Bimpe29:What's the wrong in what Danjuma said? |
LibertyRep:7 girls chosen, all 7 had to be virgins, and all were to adorn white robes while sweeping the compound with 7 palm branches. To me, that in itself is a spiritual exercise; or did you expect the girls to be slaughtered and their blood spilled across before you agree the exercise has some spiritual significance? |
Madness comes in different forms. But due to our indulgence in religion and spirituality, people tend to confuse symptoms of madness. Anyway, regarding the cleansing exercise, are they even sure the 7 chosen girls were truly virgins? ![]() |
sujexy:What exactly is the business of an archbishop in pitching tent with a particular aspirant out of many? Someone who's supposed to be a father to all? Meanwhile, I can already see some people who praised the archbishop as a mini-god 2 weeks ago now call him unprintable names... Political comedy ! |
Pinkyposh:Something we all need to to learn is that just as all fingers aren't equal, so also is the ability of each individual to withstand depression different. That Mr A was able to struggle and persevere for 5 years or 8 attempts before getting an admission, that isn't an assurance that Mr B will be able to withstand the same depression. Something else I realised about this story is that the boy is a victim of the horrible quota system we practice in Nigeria cos the boy was said to actually get a good score in his first 2 attempts but couldn't get admitted. Such a sad end! |
sammy4life1:Na wa for Nigerian officials.... Even the way the man made the statement, you just know he's mumbling rubbish. When would we ever have responsible and learned people in positions of authority in this country? ![]() |
Sad story! There's nothing as bad as trying one's utmost best but still not being able to achieve the coveted price; it's even worse when those around cannot just understand when a person has stretched themselves to their elastic limit but still go ahead to destructively blast the person and kill their spirits and will to live. Looking at this story from another angle, the boy is probably a victim of the rotten system we have in Nigeria which rewards mediocrity and discourages hard work; the story says the boy passed JAMB in his first 2 attempts but couldn't get any admission most probably due to the senseless quota system of admission which we still practice in Nigeria. Anyway, now the boy is gone, I hope the mother and other parents out there have learnt a lesson from this; we need to be sympathetic to the emotional trials of others. |
TolaTosin:Nothing which is managed by government, not a single enterprise operated by government works in Nigeria. So firstly, I think the lawmakers are just playing ostrich on this due to the beautifully delivered speech by Natasha Akpoki. The truth of the matter is that Ajaokuta Steel, even if completed, will NEVER function profitably under the Nigerian government just like every other government owned enterprise; it will continue to remain a liability to the government forever instead of a profit making venture and billions will be pumped into it just the way successive governments keep pumping money into maintainance of refineries in every budget. After dissecting the beautifully delivered speech by Natasha, all I could pick out of it was that in the usual Nigerian fashion, a rogue concessioning process was about to be executed with cronies buying off the company at ridiculous prices. In my opinion, what the lawmakers should be focused on should be to ensure that the concessioning should be done in a proper and patriotic manner; the idea to stop the concessioning is ill thought and would ensure ASC remains a metallic scrap yard for life. |
I hear this story up to 5 years ago. So it's still a 'plan'? |
Obinwenite:So what is your suggested solution to the problem sir?.... Gates made a statement, Rufai faulted Mr Gates and corrected the statement. But you instantly faulted Rufai and automatically assumed Mr Gates must be 100% right? Could it be because he isnt Nigerian or cos he's white?... How exactly does Rufai's statement amount to playing politics? Rufai has simply said the EPRG isnt the problem as Gates pointed, but rather, the implementation at the state level which is where most of the human development really should take place. In my opinion, that makes sense but you simply just dismissed it without giving it a thought. Nigeria needs physical capital development as much as it needs development in human capital, and it is almost impossible to develop human capital without firstly putting certain basic physical things in place. For a moment, just imagine, how can you develop anything in a country when a most basic physical issue like power supply or access roads hasnt been sorted? There's a reason why every FG in Nigeria since 1999 has focused mainly on physical capital (even though implementation has always been poor). In summary, just like someone mentioned above, Gates means well, but he certainly doesnt understand the peculiarities of Nigeria, he doesnt understand the extent of rot in our physical infrastructure. |
“According to the girls, they were release because they were Muslims. Is it a crime to become a Christian in Nigeria? President Buhari should tell the whole world ” CAN said. The way every matter in nigeria is instantly shifted and turned into politics of 'us vs them' these days is sickening. It totally defeats the chances of any meaningful discussion. Urging the president to do something about the remaining kidnapped girl is the sensible thing expected of everyone. But then, I'm struggling to understand the motive behind the bolded statement above. Was it the president that kidnapped or asked the terrorists to abduct and not release the Christian girl. Twisting the statement by asserting that the president isnt doing anything because she is a Christian, and alleging that the president is trying to crush Christianity, it just waters down the value of the statement by CAN and turns this issue into another political matter. And then again, extending the missiles to Osinbajo who is only a powerless VP?... |
DeadRat:You didnt pray this prayer against the bokoharam members, but na buhati you know. Was it buhati that kidnapped the girl? |
Lol... who dash prophet Jerry plane? The jet was probably hired for a trip. All these bloggers sef... |
Joelsblog: ![]() Ma guy woz the armed robber slap, na so director shout 'cut cut' ![]() |
What exactly would a lady use an engagement ring for if she isnt engaged to the man who got her the ring? |
bonechamberlain:Like I said before, save this your clever diversions for foreigners; neither of us here is new to English language. When you say northern Christians are in trouble under THIS government, even an elementary pupil can sniff out the comparison in the simple statement to be that northern Christians under 'other' governments were probably safer. So please stop acting like anyone here is new to English. |
bonechamberlain:Bro quit trying to be too clever or outsmart yourself. You mentioned that Christians in the north were in serious trouble under 'this govt'. That statement is unequivocally a comparison statement between this govt and its predecessors; of which there is a 99.9% chance you were indirectly comparing with pdp, and not just pdp but the immediate past pdp govt. So please save this your clever logic for foreigners, you definitely werent referring to Abacha or Abdulsalam. |
bonechamberlain:You mentioned and I quote, "northern Christians are in trouble under this evil government." There's no point trying to be too clever about it, a person doesnt need to make direct mention of the words 'gej or pmb or apc or pdp' before it becomes obvious that he/she is making these undue comparisons. The travails of Christians in the north has been in existence for several regimes; by zeroing it down with the use of the phrase "under this government", you simply made a comparisons between this government and past governments. Stop trying to make it seem like I dont undersrand English language. |
bonechamberlain:Northern christians were not in problem under the last saintly government too right?... The woes of northern Christians only started in 2015 right?.... The compulsion to view and interprete every single issue only from the pdp vs apc or gej vs pmb point of view is now the latest mental issue in Nigeria. |
Cyynthialove:The real problem Nigeria is facing is that too many people have brains only for decoration. I guess it was also because of Buhari's administration that over 2000 women and children (including over 200 students from chibok) were kidnapped by the same bokoharam in 2013/2014. The compulsion to view and interprete every single issue only from the pdp vs apc or gej vs pmb point of view is now the latest mental issue in Nigeria. |
"Armed" robber |
Solidkay:If they were all killed, or if they never returned like most of the Chibok ones, I'm sure a lot of people would be much more excited. |
Igboid:I'm still confused why my name is being mentioned here. I cant remember telling anyone that I fancy being involved in such senseless and pointless dick measuring threads which always end up in exchange of intertribal slurs. So please, if you have a better educative thread, you can drag me in. But please leave me out of these awo vs zik, brownies vs flaties nonsense types please. Thanks |
Another bobrisky in the making. |
nograv:If only people like you will just spend little time with an open, unbiased and unprejudiced mind, then maybe all these needless and endless whining and wailing and nagging will be replaced with quality time spent in asking the right questions to get informed. But obviously, some people just have a deep prejudice against the north and would rather prefer to dwell in nagging. Nigeria is a country, made up of north and south, and every part of Nigeria has it's importance. That you are from the south doesnt mean the people from the north dont deserve to have a life too or to be connected to civilization. The old railways in Nigeria built by the British had 2 main lines, the west and the eastern lines. The western line runs from Lagos through Kaduna, Kano and terminates at Kaura Namoda in present day Zamfara. The eastern line runs from PH to Aba, Enugu, Benue, Jos and terminates at Maiduguri. The Nigerian railway modernisation masterplan has railways which connect the entire country from north to south and from east to west. First bit of the modern standard gauge lines was built by OBJ connecting Warri to Ajaokuta (primarily to connect the two steel plants); the plan is for it to run up to Abuja. Then we also have the western line from Lagos to Kano which goes through Abuja and then Kaduna before getting to Kano. The current govt plans to extend that line up to Daura in Katsina and even Niger republic in future (I'm sure you would wail about that too, so goodluck). In the recent plan, there's also the coastal line which is meant to run from Lagos through all the coastal states and main cities till it gets to Calabar. This same line is meant to have a spur from Benin to Agbor and Onitsha and Owerri in future. Then finally there is the eastern line which is meant to run parallel to the old eastern rail line from PH through Aba, Umuahia, Enugu, Makurdi, Lafia, Jos, Bauchi and up till Maiduguri. The line between Warri and Ajaokuta has been built. The section of the western line between Abuja and Kaduna has been built. Currently, construction is ongoing for the section of the western line between Lagos and Ibadan and that is the only rail which is currently being constructed as we speak. Now today, approval has just been given to start preliminary negotiations for the eastern line which runs from PH to Maiduguri. So the question I ask is, why should this news torment anyone?... abi una be winsh? Is it because you heard Maiduguri?... I'm sure you would have felt much better if the report said the eastern line runs only from PH to Enugu. Must every topic be another avenue for people to display wailing skills and their prejudice against other parts of the country? |
Most important thing in all these is that innocent girls kidnapped by monsters have been reunited with their families. Bitter people are free to concoct any theories they want over this. |
guterMann:I dont normally do this but guy, this your alternative English fit putted person for trouble ![]() |
elgramz:Wonderful... It's been really long since I saw so much foolishness packed in one single post. I refuse to believe you are an illiterate, so I assume it's your deep prejudice and raw hatred for the pope that has twisted your mind and comprehension abilities. After reading the profanities you wrote, I had to go back to re-read the report to see where the pope mentioned "a prostitute has no sin" as you allege, but I couldn't find it; it wasnt even implied in any way. Maybe you can help us by pointing out the line in the report where you got that from. You claim the pope is anti-Christ, but reading your fiercely judgemental and abusive utterances, I think it's pretty clear to even the blind who better fits that anti-Christ description. |
Firefire:That's a childish nonsense narrative which didnt sell. Even a child in Cameroon knows that the loudest theory being peddled in Nigeria is that Bokoharam was created by buhari and apc and the northerners for the purpose of taking power from GEJ. Everyone around the world also knows the theory created by Jonathanians that Chibok abduction saga was orchestrated by buhari and APc purely to make GEJ look bad; even GEJ himself and mama Peace went about selling that narrative (remember the 'diaris Goduo' episode?). So please stop trying to shift the narrative. |
StylesX:The picture doesnt give us all the details so no need jumping into conclusions. |
queenethedibor:Bokoharam terrorists went on a rampage killing people and taking territories during the time of GEJ/PDP. They said buhari and ApC was responsible. Girls were kidnapped in Chibok by same bokoharam during GEJ's time. They said buhari and ApC was responsible. Years later, Buhari becomes president; the same bokoharam is still on rampage killing people. The same people still claim Buhari and ApC are responsible. And then bokoharam kidnaps girls from Dapchi. They still say buhari and ApC are responsible. ANd finally, the girls are released, and the same people still claim buhari and Apc are responsible. Jonathanians, wonderful set of people with wonderful manner of reasoning. I hail! |
