Hello guys, i just bought this MERCEDES BENZ just last week from a banker that is relocating from Lagos. The car is still very clean and come with an Abuja Plate Number. We concluded the whole Transaction without issues. All documents have been changed to my name and he never talked about the plate number. Just last night, he called me that he has bought a new car and he would need the plate number and i should please help him waybill it to Port Harcourt where he now resides. I haven't really given him a final reply, i told him i will get back to him. My question now is, does he have the right to collect the plate number after concluding the sales of the car without him mentioning it? Am i to actually register another plate number to this car? I'm asking cos i have never bought a Nigeria used car before. My Toyota Camry that i was using before was bought as a Tokumbo and i registered everything myself. Forgive my ignorance and educate me on this issue as a novice so i can know the next step to take. Below is the picture of the car with the plate number on it. Thank you

send the plate number to him, the registration is in his name not yours and they belong to him.

He would give you a document to effect change of ownership of the vehicle to your name and along the line you will be given a new plate number with necessary documents to back up the change of ownership

personally I have not welded the O2 spacer before in any of my cars, the idea of O2 space is to extend the space between the O2 sensor and the escaping fumes of the exhaust.

If the O2 sensor can bolt on the plug adapter, why not give it a try to eliminate the catalyst efficiency code. Then come back and tell us the result.

if I were in your shoes I will

1. check the transmission dipstick and check the color if black with burnt smell transmission has kaput.

2. I will check underneath and around the vehicle for loose wires which could cause break in communication.

3. I will find someone to scan the transmission for me. if faulty then my diagnosis to the problem is solved.

4. if your Rx is 4wd I believe you should have been hearing a grinding noise if actually the rear axle is the cause.

Honda Civic has never pulled leg even once since 1988 when the first models arrived Nigeria.

Any year you buy but leave hybrid with your budget 06 upwards then as for naija used ensure your mechanic inspects and do a test drive to your satisfaction

That Acura TL 09-14 I believe requires premium fuel, not adding octane boosters to the fuel bought in naija could cause engine pinging, destroy the catalyst and it could lead to engine failure.

highlander 4 cylinder 2azfe engine is known to burn oil at high mileage especially when wrong engine oil is used.

Check for external leakage around the engine area and underneath the vehicle

Then check for internal leakage by putting gear in "P" or "N" then depress the accelerator and hold the tachometer at 3000rpm while another person stays at the exhaust and confirm if smoke is visible.

There are more Camaro on the street of Lagos than the Challenger.

The Challenger is one of the widest muscle car I have come across. As for parts availability I don't talk to the owners.

For fuel economy depends on what engine is available in the vehicle and how hard you ride emm

It is a very solid vehicle and never dies.

It's cheaper because of 2 reasons
1. it was bought brand-new in Nigeria and was sold extremely cheap to owners by their COY because it has finished it's reasonable service year.

2. They steal it's brain box very very easily so most people like to avoid that model design.

I didn't want to comment though because I don't know much about scanners, I even intend buying a high scale one so I followed a recent thread here but the out come wasn't positive.

I am budgeting 30k for one probably would buy from aliexpress or just from local sellers when ready.

I have used the Bluetooth own even still at home but I bought mine from konga and it was a chinese clone, it pickup codes very well on engine, I can get my VIN number and details of my vehicle, my current rpm cause my sienna doesn't have tachometer and some other live data details.
The cd rom has android and mac software on it for your phone, I use torque pro.

One just need a small scanner to pick-up issues giving kazeem headache and you then guide him through on what to do.

Any issue pertaining to using high grade scanner go and pay a qualified technician to scan and fix, there are some DIY that is a no no for me can't come and kill myself when likes of Gazzuzz, radautos, oluwaseunla are available for a fee
