Human beings like attention. Even the new electoral law doesn't permit a flagbearer of one party to quit his present party and join another party in the same election season.

Kwankwanso won't step down for Peter Obi. Many young people and Christians will be disappointed if Peter Obi steps aside for Kwankwanso. We cannot ignore those demographics. That's the twist we are in now.

Everyone should be allowed to test their popularity. If this election goes free and fair, I foresee a runoff for the first time in Nigeria's presidential election.

The North see Osibanjo as a more dependable ally than any other Southern Candidate.
If the APC field him as their candidate and the South rally round him, he is beating Atiku cos he's sure getting up the 30-40% of the votes casts in the North.
However, i don't see that happening.

Even if you put an Hausa goat on the ground, Hausa guys will select him before another non Hausa candidate

And to spoil the fun, Osinbajo is a Christian, they Northerners will only vote for a Muslim Hausa President. Even Tinubu has more edge to rake more votes because he is a Muslim compared to Osinbajo!

Moreover Tinubu himself still needs a strong Muslim candidate from one of the strong North West region like either Kaduna or Kano for him to sweep those bulk votes. And as things are panning out, it's very likely he will choose Kano, he who wins Kano, has won almost half of the North.
