PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri Replies Olu Okeowo: Is The SouthWest Just Area Boys & Fake Pastors? by OasisT: 9:06am On May 11, 2021
I would have kept quiet on these your I'll informed statements but you need to know that Reno wrote his opinion.
1. When you want to argue, you do that with facts comparatively. What is the population of the south east and what is the population of the south west ? How many PhDs do they have? What is school enrollment figures in both regions?

2. There are some things the yorubas don't attach important to unlike the south east and such thing is academics and achievement because they see it as normal thing and nothing to freak about. ( Do you know there is Uranium in part of Ekiti State that is even yet to be tapped? and also the biggest bitumen deposit in Africa if not in the world that is also yet to be tapped?)

3. The South East is unique in its own way likewise the North. The problem is the lack of visionary leaders. Many youths in the north and west are fanatic disciples of Nnamdi KANU than the Igbos while many Igbos are fanatically supporting Igboho.

4. Lastly, I believe the country is ripe for Regional government or divide to promote cohesion and unity. People are disgruntled because they believe the government is not there for them. For a country of over 200m people to be maintained with a budget less than 50% of the budget of a country like South Africa show how myopic our leaders are. Don't abuse any tribe you know little or nothing about.
mancoconut:
Loads of rubbish, even in your region most of the notable academicians in your academic institutions were Igbo, I believe the first VC from the University of Ibadan was Kenneth Dike? How come Igbos produced majority of the best brains in the areas of civil service and other top Federal ministerial jobs during the first republic according to records even confirmed by the British? how come the best educated crop of military officers and NCO's at the time who were Sandhurst trained and educated were mainly Igbos (once again confirmed by the British in all their classifications of the various regions on the merit of facts and records)?, the fear of Igbo domination wasn't only prevalent in the North but also had significant inroads in the Westeen region (otherwise the famous "Yoruba ronu" anti Igbo speech by Akintola wouldn't have been birthed).

Currently (if you want to go by present statistics), all the best performing states that have topped the index in all the national exam indices over the past years have been SE states, bring me any (and I triple dare you) any current stats that shows all the SW states outperform the SE states on any academic level both home and abroad and I'll forever hold my peace, it's not enough to blab without presenting your facts!
PoliticsRe: Zonal Congresses: PDP Seeks To Dislodge APC, Return To Power In 2023 by OasisT: 8:42am On Apr 13, 2021
The last has not been heard about the south west congress. The other factions will fight back. Fayose was displaced but don't forget he was once a member of ACN. He won't bow to Olujimi and won't collapse his structure for another person. The state chairmen too will struggle to mingle or work with / for Arapaja who migrated to PDP from APC. For PDP to maintain the one state as it stands will need a lot of behind the scene settlements. I just wish Makinde will see the handwritten on the wall and correct himself so that he won't go Ambode' way . A leader should be magnanimous and benevolence. The same path Fayose throd as a governor and picked fights with Obasanjo and Bode George that same route Makinde is presently .

I am not a fan or member of APC but PDP is not ready for 2023 and 2027 elections because they are more like CPC

[quote author=Sirjamo post=99998530]1. This was just a speach by the military governor, not the law enacted to change the status of the schools.

2. The speech was delivered in 1972 not 74. I assume ( Not sure) the last time schools status were changed was 1974.

3. If these conditions were still relevant and backed by the law, where did the high court and appeal court get the legal backing to rule in favor of hijab?

4. Why are Christians afraid of hijab in a predominantly Yoruba state like Kwara?

There's no basis for any Christian to condemn hijab in Kwara state due to the following reasons:

a. Kwara and all Yoruba States has no record of hijab wearing suicide bomber.

b. Hijab is not new to Christianity. Catholic sisters wear something very similar.

c. Hijab depicts morality, is Christianity no longer a moral religion?

d. Hijab is optional even to the Muslims, no one is forcing the Christians to wear it.

I AM DONE TALKING

There are many things that you are not getting correctly and they are as follows:

1. In most of the SW states, there is no extended family where you don't have Christians , Muslims and traditionalists

2. The SW is more of secular states than many regions in Nigeria.

3. There is no hate between the Christians and Muslims but the government policy is pitching them against each other

4. Most of these schools are located in church premises and as such are saying that people should allow hyjab in the church ?

5. Can a Christian female student dress casually to attend a school docile in the mosque?

6. By approving the hyjab, the government has placed Islam above other religion and such giving special waiver for their female students to dress the way they like

7. Are you saying the traditionalists can dress according to their religion to school .

8 . The Saraki family had the influence and temerity to do that controversial stunt but rather took the path of peace and the state was adjudged one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria ( unverified).

9. Don't be a slave to religion but know that it just a way to worship God. Aregbe tried and it backfired, Zamfara started the sharia law and we can see how it went .

In conclusion, religion will not guarantee good governance, it will not put food on the table , it will not make you better than your neighbors and The Almighty God is not interested in religion. God is love and those that must worship him must love.
PoliticsRe: Loads Of Foodstuffs Going To South Intercepted At Aminu Kano Airport (Photos) by OasisT: 8:50pm On Mar 02, 2021
Sorry, have you asked yourself in all fairness how it all startes? I am 100% against the killing of the northerners but why many northern elites turned blind eyes to the killings, raping and kidnappings in the southern part of the country?

If the presidency acted faster and fairly we won't find ourselves in the present situation. Blocking food supplies make me laugh. People are already abandoning suya and kilish still you are starving low patronages.

You know why the southerners are not bothered, because they have prepared themselves down for these eventualities and you have turned MNK and Ighogho to hero. I only pity whosoever that will be the next President of the country because the first 2yrs will be to reconcile people. Wake up from the denials, southerners don't depend on the food supplies from the north but only respect the northerners as their brothers and sisters . Stop the arrogance!!!!

Kingdemu:
The food marketers exporting foods to the south have legitimate concerns to embark on a strike. However, it's crazy to prolong it for long which is likely to create a humanitarian catastrophe. I have lost a friend who was a driver, transporting onions during the recent massacre of Hausa people in Ibadan, and I support every step taken by the union to protect their members from jungle justice mostly perpetrated by anarchists who have nothing to lose even if the country is plunged into a serious crisis. The government must step in, allay their fears and punish the hoodlums who often attack Hausa food markets whenever anti-Hausa sentiments reach an apogee.

Almost 98% of the meat consumed in the south come from Arewa, and the northerners account for more than 70% net exporters of onions, maize, rice millets and other critical cereal crops that are vital for food industries to survive. Attacking the drivers for transporting foods to the south , killing cattle rearers and rustle their cows are the issues that need to be resolved. This standoff is a stark reminders that the North despite its depleting agricultural outputs still has leverages and those who think the region is a parasite needs to think twice.

BusinessRe: Central Bank Of Nigeria New Directive On Money Transferred To Nigeria by OasisT: 7:12pm On Dec 19, 2020
BDC and banks source their dollars from CBN and it won't be a problem if the players are sincere about the policy

onatisi:
it wont , infact it will compound the problem , very soon when the problem starts , cbn will again change the policy , they have done it before and it didn't work . the problem of our exchange has got nothing much to do with the banks , the problem has mainly to do with our foreign earnings which has dipped drastically . and that is what is causing fx scarcity . except wu , money gram and co will be flying in their dollars in from america or wherever i dont see how they will have enough dollars to be giving to the people . it will get to a point , they will be telling customers , no dollars come back tomorrow , and ppl will be forced to collect naira .
this is just my own opinion though
BusinessRe: Central Bank Of Nigeria New Directive On Money Transferred To Nigeria by OasisT: 7:01pm On Dec 19, 2020
bigtt76:
Exactly but a bad policy.

1. It's recognizing the black market and legit helping to channel forex there.

2. The black market would get saturated at a point in time because no business man or woman would go there to source forex for business and the black marketers would not sell to the banks at the CBN rate

3. Naira in circulation would be mopped up at a point in time resulting in the dollarization of the economy (no one would want tk be paid in naira)

4. At the end of the day, beneficiaries would have no option but to exchange with the banks or hoard in their domiciliary accounts.

I beg to disagree with your points, what will happen is that the law of demand and supply will force the agents to be competitive and also help the floating policy to work better.

It will boost the naira value because hoarding will have no place unlike before when the bankers dictate to you what rate they want to give you .

The bankers will frustrate it with "no cash to pay" antics. That is my only fear

Don't you think that Umahi might be doing this to give a strong backing to the only qualified Igbo man who is Ogbonnaya Onu an indigene of Ebonyi State. The best Igbo can do is to divide their governors to both APC and PDP and present Peter Obi ( PDP) and Ogbonnaya Onu ( APC) but expecting it on platter of gold will not work. I expect them to be rooting for Onu now so that APC will be boxed to a corner and the issue of no Igbo is ripe will be silenced

I will conclude that whatever happens, Obaseki did not manage the 2016 victory well and the result pushed him out of APC. If he dares do that in PDP, he will not last 2 years in power. He should ask himself very honest question " Apart from being a governor, how strong is he politically ?". It is obvious Philip will go back to APC someday but this election is the definition of Obaseki as a politician.

He deliberately dodged promising the central support in 2024 to produce the next governor and that will speak volume tomorrow from the result that will come out

PoliticsRe: Edo Election: Battleground, Comfort Zone; How Obaseki, Ize-Iyamu Stand Across LG by OasisT: 11:04am On Sep 18, 2020
It will be hard for PDP because most of the bigwigs given supports are not from Edo. The influence of Capt Hosa and POI will weaken the Obaseki endeavors coupled with the fact that he did not do more on infrastructures like the predecessor. Most of the political foot soldiers don't trust him.

Edo Central won't 100% for him but likely 60-40 because of the influence of party structure of APC that didn't go with him in that area.

Edo North won't be 100% for APC but that is where massive make up will happen and Shuaibu will be tamed in Jattu.

The senatorial elections PDP is talking about and last presidential was intentionally allowed to mock Obaseki and draw him to the discussion table in which he turned bad eyes to.

Tomorrow is pregnant and expect more drama before Saturday morning. My prayer is that the best out of the 2 wrongs will win irrespective of their parties

If Nigeria is a country of over 200million people, what is the population of your country? What you don't understand is that less than 10% of Nigerians are overseas and the other ones are not dying of hunger. The complains of Nigerians are only based on the resources the country is blessed with and what they are getting. I am proud to be a Nigerian.

In case you are not told, a south African company named ESS was chased out of Chevron location ( EGTL, Escravos) because of fraud and sharp practices. One of your biggest brands( MTN) was discovered to be engaging in fraudulent acts and the company was heavily fined. So, you still think you have moral right to mock Nigerians?

Few months ago, you country was down economically that you needed a Nigerian economist to help you out. My country is blessed with human resources more than all other countries in Africa combined. Tell me 10 great persons to ever "come out" of southern Africa and I will mention 100 from Nigeria. Thread softly !!!

In every country there are criminals but that don't make those countries less than others. While others believe in Pan Africanism, I don't because of people like you. Up till this moment, Ghana is no match to Nigeria and that they know. Your President is worse than ours but we are less concern
