With some of the comments I see on this thread, Nigeria is not going forward in the next 1000 years. Why are we defending the lecturer. Why can't we stand up for what is right. We all attended universities in Nigeria and know how high handed and useless majority of the half baked lecturers are.

Bros we are not talking of PDP/APC. Students abroad are suffering and dropping out of school because of PMB policies. Those with politicians fathers are living large. It is only those with civil servant fathers or on Government scholarships that are facing the hardship. Let me tell you this some of us careless the religion, tribes or what ever of the president. We demand for policies that has human face.

We can only get better learning from abroad. The Nigerian system made it difficult to nuture potential. We are appealing to PMB to look into how Nigerian banks are making it difficult for those abroad to use their debit card for basic need.

I've said it, some of you guys don't mind wallowing in ignorance. You can still do transfer through your bank, no one has stopped school fees remittance. If you check forex transactions from cbn and banks school fees makes up a bulk of them. The foreign affairs minister still came and clarified that school fees are still on the list of what you can get forex for. Educate yourself don't just follow the herd because your overlords somewhere said it.

Bros you are lieing, I am in Malaysia the banks are charging black market rate each time we use our card. Apart from fees students need money to pay rents, food , transportation and clothing. The Nigerian banks are charging us black market rate each time we use our debit card. During transfer Nigerian bank charge black market rates.

What is happening to ur friend is a sad tale but it's not buhari fault that his parents can't afford to pay his rent. If you don't have money to comfortably sponsor your child abroad let him stay at home. The Hausa-Fulani know that they only send their children abroad when they can afford it if not just goto any school in naija

Those that are sponsored like the person that produced a breed of fish are the once i can tell you that our education system is not good. The little injection from abroad is the only hope we can rely on.

Malaysia did not import our oil palm seed. They took a sample and develop it. They gave us half of what they developed but Obasanjo mis manage the strain. We need to develop the strain not import and consume.

I must confess, he really made my trip to Eket meaningful by leaving what he was doing to follow me to so many companies which I never knew were companies because there was no sign post at their entrance.

Today, I really experienced what Job hunt is like and at a particular place, I was indirectly insulted but I took it as one of these bad sides of job hunt.
I entered the company and after explaining to the man my reason of coming, hoping that he would be of help, he started discouraging me.
He started by asking me the state I come from, which I enthusiastically told him hoping that he would perform some wonders.
He told me that he must be sincere with me, that there is no Job in Nigeria and that I should go back to my state and start farming in order to be entitled to the monthly #5000 Buhari promised.

To be sincere, I was surprised with what the man said, but I just managed to thank him and leave the environment.

Anyway to cut the story short, I managed to submit my CV in two places, and I am really hoping to hear from them before or after passing out next month.

School is only a place where we are made to believe that only the best succeed in life. But after school, it's the strong that succeed and not the best.

The best graduating student in IMOSU has a new car now. Let his mate match that.

The beating was too much. If 3 to 5 matured teachers participated in the caning it shows the level of rudeness committed. I can deal with caining my kids, i am sure my kids will not go out of control that will result to this level. I was once a teacher and fully understand the uphill task teachers are doing.

Zoology now goes with name Animal and environmental biology. She can work in research institute, Environmental protection agencies. Hydrobiology is a better option where she would have been able to work in fish farms.

am not justifying whaat the teenager did, but something must have prompted him to do it.

there was a time a lecturer (uniben, for those dat were in sch dat year)was killed with his daughter in his house by unknown men, some pitied the man while others were grateful the man died, even aas the daughter was involved.

I am really piss off each time students blame their lecturers either for stories circulated in some undocumented school.

From Google type their surname and search.

You will see academics association that your lecturer subscribe to e.g
1. Research gate
2.Google scholar citation
3. Academics.

If he is not a member of all this above and others
Hmmmmmm??.

If he is a member check his h-index.

With this you will know if he is just receiving salary or out to make a difference.

My lecturers were not like that and as a lecturer i will never do such.

It is either we pay for education in Nigeria of get nothing.
