Oh...now you agree Igbos have to lead you before you do the right thing. Even with every industry expert saying subsidy is ruining our economic growth SWers still occupied Lagos without discussion with d fg but now giving excuses y you cant do same for confab report. Like I said and honestly so you guys never wanted resource control or restructuring...you guys are just pretenders. Go back in history and look at all the national issues, SWers always sit on the fence undecided
May I inform u firstly that I am from the SE... Secondly it was a silly thing to remove the entire fuel subsidies instantly thereby slamming an increase in fuel prices by more that 100%; everyone was involved in the rejection except pathetically blind followers of GEJ. I'm sure you also did not support that removal in 2012. How can you tell me you are punishing 160million people because you lack the political will or courage to call some of your rogues friends (subsidy cabal) to order?

Regarding if the SW wants regional rule, they have always called for regional autonomy in every single national conference so what do you have to say about that?... The 2015 election between GEJ vs Buhari had absolutely nothing to do with a support of regionalism or not because both GEJ and PMB showed absolutely no commitment to that cause. GEJ organised the national conference simply as an election/political tool.

Don't make me laugh. Igbos have been fighting to get out of Nigeria back when it was still a protectorate in the 'Ekumeku war'. We also fought the Biafran war. On both occasions, we gave a good account of our selves but we were outgunned. Igbos are part of Nigeria not out choice but out of 'enforcement'. The bad Governance in Nigeria is out of the inability of Nigeria to work as a nation. Sometimes in life, there are things that cannot work despite the best of intentions. Nigeria is fundamentally flawed, it will never work. The Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo man are as different as day and night and all 3 don't even like each other so where is this miracle you are hoping for going to come from? In Biafra, if my fellow Igbo steals public money, I know where to go and get him. In Biafra, there is no where to hide. Nigeria is a failed British experiment and it is time to divide it into smaller manageable units for effective Governance and one of those units is Biafra.
I specifically asked you to forget the federal level and focus on the performance at the level of states which are dominantly 99.9% Igbos.

If SW really care about the implementation of the confab why can't they jump to d street like they did with subsidy removal? Abi dem need Igbo permission? This just tells you SW are pretenders....they don't want the implementation of d confab undecided
Quit deceiving yourself, somebody always has to start the agitation.... and it is very myopic to say it is only the SW that took to the street when fuel prices jumped from N65 to N142.

I thought regional autonomy was an agendum in the many agenda of the national conference.
kingzizzy:
It was but the North rejected it. And now we have a northern Nigerian president, it will never see the light of day. The North gains too much from unitary rule to ever let it go.
It will never see the light of the day because no one is clamouring for it. Only the NW + NE is fully against regional autonomy. If the SE + SW + SS (which all want regional autonomy) can unite in purpose with the large chunk of the NC, regional autonomy can be actualised; as a matter of fact, it is far more achievable than the outright secession which some people are jumping into instead.

After all you write up, you do not have the brain to understand the obvious, even after 55 years of disastrous nationhood. You will never have good Governance under Nigeria. Only you can give your self good Governance and that is why you should aspire to your own country. With what you know about Nigerias history, why do you still believe in this British contraption called Nigeria that had never worked? You need another 55 years of no light, no water, no good roads and bad Governance before you realise that Nigeria should be broken up into smaller units so it can work rather than one big unit that is a faliure?
Wake up from your slumber
But strangely, Igbos have always been an integral part of this 55 years of disastrous nationhood both at the federal level and especially at the state levels?... If these set of people in leadership could be disastrous when they answered Nigeria, what sort of fairy tale miracle will make them saints simply because they change name?... No doubt Nigeria is a british contraption, but you will agree with me that Igbos have also contributed a great deal to the dysfunctionality of this contraption called Nigeria....

Let us forget the federal and focus on the state levels, never has it been heard of since 1960 till date that federal allocations were not paid to Igbo states. So my brother, what did Igbo leaders do with the moneys?... If we had problems managing moneys at the local level, how then would changing of name make us any better?... Why can't these agitations be made against local Igbo leaders i.e. state governors, LGA chairmen, councillors, Senators, Reps and traditional rulers?... Why cant these street agitations be made to force the implementation of the national conference report?

Agitating to force the implementation of the conference report is a cause which both the SS and the SW and most parts of the NC would gladly support and join and in no time, we would be very close to achieving regionalism.

Ordinary ministries are dysfunctional in Nigeria. State is a practical joke when state governors are impostors of head of state. Nigeria is a dumbass practical joke that will never work. The call of false or true federalism via regional structure is a dishonest hogwash. Best thing that will ever happen to inhabitants of the crap called Nigeria which was created by jackass British imperialists is total disintegration. I do not care if Nigeria disintegrates into 250 nation states. Anybody who lives outside the zoo called Nigeria can only begin to see the filth of the country.
The way some of you guys believe in some fairy tales is really baffling. That Nigerian ministries are dysfunctional, is it not humans that have made them dysfunctional?.... Are Igbos not fully involved in this dysfunctional process?.... So please tell me why you so think that these dysfunctionalities will automatically be reversed when we change our name from Nigeria to Biafra?... Where would the miracle come from?.... We presently have state ministries in the SE which are also as dysfunctional and these ministries are manned 100% by Igbos. How on earth you guys all think that these things will change miraculously when we change our name is one mystery no one has been able to answer.

When we are not able to clean our house, we put the blame on our neighbours who dont even step into our compound. I really cannot fathom this mystery.

My question is , why are those of in the south not doing anything about it?
If only the sort of massive agitations we are seeing on the streets today were in favour of a call for the implementation of the national conference report, in my opinion, that would be a more reasonable, a more honourable, a more sincere and a more feasible target which is worth agitating for and I can bet my life that the entire SS and also the entire SW would pour out in the streets in support until the report is implemented. But instead what do we have?... We have some confused people come up some ill-thought idea of secession (which if achieved would most likely end up a social and political disaster) and of course, they find it very easy to use the sweet words of a promised paradise to deceive and brainwash struggling artisans and street urchins to pour into the streets to constitute a nuisance.

How can any group succeed without building proper alliances or without cooperating with neighbours who seek similar goals?... Not a single effort has been made so far to press for the implementation of the conference report. Yet we jump into secession.

what happened to the national conference reports? You are nothing. But an 1diot
Look boy, this is a serious matter and calling someone an 1diot in a simple argument only exposes your pitiable level of intelligence and poor upbringing.

If you read what I wrote, it would be clear to you that it is only the north, specifically the NW and NE that are opposed to the implementation of the national conference reports and there has to be some meaningful agitations for it to be implemented. It is not enough to just sit down at home and wail that the 'north' will never allow it to be implemented, and then the next thing you do is jump in the streets and start shouting secession. What efforts or pressure has ever been put to get the conference report implemented?

If only the sort of massive agitations we are seeing on the streets today were in favour of a call for the implementation of the national conference report, I can bet my life that the entire SS and also the entire SW would support and join in the streets; south westerners are always excited to jump in the streets for protests but would only do that when the cause is reasonable (and favourable to them). So I ask again, what efforts have been made to press for the implementation of the conference report?

You are the one incapable of deep thinking here. HOW YOU THINK THAT, THE NORTH WILL AGREE TO NEGOTIATE WITH YOU IF YOU DON'T FORCE THEM TO? WE HAVE TO ASPIRE FOR SOMETHING HIGHER, AND BE READY TO MAKE COMPROMISES DURING THE NEGOTIATION, IF YOU WANT TO SELL SOMETHING TO A PERSON, AND THERE IS NO FIXED PRICE, AND FOR EXAMPLE YOU WANT 2000, WON'T YOU TELL THE PERSON EVEN 5000, SO HE CAN NEGOTIATE TO HIS OWN POCKET, IF YOU TELL HIM 2000 DIRECTLY, HE WILL NOW BE NEGOTIATING 500, ARE YOU NOT THE LOOSER HERE?
Now this is the genesis of the problem, the bolded part of your statement is exactly what the problem is; thinking that it is only by force that you can achieve certain milestones. I'm sorry to say this, but this is purely the evidence of a person or group of persons who are incapable of deep thought or strategic thinking, hence they always resort to the gra-gra approach which is never effective.

The problem has never been the north, the problem has always been the foolishness of the southern zones to unite in a single purpose to break the northern hegemony. The SW, the SS, the SE and a large chunk of the NC have always clamoured for regionalism but the stumbling block ERRONEOUSLY APPEARS to have always been the north. But bro, a closer observation will reveal to you that the TRUE problem since 1966 till date has always been the inability of the southern zones to work together and speak with one voice.

Politics › Re: Buhari's Big Ministerial Appointment Mistake by obailala(m): 3:48pm On Nov 11, 2015
Lordave:
With the history of poor, erratic and unsteady power supply associated with past governments, even Maitama residents would be anticipating the APC trademark 'Change' to sweep across the ministry of power and somehow or anyhow solve the problem of nonexistent power supply in most parts of the country.
Alas, Buhari, today decided to name former Lagos State governor, Mr Raji Babatunde Fashola as the minister of merged former Ministries of Power, Works and Housing.
From a progressive perspective every sensible Nigerian would agree that this is a very big mistake from our president. The ministry of Work and Housing alone is a deserving ministry for a person of Fashola's calibre and administrative prowess to pilot, likewise Power. Heading the Ministry of Works and Housing in Nigeria is very cumbersome and almost equivalent to the numerous tasks he faced as the Governor of Lagos State were he had commissioners who were accountable to him, let alone Power being added to this workload of a Portfolio.
I'm tempted to ask, did Buhari seek advice and make proper consultation before handing these merged portfolio to Mr Fashola? If he did, what were his findings? Which people supported his merging of these ministries?(they should be named so we can know those who indirectly oppose our progress)
In a nutshell, it was unexpected, unprogressive, nonsensical and most especially, unacceptable merging of this work laden ministries and handing it over to one man considering the immediate change Nigerians are expecting in the power sector. Buhari should separate this ministries and make Mr Fashola a minister to one of them.

It would be inevitable hearing APC faithfuls say, "after all it is merged ministry, and as such presents a herculean task to the government in bringing a reasonable level of change to what we had in the previous administrations who are responsible for the majority of ruins in the ministries.

WE DO NOT WANT EXCUSES!
The merged ministry for Power, Works and Housing is no doubt a herculean ministry, and as such needs a Hercules to man it; Fashola has just been made the Defacto Prime Minister of Nigeria. Something you need to understand however is that Buhari wasn't joking when he called the ministers "Noise Makers." The ministries have now been repositioned in such a way that the permanent secretaries would be very powerful and would be the ones doing most of the work, even while the ministers would only just report as noise makers to Nigerians and the presidency.

Politics › Re: Buhari As The Minister Of Petroleum - Constitutionally Right Or Wrong? by obailala(m):
Does the president have the constitutional rights to scrap or merge ministries?

If the answer to the above question is YES, then I would want to believe the president can also decide not to appoint a petroleum minister.

Now regarding the motive behind this question, I would imagine there are only 3 sets of people who would be bothered with the decision of the president not to appoint a petroleum minister:

1. People who directly or indirectly think they or their folks deserve to be appointed to this position.

2. People with shallow minds who see every appointment ONLY as an avenue to amass wealth; these people are furious that 'PMB is chopping president money and now he also wants to greedily chop petroleum minister's money.'

3. People who just hate PMB and whatever he stands for and who believe they owe it as a duty to themselves to oppose any and everything PMB does.

Besides the people falling into the categories above, I see absolutely no reason why anyone should be bothered if PMB thinks it is best for him to have no petroleum minister.

I may not necessarily want to form a republic with Igbos in the south east, but I believe the call for Biafra is coming at the right time for the following reasons:

Resource control: They call for resource control started at the height of the Niger delta struggle culminating in the death of ken sarowiwa in 1995 and later championed by the likes of James ibori and Alamesigha( may his soul rest in peace). At some point we believed we could get the derivation formula raised to 30% after the implementation of 13% but subsequent constitutional conferences as held by obasanjo and Jonathan the northern cabal at the conferences, vehemently opposed anything resource control and the conferences never saw the light of the day. Those of us in the Niger Delta must take a definitive stance on what we want and how to go about it but that's where my fears lies in that the Niger delta hardly ever speaks with one voice and in most cases do not even have a voice at all. Therefore, the quest for Biafra is the quest for the neglected, downtrodden, exploited, people in this carapace called Nigeria. We can work with the Biafran team to achieve our goal besides, I can hardly see the Niger Delta struggle coaxing into a force like the Biafran struggle. MEND and the likes tried but sold out at the end and likes of Tom polo became emergency billionaires while Oka languishes in jail in SA. Ogoni as a people made impact too but everything died down with the death of ken sarowiwa. I remember Sarowiwa approached Ojukwu in Enugu sometime in 1994 but thats by the way. But with Biafra, we have a large ethnic group with their grieviances who are determined as it were to make a head way. We can join forces with them to achieve our own goal and while doing that, i will not mind a Bendel repulblic or a restructured nigeria where equity and fair play is obtainable in addition, as a member of the lower Niger area and from what I have seen, most ethnic group from rivers, cross river and akwa ibom will most likely root for Biafra because of ethnic affinity than a core Niger delta republic with no compass or bearing

Lopsided Nigerian structure;
Those of us in the lower Niger area believe for Nigeria to survive, we need to restructure into a regional a government something close to what obtained in the first republic or a confederation where even the south east region can even adopt the name Biafra and the Niger delta will take up their name as well. Canada has this kind of autonomy, same as the UK with even Scotland agitating for secession but narrowly failed after a referendum. We are also planning for a referendum come 2017 in the lower Niger area and we hope to achieve our objective of either outright secession or a restructured Nigeria where equity and fairness obtains.

Which way Nigeria;
The truth is Nigeria can not continue in this present trajectory unless we become a Yugoslavia of Africa.
The only beneficial and the only achievable thing anyone from the southern regions of Nigeria should be fighting for is a return to regionalism; it comes with all the benefits of a secession and it avoids the numerous dangers of an outright break-up. Secession is an ill-thought suicide mission and it is obviously being championed by people who are incapable of deep thinking.

Like I always said, it is mainly the never-do-wells that are killing themselves over this IPOB biafran hustle. These misguided youths personally have nothing, hence they dont really give a damn about the trillions that other Igbos have in investments all over Nigeria.

No comfortable Igbo man can be foolish enough to subscribe to the preaching of hate and violence against other major tribes, knowing well that Igbos would be the ONLY ONES to lose trillions in investments when the opponents reciprocate.

If there is any tribe that needs the unity and peace in Nigeria most, it is the Igbos because we have more than 70% of our investments and wealth outside the south east. Instead of forming an alliance with all other proponents of regionalism (SS, SW & parts of the NC), these guys are busy burning bridges and creating enemies for the well meaning Igbos. The real mistake of PDP was fielding Jonathan in 2015. Jonathan was too unpopular and over-compromised. If the PDP fielded someone else, even if it was another Bayelsa man as their candidate in 2015, the PDP would have still been in power.

For many who voted Buhari in 2015, it wasnt really about a love for an old Buhari, it was rather in a bid to remove Jonathan, and yeah, it had nothing to do with Jonathan's tribe.
