I drive a Lexus RX 300.

It so happened that the battery started draining overnight for no reason. Eventually the auto electricial discovered that the cause of the problem was the radio and he removed it to fix.

When I eventually drove the car I realised that the speakers, the inner lights and the sun roof have stopped working but the major issue is that after 2 days the vehicle stopped engaging gear.

The car is permanently stuck in neutral "N" now. The gear lever moves but it does not actually engage and the light on the dashboard showing the gear position remains on "N".

Is this problem an electrical fault caused by the work the auto electrician did or is it a mechanical fault?

I have never had this problem before although I changed the front axle about 5 years ago.

Scan the car first but your problem stems from electrical issues, whether it was caused by the electrician we can't determine that but you need to scan the gear and try check all wire connections relating to the gear

Hi all, please I saw a 2013 Camry SE V6 but the only issue is that the car has a faulty ABS, and I was told by the seller that faulty ABS affects the transmission system.

I can buy it and install a new sensor, but please I want to know if it’s a good buy, or does it mean the gearbox would have suffered a damage as well?

ABS sensor having fault wont cause erratic transmission switch.

The transmission is faulty fixing the ABS won't make the transmission suddenly work fine. Your transmission should be U660 ensure you know the price b4 U commit

The Bill may not be too exorbitant as complete engine comes with other standard accessories like compressor, alternator, starter etc. If the link is genuine then you will enjoy that japanese engine, you can now sell the extra parts to gain back ur initial capital.

You can't tow a 4WD vehicle for 100s of miles, you will spoil the transmission and the rear axle. Use a flat bed instead.

Abuja to Lagos should cost about 200 to 300k depending on company ptofessionalism.

Heard v12 cars are insanely fast . for example your Lamborghinis and all..

V6 etc is about cylinders not plugs per se because benz has a V6 engine and it uses 12plugs, Honda city with the idsi engine is a 4 cylinder engine with 8 plugs. But generally a 4cylinder should have 4 plugs, 6 cylinder 6 plugs only that diesel engines don't have plugs.
So a 6 cylinder diesel engine has zero plugs

Speed is not only about no of plugs sha, many other things play a role in determining speed but generally a Camry or Accord 6 plugs would be faster than 4 plugs provided other things remain constant

If you are sure and he is certain form probing the brainbox the key was seen, then time to work on the PCM because if the brainbox was faulty it won't respond to a scanner

I recently replaced my car brainbox but the key icon on the dashboard doesn't go off and car doesn't start but according to the guy who programmed the BRAINBOX, it's perfectly programmed but he's confused why the key icon on the dashboard keeps flashing.


We scanned it and got code p0606.
Car is Honda civic 2009

The code points at Power control module PCM but also did the programmer program the key to the car? As you have changed brainbox I am just guessing he should have also added the key to enable the vehicle start.

If the key is chiped and not added no way that car will start.

What to look out for is mainly transmission, if the owner cuts corner by not using genuine honda DW1 the transmission will fail.

Please can anyone tell me what ATF oil Hyundai Elantra 2015 uses? This is my first car and I have no idea about these things. I bought the car in February and the former mechanic told me the ATF oil hasn't been changed in over 2 years.

P.S I reside in Calabar, and we don't have a Hyundai or Kai service center here.

Hyundai Genuine ATF SP-IV is the recommended anything else you are on your own

I just ordered battery charger and jump starter device. The price is more than getting a new battery. I plan to change the car in a year time.

Funny how most people think a cat delete would greatly affect fuel economy.
I've done straight pipe on a car and even took out it's muffler just for experiment sake and realized it doesn't significantly affect fuel economy (if there was any difference at all).
The only thing it did was making me drive spiritedly because of the Joy I was getting from exhaust note; and yeah it was a manual transmission which was more fun to drive with rev matching and gear change.

When CAT is deleted and no spacer provision for the oxygen sensor attached, then fuel economy would be affected negatively
