ShowYourCertificate: Is Mathematics A Compulsory Requirement To Be Commissioned Into The Military? I ask this question because Buhari's result have been released to the public and in the result he had an F9 in Mathematics. Military Officers are meant to be knowledgeable in quantification of military hardwares and other items. For example, a colonel should know the difference between 4 armoured tanks and 1 fighter jet in terms of weight difference, volume difference, etc. The knowledge of such difference will enable the colonel plan the logistics in the transport of such hardwares from one point to another. Also mathematical terms such a Bearing, Longitude and Lattitude, Projectiles, Trigonometry, Calculus, Matrices, Lagrange Multiplier, Statistics, etc. are common terminologies used in the military. Someone with an F9 in mathematics will definitely not be able to use such mathematical terminologies with dexterity during military warfare. So I wonder why someone with an F9 in mathematics should be commissioned into the Military. Perhaps that isn't Buhari's Result after all. I say this because that result appears to be fake and Buhari hasn't made any statement accepting the result as published by the Principal of his almamater. I hereby call on Buhari to either accept or reject the result as published. If he rejects it, he should do us a favour and show us his certificate (#BuhariShowYourCertificate). But If he accepts it, it means our Military actually enlisted Buhari despite failing Mathematics. If they did, was it the right thing to do? Lets discuss
When would these GEJites just rest on this certificate issue and focus their energy on winning the elections?
If a pass in Mathematics was compulsory in 1961, I'm sure Buhari wouldn't have been commissioned. I do not know if it's compulsory now but if it's not, then you can channel your grievances to the Nigerian Military Authorities to make it compulsory now. I do not however see how this change would affect Buhari who is already retired.
As for the authenticity of the result, if you doubt it, you are free to go to court. If you are expecting Buhari who is extremely busy strategising on how to win over power from the Abuja charlattans to start granting you audience on this closed issue, then you must be a tall dreamer on a very long thing.
Is this now suppose to be another campaign strategy?
The emergence of APC and the strength which APC has 'surprisingly' shown in this election has really set confusion in the camp of the clueless one. VEry soon they would accuse Buhari of having only one wife.
texazzpete: From Reno Omokri's 'The broom or the vacuum cleaner' https://www.nairaland.com/2119726/broom-vacuum-cleaner I don't understand, is the FG actually BOASTING of letting crooks who have been stealing $2bn ANNUALLY to go free? Is this what Reno Omokri is saying, that criminal prosecution of the corrupt is actually a bad thing? Is the Government not able to multi-task...close loopholes while bringing those crooks to justice?
Why should anyone be surprised at this?... You don't expect Mr Omokri to go against the deeply enshrined, albeit warped ideology of his boss, do you?
PhockPhockMan: Taking panadol for another man's headache. Op, give it up. Igbos will never allow to be used as political tool again.
NO TO BUHARI.
In this administration, due to our collective admiration and unparalleled support for the amiable Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, we Igbos are not being used as political tools anymore, instead we are being used as political slaves and doormats. Unlike the slavery we endured under all other Nigerians administrations in the past, we seem to be taking the exploitation of the present government with a huge smile on our faces.
I cant point out a single federal road which has been fixed by the present administration in the SE. The most disheartening aspect is that Igbos actually go around and deceive fellow Igbos that GEJ has fixed several roads and even constructed a 2nd Niger Bridge. If I ask you to mention one road fixed by GEJ you will quickly mention the onitsha-owerri road which was completed to 95% before GEJ's reign. How sad!
godunia: if d above is what u referred to as been cheaper than generator,my brother which country u come from?
Yess this is far far cheaper than a generator. Look on the long term not short term and also consider cost per benefit.
Solar systems come without a running cost and almost maintenance free. Once you've paid for it and installed, that is the end. No NEPA bills, no generator fuel bills, no generator servicing and repair bills, etc. In addition, you will be delivered from the noise and deadly fumes from generators. You will also not have to go outside to turn-on or turn off your gen.
Now for a direct comparison of the cost, try and calculate how much you spend per month on fuel, servicing and repairs of your gen. Also bare in mind that you run your generator for only a few hours, maximum 5-6hrs per day. So whatever cost you calculate, extrapolate that to 24hrs running on gen. You will be shocked at how much it cost you to run a gen in a period of say, 2 years.
FreeGlobe: It has come to my notice that APC may be manipulating "likes" on nairaland to favor its agents posts on nairaland. APC has a history of perpetrating internet fraud. First was the hacking of nairaland after their candidate lost the Ekiti poll. Then the cloning of PVCs, the use of spam accounts to over bloat Buharis followers on Twitter and now the programming of bots to manipulate the AIT online poll to favor its candidate Buhari. I urge non partisan nairalanders not to be swayed by the number of likes on posts by APC agents. The "likes" have been programmed. I wonder why APC is so interested in online campaign when a larger population of Nigerians are not online. Why does APC keep chasing shadows?
Is PDP really sinking this fast into oblivion?... Every thread on Nairaland is all about pdp clinging to straws and accusing apc of one thing or the other.
AlfaSeltzer: Stop. First GEJ didn't receive any hit from that ip address. Second, your mumbo jumbo about opera is just pure nonsense. ip describes a particular computer or modem while a web browser is just a software to browse the web. There is no conspiracy is a particular ip is using a particular web browser.
Go take a second look at those pictures and then read what you wrote again.
If AIT is honest, they should release the full list of IPs that voted and not just a snapshot of a few APC votes.
LoveDecay: So, how did you come about this record. Like i said the IP 82.145.221.163 belong to Opera mini browser. AIT should have the insight, from their site statistics. They should have known most Nigerians use the mobile phone to search and share information on the web, and in Nigeria Opera mini is quite popular.
This info is not privileged info everyone knows this. And, they should have expected this to happen. Which is why they could have used cookies, facebook , google, OPENID or twitter for authentication/permission before voting.
How do you expect AIT to know something this simple when all they do is employ empty brained Jonathanians as their IT administrators?
This is a perfect representation of the kind of characters GEJ surrounds himself with. Little wonder the country is in shambles. However I must commend him for assembling and iddiotic but effective propaganda team who have succeeded greatly in deceiving a majority of Nigerians.
Heffalump: It is very sad that some Haters don't see anything good about this Govt. Truly when the eyes are blind, you don't see the light where it shines. Let me give u a single KPI, out of many to show the effort of this Govt: the euro and other major currencies have fallen freely compared to d US dollar, While naira though has fallen but it's weathering the storm. Look at the textile industry and Agriculture, our export index has increased significantly over the last 3 yrs. Please be objective, else you persimists will only move from fry pan to fire.
I am sorry but for how much longer can i continue to be an optimist?... for how much longer would I sit back and do nothing and expect a different result?... It might interest you to know that majority of the vocal opponents of Jonathan today even here on nairaland were people who massively promoted his candidacy in 2010. You should ask yourself why these people suddenly turned their backs on GEJ. It is simply because a huge scale fell off our eyes and we now see the grand deceit and failure which GEJ represents. We also appreciate the dangers of letting the current trend continue unabated for another 4 yrs.
You claim the textile industry, agriculture etc have been revived but the message i have for you is that I also believed that lie just like you until the scales fell off my eyes recently. I only agree with you on an improvement in agriculture. Every other advertised achievement is either an outright scam or an insignificant accomplishment is magnified out of proportion by the propaganda machinery and of course, many are deceived and are still being deceived as we speak
ToroJah: Greetings to y'all family section members and a special thanks to all my followers cos I know you did follow me so you'll be updated with my sad story. Now here it is.
I'm from a broken home, my dad left us when I was a yr old. From what I gathered things got tough and he couldn't man up to face the hard times so he abandoned us to God knows where due to pride cos have found out he's a very proud man.
My mum that he forced to become a full time housewife decided to pick take up teaching job to cater to our needs, my mum was very mean during our growing up days(don't know if it was due to anger from my dad abandoning us for her), now my dad is back claiming he's sorry for leaving us but from the look of things he's in dire need of help (him and his other family are living in poverty) so I personally I'm paying deaf ear to his cries.
Now my predicament is this. Since after graduation have had two serious affairs that should have led to marriage I was even engaged in one but the men I meet and mostly their families often frown at a girl from a separated home irrespective of her good character reason being that she'll always toe the path of her parent and this has made me hate the family I was born into, sometimes I feel like taking my own life.
So dear Family have made up my mind to deny my dad cos he's the one that put me in this mess I will tell the next man in my life that he's dead cos to me he's good as dead, his presence in my life is causing me tears daily.
To y'all please all I need is an advice!!! To those that do jump on post before putting your leg in one's shoe feel free to bash me.
Lastly, advice to those searching, study your partner before saying "I do" don't depend on arranged marriage cos my parent own was a product of such that's why it was difficult for them to accommodate and understand each others flaws thereby leading to my dad abandoning us.
Love is not always enough so marry your friend so you too can still be together even when hard times set in.
Thanks in anticipation for reading!
It wouldnt cost you so much to forgive your father. After all, forgiving him doesnt necessarily mean you have to go and live under his roof as you are already grown up.
Just try and forgive your father and see how your life would be automatically transformed.
tonytony208: what is even the problem with you apc members? If ait airs a program, you will call it bias. If nta airs, you will call it bias. I heard that BON organized a public debate the other day, but apc failed to show up. If anything is against apc, then it must be biased. What kind of confused and knotted mentality is this for crying out loud?!
I do not need a soothsayer to tell me NTA is owned and fully controlled by the PDP for their personal propaganda. There is a reason why no reasonable persons seeks information from NTA. With regards to AIT, you dont also need a soothsayer to tell you that the chairman being a staunch PDP top shot, AIT is presently being used to forward the cause of PDP; even a 5 year old could sniff that out from miles away by just watching the recent documentary on Buhari.
scotz101: who's this mumu abeg? Twitter has been there since 2006.. Was it not the invention of cheap smart phones that led to everyone accessing twitter on phone..inshort go and start day care all over again.....and lest i forget
GEJ till a goat gives birth to a ram
You must be a learner. Havent you heard of human's giving birth to monkeys in certain localities in Nigeria?
The annoying thing about this ugly development is that when some GEJites want to list his achievements, they also include "IMPROVED POWER SUPPLY ACROSS THE COUNTRY" and I would be like, what!.. Are these people even okay in the head?
smsdigito: And me that am talking who told you am GEJ's brother or am enemy of Soludo? Let me tell you why, some times the pedigree of the messenger affects the quality of the message or the integrity of the message passed. Let me give an instance, assuming somebody like shekau (the Boko Haram leader) brings you a message one day that he has changed his mind about violence in Nigeria and has repented of his sins so civilians should enter sambisa forest to go and recover the chibok girls and other kidnapped citizens by themselves and promises that they wont be hurt, will you welcome it? If you wont welcome it, what are your reasons?
Look, what you fail to understand in this country is that very few people come out to say their mind on such issues without being bias. Why is it that some people working with any govt in this country never see anything wrong about what the govt is doing, yet those who are not with the govt always dont see anything good about what the govt is doing? ask yourself this question. If you read through soludos's memo, you will discover he never saw even one thing good about what this admin has done. Is that possible? these are simple indices that he is bias in his criticism. He lost elections in PDP twice and he was aggrieved that GEJ didnt support him and quickly he switched camp to atiku, and lost along with atiku. He is still disgruntled, who doesnt know that? read through okojo-iweala's response and stop pretending you dont know about all govt is doing to develop the economy and the country as a whole.
Only not-too-smart people will ignore a message which they can verify with a click of a button, simply because they dont trust the messenger. To give you a more appropriate analogy to the one you gave, assuming you are in a restaurant and a renown armed robber walks in and tells you some street boys are attempting to break into your car which you parked outside, what would you do?... Would you totally ignore the message because you know the messenger is a thief?... Would you throw the baby away with the bath water simply because 'you dont think' it is clean?
Does it cost you anything but a click away to verify?
Curlieweed: So, it doesn't bother you that Charles Soludo used 2011 stats to judge GEJ in 2015? This is the reason why I avoid engaging you guys seriously. I just mock and laugh.
Are you insinuating that every single analysis made by Soludo, i.e. 100% of it is wrong?
smsdigito: abeg shut up, if soludo didnt jump from nowhere to display ignorance forgetting his incompetence he demonstrated which almost sank our banks and the economy by spewing loads of dust, the govt wouldnt have remembered him even after inheriting all the troubles and mess from him which they have being cleaning up. What you are talking about is just to show your hatred for GEJ and any thing that has to do with him. Carry on, but there will be no gain in all such.
I think you should be the one to shut up, put your sentimental attachments to the side and reason objectively. GEJ is not your father and neither is he mine. Put politics aside and think of what would benefit yourself and your children in future.
Soludo raised pertinent concerns which bother on the celebration of absolute failure by the Nigerian FG in handling the economy. He exposed a grand deceit of the FG in which they sugar coat their report cards and then dubiously feed Nigerians (who obviously dont understand the complex jargon) with fake indices of economic growth when indeed there is none. He pointed out facts and figures which can easily be verified (by anyone) and he tried as much as possible to break the figures down to a level which can be interpreted by all.
I am not related to Soludo and neither am I related to GEJ. Therefore as a Nigerian, I am only concerned about where the argument affects my existence, my welfare and the future welfare of my children. I am not concerned about Soludo's motives for his write-up, neither am I concerned about Soludo's performance in the past while he was in office. I would never be found focusing my energy on the character of a messenger when a grave message which affects me is concerned; I am way smarter than that.
organic973: It's about our nigerian government since the inception nigerian. It dealt very well the military and civilian government. One funny thing is that the program is a replay of 26th may 2014.
I wish those that are supporting GMB would have watched it instead of making noise online with blindfolded ideas.
You see this is the exact problem with Nigerians... How can a person base his political judgement on a program created and aired by NTA and you expect this to be unbiased?...
This is simply the reason why too many Nigerians are misinformed.
Curlieweed: You clearly didn't read Paul Nwabuikwu's detailed rebuttal of Soludo's unfortunate hubris induced diatribe.
However, you usually see more dramatic increases in percentage GDP when you're starting from a lower base than when you have a higher base.
If you have a GDP of $100 Billion and it increases to $110 Billion, that will be a 10% growth because of the lower base. On the other hand, with a GDP of $500 Billion, you will need to add $50 Billion to achieve the same 10% growth. That's the reason why GEJ's achievement in keeping growth within the 6% rate throughout his tenure is a big deal.
nwafuluozoh: Don't get me wrong. Positive Criticism should be well timed and backed up with solutions. Attacking the FG's policies NOW while undermining its achievements smirks of the antics of a bitter person working with/for the opposition. Note: Not every criticism/advice should be made public.
There is only a limit to the lies someone can take while remaining silent; especially someone who is very knowledgeable and adept at interpreting economic indices. Just like Soludo mentioned, the first step to solving a problem is accepting that there is a problem and this is something the present government isn't doing. Instead, Nigeria for long has been awash with beautiful messages of economic prosperity, albeit on paper. How much longer do you want people like Soludo to fold their arms and keep quiet for, while they watch the already brainwashed Nigerians go out there and vote for a continuation of their doom which is disguised as prosperity?
Whatever the motive is behind Soludo's outburst is is not my problem or business at this time. I as a Nigerian am more concerned about the deceit which was exposed by Soludo. The figures raised are what affects me and not the personality of the man or his motives. I expect any defence by the government to be based on the figures raised and not based on Soludo's motives or past performance.
Isn't it funny how the focus is now on Soludo and no longer Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. I remember vividly when SLS was 'running his mouth' and enlightening Nigerians on the fraud going on in high places. Jonathan and the Jonathanians castigated SLS, called him all sorts of names, pronounced him the worst CBN governor ever who destroyed our banks (built and consolidated by the fine economist, Soludo) and they even proceeded to end his banking career. We all know the end result, SLS was finally exalted to his dream retirement job as the Emir.
Fast forward the clocks by 12 months, Prof Soludo has decided to break his silence on the sham going on in high places and the tables have suddenly turned around. The much praised and celebrated Prof Soludo is now the worst CBN governor who destroyed our banks until God sent SLS to come and rescue the nation.
I dey laugh (in OBJ's voice)!
If by any means Jonathan rules Nigeria till 2019, the Jonathanians would have succeeded in rubbishing every single person left in this world except of course, themselves. Who knows, Jonathan himself may even wake up one day and tell Nigerians that his wife is responsible for our woes; it always has to be others
nwafuluozoh: Soludo is just a bitter man. He's yet to get over his inability to be the Governor of Anambra state. So he pitched his tent with the Aggressive Peoples' Coven.
If by any means, Jonathan rules till 2019, I'm sure every Nigerian and foreigner who speaks would be 'just bitter people'
I am still waiting for someone from the FG or PDP to properly respond to the figures raised by Prof Soludo. The fact is that Soludo's write-up delivered a huge politically destabilising blow to the GEJites by exposing sacrosanct figures which have always been hidden from the masses.
When you can't deal with the truth, you simply attack the messenger. Why cant they dispute the figures raised by Soludo?
I remember not too long ago, Jonathan's henchmen and irredeemable worshippers slaughtered Sanusi Lamido Sanusi for speaking up about the mismanagement of the economy. These same set of people claimed that Soludo was a refined CBN governor who knew his onions unlike SLS who was just a talkative dimwit. Now the story has changed.
If by any means Jonathan rules Nigeria till 2019, by that time the Jonathanians would have succeeded in rubbishing every single person left in this world except of course, themselves.
mrmetoo1: Lets be honest, Mr Aye Dee's delivery was better than Kayode's because of his "accent" and so on. In content however, Mr Aye Dee just spewed the same PDP talking points. When he was clearly losing he used the Pro-APC card, I'm sure he couldn't wait to use that. Kayode finished him when he said GEJ was steering the country in the right direction. Then generally I wasn't satisfied with the debate because I felt like some topics were not really discussed properly I guess because of time.
For this debate, GEJ guys are going to say AyeDee won, GMB guys will say Kayode so this debate didn't really achieve much in terms of swaying anyone's opinion.
Absolutely!.. Mr Ayedee only sounded good because of a nice accent, the content of his words were the same old fables we hear everyday from the GEJites. How can any right thinking person boast of Jonathan's handling of the economy?
