NwaEzefuNaMba:First of all, back to sender with your zonbi compliment, I believe you must be referring to you family and generation. And then, before you go jumping about the forest, let's be clear; I only called out the flawed logic in your assertion that the presidency had a hand in the snatching of the mace and the injunction given by a court (judiciary) to prevent the senator from being arrested. The man was illegally suspended simply for airing his opinion which was contrary to senate leadership. He obviously doesn't need presidential approval to be angry over such oppression. And and then again, it is pointless to claim the presidency controls the judiciary ftom where hr was able to secure an injunction to prevent his arrest "Was it the mace that suspended him?" First of all, as an educated person, I expected you to at least have some comprehension skills. If you do, then endeavour to put it to use. At no time did I directly or indirectly allude that it was right to snatch the mace; I only clarified (since you chose to act ignorant of this) that snatching of the mace is just a form of protest intended to disrupt procredings, this also isnt the first time we are seeing this happen in that chamber. Meanwhile, to answer your question, yes the senator challenged his suspension in court. If only you bothered reading, you should have read that in some of the reports on this case. |
NwaEzefuNaMba:So anybody that points out your daft logic must be BMC right?... Simple-mindedness! A senator is illegally suspended from the chambers simply because he goes against Saraki's opinion but you do not think such a senator has a reason to feel angry enough to want to disrupt proceedings?.. and then the senator runs to the court to get an injunction against his arrest and according to your logic, buhari in london now controls the judiciary so the injunction was quickly granted. Clap for yourself! |
NwaEzefuNaMba:By your logic above, the presidency controls the judiciary while the NASS controls the police and DSs? |
Everybody in Nigeria is a politician; politicians remember things are illegal only when it doesnt favour them. This statement goes for both Sagay and the hordes of people who due to political sentiments, are blind to the simple political point Sagay tried to make. |
Ikpewe:Omokri means He-goat in Urhobo |
Johnnyessence:Coming from a person whose name is 'Omokri' ![]() Abeg Warri people in the house, remind us of what Omokri means again... |
mapet:Politics is the answer; he was simply playing Nigerian brand of politics. |
Esseite:The report might not be true, but the analysis you gave above is empty. - Even armed robbers do go on missions with the latest 2018 Range Rover or lexus; remember these guys were political thugs, not riff raff robbers. - Protocol of senators cannot be around then 24-7, especially not when they're within the NASS complex. - He surprisingly walked into a commotion and was scared and disoriented; that's what happens when u run into chaos. In his bid to escape, he blindly ran into the nearest 'big car' hoping to be safe there. - There's nothing unusual about him struggling with the thugs after realising he walked into the wrong sanctuary - He was obviously released by the thugs because he wasnt their target; they must have driven a few meters away, stopped and kicked him out. |
MURIC! Never have I seen such jobless confused souls... |
Nigeria has never really had a government, both at the state and federal levels. Wike asking the FG to come and do something, what exactly is the responsibility of the state government?... What exactly is the job role of the commissioner for environment in the state? |
anowrite:Without reading through this thread, I'm sure some people would defend the actions of the youths by claiming it's because the government made them jobless. Meanwhile this is a very rampant occurrence in the far southern axis of the country. |
baby124:Well, the word 'fiancee' was used, so I assumed they were preparing to get married. If that's really the case, then whether she relocated before the wedding or after the wedding, it doesnt matter. |
Rubyventures:Yeah of course, different people have different preferences and life goals. I lived in London for some years and in my church then, I knew numerous ladies (some young and some old) who lived separately from their husbands; the case was always the same, the husband lives in Nigeria but the woman and kids live abroad. In some cases, the husband and some kids live in Nigeria and the woman and the remaining kids live abroad; and of course there's always the perpetual struggle with immigration to ship the remaining kids over. Of course the intention is for a better life, or to 'give the kids the best', but that is where different opinions come in. In my opinion, I personally do not see how a family living separately for over a decade (from when the kids were toddlers to when they grow to adulthood) amounts to a better life for the kids. Some people are fortunate with the resources that the family could reunite several times a year, but many others arent that fortunate. For me as a man, as long as God permits, I wouldn't for any lure of 'better life', be separated from my family for any extended period (i.e. several years). But hey, this is just my opinion and preference. |
Toks2008:Well, different strokes for different folks; different people have different life goals. I know a Benin couple who have been living separately for 8 years since their marriage because the woman lives in London and returning to Nigeria is never an option. Grace (their first daughter) is now about 7 and has never seen her father except in pictures. While the lure of 'abroad life' is of utmost importance to some (more important than family), it isnt the most important thing in life for others (I wouldnt let my wife out of my sight and touch for more than a year). |
Toks2008:A lot of people on this thread dont get the point. The compatison isnt between the £20k UK job vs the N27k Nigerian job; the story here is about leaving her meagre UK job to return and be with her husband, heck! she might have not even had a job at all in Nigeria but what is wrong with a lady giving up her job which is 5000km away to come be with her family? |
Viicfuntop:To sum it up, there was absolutely nothing silly about the lady returning to Nigeria to be with her husband to be. |
Viicfuntop:If the story says 'fiancee', I would imagine a wedding may be around the corner. So when the wedding happens, what next? They live 5000km apart because 'living abroad' is more important than your home?... Anyway, I know several people who wouldnt mind that. |
Martin0:I'm a bit confused whether this is just greed, poverty mentality or just the typical African inordinate ambition for living abroad. If not, what is wrong with a woman returning to Nigeria to be with her husband? I know several women who do that regularly. Or are you expecting them to be married and living 5000km apart?... Anyway, I think every human reasons in a different way and has different priorities. I personally kniw a Benin couple that have lived apart for 8 years now since their marriage simply because the woman lives abroad and they both would rather the marriage continue like this for life than for the woman to return and be with her husband (who hasnt been able to secure visa). One man's meat is truly another man's poison. |
Viicfuntop:Which is more important, her minimum wage £20k job in the UK or her marriage/home?... Okay since her N27k job in Nigeria is pointless, why not sit at home or maybe start a business? |
Several ladies leave similar paying jobs abroad to join husbands in Nigeria. I know a friend whom since she left her Barclay's job and relocated, still hasn't found a job 2 years after in Nigeria, she's just house wife, but she's happy being with her husband. The comments I'm seeing in this thread though; is it poverty mentality or just greed?... How is the lady foolish for giving up her 5000km away job to be with her husband?... Which is more important, her minimum wage £20k job in the UK or her marriage/home? |

derecho:Do you agree with me that one of the greatest issue that brings mockery to the church in Nigeria is the inordinate focus on financial gain? Abraham tithed willingly, Jacob tithed willingly, they were never under any compulsion or commandment to do so. Of course there's nowhere in the new testament where 'freely' giving a tithe was abolished; but rather, what was abolished following Christ's sacrifice on the cross was the mandatory requirement for believers to tithe regularly in order to please God. This message is very clearly documented in the new testament, there is no longer a curse which follows a person who for whatever reason, does not give a tenth. So why does the church in 2018 now blatantly go contrary to this clear message preached by the Apostles? Can you not see that this issue of preaching mandatory tithing, not only is it depriving believers of their blessings they would have gained if they gave freely, it is also one of the biggest magnets of mockery to the church especially as its an issue which concerns money?... What is wrong if the church simply just teaches the truth as it is in the bible?... Will God no longer provide for His church if pastors preach the truth about this controversial topic?... Recently, pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar mentioned that the mandatory tithing law and the curses attached to non-tithing as was written in Malachi does not apply to new covenant believer; he further went ahead to mention that if you tithe however, there are blessings tied to it. By speaking the simple truth, do you think that would prevent any if his tithing members to quit?... Absolute NO! So why is the truth too difficult for some really big ministers to preach?... Can't ypu see how that is the real deal bringing mockery to the church? |
derecho:My brother, there is nothing wrong with giving to God, but there is everything wrong with preaching falsehood to coerce people to give. I will repeat this again for emphasis, there is everything good about giving to God. But when Apostle Paul in the book of 2Corinthians 9:7 taught the new believers about giving, he made it very clear that they were bound by no law to give any specific amount or percentage. You asked if tithing was unbearable - Apostle Peter in the book of Acts 15:5-10 was referring to the entire Mosaic Laws as unbearable; tithing was just 1 very little part of it. You said tithing predates the Mosaic Laws - You are very right about that, but every other tithing which took place in the scriptures were voluntary; the Mosaic Law concerning tithing was the only form of tithing which was mandatory and which had grave consequences if broken (i.e. Malachi 3:8-10). Under the new covenant, the bible made it VERY VERY clear that new covenant believers are no longer bound by the MANDATORY Mosaic laws, of which tithing according to Malachi 3:8-10 was a part. So the question I ask is, if the Apostles who started the church through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit preached to the people that they are no longer under any mandatory requirements to tithe or comply by numerous other unbearable Mosaic laws, why then are pastors in the world over 2000 years later now preaching that tithing is mandatory for a believer to make heaven?... Cant you see the falsehood and dishonesty in that?... If you arent worried about pastors telling an obvious lie to raise money by threatening believers with a condemnation to hell, then that's really worrisome. Summary of my message is simple, it is good to give to the church as the church needs money for its operation. But it's evil to preach that God requires new covenant believers to give a certain percentage of their income in order to make heaven; that was exactly what the Pharisees tried do in Acts 15:5-10 but Apostle Peter shot them down. Do you know how many believers today are made to lose their blessings daily simply because they give out of fear of condemnation instead of out of love? In fact, go and read the entire Galatians 13, and you will realise that anyone who still tries to uphold the Mosaic Laws is basically living under a curse which Christ already saved us from by being nailed to the cross; you are basically denying Christ as the messiah. |
ITbomb:Christian ministers in 2018 should be very careful not to test God. Any pastor threatening non-Jewish Christian believers (Gentiles) with the book of Malachi 3 is simply testing God's patience and should be wary of God's wrath... Kindly go and enlighten yourself with Acts 15:10 and repent Acts 15:10 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? Pastors in 2018 have placed themselves greater than Apostle Peter (Jesus' favourite) who stood his ground in the Church council against the Pharisees and refused that the Laws of Moses (Malachi etc) be extended to Gentile believers - Acts 15:5-10 Pastors in 2018 have also now placed themselves greater than Apostle Paul (the most prolific Apostle) who instructed that new covenant believers should never be coerced to give any mandatory percentage, but rather should give freely, whatever they decided in their hearts - 2 Corinthians 9:7 What we see in the church today is truly a scary development. Christian ministers now contradicting the teachings of the Apostles on a daily basis and relying on personal visions which clearly contradicts God's word in the bible. The devil has truly infilterated the church. May God save us all! |
We're truly at the end times. There're plenty churches I would have expected this from, this is quite disappointing coming from RCCG. The next move by these Nigerian churches would soon be to rewrite or update the bible; cos it seems like the immortal words in the bible are now a stumbling block to their man-made doctrines. They now rely solely on personal visions and revelations from wherever as their sole guide to supersede what's written in the bible. The messages they get from their visions now contradicts and supersedes the messages preached by the early Apostles who walked the earth with Jesus. Lord have mercy on this our generation! |

zegxy:The numerous corruption cases which characterised GEJ's (and even OBJ's) administration, who exactly did all the investigative journalism and brought those stories to public knowledge?... Lai Mohammed right? |

She had already bagged her Bachelors and MSc by 2012 when she was just 19/20?... wow! |
olowolekana:Where exactly in the bible?... Give me 1 verse and I will give you 10 verses to prove that you are wrong. By the way, a most simple way to seek God as you advised is through his word in the bible, so please let's focus on the bible only and not some 'dream' or 'vision' or some 'revelation' seen by one person in 2018. |
