What a brainless head.
If the outgone govt was owing, must you continue the trend?
Why haven't you paid yours?
The new government is still getting used to being in power; besides, the nation is still running on the budget of 2015 which was created by the old government. Wait for 2016.

...and by the way, you are obviously the brainless head for rejoicing that a new government has not yet paid off all the evil debts accrued by a useless past government.

What I term injustice isn't even about an igbo leading the government but rather the gross neglect of infrastructure amongst other things. Do u think that if Nigeria is functioning well with right infrastructure and a sound economic index which translate to the common man on d street in all regions that any body will clamour to secede? Truth is that our governments have failed us and due to our tribalistic and nepotistic tendencies we can never unite and fight the government to give us what we expect.
Good thing that you are aware it is the government that has failed us, and not 'other tribes' as is always peddled. This government we talk of is made up of people from every single tribe, yet for political convenience and through decades of political manipulations, we have been deceived to believe that the failure of our governments (at the local level) is caused by forces from other tribes. How we have swallowed this lie for decades and allowed it to sink into our psyches is what I term, 'mental slavery.'

If you carry out your investigations meticulously, you will realise that not only does every other tribe in Nigeria suffer from the same injustice the Igbos suffer from but also, the main actors behind the injustice (in the case of infrastructural neglect in the SE) are actually some dubious unpatriotic Igbo leaders who go to Abuja to oil their pockets only. Until we purge our minds of the effects of these decades of misdiagnosis and look inwards, we will never be able to see this glaring fact.

In my opinion, the biggest problem faced by Igbos are Igbo leaders (at the local and national level). Until we learn to look inwards and channel this revolution to tackle this local problem, we will be wasting our time if we continue to fight outsiders. Even if a separation is achieved without FIRST tackling this problem of unpatriotic dubious leaders, Biafra would be nothing but chaos. Before we start talking of what 'others' are doing to us, we must first talk about what we are doing to clean our own house.
Politics › Re: The Black Man's Struggle ( Biafra) by obailala(m): 11:47am On Nov 04, 2015
Setaje:
The Black Man's Propensity To Always Fight The Wrong Battle.
CASE STUDY: (BIAFRA)

As a young Nigerian Woman, I have always wondered if there is something inherently wrong with the black mind. I have often tried to understand what exactly is our utmost desire and why most of the time, our emotions are much greater than logic.

The Biafran struggle is not an Igbo struggle but also a black man's struggle. Our wants most of the time are largely driven by our emotions at that moment and never for the good of humanity. The Biafran dream is a pipe dream that can never be achieved unless the agitators channel their anger to the right direction. As different as we are in Nigeria, we have so many similarities that makes us stand out. A Northern Nigerian is very different from the people in Niger and Chad like wise an average Nigerian seems to stand out in a group of different Africans. The difference is the Nigerian spirit.

I don't believe in co-incidences. It is an Atheist definition of Destiny. We are Nigerians because it was meant to be. We are in the same Country due to a much greater power and reason beyond human comprehension. Our differences is our beauty. Our differences is what makes Nigeria colorful. An average Nigerian has the same hopes and struggles as a "biafran". We all have the same dreams. We all experience the same kind of pain and annoyance. No Nigerian has it easy because he belongs to a particular tribe and even the hausas that ruled Nigeria for many years, their people have nothing to show for it. We Nigerians from different tribes need each other because we are fighting the same struggle. We need each other because we compliment each other. The hausa man is very comfortable in agriculture, the Igbo man is very comfortable in his business, just provide a good environment for his business to thrive, the yoruba man loves knowledge. Many other minority groups are linked to the three major tribes. Add all this strength and you will get a prosperous economy. What is life without food, business and knowledge?

Nigeria is in a bad state because the citizens are fighting the wrong battle. Just as other black nations Like South sudan, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, South Africa and their killing of foreigners. Etc. Whatever an igbo man is going through is the same thing for a yoruba man and an hausa man. No free food, no free shelter and no free health care. Each ethnic group has it representatives in the federal level, state level and local government level. In jonathans government the igbos were well represented yet their leaders could not help in speeding up the completion of Niger bridge or the erosion menace in the south east. Who do you blame for this? The government or your government? Isn't it going to be the same friends and relatives of the "Zoo" that will rule in Biafra? The yorubas had nothing to show for years with obasanjo as the president. The only sense of belonging to an average Nigerian is when their people of the same ethnic group are in the government. That is a misplaced sense of judgement. Equal representation does not mean development.

So What exactly are the Biafran agitators fighting for? What have they put in place in their economy that an average igbo man would look up to? What would happen to the businesses and properties outside the east? Would food become cheaper by having biafra? Would houses become cheaper? Would roads be constructed? Would the Niger bridge be built? Would erosion stop? Would the igbos stop living the south east in their thousands because the government is doing nothing.

•If the ipob youths both in Nigeria and abroad can come out to demonstrate against the Igbo leaders the way they demonstrated against the Nigerian government for the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, that is the beginning of our revolution.

•If kidnappers start kidnapping politicians and their wives and children for a huge ransome, instead of kidnapping ordinary Nigerians who work tooth and nail to get to where they are with no help from the government whatsoever, that is the beginning of our revolution.

•If Bokoharam started years ago by killing the Northern politicians that have deceived their youths, stolen their common wealth and use religion to deceive them into not aiming high in life. That would have been the beginning of our revolution.

But, like the black man and his inherent nature to always fight the wrong battle, we would keep making the same mistake. What you cannot get out of Nigeria, you cannot get it in Biafra.
God bless you for this beautiful write-up. It is unfortunate that the typical black man's mind cannot reason beyond a certain threshold. That is the exact reason we always misdiagnose the problems, identify the wrong enemy and always fight the wrong battles.

Some say they are fighting firstly for freedom, but what they obviously cannot realise is that they only suffer from mental slavery; and being in this mental captivity, they will never be able to diagnose what the real problem is.

Fine...... Let assume the remaining 20% is from this new government just under few months....... Unlike the 80% after many years which I'm still sure many were incurred by the government before GEJ.... Now check the statistics you one chance victim
After which many years?.... The report states it clearly that the debt accrued from August 2014. GEJ's government for reasons best known to it refused to pay subsidies during his last days. Most of these moneys were diverted for elections and probably, he knew he would lose the election so therefore couldnt be bothered.

It may also interest you to note that the subsidy bill per litre of petrol has dropped massively in the last 4 months; the demand (and supply) for imported petrol has also dropped greatly within the past months due to the relative improvement in power supply and the little extra supply which comes from the PH and kaduna refineries. If you consider these little factors, it would be clear to you that even more than 80% of this debt was incurred under GEJ within his last few months.

If Yorubas and Hausas keep opposing Biafra at the same time refuses to treat Igbos well, that hate speech will capture the hearts of many and turning them to determined freedom fighters

That guy KANU is not stupid

Ikengawo take note
Survival in Nigeria is like a rat race where everyone goes out into the field to scratch out a living for himself and his own people. Expecting yorubas and hausas to treat igbos well is like expecting your COMPETITORS in a game to struggle, win the price and then hand the trophy over to you on a platter, that's a childish expectation and it's never going to happen; and YES, they are COMPETITORS not ENEMIES. The earlier we begin to see and treat them as such, the better.

From history, there are not many freedom fights or separations which were achieved through hate mongering except it shall involve a very bloody war. Nnamdi Kanu knows this very well, hence he has continued to embrace the hate mongering approach and totally discarded the option of peaceful separation. I'm sorry to say this but that is far from WISDOM.

Igbos are NEVER going to fight another war and Kanu's approach will only stir up unnecessary hatred and create problems for igbos living peacefully across Nigeria. I am yet to see any sensible igbo elder who approves of Kanu's diabolic methods. I am also yet to see any COMFORTABLE Igbo man living outside the southeast who also supports this violent and hate based approach. If Ipob cannot get the full backing of all igbos, i wonder how it intends to succeed.

That's not how it works. Let the Radio Biafra people come up with a solid and sound strategy outside of attack attack attack. IF they want to attack Yoruba and hausa I support, but why attack the catholic church when the catholic church was originally pro-Biafra? They have even attacked the whole of Africans as a race.
You were making sense when you started but you lost it and started sounding exactly like the tactless bunch you were criticising. You started off well by criticising them for senselessly attacking the UK, US, the church and the entire Africa, but then you turn around to say you support their senseless attacks and hate preaching against Yorubas and hausas. As long as the foundation of ipob's campaign is built on hate, hate and hate; attack, attack and attack, then the movement is as good as useless noise.

Politics › Re: Why It Is Illogical To Claim That 'PDP' Destroyed Nigeria For Sixteen Years by obailala(m): 11:37pm On Nov 02, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
I am usually taken aback whenever officers of the present APC administration release statements and interviews to sermonise Nigerians on how PDP administration has destroyed Nigeria for 16years and how they are working on fixing the mess created by PDP.

It is non-contestable that between May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2015, "PDP"(in quote) occupied the seat of power in Abuja and control majority states in the federation. However, we have to get our fact right with respect to "who destroyed Nigeria between 99 and 2015". I believe we should do a holistic analysis on this subject.

Presidents and Vice Between 1999-2015
Nigeria had three presidents between May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2015. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Late Mallam Umaru Yar'adua and Dr Goodluck Jonathan. Of the three, Obasanjo spent eight years in office(1999-2007), Yar'adua three years (May 2007-May 2010) and Dr Jonathan five years (May 2010-May 2015). Obasanjo with highest number of time spent(Eight years) denounced PDP to become APC and Buhari's navigator to office. Similarly, of the three vice presidents between the period, Atiku Abubakar spent the most number of years in office (Eight, 1999-2007). He not only moved to AC/APC while in office in 2006, he also aspired to rule Nigeria on APC platform in 2014 and is a member of APC's Board of Trustees.

Speakers of House of Representative Between 1999-2015
Between 1999 and 2015 Nigeria had six Speakers of Federal House of Representative. There are Salisu Buhari (June -July 1999), Ghali Na'aba(July 1999-June 2003), Aminu Bello Mansari (June 2003-June 2007), Madam Patricia Etteh (June 2007-November 2007), Dimeji Bankole (Nov 2007-June 2011) and Waziri Tambawal(June 2011-June 2015). Of all Six former Speakers, FOUR are members of APC (Na'aba, Mansari, Etteh and Tambawal) with a combined period of TWELVE YEARS in office out of the sixteen years. Mansari and Tambawal are APC Governors of Katsina and Sokoto states respectively.

Prominent Government Officials:
Nasir Elrufai was DG Bureau for Public Enterprise and Secretary of National Council on Privatisation between 1999 and 2003. He later became minister of FCT between 2003 and 2007. As DG BPE and Secretary of NCP, he supervised the privatisation of NEPA, NITEL etc..ALL were emershed in controversy. By virtue of his office, Atiku Abubakar was the Chairman of NCP between 1999 and 2007. Both men supervised the privatisation of public companies for the period. They are APC members.

Danjuma Goje, was the minister of state for power between 1999 and 2003. Rabiu Kwankwaso was minister of Defence between 2003 and 2007. Both are members of APC BoT and Senators. Samuel Orthom served as minister of state, trade and investment between 2011 and 2015. Nasir Elrufai was minister of FCT between 2003 and 2007. They are now Governors of Benue and Kaduna states respectively. Should we wash all these away?

State Administrations Between 1999-2015:
Between 1999 and 2015, Gombe has had three Governors, Abubakar Hashidu (4years), Danjuma Goje (8years) and Ibrahim Dankwambo(4years). Both Hashidu and Goje are members of APC. That is a combined 12years.

In Kwara state, all governors since 1999 are APC members save late Lawal who ruled under APP.

In Anambra state, ex-Govs Mbadiniju (4years), Nwabuweze Chris Ngige (3years), and Peter Obi(8years) were Governors. Mbadinuju and Ngige are APC members. That is a combined 7years between 1999-2014. PDP Obi held sway for 8 years.

Similarly, in Benue state George Akume was held sway from 1999-2007(and Senator 2007 till date). Is APC chieftain.

All Governors of Osun state between 1999 till date are APC members. Also in Ekiti state, of the 16 years, PDP's Fayose only had four. Otunba Niyi Adebayo(4years), Segun Oni (3 years) and Fayemi (4years) are BoT members of APC.

In Abia state, Uzo Kalu that held sway between 1999 to 2007 is a Chief of APC. APC Govs has been in power in Lagos state all through the period.

In Zamfara state, APC Govs held sway for TWELVE out of the 16years. In Rivers state APC Chieftain Rotimi Amaechi was not only Governor for eight years(of the 16years), he also served as Speaker for the other part of 8years. Plateau state Governor Simon lalong was a Speaker during the Dariye administration. The list is endless.

APC Claim Is Illogical
We can see that between 1999 and May 2015 individuals occupied various political offices, the actions(and inactions) of these office-holders contributed to the decline of the Nigeria and her economy. Majority of these people were at one time or the other indicted for corrupt practices and fraud while in office. Most of these people are members of APC and some appointed into offices. ALL of them combined are responsible for the sorry state of things in Nigeria. We can't forget so soon that it was Saraki and Amaechi(as NGF Chairpersons) that moved for the Sharing and depletion of the Excess Crude Account, which GEJ bowed to between 2007 and 2012. In fact, theyalso pushed for the sharing of One Billion Dollars in Soveriegn Wealth Fund but was resisted by Jonathan. Today, Saraki is not just APC Senator but also the Senate President, while Amaechi is a minister-designate. Can we forget so soon that Audu Ogbeh, a minister-designate and APC Senator Barnabas Germade were PDP National Chairmen between these period. The claim by APC defies logic in every sense.

Finally, the continuous claim by the Buhari administration that "PDP destroyed Nigeria" for sixteen years only shows that the present administration is yet to understand the problem of Nigeria. Worse still, it is an indictment on all those those that held one offices or the other since 1999 especially at federal level. With Buhari having some of these people in his government and other positions of leadership, shows the insincerity of the government and ruling APC. I will advice that Buhari save Nigerians these excuses and focus on the job he was elected to do. PDP is not the name of any official, APC Chieftains have been part of the system.

May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria
Tonye, before you continue massaging your ego with all these your watery analysis which fetches you countless likes from your wailing colleagues, can you kindly also point out to us the period when BUHARI AND OSINBAJO were members of your destruction party? smiley

If you are still unable to see that the CHANGE we talk about is BUHARI himself, then it's a pity.
