attend or you dont attend church services too. To fellowship with other brethren is very important and vital. Even Jesus did that regularly also the apostles like Paul.

Dont you understand those folks were not christians at that time. Jesus has not died then, no man was born again then. Until Jesus died and resurrected no man was born again. So that scripture do not apply to born again person(christian) today. What the unsaved person need to do first is to be born again, thats the highest miracle. That time they were spriritually dead but now any man that believe that Jesus is the son of God is made alive in christ.

christianity started after the resurrection of Jesus christ. Before then they were still under the mosaic laws. So pls show me where the bible teaches forgiveness for the unsaved instead of being born again first, the first step.

Were they Christians to whom Jesus said these?

That prayer was it before the death, burial , resurrection and ascention of Jesus christ? When the apostles met unsaved people after Jesus has shed his blood, what was the message? Just be asking of forgiveness or total surrender to the lordship of Jesus christ. So the sinful nature could be blotted away? To live in the river you must first have the nature to live there. The prayer the sinner should do, is total surrender. But God is a merciful God remember.

You should understand the difference between sin and sins. There is a different between the nature of sin and the conduct of sin. That was the point joagbaje was communicating that you misunderstood. We inherited the nature of sin through Adam. So when the bible says "All have sinned" It was making reference to the sin nature through Adam. We were born in sin. We were sinners by birth. There is difference between " All have sinned" and " all are sinning" We sinned in Adam. We are justified in Christ who was made sin for us.

A sinner or an umbeliever does not need forgiveness, but remmission of sin. remission is total blotting out of the sin nature. If a man that is not saved asks God for forgiveness, he can't get it because the prayer God will hear from a sinner is for his salvation.

It is a Christian that can be forgiven.

What a generation? People that only see problems without been a solution provider themselves. A christian complains mountain of fire casting out devils shouting fire but he has never attempted to cast out one devil b4, Pastor chris preaching around the world with curled hair but with his uncurled hair he has not preached to anybody for the past ten years, not even to his friends that are atheists, today miracles are fake or staged but he has never prayed for someone with malaria. Tb Joshua is fake but they cannot even fast for three days talk of pray all night.
How can people spend all their lives complaining about what they never attemped doing or standing out to BE THAT CHANGE.

I love the body of christ, we are growing by the day i believe. Weda someone will be discrediting pastors from morning till night i love them and chose to pray for them. Cos it takes courage, love, committment to be in ministry cos what people see is thier fine suits and shoes. Nobody remember where they are coming from, the pains, attacks and persecutions. Nowadays christian rejoice when a pastors wife die, askind foolish questions like why didnt he pray for her, kai. Christians dance when they hear a pastor is sick or his wife ask for divorce, what a generation!!!

Where is the love we preach about? Before i say anything about a church i check out thier statement of faith thats the most important thing. Imagine Paul rejoicing when Peter is in prison. Even when i correct or show people what they are doing that is wrong, i choose to do it in love, not calling people Zombies, Children of God. Noboby will carry me to heaven, everybody will carry himself there.

My father would have died long ago if not that he used pastor chris, my sister would have been that lost girl if not that God used Bishop Oyedepo. Weda Redeem, deeper life, baptist, anglican, winners, Cec, catholic as long as thier statement of faith is the foundational beliefs of christianity, i chose to love them and will not destroy them with my mouth. I will continue to pray for the body of christ, that we grow in knowlegde and perfection, Come lord JESUS!!!

Apart from what Oyedepo said, it is evident from the way he operates that he sees the church as a means of accumulating wealth for himself. That is the way he operates, he has amassed a fortune for himself merchandizing the gospel what further evidence do you need to confirm he sees and operates his church as a bbusiness.

How does he run the church? Do people pay gate fee to enter the church or is he selling salvation and healing to people? If members give thier pastor money, the pastor invests it in business and become wealthy whats wrong with that? It is a crime for a pastor to be wealthy, have not heard he stole money from anybody. Thats a big ministry and members give him personal gifts to appreciate him.

Was he saying pastors been business minded or using ministry as business, COS Jesus doing his fathers business was preaching and doing the father's will on earth. I think i will get the book to comfirm what exactly he was trying to say. Quoting a book from half can be confusing, question? what was said before that statement and after that statement, is the truth.

Water baptism is to be done by every christian. If It was not important the bible would have said so, even Jesus got baptized in water. There was no time for that man that was crusified with Jesus to be baptized, he was already dying. Every living christian that has the all the time now, should get baptized and stop asking foolish questions.

The word luck is not biblical but i believe in been blessed. Every child of God is blessed and favoured. But some are highly favoured by God, there is such thing as destiny like Joseph and Mary are good examples. Remember there is a devil out there that want to stop us at all cost, thats why we should be at the right place with God at all times. So we can experience all the blessings and favour ordained for us by God.

Where is the link of this story? Now everyboby is posting without asking cos is against a pastor. If it was something positive about a pastor people will start asking questions. Christians are amazing.

Has your friend or you ever payed tithe before? What is tithe to you? Whats your personal revelation about tithe?

You just dey find people mouth. For me, i will pay tithe and save live together. If it means borrowing to save the person but i will leave no one undone.

To make some elders in this forum happy, go to the kingdom hall. Thats where you will be taught that all other christians are false except you are a witness. They have scholars that charles trained. They will teach you that Jesus is not God, the holy spirit is a force, miracles have ceased and are fake today. And all of them are virgins as they claim. Casting out devils are outdated and you dont have to be a good dancer cos you can only sing to Jehovah without dancing and there will be plenty of gulder to drink. Remember Heaven is full and hell is the grave. Enjoy as you stay awake and watchtower. And one good point you will not pay tithe but love the brethren(witnesses) and discredit any other church and pastors and hate them and call them false every day of your life. And keep quiet when others sing the national anthem. Go to the kingdom hall today.

Every christian is called, immediately you believe the gospel you are to 'go' and reach your world for christ.

Jesus gave us a command in Mark 16:15 "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature". All Christians are expected to preach the world to every creature. When you are Saved and Sanctified, you can only reach out to the people i.e personal evangelism but when it has to do w[b]ith Public Ministry as an Evangelist, you need to be filled with the Holy Ghost then when it is to become a Pastor of a Church[/b], God can speak to men in different ways.

@ olu the gift of the holy spirit is for witnessing and is for every christian not only pastors.

You said you are not against giving in churches, so what are you against just curious. We need to preach this gospel on television, internet, satelite, print and any possible means. God gave his best for us, so what can a christian give that can be too much. Even poor people gave thier very last in the bible, people sold thier properties in the early church. The riches of the christian is to finance the kingdom of God, i dont believe in building mansions here and let the work of God suffer. Afterall we are strangers here, this is not our home. Jesus is coming soon and we need to tell everybody about him and our money is involved. So should we only give when is convenient? the remnants? or just give little and eat the rest? How and when should a christian give? can a christian give too much as long as he is doing so willingly?

Maybe you study from the bible what God did to David, Abraham, Samson etc. Sin is not just sexual sins o, what of pride, greed, unforgiveness, lying, lust etc. What of a pastor do not commit sexual sin but he is full of pride, God resist the proud you know. The saints are been perfected every day my brother. If God standards are not good enough why dont you open an investigative office that will kill any christain that sin and bomb every pastor that sin. Thank God man no be God o. A christian could look very holy in the eyes of men(virgin) but be full of hate and unforgiveness, malice and pride.

Sister or mother you said? Let me give you another scenario. You are a wife of a pastor in the same church as the one whose hair was being combed by a strange lady. You coincidentally bumped into a room where your husband is making out with a lady what excuse will you give for the holy-superman who will still go out and shake himself as before.

A christian ought not to sin whether pastor or memeber. A christian for example that is commiting adultery has a problem and weakness he needs to deal with. God do not like it and i dont like it but God is still merciful and forgiving. If such a pastor ask for forgiveness God will certainly forgive him. There is no place in the bible God said he will not forgive such a sin. But such a pastor should lay aside such a weakness so he can fulfill God's purpose without hurting his family and members. Thats why Jesus came brother, he understands our weaknesses. He is our high priest, What do you expect God should kill the man?

what do you mean by a lady combing his hair? The lady could be his sister or mother, so say exactly what you mean.

we recieved the nature of God(righteousness) so we can live rightly by his word. But if any sin he faithful to forgive cos we have an advocate Jesus.

We should sleep in the lord in a respectful way, not allowing the devil to cut short our days without accomplishing and fullfiling our God given assignment and purpose on earth. Paul died when he was done not as a result of charm or witchcraft activities. He said he has fought a good fight he has finished the race. Every christian should finish his race, fight a good fight and give no place to the devil.

A christian is not ordinary because the holy spirit is in us and that spirit has made us greater than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

We are superior to satan and his cohorts but if a christian do not know he will die like a mere man. Is important that we know,that christ in us has made us powerful. But a christian should not go around looking for opportunity to show-off his power for pride but like Paul in an unknowing situation beaten by a snake.
