Normally, the entire car cannot be sanded by a sander, there are areas where only manual sanding can reach.. The front wheel arc has black mudguard and the rear is black and doesn't require paint.

I am only painting the exterior surface in same colour and will apply clear coat on sanded headlight and rear lights. I will have to tape/cover, windscreen and any black rubber/plastic including wipers, rear glass, windows and chrome trims, roof gutter trims, wheel arcs and tires, underneath the rear view mirrors, front bumper radiator vent, head light and rear logos. The rear lights will be removed.

Taping is the least job I consider.

Sading is the most difficult job while painting most critical. Most recommendations will say sand the car to the metal, this is never done by Nigerian painters. My car has already 2 layers of paint, so sanding to the metal is not going to be easy. The least work to do in the sanding is to remove the last clear coat. That's my aim. The other critical sanding job is filling and sanding imperfections. I know I have a good eye to spot them.

Toyota Camry? I would prefer a 2009 Camry as it would look cooler and the stance is wider than a Corolla. The stance of the camry can be widened and the swap should be a lot easier. Moreover, I've always felt a 2009 Camry project would be an interesting one.
What do you guys think, yay or nay?

So, my car is about 6yrs and the paint is in bad shape, thats apart from scratches and dents by family and friends.

The plan is to buy an electric spray gun (see image below), sanding discs for electric drill, buffer for electric drill, paint, thinner, clear coat, primmer, scotch tape and old newspapers. The panel beating will be done by competent panel beater.

My motivation is lack of funds to contract the best services for the job. Also, the cheap ones will not do a good job. I paid 30k for my sister's car last year but at this time, my car painted 6yrs ago is far better off.

From my reading, the main work in painting a car is the preparation (sanding precisely). Actual painting does not take more than 5hrs but the preparation will take days - weeks to get it right. I know if I Do-It-Myself, it will come out better. The only part I am scared of is the actual painting i.e getting right viscosity and colour.

Challenges:
- I am not sure if the electric spray gun will be adequate. The main decision is buying the spray gun.
- The Spray gun itself cost more than half of the budget but if successful, I may do 2 other projects which will eventually be the cost advantage.
- I have no experience in paint mixing or thinning
- I am also afraid of the job being too tedious or that without a garage cover, dust may make the job bad.

I Know a husband and wife using same brand, husband uses this Passat and wife uses the Jetta.

from my Observation the Jetta seems stronger than the Passat due to mechanic visit. but the cars never disappoint because they don't compromise on maintenance and I believe the part is even cheaper and more original than 08 Camry.

But the car get plenty sensor ooo to the smallest tiny part sef

Hi guys,

A friend of mine needs a minivan for commercial use, after searching for the best make to go for, we finnaly settled for Honda Odessey, we actually wanted to go for Nigerian used sienna but still, it was too expensive compared to our budget, so we had to choose between Honda Ody 2002, Nissan quest 2004 and Mazda mpv.

So after comparing all the 3, we finally settled for Honda Odessey 2002, we found someone who wants to sell he's, the price is within our budget and from pictures, the minivan is still clean but however, he said the car is automatic transmission and the only problem the car has is that it doesn't change/shift gear on time, but he said he will fix it and we will pay 470k for the minivan, but if we are going to fix it ourselves, we will pay 450k, and from the pictures he sent, I saw the minivan has already done over 224 000 in mileage.

Please am a total novice when it comes to cars and so is my friend, we don't want to end up with something we will only use for a few months and problem will start..

Please your advice is needed, is this car good to go for or should we run away from it??

if you can't afford the Sienna, it is better to buy the Mazda mpv than the Odyssey and the quest.

The Odyssey in question has a factory fault of gear failure for the 4speed which is 99 to 03 model year. The Odyssey body falls apart and doesn't do well in water logged areas as it start rusting by the tip. The car rear isn't strong for cargo hauling at full load your exhaust go hear am

It is advice able you rather search for Honda shuttle/Isuzu Oasis they are basically same thing. The shuttle is far reliable than the Odyssey.

The recommended oil for Honda Civic 2006 and upward is SAE 5W20 which is kind of scarce. I got the car last month (tokunbo) and it requires service. Please what are your recommendations

Hard skills isn't bad, been able to position and promote it is what counts. Gazzuzz, Autologic and co went through all this hard skill but they improved on it. Gazzuzz no fit lie say he no chop fan belt in his Oga hands

I've learnt a skill; fashion design. I know hard work pays. I'm currently doing my best to set up my shop but the funds are scarce. There's a woman I work part time for, and she gives me just pocket money but I'm not complaining because I'm using that opportunity to learn more.

Don't work hard only, work smart. You had the chance to make nose mask and sell during the lockdown in your vicinity I guess you missed the opportunity.

Learning several skills is not a waste of time but an advantage to fill the necessary void in your vicinity.

I can't even afford a Keke napep and I'm a graduate. No job, no money I don't know what to do again

I finished secondary school in 2007, no father no helper only God and my mother, I went to learn phone engineering and then computer engineering for 2 years I slaved and earned 5k monthly, gathered the money got something from my mum add it up and paid 150k for predegree and I entered UNi in 2009.

I used my skills learned to pay part of my tuition in University. finished 14 and served in 16 got some cash 1m invested in Agric and lost it all.

Got a job in Dec 17 as an intern, got good news in Nov 18 for retainment only for recession to hit the company hard and by Dec 18 I was told to go.

I went into farming with all I had, made a very bad decision and got thieves as labourers I nearly ran mad but never gave up, another big loss gone down the drain. I took all my down fall as a learning curve to be a better manager and a knowledgeable human supervisor.

Today I am not Rich and I don't own my company, but If my working place says Nurey we don't need your services again tomorrow I will pack my load and follow the handwork I learned while young and I am certain I won't go hungry.

my brother go and learn hand work and know your worth don't wait for government or God to give you job, work hard first and help yourself and see whether success won't come knocking. You don't need money to offer a service go and learn something and start from somewhere.

in secondary school one of my level class mate driver comes to pick him up in the ugliest car I have seen at tender age it's that jaguar Xj 1990s model with V8 engine, I just know it has cream leather seat and Formica and the knobs well placed but I didn't know much about cars then so I judged it from the outward look
