You have proven me wrong with your deficiency in elementary logic. Thought you know better upon your google-generated epistle you have posted above yet failed to see through the veil of deceit of this fraudulent party called APC.
Common sense is obviously not common when people are hell bent on only viewing issues through the microscopic prism of politics. I gave a simple definition, it is up to you to understand it or keep pleasuring yourself by feigning ignorance.

Buhari and Lai Mohammed must explain to us who killed this soldier because according to Buhari boko haram has been defeated since two months into this regime.
Descartes:
What a mischievous Op ! Haven't you heard from Buhari and Lai Mohammed that Bokoharam has been technically defeated?
grin
What is even wrong with the reasoning pattern of some Nigerian youths?... Is this illiteracy or is this just a case of people trying hard to feign ignorance in order to have something partisan to say?

Are you guys aware that even years after the US and its allies defeated the Taliban, there were still countless cases of isolated Taliban attacks and ambush on US soldiers and bombings of soft targets?... As a matter of fact, the US lost more soldiers after it had 'technically' won the war than when the war was still ongoing. This was also the case in Iraq.

Technically defeating an enemy doesn't mean all enemy personnel has been captured/killed and it also doesnt mean the remaining enemies scattered around wouldnt still try to attack. Make una try dey use una brain small abeg; we are talking of human lives here.

Removal of fuel subsidies in 2012 led to a 120% hike in official fuel prices (N65 - N143)

Removal of fuel subsidies now would result in a less than 15% hike in official fuel prices.

Anybody who still questions the rationale behind the massive opposition to subsidy removal in 2012 needs spiritual cleansing.

Another foolishness of IPOD, its PDP financiers and their supporters exposed. Welldone to IgbereTV, HopeforNigeria, RadioB, Trentonline etc. In their minds they claim 'propaganda' was used to remove their lord and savior GEJ, so their motive is to cook up any kind of lie, falsehood or propaganda, no matter how idiotic it may sound to reasonable people, they know their supporters are gullible emotional airheads already, so it is fine. What these dolts do not know is that it is only they and their supporters that swallow their foolish stories and their total population isnt enough to win an election or decide a referendum (which will never happen anyway). Obviously their target is to deceive the undecided Igbos to buy into their separatist ideology, but then, a referendum isnt happening and Nigeria isnt going to be balkanised even in the next 100 years.

It was the same way they engineered the Prof Sagay's fake interview, and now it is the Cardinal. Maybe they would try buhari's children next or even fake the pope. The only disheartening aspect of all this madness is that all Igbos are classified into this pot of madness being brewed by a few empty vessels.

There is no war in Crimea. However there is one in Ukraine which cannot be attributed to the disintegration of USSR. If that should be case, there could have been wars all over eastern Europe which might have triggered world war. The east Ukraine saga is closely related to what could have been obtained in Nigeria where ethnic Russians in Donetsk want to join their brothers in Russia or formed independent nation but fools in Ukraine tend oppose to it.
I only cited that conflict because it is still one of the issues birthed by the balkanization of USSR; something which the soviets are obviously still not happy about till date. The truth is that no country in this world will allow a part of it's territory ceded away without putting up some formidable opposition which more often than not usually degenerates into a violent conflict.

fx45:
Two secessionist states, Catalunya and Basque will be involved in international friendly football games for their men and women tomorrow, saturday December 26th 2015. These are two different nations fighting for separation from the Spanish state. No rancour, no envy, no bitterness.

Now my question is... Why does the issue of Biafra generate so much hatred, bitterness and wickedness in Nigeria? Why do certain people feel threatened whenever Biafra is mentioned? Why do Nigerians wish death on harmless and peaceful pro-Biafran protesters? Why can't we learn from these Spaniards? Why is there so much hate in Nigeria?

Please mature contributions only. If you don't have anything reasonable to say, just read and pass.
It's funny how these largely young Biafran separatists have failed to educate themselves and always point to Spanish separatists and Scotland as perfect examples of nations separating without conflict. Just for your information, Nnamdi kanu was actually right when he said no nation separates peacefully. Scotland has been fighting for independence for centuries and it hasnt always been peaceful. Similarly, the Basque group in Spain has been fighting for independence for ages and their struggle has not been a peaceful one. The Basque separatists at some point were even involved in bombing airports and mass killings. No nation sits back and watches its territory being balkanised, not even an Igbo president will sit back and watch part of Nigerian territory being carted away by one group called ipob or massob.

So the big question is, are these young boisterous and naive separatists ready to sacrifice their lives, the lives of family members and their livelihoods over the election loss of an Ijaw man?... (because no matter how we look at it, the recent escalation of agitations were triggered after the elections). Unlike the 60's when the entire Igbo race was united in this cause, how many comfortable, truly educated and truly enlightened Igbos do you think are actually interested in this crazy road to perdition?... I for one am not interested in it for simple reasons.

Now regarding your question about why there is so much hate for the biafran separatist, the answer to that is very simple and it stares you in the face even though you have obviously refused to see it. Does statement, "the zoo must fall" ring a bell?... That statement doesnt exactly sound like an expression of love or respect does it?.... have you ever spent 5 minutes listening to the cringe inducing hate speeches churned out by mr kanu and spread by his followers on facebook et al?... and with those diabolic hate messages, you expect the subject and object of this hate to reciprocate with love?...

I would close this epistle with a popular Igbo proverb by the great Chinua Achebe:- "the man who brings home ant infested firewood should not complain when lizards start to visit"
Politics › Re: Buhari Is Our Idi'amin by obailala(m): 7:03pm On Dec 25, 2015
And another south eastern wailer opens another wailing thread to vilify buhari. Buhari was already widely labelled as both idi amin and Hitler combined by south eastern wailers even before the mantle of leadership was handed over to him on the 29th of May. Since the handover, all these set of people have been doing is desperately sniff out any justification for their pre-programmed prejudice.

So Mr Justbusy, your thread and complaint isnt anything we have not heard before, we know where you stand already and reasonable people do not take your opinions seriously any more except you are willing to start being mature.

By the way, fresh charges were brought against mr kanu and that's why he's still in custody. That a man arrested for stealing an orange is released by the courts, that does not mean the police do not have the legally backed rights to re-arrest and charge the man for another crime which he also committed.

Lol... And what if the person doesnt come back online within few days?.... You would have already picked up a fight with a friend all because he/she doesn't have network. The big question is, for how many days or weeks or months would one have to wait to confirm if it is truly a case of the person not having your contacts or if its just a case of 'no network' or defective whatsapp?

No privatization in Nigeria has given good result.
It either create more gap between the rich and the poor (more big boyz/Family) or sell us cheaply to foreigners.

The best way to go is for government to sell part of its shares to core investors and partly to the public who are the initial owners.

Privatization of NITEL, Ajaokuta steal company, Eleme Petrochemicals, NigerDock and other National interests (especially OBJ era) has not been in overall interest or achieved its purpose.
Most of the privatisations done in Nigeria have not been done properly, that's why the purpose has never been achieved.

I was part of a team that introduced some foriegn investors to a governor in the south east. They wanted to start a palm plantation and refine the palm oil to meet europe standard before exporting it.

This plantation will employ 2000 people for a start and return about 1.5b per month to the state government. All they needed was land.

The governor asked us how long before ROI (return on investmvent). We told him 6 years cos palm tree takes time to grow. The governor told us he cannot be investing for his successor to come and reap.
I shed a tear after reading this. Why on earth is Africa blessed with everything else except patriotic leaders?.... How did these kind of people end up becoming leaders?
Politics › Re: Why Oil revenue in 2016 budget is just 820 billion naira? An Explanation!! by obailala(m): 1:53pm On Dec 24, 2015
tuale4u:
The IPOB guy did not understand the budget. let me help him explain. I work in oil company.

1. The Federal government budget is the Budget of the federal government alone. Not the Budget of the country.
Thus from the Nigeria sharing formula, the Federal government takes about 54% of the total oil revenue accruing to the country (Nigeria Federation).

2. Most of the oil production in Nigeria are JV and PSC. Using the JV template, Nigeria (the federation not Federal govt) only owns 60% of the oil produced and the Oil companies owns the remaining 40% of the oil produced per day .

thus the 2.2 million per day, only 0.6*2.2million=1.32million belong to Nigeria (The federation).

Federal govt share (Potential) = 0.54*1.32million=712,800 per day.

3. The actual average production per day is about 80% of the Potential production
this is because of 20% shutdown for maintenance, unplanned shut downs, pipeline vandalisation etc.

Thus the Federal govt actual average production per day = 0.8*712,800=570,240.

4. Today the average cost of production per barrel in Nigeria is about $18 per barrel.
Actually some onshore field cost are as low as $10 per barrel while some deep offshore and shallow offshore cost are as high as $25 dollar per barrel. Today more than 60% of Nigeria crude are from Offshore. thus using an average cost of $18 per barrel is realistic.

Thus out of the $38 dollar per barrel price of oil, the net revenue to the govt is about $20 per barrel.

thus the expected revenue to federal government from direct sales of Crude oil in 2016 is:

= $20 *199naira/1$ *570240*366*billion/1000000000= 830billion naira

From my estimation the Federal government expected revenue from direct oil sales is about 830billion naira which is very close to 820 billion naira estimated from federal government.

However, this is not all the federal govt get from having oil in this country. The oil companies pay company tax in hunderds of billion of naira.
But the govt choose to call it company tax because other companies that are not oil companies pay tax too. However the company Tax of oil companies is about 85% of their profit. Thus of the about 1.5 trillion naira expected revenue from Company Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Customs and Excise duties, and Federation Account levies, about 50% of it are coming from oil companies.
Thanks for this well articulated explanation, I didnt even know much of this myself. Regarding the IPOb guys, I can assure you that no matter how well you explain this to them, they have already traded their brains for foolish sentiments and would never be able to understand what you are saying. However, do not let their responses discourage you, because there are actually a lot of 'quiet' people on this site who are genuinely willing to learn and who would learn a lot from such brilliant posts.

Regarding the office of the first lady, Buhari scrapped the office of the first lady but that does not change the fact that Aisha still remains the wife of the president who would still enjoy some privileges for being the spouse of a president. Scrapping the office of first lady simply means there would be no more FG budgetary allocations to the office anymore. It is as simple as that and it doesnt mean the president would have to lock his wife in purdah just to please some irrational critics.

My brother, our situation can be likened to a family that is to choose between enduring hardship while planning for better days ahead and borrowing more money to satisfy the present but endanger the future. Left for me, I'd have preferred austerity that may last between two to three years than a stimulus arrangement that may subject us into more burden in the future.
Politics is at play here. I'm sure you know elections are conducted every 4 years and APC would be too scared to not to have any 'physical' achievements to show by 2019. If APC was certain about staying beyond 2019, then maybe they may have considered the austerity option. But what you see here is a case of politicking for 2019; they are even too scared of removing subsidy payment, all for the sake of maintaining supporters on the short term
