hush15:He's got 3 years to redeem himself. His first budget was only passed last week remember? |
tinktanker:That it appeared on nairaland or that it was shown on NTA where people were lamenting the stopping of the project, does that necessarily make it to be true? tinktanker:Are you aware that the government of Buhari has been running on GEJ's budget of 2015 which set aside virtually nothing for the ministry of works?.... Sometimes I wonder why people just make comments and judgements out of pure emotions. The link you pasted clearly stated that the contractors weren't paid, hence they abandoned the site. Buhari only just got his first budget passed last week but you blame him for stopping GEJ's projects?.... Did GEJ budget anything for the projects in 2015?... If not, with what money were you expecting the FG to pay the contractors? Now while people lament the stopping of the project (which was due to the non-payment of funds in 2015), the FG has said it budgeted money for this very project in 2016 but you still cannot discern what that means? |
ugnmezi:Did I mention anywhere that vandalism started in this regime?.... Kindly point out where I stated that vandalism started in this regime, if you cant then we both know who the daft one is. |
Much ado about nothing! How can work continue on the project when money hasn't been released? Can someone kindly mention the federal works project that happened in the entire 2015? Buhari just had his first budget passed last week and N17billion was budgeted for the said 2nd Niger bridge. The same last week, a N350billion stimulus was released to resume abandoned federal projects and the finance minister rightly announced that the priority projects are the Lagos Ibadan road and the 2nd Niger Bridge. So what exactly is this large scale wailing all about? http://www.punchng.com/n350bn-package-lagos-ibadan-expressway-2nd-niger-bridge-to-benefit/ Adaure4ever: Stolen:Please when we want to wail, let's do it with a little bit of wisdom and with some due diligence in getting the right info first. |
tinktanker:Just last week, you heard the finance minister say on tv that priority projects meant to be resuscitated with the N350bn stimulus were the Lagos-Ibadan road and the 2nd Niger bridge. But yet you still choose to fly along with a story from a sensational tabloid?... Na wa! http://www.punchng.com/n350bn-package-lagos-ibadan-expressway-2nd-niger-bridge-to-benefit/ By the way, according to the link you posted, work was suspended due to lack of funding. Buhari only just got his first budget passed last week and his finance minister has announced same time that priority funds would immediately be made available for the bridge project. For the records, the suspended work has nothing to do with Buhari. |
OLADD:Lol... you were banned for breaking simple NL rules, you probably must have resorted to insults when you ran out of what to say. ![]() |
okeyglm:Of course it isn't rocket science, 'rocket science' is something which is too difficult for the average mind to understand. But we all understand the reason behind the power outages, savages are bursting gas pipelines for fun. |
tinktanker:How can Buhari cancel the 2nd Niger bridge project yet his works ministry budgeted N17bn for the same bridge in the 2016 budget and his finance minister said this about the bridge just last week? http://www.punchng.com/n350bn-package-lagos-ibadan-expressway-2nd-niger-bridge-to-benefit/ |
2rutalk1:But the report says 1pm till around 3pm while the person you subtly insulted said he had light by 2:10pm? Except of course Eket is powered independently. |
I think the nuclear plants should be located in the far far north. They need electricity a lot there and I hear we have some uranium deposits in the north east. ![]() |
Lol... This is a record breaker ![]() But then, did all the gas plants and all the hydro plants simultaneously just switch off at the same time?.... Or could it have been a momentary instrument failure causing the system operators/TCN to be unable to measure total power produced?... This is a real record breaker if true ![]() |
fiftynaira: Alusioji:The Op did not say IMSG built the main federal road. Rather, the internal city roads which are presently being used as a detour to by-pass the bad spots have recently been built by the IMSG (as shown in the pictures). |
chudionu58:First of all, I see no reason why you must throw insults such as 'goat' and 'fool' when you want to pass a simple message. It speaks volumes of your personality and you would be banned if you persist. Regarding your comment, you claim a road project was awarded as far back as 2010, but for 5 solid years, users of the road have been going through hell. You quote beautiful figures as contract awards for these projects but nothing was on ground for 5 years to reflect your beautiful figures. My friend, just in case you are new to Nigeria, it is not all about announcing and publishing on paper that x-y-z amount has been awarded for a project, if that was the case then OBJ and his military predecessors should take all glory for all the roads built in the last 17 years because contracts were also awarded for most of these same roads under OBJ. As a thoroughbred Nigerian who understands the double-speak of dubious politicians, what matters most is if the physical cash was actually released to contractors for the projects and if the project was actually executed. As far as common sense is concerned, your Jonathan spent 5 jolly years enjoying unprecedented oil income but he left the federal roads in the SE to deteriorate to their most horrible state. |
chudionu58:When you blame Buhari for the lack/suspension of construction projects in the entire 2015, you conveniently did not remember we have been running on Jonathan's budget till date. Threads have been opened on this site asking what the projects of Buhari are besides helipad but you conveniently forget that it was Jonathan's budget. Now a long abandoned road project appears to have been resumed in 2016 and you suddenly remember that 2016 budget hasn't been passed? By the way, what do you mean by IMSG abandoning the building of a federal road?... IS this supposed to be a lame attempt at 'blame game'? |
scachy:Just the same way construction works have been ongoing on the benin-sagamu road for ages but the worst portion was fixed in 2014. The fact remains that the road 'APPEARS' to now be motorable for the first time in a decade. Still waiting for regular users of the road to confirm its true condition. |
dechriscool:GEJ awarded the road and it was built in 2016?... By the way, it was even Yaradua who first awarded the contract for that road. But all through Yaradua's time and all through GEJ's 5 years, commuters have suffered horribly on the road and now it suddenly is GEJ's award when the road is built in late 2015/2016?.... I suppose the internal city roads which serves as a detour was also built by your Jona right? How could humans deceive themselves so badly like this?... What sort of evil deceit is this? Very soon the Onitsha-Enugu road would be fixed and someone would also claim that GEJ awarded the contract. So also the PH-Enugu road, someone would also claim GEJ awarded the contract and therefore it is GEJ's road. Tufiakwa! |
Reference:Yeah, even if coal is stolen, it would be in the proportion that could lead to a shutdown of coal plants. Also, unlike gas plants which go off pretty soon after a damage to the pipelines, coal stock could be stored up to last up to a week or more within the plants. |
Integrityfarms:You do not mark the exam scripts of a student when the exam is still ongoing; it is meaningless. Fashola and Buhari have spent less than a year in power and a full tenure lasts 4 years; a reminder just in case you are oblivious of that. Presently, Fashola and Buhari are working to fix the problems which couldn't be fixed by your heroes for decades and there is no way you can define where you are going to without appreciating/talking about where you've been. Once again it is senseless to expect such a rot which couldn't be fixed in 16 years to be fixed in 10 months. |
Stolen:It may take up to a century from independence before Nigeria gets an eloquent president again. |
Integrityfarms:There has always been pipeline vandalism; it badly affected power generation in the past, it is still affecting power generation today and it will always affect power generation as long as we continue to have savages who sabotage pipelines just for the fun of it. I don't also trust the pipeline operators in their repair works on these damaged pipelines. At this point, I think the best solution would be to move away from our over-reliance on gas powered turbines. Coal plants should be built, wind farms should built, solar farms should be built and hydro dams (e.g. Mambilla) should be built quickly. |
OreMI22: Brilliance9000: ![]() Una too like quarrel |
tobiasbeecher:Lol.. the person you quoted is a troll and a clown. Even though we sit on the same political divide, I must confess that Ngene takes things to the extreme. ![]() |
Bloomberg is all about devaluation; that has always been their target even before Buhari took over. Those guys have never said anything good about Nigeria and it's all tied to the refusal to devalue the naira. |
Cleaning/clearing this Douglas road might just involve moving the market. |
Seen... |
ThaPatriot:Bro I just told you a fact... Remove political bias and re-read all what you've wrote and please tell me it makes logical sense? |
freeze001:My dear, not everything must be attributed to politics. The world is bigger than politics and as a matter of fact, I have no idea where this incident happened. |
For some strange reason, I don't completely believe this rebuttal. ![]() |
ThaPatriot: ThaPatriot:SMH.. the way in which people conveniently turn everything to politics and the way in which you have conveniently blamed Buhari for the death of your friend's dad is the reason he asked you to grow up. You claim that a construction company retrenched their staff even before Buhari thought of winning the elections in 2015. The retrenchment was because the government at the time (headed by GEJ) owed them arrears, and they feared that if GEJ could not pay, a possible new government may not also pay. And you think Buhari should take the blame for that failure to pay and the resultant high BP of your friend's dad? From the tone of your voice, you are obviously a GEJ supporter and you imply that had it been Jonathan still on the mantle, your friend's dad and several others wouldnt have died. You believe in GEJ so much that even in his inability to pay arrears to contractors, you put the blame on a Buhari? Wonderful! Are you aware that in the 2015 budget, next to nothing was budgeted by GEJ for payment of those arrears but a president Buhari who has only just last week, had his first budget (2016) approved is the person you chose to blame for the high BP of your friend's dad?... Did you consider the fact that the country is flat-broke because of the oil price crises and previous governments failed woefully to diversify the economy (a process which we are only starting now and which cannot be done in a day)?... Have you also considered the fact that the previous government in addition to not diversifying the economy from sole dependence on oil, also squandered everything and left zero savings for a hard time like this when oil prices have crashed? The fact that you can forgive GEJ but can't forgive a Buhari who only just recently inherited a mess, that speaks volumes. No offence intended but from your entire write-up and reasoning, you definitely need to grow up. And remember, growth isn't just about age. |
Patience Jonathan English ![]() People can be evil... |
NavierStokes:Have a great day too. |
