Are the cars SUVs or not? Is an SUV used for Uber in this part of the world? Really??
You're beginning to sound funny?. Please provide us the link to where you got the info from that the cars are meant to be used for UBer.
PoliticsRe: David Hundeyin: FG Approves ₦1.4 Billion To Buy 10 Vehicles For Niger by obailala(m): 8:21am On Aug 03, 2022
Grandmeister:
I already came to the conclusion because it was mentioned that the cars are Toyota SUVs. An SUV is not made for mass transit, which means it won’t be generating incomes for the government. If it isn’t generating incomes then it is likely not a grant or a loan. Then why spend so much money that isn’t a grant or a loan on another sovereign country not in war? This is called deductive reasoning, you should try it sometimes.
Must a vehicle be for 'mass transit' or for Uber (i.e. generating income) before it can be classed as useful?

Fact is that both you and I do not know who or what the vehicles are meant for; we just read a blank paper document revealing the release of funds for 10 vehicles to be sent to Niger. Whilst we all agree that bizarre things arent unusual for this government, dont you think it's equally bizarre to just jump into conclusions on a matter you have absolutely no info about?
PoliticsRe: David Hundeyin: FG Approves ₦1.4 Billion To Buy 10 Vehicles For Niger by obailala(m):
Iykopee:
You are equally not providing an answer to the question u raised.
Gandollaar:
Please tell us what you know.
RepoMan007:
You can start by telling us. Poverty capital of the world and you expect people not to rage before asking questions. Probably to be fuelled by our smuggled petrol. Okay o.
I'm not a government official, and neither am I a part of this government. I dont know what the vehicles are meant for; that's why I asked if there's anyone here who knows.

Apparently, just like me, no one here knows what or who the vehicles are meant for.
PoliticsRe: David Hundeyin: FG Approves ₦1.4 Billion To Buy 10 Vehicles For Niger by obailala(m): 8:04am On Aug 03, 2022
Grandmeister:
Because it doesn’t matter! These are Toyota SUVs not even buses, so they are likely for government and private use! Who gives another country a billion naira for cars?? It’s understandable when you give grants and loans to a neighbouring country but money for cars?? A private car that isn’t used for mass transit is a liability and not an asset, it can’t generate any income. Get it now?
So in essence you dont have the answer to my question? i.e. you do not know what the vehicles are meant for?

We both dont know what the vehicles are meant for; but do you realise what you're doing is called 'jumping into conclusions based on assumptions'?

This has to be the DUMBEST and most unnecessary in the long history of fact-checks.

What's the essence of fact-checking a statement which was made live in public with the videos all over?
PoliticsRe: David Hundeyin: FG Approves ₦1.4 Billion To Buy 10 Vehicles For Niger by obailala(m): 7:25am On Aug 03, 2022
What exactly are the vehicles meant for?

Curiously no one seems to have asked this and apparently no one here cares to know.

But boss IR night visions would only help em see clearly at Night not help them count the number of bandits within the corner, the vision would still have been a lil useless without air support
Trust me, air support would be overkill for these ragtag illiterate militia. THe only reason they could kill the soldiers was cos the soldiers were BLIND and ambushed. Imagine walking blindly into a forest saturated with the enemy waiting for you in the deep of night? THe soldiers couldn't see them, couldn't establish their positions and even thought they were just 20 - 30 enemies, when infact they were possibly over 200?

With a single thermal vision goggle, the soldiers in addition to spotting the large number of hostiles, could have also established their exact positions and taken them out with artilllery (no need to even step close to the forest). THe corrupt greedy military heirarchy are the ones responsible for the carnage in this country. If the top heirarchy reallly wants all these to end, they know what to do.

As in eh….the daft tactics employed by them is pro max!
I dont even know whether to blame the soldiers or their crude tactics. I think the real problem and the real culprits are the government and the military heirarchy that have pocketed billions but still failed to provide the most basic equipment for the troops. Troops going into ground combat without armour vests, vision goggles, vehicles and very often with limited bullets.

Government hand dey inside this one very well. Our security architecture is compromised and I have every right to believe it has religious jihad motive on the part of the sponsors.
How can the army not have eyes in the sky watching that forest? I have friends that use their personal drones to monitor traffic before hitting the road, some even use it to spy their estate for security threats before leaving the house!…..the a whole Nigerian Army cannot peep into the forest using military grade drones? Haba na? They’re compromised already.
Principalities within the authority are using the left hand to supply weapons and intel to these terrorists and sacrificing the lives of our young soldiers for nothing!
Everything Obadiah Mailafia said is gradually making sense…….every damn thing he said about the plans of these people is what is playing before our eyes. Let us all shine our eyes…..
Drones are even too far; whatever happened to using simple IR night vision goggles? Imagine soldiers saying they saw torchlight in the forest and then proceeded into an ambush cos they didnt know the bandits were plenty. With the billions of dollars spent on defence, simple heat signature/thermal imaging night vision goggles which I can buy off ebay could have solved this problem. Nigeria is led by animals!

Something is not right.
These bandits are no match for Nigeria soldiers
Yet the inside job helps to cover them up
Sad to say,
The government is into this
Mostly on ground oof religion ( my opinion)
For so long, we have wrongly focused on religion in this country. But what I've learnt recently is that all these have absolutely nothing to do with religion. The attackers are Fulani and it's purely a tribal agenda with the Fulanis trying to take over Nigeria (their so called 'promises land') to establish it as their homestead. The armed bandits perpetrating most of these acts are Fulanis of non-Nigerian origins and most of these militants in the bushes are non-religious. The religious weapon is only being used by the Nigerian Fulani elite to brainwash and control non-Fulani northerners.

So don't conclude what I don't mean
Give same what? Is he the governor? do you know what he may have already told the governor? Is the governor bound to take his words?

Like I said before and would say again and again, if you hate the man, just say it. If you have another preferred candidate, dont be ashamed to call their names. But may it be know that your accusation that Obi isn't advising Soludo is just watery, empty and pointless.

Like I said before, if you dont like Mr Obi and if you dont intend voting him, you can simply just say so boldly. You don't need to run around churning out funny excuses like "Obi not advising Soludo" as the basis of your dislike for Obi. Besides, you don't even know if he indeed has lent a word or two to Soludo...

Is he a private individual? Someone who was once a governor of a state is same you're calling private. Funny indeed.

What I'm saying is if he has the solutions, let him offer same to Soludo and not wait until he's the president of the country.

I forgot most individuals have turned against Soludo already for the steps taken already.
What authority does an ex governor exactly have over the security apparatus of a state? Please educate us so we may know because there must be something you know which we dont.

From my hazy knowledge of the Nigerian situation, even a sitting governor is borderline powerless and has almost no say on how the security structure in his state is run; that's even the reason Mr Obi today has voiced his support in favour of the argument on state policing.. But somehow, even when a sitting governor lacks the powers, you expect an ex-governor who currently holds no public office to have some influence?

Last time I checked, Obi and Soludo dont belong to the same party, they arent friends and dont even seem to be in good terms. But somehow, your judgement of Peter Obi is predicated on his inability to literally 'take over the government of Soludo' in regards to security?

If you dont like Mr Obi and if you dont intend voting him, you know you can simply just boldly say so instead of hiding behind the bizarre allegation that "he isnt advising Soludo".

I can't start repeating myself. Abeg follow up
Follow up on what exactly? You expect a private citizen to influence the security situation in a country where all actionable powers on security are vested on the hands of one man who's deaf to advice and literally now in coma?.... If that's the metric on which you want to judge the suitability of Obi (or even any other one of the principal candidates), then your logic is just flawed (similar judging a fish on its inability to climb a tree).

Goke7:
I disagree on this. I too wanted osinbajo. The truth is any Yoruba candidate would still have it rough, Imagine if it was fashola. Non yorubas especially our se brothers are always scared of perceived very strong Yoruba politicians. Even when osinbajo was picked as running mate to buhari, don't you see how folks rose against him? Despite the popularity of Obi and the loss of osun why are they still not confident of beating Tinubu, the attacks keep increasing and will continue.

But when campaign officially starts according to INEC, we will see a different trajectory in the trends of popularity of the candidates
Lol... you clearly dont understand Igbos. There's a large number of educated Igbos (including myself) who would have supported PYO had he won the primaries; a lot of people in this group wouldn't have been keen on supporting Obi given his lower winning chances.

It's only the hardcore unenlightened Ipob stock that would rather die than vote PYO, simply because of his tribe; and despite whatever noise you see or hear online, this group doesn't represent the majority at all.

Peter Obi is currently getting the momentum he's getting today cos APC and PDP goofed bigtime. A lot of people (including myself) would rather 'waste' their votes on Obi cos of the candidates fronted by APC and PDP.
PoliticsRe: Just Imagine That Osinbajo Was APC Presidential Candidate by obailala(m): 11:38pm On Jul 19, 2022
Godfullsam:
Are you new in this country? Even if APC presents Osinbajo the igbos will still not vote for him.

It is not just about tinubu, it is about the yoruba race. The igbos hate yoruba with perfect hatred. This is what we all know..

Dont allow anyone here or anywhere to fool you, an average Igbo thinks they are smarter than anyone.

They same Osinbajo they called mere commissioner, aso rock errand boy, traders money distributor etc.

If the VP were the APC presidential flag bearer, you will still accuse him of doing nothing when Christians were brutally murdered under his watch as the vice president and so so..

The igbos are irredeemably hate-filled set of people. Their jealous is equal to none.

I don't like Tinubu, but I am afraid the old man may win the next election. When igbos hate you, it means you are on your way to victory.

Ask Jonathan in 2015

Ask Atiku in 2019
The bolded part of your message is definitely not true; you clearly dont understand Igbos. The only Igbos who would support an Atiku over a PYO are the hardcore IPObians who suffer from serious sense deficiency; this group clearly doesnt make represent the majority of Igbos.

If APC had chosen Osinbajo, it would have been a disaster for the Obidient movement we see today. Half the current day Obidients from the SS, SW, middle belt and even the SE would have supported a PYO (who would be seen as someone with a better chance at winning); a further large number of current day Obidients would have just been on the fence.

The only reason Obi is gaining such global popularity today, despite his obscure party and lack of structure, is because of the nature of the other 2 main contestants.
PoliticsRe: Just Imagine That Osinbajo Was APC Presidential Candidate by obailala(m): 11:31pm On Jul 19, 2022
If APC picked Osinbajo as it's candidate, it would have been an easy win for ApC.

With the exception of hardcore Ipobians who would rather die than vote a Yoruba candidate, a large number of present day 'Obidients' from the SE, SS, SW and middle belt, would have gladly supported PYO as he would be perceived to have a better chance at winning than Obi. A further sizeable number of 'Obidients' (e.g. myself) would have been left with no choice than sitting on the fence in 2023).

APC picking Tinubu and PDP picking a northerner is the reason Obi is gaining global popularity today.

This story is really inaccurate.

Neither of these two guys were accused of stealing or fraud, but rather not stopping fraudsters? But why has the same system not sent the CEO of Western Union and Moneygram to jail?

Why jail them? Why not fines? Do bank owners or managers get jailed because fraudsters keep money in their banks?.why havnt the managers of Western Union and Moneygram being jailed since all these years?

The story is 100% wrong. Neither of these two men stole any money. I know many grateful Nigerians who used Ping Express to support their loved ones in Nigeria to the anger of the Big 2 ( Western Union and Moneygram). How can you jail a bank MD because fraudsters have accounts with the bank? Something is seriously wrong here. Why have the MDs of Western Union and Moneygram not been jailed for all the billions fraudsters have sent through their companies? Oh I forgot those are not immigrant owned businesses. Worst case they will be given a fine. Or maybe it's because they are "small boys"

All the people who used Ping Express never gave a dime in cash to the company, they sent the money using their bank debit cards. So why have the managers of the banks from where the money came from not being charged?

People will think this is $167 million cash somewhere. No $167 million anywhere. That's the total of funds they legitimately sent on behalf of people.

$50, $100, $200 here and there from 30,000 customers over 5 years. I myself sometimes sent $15 and sometimes $300 or more.

The allegations is on the $1 million + sent by a Fraudster, Collins over a 3 year period. If Ping Express had not verified their customers properly; how would they have been able to track the Collins guy? But Ping did proper verification for all customers.

But the banks where the monies came from to Ping Express are not being questioned.
This is a company I used for years and people came to know.

They followed every rule.

I know the stress I went through to get verified before using their services; license, phone call etc, things I never had to do with Western Union.

They are not accused of fraud, but rather not stopping fraudsters. Then why jail time? To kill their business finally?

When will the CEO of Moneygram and Western Union that Yahoo Boys have been using for over 20 years to send money, be arrested and jailed? NEVER.

Western Union and Moneygram have lost probably billions in the last few Years with the arrival of companies like Ping Express that made sending money to Africa not only faster, but cheaper, direct to bank accounts and 24/7.

Western Union that used to be only available during banking hours. They changed quickly when Ping Express and the new guys positively disrupted the system.

This is really unfortunate.
From what I read, the only reason they were charged was for failing to strictly adhere to some financial regulations. In some instances they were said to not report transactions over a certain amount within the stipulated time, and in other cases, they were accussed of operating in states where they weren't licensed.
