Depends on whether it is drive by wire or drive by cable. Scan or give a technician for physical inspection

Been using mine since 2014.never changed the belt but if you have the cash for original equipment manufacturer belt please do to avoid been stranded.

The major reason why your mechanic is insisting is due to the fact that most belts are fake and coupling to manufacturer spec may not be close so belt will be snapping every few months.

But with the right belt and good technician another 10years stress free loading

If engine takes three cranks to start and after starting the RPM is dancing azonto and you have to stable the car by depressing your throttle. Then it's possible you have a very dirty throttle body and dusty air filter.

Get carburator cleaner to clean the throttle body and change the engine air filter

If it's diesel powered don't buy, bad experience with one.

Better look for toyota dyna, Nissan cabster, mitsubishi canter, VW LT35 cargo variant. Those are common only big companies with Access to Car center buy all these kia and isuzu vehicles.

When you deviate from the norm, it's abnormal. Using AC so fan can always blow is abnormal fix whatever issue you experience if the available hands are overpowered look for better qualified technician

My 2004 model toyota rav4 is overheating, but according to my auto-mechanic, he said my engine is weak and due for change. The engine has worked for about 4years, but from my observation no blue /black smoke emissions coming out from the exhaust. There is no sign of leakage from the radiator, so he advised the thermostat should be removed and the AC to be always switched on , but the overheating issues still persists after driving a lomg distance. Cooling system ok
No leak noticed of coolant
No internal leak or external leak.

Diagnosis because fan was run direct, it stopped working due to burnt out relay reworked by rewire. If fan stop working engine go overheat you can't escape it.

If fan is blowing in wrong direction, engine too would overheat.

If radiator is blocked free flow of coolant is inhibited so overheating occurs. These are things you should check yourself very easy.

The fan fuse could even cut and the solution to your issue could just be you buying 100naira fuse and fix.

If you don't learn more about your car, mechanic go chop u left rewire go chop you right, panelbeater go chop u up and gurus go chop u down grin

The sensor you unplugged is not your issue. Normally I would start by scanning the vehicle and fixing whatever error generated.

For the sluggish movement and start issue I am suspecting your throttle body might be dirty or clogged. Clean it and dust the engine air filter. Next the fuel pump might be the wrong type and or the fuel pump filter is blocked, you should have changed the complete fuel pump assembly.

The CVT too would cause sluggish acceleration but issues with transmission should easily be known as tachometer would rise without commensurate movement and change to hear.

But above all better to scan car first to avoid trail and error

Mazda has no followers, parts are expensive when available. If you intend to stand out for 2 years and dispose off of the car good remember anything mazda very low resale value in Nigeria.

2010 TSX very good but I believe premium fuel was recommended for it compared to the predecessor.

Camry no much talk you already know it is good

Nissan xtrail is far cheaper to maintain than the FX35 interms of parts, technician and fueling.

I don't expect someone who has been in both cars to be asking such question as xtrail is low budget Nissan sedans in CUV form the fx35 is a luxurious sports CUV with one of the best exhaust note on the streets.

I have a maximum budget of between N1.8m to N2.2m to make a good choice between the two cars bearing in mind the following:
* Must be 4cylinder. It's the reason I didn't go for Honda Pilot.
* Durable and rugged
* Cheap parts and readily available
* Reliable

@Gazzuzz and other auto gurus, please help me make a good choice here.

CR-V because it is popular tested and trusted. Easy to come by the parts and technician.

The Ford isn't bad but check well for rust 1st after that if good to go, you can buy if that's what catches your fancy.

I'm most open to other suggestions different from the two mentioned.

Please after fixing my steering rack and pump my horn stopped working, I have tested it and the relay it works perfectly. But it's not working when I press the horn from the steering. Also the SRS alarm is on.
Please what can I do. It's a lexus rx300 2000 model

The steering was not coupled back well, return it, let them loosen it and readjust before bolting back

I like keyless cars or cars u can start with a remote; cars u can operate the boot with a key or button (my Mitshibushi doesn't have that). I like cars that lock automatically on matching the brake (my Mitshibushi doesn't have that feature too). Leather seat trips me (my Mitshibushi doesn't have leather seat). I love Cars with good sound system & GPS; back 360 degree camera; blindspot & close range sensor. I hate going to the Mechanic so I won't like to own a car that always have electrical, mechanical or leg problems. Since I got this Mitsubishi, I've only changed oil & 2 front tyres so far.

PS: B4 u start questioning my source of income;I must tell u that some of us women are doing well for ourselves & are real legit hustlers, joined with favor from God our creator. I have a govt job, do contracts & also own a successful business. I started a real estate company sometime in 2018 (don't ask me how) but this is our best year so far amiss COVID. I'd like a more presentable & durable car cos I drive around alot with prospective clients & families.

Pls don't refer me to range rover, Bently, Ferrari or G-wagon. I'm not a celebrity. I labour so hard for my money but also like good things.

Warning: Please no useless comments. If u have nothing to contribute, read & pass. This question is not for kids on NL.

I have handled a GX460, it has almost all the features you have except remote control start or push to start button.

I have never driven or seen a car that locks automatically when break is depressed but my sister's 06 Corolla locks all doors when you switch gear to drive and opens all door when you switch gear to P.

If the GX is too big you can try a Lexus RX your budget would determine the year.
