Government job is to make the economic exciting for investors.

Saving money does not, people will starve and you won't build any infrastructure.

Government is suppose to generate enough tax to build infrastructures that will make it good for local and international investors, also the money generated will be used to open up new industries for more tax generations

Do you have an idea the sheer number of foreign companies that left Nigeria because they lacked forex to repatriate their profits? Even Emirates were on the verge of packing up just last month.

Do you have an idea of the sheer number of foreign companies that have refused to come into Nigeria because they fear their businesses will be strangulated by the forex crisis?

Are you aware that the majority of economic problems Nigeria has faced since late 2014 are linked with the forex crisis and the crashing of the exchange rate?

Are you aware that if Nigeria had substantial saving like other serious countries, the savings would have cushioned most of the problems we've had in the last 7 years and also promoted investor confidence?

The 2023 election is still a very much open contest and any of the 3 major contenders can still win it with the right work.

When refining starts fully, Nigeria would stop importing petroleum products, subsidy payments will be stopped and the downstream sector would be fully deregulated; i.e. Dangote (and other smaller refinery owners) would be permitted to fix prices. And guess what? Dangote (and the other refinery owners) would not sell for anything less than N300/litre.

Nigerians would hear 'wiiiii' when this happens, but we'll eventually get used to it (like everything else). Overall, the economy would be better for it; the improvement in the economy would be mega mega (I envy whoever would be president when that refinery starts full production).
