same thing happened to me at ojota, i was in final year and i was going to my university then. i saw a total stranger come to hug me and shouted 'biggie long time, e don tay o', i was confused, my guys called me biggie truly because i loved notorious big, and i was big. i was racking my head where i got to know the dude and at a point he stopped holding me and just simply said 'later', i knew something might be up so i deeped my hand into my pocket and alas! my 3310 was gone as well as my N9,000 , i looked back and dude was still pretty close and an officer was between us, i told the officer 'arrest that man, he just stole my phone', the officer at first pretended he didn't hear me well and i repeated rather loudly again, the thief heard by now and was walking fast, the officer told me to lodge a complaint at their office, i was stupefied! this happened in 2003 and i hated police since then

after what Buhari has put us through, i suddenly lost my respect for this man

INGREDIENTS FOR MY NIGERIAN WHITE SOUP:
1kg Meat (preferably goat meat)

2 medium sized Smoked catfish
1 Stock fish pack (Optional)
2 little slices of boiled yam for thickening
A handful chopped uziza leaves
1 teaspoon uziza seeds (optional)
1 teaspoon ground freshPepper (Scotch bonnet)
1 small Onion to boil the meat
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon palm oil (Optional)
2 seasoning cubes
water, enough to cover the meat after boiling, you can always adjust by adding some more water if soup is getting too thick.



Boil the meat with salt, 1 seasoning cube and onion only, add pepper and stock fish after it begins to boil.

when meat is tender enough, add just a drop of palm oil or a teaspoon. Just enough to make it look beautiful, (If the stock fish is the dark type that cooks fast, remove from heat before adding palm oil, and return when the soup is almost ready) otherwise you leave it white after all, that's the name.

Let meat cook until it's almost tender.

Add more water to the quantity of soup you want to make, enough to cover the almost cooked meat. Check for salt and seasoning. Cover and leave to boil.

Add the pounded 1 or 2 slices of boiled yam if you are using yam to thicken. If cocoyam (ede), add the pounded boiled cocoyam and the (bone picked) smoked fish.

Cover and leave to boil while you stir frequently until you are Ok with the thickness. Do not forget to stir almost continuously, that way the pounded yam or cocoyam in the pot gently disintegrates and thickens the soup

Check for thickness and salt before adding the washed, chopped hot leaf (uziza). If you like the uziza aroma stronger, pound and add the seeds too to enhance that flavor.

Stir, cover the pot and let the uziza simmer into the soup.

Turn off the heat and serve with your pounded yam.

My brother, I did all the above: private surveyor, lands and survey, agent, lawyer, asked community peoples, and wrote a check... and I still had to pay twice. Very few people I know have bought private land without issues.

Maybe I would add: check the courts for any pending/ongoing cases involving the land. Our seller didn't say he was involved in a long legal tussle with another person, with plenty k-leg and ancient history. This was what happened to me and after 3 months of wasting money on police, security, lawyers: I eventually just settled because the guy (old man oh!) and his thugs will pursue my workers after we've already mixed cement, or break the building, or demolish wood stairs. I even got the broad end of a cutlass on my arm. It would have been cheaper just to budget 2x for the land. This is in my own area of Asaba



So here's a very serious question, how would you a realtor have foreseen all this and prevented this experience? I mean, your steps are sound in theory, but I still ended up paying twice...

you are talking about companies, what of if the land is for private person and you have interest?
if you encourage people to buy only from companies then how will ordinary honest people sell theirs?
here's my own guideline

1)get a surveyor in that area to confirm if the land is truly available and certify the real owner
2)let a survey be done an know if the land is line with government's development blueprint.
3)ensure you get one or 2 agents from that particular area involved, confirm from them about the land, owner, etc
4)dont ever pay cash, make a transfer in a private room of a bank, ensure the banker and the land owner are there korokoro.
5)after payment start with foundation asap, to avoid stories that touches. my 2 cents

Hello,

I made a terrible mistake and I need your advice on how to fix this mess. Please hide my identity and please don’t judge me. I already know I messed up but I just need help urgently.

I am married but my life is really getting boring. That is not an excuse but I belong to some group on Facebook just to keep myself busy when I have nothing else to do. I get a lot of attention from men,the type I have never gotten from my husband and for some reason,I am enjoying the attention. To me,its just harmless cos I don’t know these people and they only know me online.

But I fell a victim of one of my online friends. As a rule,I don’t give out my nos but we got very friendly and after chatting for weeks,I finally gave him my whatsapp no. He started asking me for my nudes. I found it very exciting and I didn’t want to but I just got carried away. Its funny how the one I am married to hardly looks at me yet a compete stranger excites me.I took a picture of myself and unfortunately,instead of sending it to him,I sent it mistakenly to my male colleague in the office. Before I could do anything,he had seen it.I apologized for the picture and I thought that was it.

But he called me into his office the next day and asked me to sleep with him or he will tell my husband about the picture I sent to him. I thought he was joking but its been three days now and he says,I have until the end of the week to agree or he will tell my husband. I have offered him 200k but he says he can only take 1M. I always knew this guy never liked me,I dont know why he is so wicked to me.

I have practiced many times how to tell my husband but my heart fails me every time I try. If only the picture didn’t have have a message on it with the guy’s name,I would have lied to my hubby that the picture was meant for him but ended in the wrong hands. When I told the whatsapp guy what happened,he said I should deny the picture is me. That I should call my colleague’s bluff. I am scared,do you think that will work.
