For the sake of aurgument let us agree that matter had always existed. However, the Big Bang Account is incomplete in that it fails to explain certain spiritual phenomenon which exists today whereas the Biblical account does.

The issue with Big Bang is that while all what happened with the mass exploding sounds interesting, where did the mass originate from?. This is where the scientists struggle.

My view is that I don't subscribe to the idea of going out of my way to do team bonding. I partake in only what I am interested in and it works for me. 

THERE MUST BE SOME REASONABLE GAP/DISTANCE BETWEEN PEOPLE in d workplace.

I think the original poster is already doing enough team bonding. they are not best friends in the office. everyone is there to add value - team bonding only enhancing d value adding goal.

tumufulu (not sure if thats d right spelling) also mentioned keeping conversations official. well, i partly agree with this because don't want to stereotype d whole oyinbos - here is the approach i take:

1.) You can intuitively weigh if a person is just making conversation with you because he has to (i.e. part of his job so he can't avoid it). typical signs include talking about weather and delayed trains time and time again all d time when on lunches/dinners. if so, then be official.
2.) If you intuitively think the person is nice and is actually talking with you on par (not `talking down' on you, respects that you are a skilled immigrant not an asylum seeker, friendly, etc) then by all means do not be official with such nice people. Many english people are nice. they r not all racists. 

as for accent, please as long as you are sure that ur english is fine - DO NOT CARE! Investment Banks have offices in japan, hong kong with many workers there having stronger accents than naija one. yet front-office traders still communicate across d globe effectively despite their ehavily accented japanese/hong kong colleagues.

To reply ur post, you need to look beyond the adamic and understand the plan of God. I dont want to rant so I will make it as points.

* Long before all creation was made, God was, is and shall ever be - He is sovereign and acts as he pleases. Your view in ur post shows an ignorance of the age before ours and the ages to come.
* There was and is still a spiritual dispensation(age) created which had been existing before man was made.
* Man is unique in that he is conscious of earth; he was formed of the dust of the ground. he was conscious of d spiritual realm before d fall but it is illegal to use his spirit body now except though demonic agents - these r d astral projectors, "people were de fly for night" - do so with spiritual body, etc

This is a preamble. Now on to your grieviances.

* It is a question of sovereignity. "Dust are ye and to dust ye shall return". you are dust and you cant do anything about it. You cannot by vexing turn your composition to metal. God has made you dust. Say a human being A dies, human being A will return to dust and the spirit will return to God who gave it. God CHOSE to make man dust. He chose to make spirits spirits - he chose to make two kingdoms light and darkness.
* God said to all 'in Adam' - you will have pain in child birth(woman) and man will toil all the days of his life for his food - this is the case today. Vex and dont go to work and you will starve - its not by vexing - it is by recognising sovereignity.
* I dont like Satan and demons, but they sure exist - my prayer requests has been for God to destroy Satan so there will be peace NOW. But He doesnt answer - why? Its called sovereign will.
* The Bible teaches predestination and divine election (but we shall not go into this). It is God who removes a man from 'in adam' and puts him 'in christ'. 1 cor 1:30 - "Of Him are ye in Christ".
* Regarding the killings in the old testament, you must realise that (and this is not popular teaching), that God is a God of War. Today there is war both in heaven between kingdoms and on earth between nations. People were killed in ther old testament but we are speaking of the death of the physical body. There is a physical body and there is a spiritual body. Adam was a shadow of things to come. If people are killed in the old testament by moses etc, the God that created them can do whatever he likes with them. God is not wicked! There is an age to come that the living beings in it are not made of dust. man is tripartite - you are speaking of the body - you are ignorant that you have a spirit. You do! Whether you believe it or not. Physical death must come to all men. A spirituyal body exists after this death.
* So God can kill, save, love, dislike etc as he pleases. Satan rebelled and God foreknew this. You mention apple eating by eve as so insignificant, yes in the eyes of men. God also foreknew the rebellion of eve and adam. The crucifixion of Christ was also in the foreknowledge of the Trinity. I am going to shock you, the Bible says "Apart from the shedding of Blood there is no remission". You may say, that sounds cruel - but can the owner of the Blood not do what he wants with it. Had the Trinity decided - "Apart from waving your hand 200 times, there can be no remission"- what can you do?
* " If someone hits you, invite them to do it again. (Matthew 5:39)
If you lose a lawsuit, give more than the judgment. (Matthew 5:40)
If someone forces you to walk a mile, walk two miles. (Matthew 5:41) "
The Bible speaks of self denial. Self denial is that a Christian must deny his natural life and live by the ressurection life he received at salvation. What these verses mean is that if someone hits you, your natural self will even want to kill the person. But if you refuse to act despite being hit, you will realise that you will not be angry because it is no longer you that acted (for you would have been angry); but rather it is Christ who has acted for you (Gal 2:20) for you received him at salvation to be your life. It is an illustration of ressurection life.

About Elijah and the children, again it is the physical body that died. 1 cor 15:44. Huxley, I have news for you. Of all people that have died in the world since Adam, it is the body of dust that has died and God has sovereignity to cause to die and to cause to live.

Thanks for ur reply and that you are quite rational and have not resorted to insults or anything like that. It actully depends on what you mean by 'religion'.

You see i once used to reason along these lines: "Can God not send the money from heaven without people giving", "Why must God let africa to suffer look at the disparity between west and africa", "Why did God create Satan and why cant he just destroy him so that everything will be good?" God has the answers in the Bible. and I can give u the answers if you want.

You reserve the right to call Benny Hinn a charlatan as you see fit. But just seek this God for your self. It is a special thing to know Him for yourself not just because Bleep or yyy has said so.

I perfectly understand also the issue with money - no man is exempt from mismanagement of money - many calls for money appear like gimmicks no doubt - but look at the scale of the Ministry - could it have originated from man - since God might have detected that he is fake - why cant He stop Him - this shows that it is not a business venture in this case; this however does not annul the position we have in many places where people ARE EXPLOITED - i can defend benny hinn and a few and not just anybody.

The same goes for Benson Idahosa if He was still alife or any other apostle! This is because you're opposing the work of God. Go and repent before God. Why? Because all true Ministry originate from God. Benny Hinn is Gods chosen vessel and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. In the days of benson idahosa he was God's chosen vessel and there is nothing you can do about it. in the early 19s, Watchman Nee arose from China called of God and by God and there is nothing you can do about it. Benny Hinn is a called apostle - He did not call himself. Benson Idahosa was born and put in a bin - but He preached the Gospel to the whole world - and so is every called apostle.

I completely understand your quite rational and want people to be rational especially with giving money - and i understand u abhor emotional manipulation; but you must understand that when people give money, they are not giving unto man but unto God - and this is the God they themselves know - for Christianity is a revealed 'religion'. Giving money to a God you do not know is called religion, but giving to a God whom you have seen and known is Christianity.

And this is the difference with every true and called apostle - for the message of the Gospel is delivered IN THE POWER OF RESURRECTION so that the believing one does not receive religious and mental knowledge but life! the salvation of the spirit - I repeat GO AND REPENT!

I would like to call the attention of everyone to an incident that has just happened in my Company that has scared me to my bones. I need advise as I have been considering exit from UK for a while now anyway (but THIS INCIDENT IS NOT THE MAIN REASON - just a reinforcer - the main reasons are just personal preference, etc). I am working in UK - just a few months old in my company. when I joined, I had an Indian coworker. I worked in his team and as far as I know he was quite hard working. However, due to certain problems he had to leave the Company and left not too long ago. Before he left, the Deputy Head of Department (caucasoid british) would smile at Him (i.e. the indian dude), say things like "good good", or "excellent work!" and generally 'pretend' (at least from my observations) to be cool with the poor dude. Any person would think the Deputy Head of Department thought the dude was excellent and had excellent relations. I am the lowest staff in my group in terms of hierarchy. Anyways, onward. So I had the first meeting with this Deputy Head after the Indian dude left (whom I was working in his team); however, the meeting was full of negative statements about the guy who had left. He said "he wasnt the the best of workers", "He wasnt very organized",  "he didnt achieve much in 2 years and you are producing results in 3 months", "he was lazy at times" what rationale is behind airing them to me? since I am a junior staff? is it a ploy to make me work harder or what? I will be taking over the work the indian dude left.


Also when i joined, i used to type email subjects in all capitals. the Deputy once asked me casually, "Why do you like to type email subjects in all capitals, that it makes them stand out?", I said "To give them more emphasis" - and he replied: "yes it does give them more emphasis"  in a normal and happy tone. Few weeks later, I had a meeting with my manager and he told that I should now be typing emails with small text as some people perceive it as shouting - why didnt the deputy dude have d nerve to say so since he is higher than my line manager in the company?

My main fear is that my gut tells me the guy IS doing the same thing to me in the firm - it has become politics lol. he will tell me "Great work &"my name"!", "Excellent work!" and go and tell the Head of Department that this dude is utter crap and not fit for purpose while the reverse might actually be the case.

Anyway, I have come to the conclusion that these british people are just too fake. The behaviour of the deputy is too dangerous - I have come to see that all friendliness whether in the work place or elsewhere (from personal observations) towards foreigners is fake and lacks any genuiness - any praises is kind of fake and this deputy would judge you off the fly.

I had been considering leaving britain bak to my home country or to the americas anyway - is oz and canada as anti-immigration (this is a personal view) as UK i.e. almost daily media reinforcement of anti-immigration in peoples minds?

For people who graduated in UK but really want to come to Nigeria to settle in Lagos or Abuja. The problem however is that the person is looking for a company that will pay in USD or GBP. To cut the long story short, I am looking at any Company that will pay minimum of USD32,000 after tax which is the equivalent offshore earning. I have 1 year UK work experience with a global firm.

There is a Careers in Africa conference being held in UK every year - www.globalcareerscompany.com with major Companies in Nigeria attending including GTBank, Fidelity, etc. My second question is will these Companies pay in foreign currency equivalents or local amounts. One would expect KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, etc to pay USD or GBP equivalents - is this the case? because if they are looking to recruit from abroad, then they must match the pay of what people already earn in UK.

does anyone in UK, US or Canada have an account with Lead Capital? they should get my application package by courier on monday. I was really uncomfortable when after opening an account with a previous broker - they just emailed my an account number and cscs number. upon requesting a physical letter posted to me or official letter scanned to me stating that account has been opened and and in my name to make it official, they declined and say they just send emails - since i have no way of verifying the validity of the account and cscs nos they are giving me - i just told them to close the account. so apart from cscs online monitoring there is no other way to verify the numbers brokers give

Anyway hope Lead Capital will issue an official account opening letter; also please who is the most responsive relationship officer there

eventually got the forms for Vetiva. Its like these days, they first ask you for your ID eg passport, letter of introduction from employer and utility bill before they forward you the forms - but I must say they are quite professional and I am quite impressed!
