Teach the people to fish, give them an enabling environment and allow them to fish peacefully. I do not subscribe to this strange tradition of wasting money distributing food items which finishes the next day. This isn't a refugee or IDP camp. |
ANBAKO:I think the plant is slated to be completed in 2018. I just get amused when I see the "It is GEJ's project" children jumping around like headless chickens claiming projects as if we were still running elections. |
kryptonian1987:Falling oil prices started in mid-2014: A moving car runs out of fuel at Point A does not mean it wouldn't move on inertia for a little longer before it eventually decelerates to a halt. Also, if you cut the tap root of a tree today, it takes at least a couple of days before the leaves begin to wither and fall off. That the leaves fall off today does not mean the problem started today. You don't need formal education to know this, all you need is common sense. NOI warned Nigerians to brace up for recession as early as December 2014 when oil still even sold for up to $75/barrel; I dont need to remind you that oil prices continued crashing steadily till it got to $30. As at May 2015, oil sold for about $65 but by then, Naira had crashed from N160 to N230, GDP growth rate crashed progressively from 6-7% to 2.3% as at the period. In February 2015 the FG borrowed up to $2billion to pay workers' salaries, FG could not pay subsidy arrears for up to 8 months leading to a massive fuel scarcity as at May 2015 and within 6 months between November and May 2015, Nigeria's forex reserves fell sharply by $10bn from $38bn to $28bn. All these things happening when oil still sold above $65 and it was a sign of a colossal economic nosedive which continued after handover to Buhari because the root cause which was falling oil prices continued unabated. Apparently, only a simple-minded simpleton would attribute the eventual manifestation of the problems to Buhari's emergence. You claim you do not still understand why garri prices are up?... When fuel prices go up, why does it lead to an increase in price of every commodity in the market, including even the fees of love-peddlers?... If you can articulate the answer to this question, then you wouldn't be exposing more of your ignorance by asking how or why a low oil price related Naira devaluation and recession leads to an inflation in price of every commodity including garri. |
Kobicove:Lol.. all these our "it-is-GEJ-project" children never cease to amaze. How much did GEJ pump into the project during his tenure?.... Kindly name one single power plant which GEJ started and completed?... Meanwhile all the power projects commissioned by GEJ were projects initiated and progressed by OBJ, GEJ comes in, pumps in billions of dollars (to be actually looted largely) and then completes an almost complete project. If you doubt me, kindly name the power projects commissioned by GEJ and I will confidently show you existing pictures of those projects pre-2010. ![]() |
temptnow:Did you actually have to label his wife an ashawo all because of your political preferences?... Does that really make you feel better? |
ARIZONA123:Swerve |
MasterJayJay:Nigeria has never been one, but that doesnt mean 'running away' to form a new country is a solution. It's a very ill-thought move in 2016, especially when one considers the mental and intellectual capacity of the people spearheading the current movement, and the emotion factor (not hard reasoning) which drives most of the campaigners. |
BudeYahooCom:swerve |
MasterJayJay:Of course buhari has been failing massively especially in the area of security and his further division of the country from where pdp stopped through his uneven bigoted appointments. But then, not a single cell out of the billions of my body cells regrets removing GEJ cos he was a pathetic failure. If buhari doesnt change, I wouldnt hesitate to support the next person with the best chance of removing buhari. |
BudeYahooCom:I didnt expect sensible words to come off you. By their constant use of abusive words, they are known. Oh yes by the way, i am a yoruba muslim, i guess this statement makes some brainless piglets ecstatic. ![]() |
That's if the politically motivated gas pipeline bombers and their supporters would ever allow gas get to the plant when it is completed. |
BudeYahooCom:Your mental and intellectual capacity unfortunately ends in labelling anyone trying to speak sense into you as a yoruba man. I never asked you to support buhari, if only you had an iota of the wisdom or intelligence you claimed, you should have known that. Buhari is the president already and those supporting him out number those against him, that's why he won your hero in the last election. I simply pointed to you some salient facts exposing the pointlessness of the hero you claim to support seeing that he did nothing for the SE zone except enrich few of his friends. You couldn't respond to a single of my claims so in the usual manner of an intellectually challenged person, you resorted to abusive words and insults and 'yoruba' labelling, so pathetic. FYI, just like Joe Igbokwe, Ngige, Rochas and several other Igbos who chose to see things differently, I am a proud Igbo man who joined the movement that booted GEJ out and enthroned PMB. If it pains you so much that there are humans like me out there (efulefu like some ediots call us), you can do yourself a favour by smashing your intolerant head against a rock. |
SeverusSnape:Your mental and intellectual capacity obviously ends in the repetition of the word 'zombie' a hundred times. Sorry! |
Nigerian youths! two communities are battling over land dispute, are busy shouting Buhari buhari! Obviously they couldn't read even just the first sentence, it's beyond their intellectual capacity. Wonderful leaders of tomorrow! todayboy:Chaii.. What is the business of Fayose and Buhari in the report biko? ![]() |
The culture of the northerners is truly strange, it's strange how even the educated and uneducated are in total support of the actions of Yinusa to the extent of even receiving him as a hero, wonderful! I understand even a rapist or an armed robber has family members who would celebrate if he is left of the hook, but the celebration of Yinusa's release has gone beyond just family level. |
kryptonian1987:The primary reason behind the economic downturn is the low price of oil. I did not imply in any way that it was corruption because even with the high corruption of the past 6 years, the economy was buoyant because of the high oil prices. Oh yes! this excuse of oil price may have been overused, you may choose to agree or not, but that doesn't stop it from being the hard fact that it is. Nigeria is a mono-economy nation which sells only oil as its primary source of forex. The price of oil goes down, the economy of Nigeria goes down, period!... You are free to keep blaming Buhari, oh yes he was voted in to change things; but like I said, I am patiently waiting to see what he can do because I understand the dynamics of things and I'm aware of the real cause of the present hardship. Did you just ask what the price of garri and other essential commodities has to do with oil price?.... Let me just assume you have an idea of the link between the drop in oil price and the drop in value of the Naira? With the falling value of the Naira, there is bound to be inflation because Nigeria imports even the most basic items like toothpicks and when there is inflation, even the price of pure water has gone up. Even pure water manufacturers have to import the polyethene which they use to package the water you drink, higher cost of purchasing forex to acquire these raw materials means higher cost of their eventual products. I don't need to remind you that they also use fuel to run their generators and the fuel is imported with forex. As for the power crisis, once again whether you choose to agree or not, the hard fact remains that the main reason power supply has been so bad since 2016 is because the campaign to sabotage power supply by cutting gas supply kicked into a very serious gear since 2016 January. Do you have an idea of how many times gas pipelines taking gas to power stations have been blown-up within the last 6 months? http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/01/gas-pipeline-bombing-we-are-closing-in-on-perpetrators-jtf-commander/ |
PigMeat:Grow up and stop throwing unnecessary tantrums like a child deprived of akara balls. |
SeverusSnape:No, it is rather you wailers who keep crying endlessly over the loss of GEJ, it is you guys who keep on bringing up GEJ's name in every issue and trying to make a comparison. Whenever you are thrashed in your own petty comparison game, you quickly turn around and blame others for 'calling his name.' Retrace this thread to the start and kindly point out who first made references to GEJ? Madam Oby criticised PMB for his lackadaisical attitude towards security, in less than 2 minutes, a multitude of people jump into the thread to abuse the woman for none other reason other than she supported PMB over GEJ. What exactly does that tell you?.... The moment wailers stop bringing in GEJ into every discussion, I can assure you that the ruling party and its supporters will never mention GEJ's name again. |
PigMeat:Get over it man, GEJ is gone for good. GEJ was a bad leader and he had to be removed, and he was removed. GEJ has since moved on with his life, stop crying more than the bereaved and move on with yours. Everybody has an opinion, a larger number of Nigerians were of the opinion that GEJ wasn't better, so he was removed. Learn to respect the opinion of others, that is what democracy is all about. And that Oby supported the ouster of GEJ does not mean she is not a Nigerian who has a right to criticise PMB when she feels he is slacking. If PMB also turns out a bad leader by the end of his tenure, he would also be removed. Try an move on with your lives, Nigeria doesn't end with the 2015 election. |
I can see a lot of empty brains on here insulting their mothers because Oby simply chose to be a sensible Nigerian. WHen are you guys going to get used to the fact that GEJ was a failure of a president and for that reason, he was booted out?.... and if Buhari continues to be a failure, he would also be booted out. Our youths really need to start using their heads and stop being unnecessarily emotional. move on with your freaking lives, GEJ is history. |
kel5000:It's a free world, everybody cannot like everybody. But then, while we express our own opinions, we should try not to crucify others for holding their own different opinions; live and let live. This is somehow what Mr Igbokwe is trying to talk about, another simple example of this is the fact that any Igbo person who dares to have a different opinion from the crowd is instantly declared persona non-grata, efulefu, enemy of Igbos etc and it may only be a matter of time before it turns to physical attacks. This intolerance needs to stop. |
RichYoungNigga:I dare you to tell me that what I have written is false; it's not enough to just resort to insults. Quit the unnecessary emotions and move on with your life. Have a nice day too. |
kryptonian1987:Youu still have not said anything, you are simply just ranting like a child deprived of akara balls; it is obvious you are simply pained about the existence of people who actually support Buhari. But bro, this is a free world, you cannot expect everyone to like what you like. There is hardship in the country today no doubts, but it is not enough to kill my support for buhari because I know too well that most of it has nothing to do with buhari. A nation which could not be diversified when there was plenty, and the only commodity it sells becomes almost valueless today, it doesn't take more than common sense to know that the hardship faced today is inevitable, but you are free to keep blaming buhari for being the 'dullard' who could not diversify the economy under 12 months. Another example is Fashola the minister of power, I would not be stupid enough to judge his performance or capabilities based on the present darkness we face. I can clearly see the reason behind the darkness, disgruntled political elements go on a rampage blowing up power infrastructure around the country in the full glare of all; anyone who expects me to judge Fashola's performance as a power minister based on that must be a compound joker. But then, just like I mentioned earlier, it is a free world, I have my choices, you have yours. Feel free to be intolerant by labelling me a zombie for having my own preferences and opinions. |
RichYoungNigga:But at least you now agree with me that Igbos gave a Bleep about who rules Nigeria?... It all started with GEJ sharing billions to his close allies of which a good number were Igbos. But the real question is, after those billions which were shared to INDIVIDUALS, how did it change the fortunes of the entire SE zone?... Let us for once put some wisdom into this; how did those billions transform the lives of the common man?... After oil prices crashed and GEJ left power, what do we have to show for those billions which flowed?... No roads fixed, no bridges built (2NB was only started at the tail end to hoodwink voters), no seaports built, the PH airport was left to rot because of a simple feud with Amaechi, the Enugu airport, even though a new befitting terminal was built, the funds meant for the refurbishment and expansion of the pothole ridden runway was embezzled etc. But today, we still jump around shouting GEJ and giving ourselves unnecessary high BP over GEJ's outster. Courtesy of Mazi Kanu, millions of Igbo youths have now been brainwashed to believe that they have to hate other tribes (especially those tribes that were instrumental to the removal of GEJ) as the only way to progress. Some people now take it upon themselves to wish all sorts of evil upon themselves and the country because they believe it affords them the opportunity to abuse or punish buhari. How did we get to this level? |
MasterJayJay:Is that the reason behind the protest or an aftermath of the protest itself?... In my post you quoted, I was specifically referring to events which happened very well before the unfortunate cases of shooting protesters. Let's not try to twist this and make it look like the protests or the discontent is because of those shootings. |
RichYoungNigga:Truth is that Igbos never gave a fuuuck not until GEJ became president. It would be silly to try to deny that. |
RichYoungNigga:But this is the very point being made, Igbos are blessed with success everywhere. So why is it that a lot of Igbos who supported GEJ in the last election have refused to let go of the election loss?... Some notable ones have successfully incited others to hate every other tribe, especially any tribe or group of persons that supported Buhari. Even Igbos who supported Buhari have been declared persona non-grata and efulefus with their lives threatened on a daily basis. It is supposed to be a free world and everyone should reserve a right to support whoever they want to support. But the emotional outbursts and hatred spread by most Igbos (who supported GEJ) to date leaves much to be expected, it doesn't in any way reflect a blessed people and that is sad. Do I even need to mention that there are quite a lot of shallow minded cretins who actually wish evil and destruction upon Nigeria and celebrate at any single bad news, this is the unfortunate situation we have in our hands presently. |
kryptonian1987:Sorry for your pain, but what does this your rant have to do with the topic or the question I asked? |
This is preposterous; is somebody trying to say Ekiti people are hungry? ![]() |
This is preposterous! how could the richest oil producing state not be able to pay pensioners?... Going by political arguments on this forum, one would think it was only 'beer-bellied irresponsible Awusa governors' like Rochas that were incapable of settling pensioners as at when due. |
kryptonian1987:I challenge you to prove you have even the slightest iota of intelligence by pointing out where or how I sweet-mouthed Buhari's administration in my post? Any slightly intelligent person should know that this issue shouldn't be made a buhari vs gej political case because whilst anyone blames the sack of 400 workers on a choice of buhari, under the alternative (GEJ), the same bank sacked over 1000 just last year. My post was simply to expose this particular folly of the shallow thinking simpletons who tried to mock workers who just lost their jobs on the basis of their 'possible' political choice. |
TANTUMERGO007:It would take time to fix, especially as oil price remains low and disgruntled elements continue to sabotage the economy by blowing public installations. |

I guess Bubu loves them very much.
