from the first time i saw it, i didnt really like it. it was heavy on graphics but poor in perfromance. many things that were intuitive to perform in xp now require one or two additional steps. the operating system is unstable and heavy on system resources. the MS office that comes with it is also crap. why didnt Microsoft think before releasing this product. and its forced down people's throats through coming pre-installed in most systems. AVOID VISTA, EMBRACE XP OR LINUX! this is microsoft innovation gone mad. |
under no circumstance. |
gibberish! |
Nigerians must learn to solve their own problems. |
Tell me what you studied for Msc and at what University and I can advise you on a little known visa option. above that, re-apply for UK Post Study Work addressing the reason they gave and also including a strongly worded letter that you have consistently addressed their refusal grounds and look forward to receiving the visa. then above all pray to your God. |
that amount is good. just also expand into other investments that give you additional investment income once you get your self settled. Best of luck! |
@mazaje You are possessed. U need help. Go get it now from the church nearest to you. |
I have a question. If I post say a laptop x5 or motherboard x5 via DHL or UPS to a house in Nigeria and label it gift, will customs check it, will there any taxes or charges of any sort or will they deliver without any qualms (from US & UK)? |
Fashola is a pride to Nigeria. He has proven that a lot can be achieved in a short while and that you dont need many 10 year projects or 20 year long projects which historically amount to nothing. People should try and see the positive side of things and not just look at the negatives only. It is always better to try and fail than not to try at all; and it is better to take these small but sure steps is instead of just sitting and doing nothing or earmarking billions to stadiums. The whole Lagos may not be covered in his tenure; even if its just a small area - its something. |
please could people with insight in this business please educate naive new comers like myself. |
posts are making a lot of sense. the key thing is knowing what you really want which is hard to arrive at for many people. my approach is to look for jobs in different places at the same time whilst praying. I am looking for jobs riht now in UK (fixed term contract only due to higher rates), Australia (fixed term contracts), Nigeria (permanent) and Canada (permanent). I don't know which will work, this is where prayer comes in. With "diversification", you beat the crunch! |
microsoft must be smiling; i remember when microsoft officials visit there routinely and pirated software sellers flee. are you sure they did not have a hand in this fashola move? |
Would you buy a netbook over a conventional laptop; if so why especially given that many if not all (not sure) don't have CD or DVD drives? Have you tried out any netbook - worth it in your opinion? |
Hello, I am new to web development and decided to try out setting up my laptop as a partial development server. The objective was to install Apache, PHP and mySQL and get them all linked together and working together to create a website. I successesfully installed Apache, and mySQL. I also downloaded and extracted a zip version of php and placed strategic dlls where they should be (following directions from a textbook). Then I added some lines to Apache conf file including php file types. However, when I try view a page with php + html via a browser, it doesnt pick up the html file nor execute the php sections of it. I have followed the instructions in book to the letter but still not working. Anyone experienced something similar and do you have any suggestions on how to configure Apache to work with php. |
how much do banks pay IT professionals for entry level, mid-level and senior level (over 10 yrs experience). |
thank you GL for that wonderful explaination to the aheists. |
@kuns The problem with most believers is trying to overstand biblical concept without science. To have a good overstand you will need to bring science and spirituality together, then things will make more sence. I don't think this is a problem. Sometimes, a believer will have a portion of the Bible that has been specially given to him as revelation by God; this is his "proof" of that matter or that particular reality. This cannot be understood, rationalised, presented in journals or conferences - this can only be known. And when we are talking about spiritual, I am not talking about the lying religion of christianity, we all should know they made their religion all up. says who? |
@kuns I appreciate your enthusiasm. This Christian God reveals Himself to those who ask and not to those who expound theorems, analysis and intellectual discourse. Second you are using scientific methods/facts to try and explain spiritual methods/facts. This approach is flawed in that spiritual matters and beings are not matter and hence most of your arguments are flawed. Thirdly, you fail to see that the Bible and its verses are revealed not mentally digested. A scripture verse is first known before it is understood. Understanding is a function of the brain and mind. Knowing is a non-material, scientifically unfathomable function of the spirit of a man. so it doesnt seem as if I am being too abstract to confuse atheists, why does gravity not bring down astral travel practitioners? Or how do you scientifically explain witchcraft prevalent in nigeria today scientifically? these two cases should show you that a new study must use new and right methods. It is stated somewhere in the OT that Elijah was taken into heaven in a chariot of fire; this is a spiritual fact - but it doesnt make sense to the brain of a human being because it is not supposed to; you r a different being - except of course you turn into some wizard. ![]() And please spare me the slave mentality argument - the gift of new life is given to ALL who believe. ![]() |
@kuns No man speaking by the Spirit of God sayeth Jesus be accursed, likewise no man can say Jesus is God except by the Spirit of God. don't attack God like this. It is true that God does not judge us by what we say but please let us not dare Him. We are praying for you. Repent and believe on the Son of God that you may receive life and be saved. But lets focus on the thread. |
"He was unable to explain why God wanted to kill his best friend moses, he ducked and ran, he still was'nt able to explain the tower of bable, that question made him cringe. Infact he was reduced to you shall all go to hell while I alone will go to heaven. what a shame." Atheists cling to the same old reasonings even when they are null and void. Or do you want a new explaination? |
If you don't believe the Bible, please ignore. "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God" "It stood still but I could not discern its form thereof, a form stood before mine eyes, there was silence and then I heard a voice" Job 4:16 - this is Job describing when he SAW God. "Who do men say I the Son of Man am----- Blessed art thou Simon Barjonas, flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you but my Father in heaven" This shows knowing God is not by doctrine, eloquence, argument, theories, evolution etc. God indeed can show Himself; and you need no big preacher - the key word is purity of heart in asking - what are your real motives? - do you really want to know Him for who He is? Are you hungry to see Him? God can indeed come down and show Himself but only to the spirit of man and not to the physical senses. JUST ASK! Hope this helps the atheists. |
is anything wrong with this govt - each administration is the same!!! I have lost all hope (nearly). Nigeria is gradually degenerating to failed state status. when yardua cannot even assign ministers with common sense - what hope is there to have. in response to nkem akunyilis response to the appointment - public office is not a place for first time hands on training for your skills - only time tested people in that field should be appointed |
Here is my understanding: The believer is saved once and forever through the Blood of Jesus Christ. However, unfortunately, the Christian may still fall, sin, etc. This activity of washing feet is symbolic of the priestly function of the Lord in continuing to wash the believer in His own Blood (spiritually speaking) as he remains in this world. Jesus told him, "Whoever has bathed is entirely clean. He doesn't need to wash himself further, except for his feet. And you men are clean, though not all of you." John 13:10 Whoever has bathed is entirely clean - this means he who has had the washing of regeneration by the Holy spirit at the time of salvation is eternally clean before God. He doesn't need to wash himself further, except for his feet. - this means that you are only saved once - however your feet (symbolic of coming in contact with a sinful world) will continually need washing. this feet washing does not mean carrying a bowl of water & washing people feet - it is to be appropriated by faith by the believer. cheers. |
@ any further comments? |
theres a lot of demoniacs & evil activity in america too - not just nigeria. |
becos the atheist is not a threat. |
@shotster50 you are absolutely right and i completely agree. the point i was trying to make is that these publications these days, far from trying to help, have become a source of entertainment especially as it is channeled to people who cannot help. what business has a bank manager going to work in new york subway on a monday morning with an african crisis? Whilst the news should be reported (in fact thats great), the nitty gritty details or irrelevant details should not be there. details should be tartgetted to thegovt officials who can help. how does endless journlistic twists help other than creating entertainment? |
@shotster50 you are right but you might agree that sometimes these guys have this "holier than thou" tone to their reporting and an obvious putting out the african light to make theirs shine better. They report corruption, many UK & US politicians have been probed in recent weeks, now what is their business with our oil ![]() Shouldnt they ask if the 15 year high unemployment is a curse to the US first, get that settled before tackling a country over 8 hours away? Enough publicity is raised within the African Union; we will always contact them if we need them (and we have historically proven to need them often which is fair enough). im not trying to be egoistic or anything. |
Adam Brody:So ignore the God then. why not leave it to the christians and their God? Whether Christians lie or not its OUR God - so please leave us with our God since you cannot be convinced that God is merciful & kind. But I thank you for your indeed quite rational argument. Very soon, you will become Saint Adam Broody - this is our hope ![]() I see you becoming the pastor of a church. Paul was like you before he became saved. |
@ Adam You need to understand that God is God and has ultimate sovereignity. My comment on your topic is that God pre-decided that sacrifices are acceptable to him. God's love is as perfect as His wrath; God may indeed order people to be killed, but He has His reasons. However, He commands you not to kill because you are man and He is Go You need revelation because the Bible makes sense to only saints who have been saved through grace. These saints read these same passages with a different revealed understanding that the unbeliever cannot see. Example: "And the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt" - reading it with brain power you get literal meaning. However, while the literal meaning is still correct, the spritual meaning is that the Church of Jesus Christ came out living in sin. I hope you are genuinely asking these questions and no just trying to ridicule christianity. We hope you will become a saint soon . Hope this answers your questions. |
@ Adam again, in the old testament, Israel (who went to many wars) is the Church of Jesus Christ, oil is the anointing, Egypt is representative of sin, etc - these things are not learnt from books they are revealed by God Himself as you read. Blood is for atonement because God pre-decided that blood will be used for atonement and that the final atonement will be made by the Lord on the Cross. This is not a doctrinal position, it is an eternal fact i.e. if you believe it, its true, if you don't beleive it, its nonetheless true. Suppose you fell from a tree and got angry with force of gravity and now decided that force of gravity is not real; now jump down from a building and you will surely die! In the same way, suppose you decide that the Blood of Christ is not the atonement for the New Covenant in Christ, it still is! |
@ Adam I mentioned the Lord's history as a Man not for you to sympathise but to show you that His history cannot be believed by your own self (how can a whole Messiah be born in a manger? DOESNT MAKE SENSE!!!); but to those whom God decides it will make sense to, it will make sense - we pray for you that someday it will make sense . |
