I am also indecisive between BMW coja and 2011/2012 accord... Not thinking of any Toyota comparison cos have had several experience with too many Toyota cars and they are not balanced and economic as Honda counterparts Reliable Less plasticky than the 12 camry Good fuel mpg Less prone to shaft issues compared to accord of that era |

Peugeot 206 stopped at 2006 replaced by 207. Peugeot engines aren't expensive sha depends on condition of vehicle. Go price engine and other contingency that needs to be done, remove from asking price |

1. Since the documents are not in your name, when police ask who owns the vehicle, tell them your uncle or aunt depending on whether nah Male or female own the vehicle. You won't have much trouble with police if ur docs never expire.
As for road safety 1. Complete docs not expired 2. Drivers license 3. All your tires must be good and not more than 4 years after purchase 4. Fire extinguisher in good working conditions 5. C-caution 6. Jack and wheel spanner 7. Extra tyre 8. Smooth windscreens without any single crack 9. Plate number must not be faded or repainted 10. Extra fancy lights must not be present in the car exterior. 11. Bulbs for headlamp, brake light, signal indicator etc though the rarely check this ones.
As for the vehicle Change engine oil and filter for the journey, buy extra fluids for brake and steering, check the brake pads and the disc, you don't want to be driving that far with faulty brake system it can make or mare you. Check the cooling system too cause bad one can double your arrival time even cause you to sleep in ungodly locations.
As for the vehicle I have mixed feeling about it, reviews says its reliable cause it's more mechanical than electrical shares part with nissan Np200 or so. Just ensure to care for the body parts, you may not find it easily. |

Car Talk › Re: Nigerians Should Shift To Diesel Engine Vehicles To Weather This Subsidy Removal by nurey(m): 6:31pm On Jun 04, 2023 |
1. So the 8million petrol powered vehicles on the road should be sold to who?
2. With the inflation in the country who will finance the new vehicle purchase?
3. Diesel is equally expensive who would pay for the deficit of that? Then you are looking at low volume diesel engine vehicles, except VW group diesel gate vehicles abandoned all over US find their way into naija even with that, how many nigerians can afford tokunbo vehicle of $15,000 now with the weak naira, add custom duty and other cost almost $20,000 that's nothing less than #10,000,000 naira.
4. Most cars in Nigeria don't have diesel engine then yo even change all those petrol engines to diesel engine, parts sellers would cash out because the more the demand in naija the more the cost.
5. Converting to CNG or LNG would have been cheaper on the long run.
6. If Gov't can unban Okada, then a little succor would come to the populace. Most people would be using 10L in 2 weeks that's atmost 10k in a month but pollution may increase and Okada traffic plus very terrible accidents that occur on bikes |

You cannot get any brandnew radiator less than 30k, as the vehicle nah Toyota, it must cost well well. If you need savings on the new purchase, carry the old one and enter ladipo yourself waka about, any sample given to you will have label or part number confirm the part number from google and ensure it tallies with model year and engine of your car. Also check the hose and hook attachment and confirm it tallies with the sample you carried along. |

buygala: With load, those engines will work at a higher Rpm to move the vehicle..Higher rev equals higher fuel consumption regardless of the speed.... Given the same load, a smaller engine will work harder than a bigger engine.. And I don't need to go into what those perpetually high revs do to a car engine in the long run.. While normal engines are sitting at 2k or 2k5 Rpm at highway speeds, these puny engines will be screaming at 3k5 or 4k rpm, and may wail into 5k+ Rpm upon slight kickdown..
Besides, why would any sane person be doing below 90 on a highway?.... As in a clear highway.. Abi you don't know that going slow on a highway is sometimes even more dangerous than overspeeding? K |
Car Talk › Re: Subsidy Removal: Fuelling The Car. by nurey(m): 8:13pm On May 31, 2023 |
buygala: You will realize how much of a pain these small engined vehicles are when they are bearing any significant load, be it people or goods.. Seat four adults in one of those and stock just two bags of rice, and watch its fuel economy fly out of the window, and watch its puny engine almost strangle itself..
Besides what these fuel economical cars save in fuel, they take it away in price of their parts.. You don price 206 and Yaris parts of recent?.. Abi "Anti-Pollution Fault" never show you shege for those Peugeot vehicles ba?
If you won't become a mini petrol-head like some of us who will buy fuel for even 1k per litre instead of dropping our V8s, help yourself and buy a normal 4-cylinder with at least 130hp like the Corollas.. .You will realise life isn't all about fuel economy when you have to haul persons other than yourself and some luggage in those kekes... That fuel wey you dey dodge to buy, you go still buy am, even if you use keke, one way or the other. Those vehicle give 5L highway and 8L city if you carry load let's say you dey do 10L per 100km one would get 40L to 400km which equals yo 20k. They are still economical. Load doesn't actually affect those vehicles compared to trying to speed with them, anything above 90km/h fuel economy starts going down the drain. |
