Axon:The only thing Bubu has done wrong is his handling of the ND crisis. Dem no dey use hammer kill fly wey perch for scrotum... The effects of the uncontrollable drop in oil prices should have balanced out by now but the severely reduced production due to vandalism is the the next big source of the forex scarcity presently. The forex scarcity in turn, is the cause of all those other flip flops you mentioned. |
Paperwhite:The only reason your statement holds true is because people like yourself who dont give a damn if your relations die of hunger, are destroying the country's only source of income as a way of fighting 1 man. |

What exactly is happening to PDp in Ondo. These sorry politicians are about to return Nigeria to a fully 1 party state. |
Same story all the time... every single group that has split had this exact same story. Greed from both sides always brings it down. After many years in 5-star music and just one hit track, hope the sun shines on Mr Harry on his new found voyage. He didnt fit into the 5-star family anyway, it always appeared like he was being used as a sidekick/ boy-boy. |

basybasy:The same western powers are the ones that ensured they rubbished Zimbabwe since 2001 after they fell out with Mugabe.... Unlike Gaddafi whom they just killed outright, they used sanctions to destroy Zimbabwe to zero... |
God help us!. While I may choose to act all civilised, compassionate and respect the sanctity of human life, I am really in no position to judge those who support jungle justice especially since they know exactly where the shoe pinches them. |
Whenever it gets to another election, every politician remembers the SE, even SE politicians in Abuja who have forgotten the way to their constituencies woul suddenly remember home. ![]() |
See what wailing has turned into?.. just negodu! What is the business of Maria Ogbonna with where president buhari's wife is? |
On why he chose sex workers, he said he preferred to patronize them after work because it was a place he makes a choice among so many women of different complexions, shapes and sizes. ![]() |
A very pained wailer he is... The lamentations have reached the crescendo lately probably cos his little share of the loot has dried up. |
While a lot of people may be tired with the present state of the country and the unreassuring current leadership, the PDP sponsored political group hailing Jonathan at the airport in sokoto does not mean anything. |
PhilemonObende:Someone is not being able to think right here, someone here is being myopic and is totally incapable of seeing the big picture. That someone is either you (and other pro-ipob Igbos) or the Igbos like Kenneth who don't see Biafra as a solution to any Igbo problem. Based on what you have written above, the question I ask is this, how exactly will changing the name of the eastern region of Nigeria to Biafra prevent the blood sucking Islamists in Kano from murdering people like Mrs Agbahime who have chosen to live in the north? Igbos are widely travelled and Igbos settle just about anywhere and everywhere, that is the nature of Igbos and that is the reason every single country in the world today has an Igbo community. For you and other pro-Biafrans who keep citing the killing of Igbos in northern Nigeria as a basis for the agitation for Biafra, except you are saying all Igbos resident in northern Nigeria would automatically return to the east as soon as Biafra is granted, I am yet to understand how a changeof name from 'eastern Nigeria' to 'Biafra' can possibly stop the animosity the northerners have for Igbos living in their midst. And for crying out loud, why the continuous hate and intolerance towards fellow Igbos who dont support the ipob movement?.... How is this intolerance going to help anyone? |
Some people would soon go blow up the pipeline taking crude to the PHRC to ensure that it never functions. While some of these folks do it because they believe they are punishing a president in Abuja, others do it to ensure their income stream from fuel import is never threatened by any form of local production. At the end, aviation fuel continues to be expensive in Nigeria, more and more airlines either stop or reduce operations in nigeria and to Nigeria (or they just move to Ghana), while Nigeria continues to lose jobs. |
thesicilian:The typical Nigerian brain doesn't reason in this direction.... Kudos to you for being the first to ask a vital question. |
The ND problem is quite complex and one can't help but also blame the ND for being co-architects of their own problem. Not a single question has been raised by 'ND agitators' against the thieving elite who have cornered trillions meant for the development of the ND in decades. Several agencies have been established for the development of the ND, but these agencies have always turned out to just be wealth generating machines for the same ol' thieving ND elite, yet the 'agitators' have never questioned this weird trend. Similarly, extra billions and even trillions have been channelled to develop the ND via the 13% derivation given to states. These moneys still always end up just making the thieving elite in the ND richer; no questions on this has ever been raised by the agitators. Everyone seems to just be focused on Abuja and strangely, when a ND man became president, even though his only achievement was to share money to the same set of thieving elite, not one single agitator raised an eyebrow against this trend, neither was an eyebrow raised against local leaders and elite who received and pocketed the moneys. Today the ND man is no more at Abuja, ND Avengers and several smaller groups have resumed the pipeline bombing business. Just 2 days ago, a 48-inch pipeline (and 2 others) were blown up. I can't even imagine the extent of environmental damage a spill from a 48-inch pipeline can cause, but somehow, someway, the ND people are cool with this. Many have been indoctrinated by the same thieving ND elite to believe this is the best way to protest 'another' Hausa man in Abuja. Meanwhile a group of secession campaigners from the nearby SE Nigeria (and their numerous followers) seem to be the loudest voices in support glorification of the blowing up of these ND pipelines; it doesnt matter whether it comes with any environmental or economic damage, once again, it is just the best option to express their disapproval for the presidency of another Hausa man. The truth is that until the people begin to think for themselves, until they stop allowing some thieving elite using them as pawns in their big games to grab wealth, until the people directly affected by this mess stop allowing others to do their thinking and start asking the right questions (regarding 'who' the real culprits are, then situations like this where families rely on polluted water will never go away. |

MyGeneration:Deep ignorance + deep hatred produces a combustible reaction resulting in the lowest of the lowest level of human reasoning. That's typically what you can deduce from the die-hard ipob faithfuls who comment especially on that radiobiafra Facebook page. The kind of reasoning people express there is enough to embarrass sensible people who wish for Biafra into denying their stance. |
Agwoden:Reno is saying the truth right?... but Reno glorifies and worships his own boss who after receiving the highest revenue in Nigerian history, still shamelessly had to take bank loans in Feb 2015 to pay workers salary just because oil price had just fallen to $70... Now this is the same shameless pastor accusing another leader of borrowing?.... What sayest thou? |
Omokri again... meanwhile his boss GEJ who enjoyed the highest oil boom and who received more revenue in his 5 year reign than all other Nigerian leaders put together, Omokri's boss squandered the abundance and shamelessly resorted to collecting a bank loan to pay worker salaries in February 2015 just because oil prices had dropped to about $70/bbl. Now this is the same shameless tadpole Pastor criticising the new govt of borrowing to fund critical infrastructure. Do some folks even have shame in their dictionary? Abeg Warri people in the house, can someone please remind me what 'OMOKRI' means?.... |
mej67:And Z is for ur Fath***.. Gej is gone, u guys should live with it. |
I thought this issue has since been explained and thrashed by the CBN over 6 months ago?... Or are new pilgrims still getting forex at special rate till date?... Why is Bruce exhuming the dead? |
Lol.... to be honest, if the matter must be judged fairly without sentiments, thay statement by Chimamanda falls under the same category as what Trump said about the Mexicans judge. |
FSBoperator:How old are you? |
eleojo23:Some people who strangely view themselves as losers have been in desperate need to associate themselves with some form of victory, hence these Nigerians have divided US elections between APC vs PDP with Trump being PDP and Hilary being APC. Nothing could be more bizarre than the reasoning pattern of these folks. |

ephi123:You are obviously the one not getting the point. I understand the risk involved in a monopoly, but I also understand the bigger risks involved in pulling down flourishing businesses as a strategy for ensuring 'equality' in the system. Like I said earlier, 'great men become great when others sleep,' Dangote operates in the same environment as many others operate, but he distinguishes himself and makes tremendous progress in whatever he touches. Except you are basically suggesting the govt clips his wings to ensure he doesn't become a monopolist, I don't know what you're all about. You may argue that Dangote enjoys extra favours to the detriment of other businesses, but I don't completely agree with that. In every society, big businessmen lobby the govt to curry favours and Nigeria isn't an exception. Also, Dangote isn't the only one who lobbies and gets favours from the govt, he just seems to be the only one who is very successful in turning these favours to success and his patriotism which pushes him to focus strictly on Nigeria and tap into the vast opportunities present is what differentiates him. The govt has been begging investors to build private refineries, but typical Nigerian businessmen preferred to import fuel and garner huge subsidies. Dangote now decides to take that responsibility by building the biggest refinery worldwide, and now people complain of monopoly. Some would argue that the CBN grants him forex easily, but it is on record that the CBN has always promised unfettered forex access to serious minded businessmen willing to build refineries. His tomato paste business obviously doesn't get the same forex concession as his refinery, hence they lament like every other business seeking forex there. Similarly in the cement business, the backward integration policy was implemented; the FG promised cement import licenses to only businessmen who had local production capacity for cement. A time limit was given for cement importers to build their plants, Dangote hurriedly builds his cement plants, retains his cement import license, other cement importers lose their import licenses, and then everyone complains that Dangote is a monopolist being helped by govt. Then again the govt has been begging Nigerians to go into rice production, while some are heeding to this plea, others are sleeping. Dangote has recently delved into the rice business, very soon (as usual) he would hit it with a bang and become a leader, and once again, people would lament his success. My dear the logic here is simple, Dangote typically gets the same opportunity as others but somehow finds a way to be extremely successful and then controls the business sector. You can't tell me Dangote is the only one who 'knows' every govt in power. Except you are asking the govt to clip his wings and snuff some life out of his businesses for others to catch up, I don't know what you all about. |
ephi123:"Great men become great while others sleep" The point is that everyone had an opportunity and one person was able to convert his opportunity to greatness. Now people beaf him for being 'too successful' and being a monopolist and these people wish him being pulled down to the level of others for the sake of 'equality'. I wouldn't even know whether hate or envy is the right word to describe this mentality. The main question however is, where were others while this man rose to his present level?.... Some claim he receives govt backing? .. is he the only one who receives govt backing?.... Businessmen the world over lobby govts for 'backing,' Nigeria isnt an exception and Dangote isnt the only one. So my question remains, "what did other businessmen do with their own govr backing?" |
