Billyonaire: Nigerian guyz seem to hate BB girls, why ? There is no reason to hate BB or hate BB girls. For me, If I see a pretty damsel, and she is not on BB, first thing i do is, buy her a Bold5, to show that I care, then the next thing is get the PIN and we continue from there. Seriously, there is no dull moment if you are me. Cos you will always have at least 10 girls in your palm (in your BB). With success comes love of all things, if you hate certain things for no reason, you are telling the spirits that you dont want them, when in essence you may just hate them cos you cant afford them. Love everything and everything will be made available unto you by the spirits of the Universe. I am one such example. From today, begin to love BB and BB girls and your life will be transformed.Bold 5 all the time? So with ten girls you spend N40OK a year. You must be one of those oyel subsidy marketers we've been looking. EFCC come catch am! |
AjanleKoko: I think it's a great opportunity for Nigerian youths, most of whom have never worked a day in their lives, to come out from hiding behind useless certificates, and get some quality experience and responsibility. That will help to shape their bodies and minds, and enable them to appreciate the value of hard work and a honest day's pay.Well said. Working is good for the body & mind. |
searay: So with my B.Agric, i go apply? Na lie. Instead, I go join politics or MEND/BH equivalentwhy not buy improved seed varieties from IITA, get a land and start farming. And if you studied animal husbandry set up a poultry or goat rearing. Politics? SMH |
Debeloved87: guy,use ur head and nEvery man/woman has to take charge of his/her own destiny. Driving is not a great career but man must wack o. Where are the jobs in Naija? I'm sure some graduate would have applied if he didn't ask for University graduates. Country tough o and opportunities are few. I feel very sad for so many graduates in Nigeria. Things need to change |
People should simmer down and take a deep breath! Dropping out of the top 5 is not a big deal. Given RIMs problems of late this was expected. The technology world is highly innovative and thrives on rapid change. 10 years ago Apple was on his death bed until the ipod and itunes; now it's shares are nearly $600 a pop. With so many devices from Nokia, apple and Samsung, RIM was doomed in the device market, but it still a profit making company and will rise in other areas. Yes it's CEOs made bonehead decisions that led to it's rapid descent especially when iphone came to market. Survival in the technology world is very tough even when you're on top. Where is Motorola today? It was once untouchable now its gone. Most companies in the tech world will go through very turbulent period. That's just the way it is. Microsoft was once very dominant that Bill Gates was more important than any world leader. All eyes are now on Facebook; the new darling of the tech world. It's shares have now plummeted to $20 from $38 when it launched 2 months ago. In 3yrs time we may even be talking about the death knell of FB. You just never know. Tech business is very interesting and fascinating and sometimes difficult to predict the next change. For budding tech entrepreneurs in Nigeria, RIM should be seen as a case study on the challenges of managing rapid growth. That said, RIM made a lot of Canadians wealthy and few are crying over spilled milk. |
ogugua88: This thread is about Segun Arinze's and Justus Esiri's loss of possessions, not the economies and livelihoods of Peckham and Nigeria. You can start another thread on that if you'd like, but it isn't to be discussed here. If you have any other complaints about the appropriate actions made on this thread, then feel free to air your opinions in the Celebrity Complaints Thread. You're absolutely wrong, ma'am You applied very narrow definition of relevancy. Online discussions should mimic real life conversations as best as possible. In real life, we start from one topic and within an hour we’re arguing on something else; just the way it is. Free flow of discussion Anyway, you’re the umpire and it’s your call. It’s all good! |
agabaI23: I can say very well that prior to the middle of last year, it has been 40th out of 40 in most places. The difference now is that it is 30th out of 40 in most place. We have never had it 'so good'what the heck is this your graph? Using birth rate graph to show supply of electricity. seriously? Am I missing something. In your haste to copy & paste you didn't check. abi |
all the best Okupe! na your time to go chop. all these "engaging public" an turenchi |
PhysicsQED: There's an Edo (Bini) guy on the team - Obasohan.Where are all the Nigerian guys playing in the NBA? Are they not on the Naija team? I see Aminu al Farouk and that's it. Emeka Okafor may be a stiff but he still a good rebounder How can Lithuania trash us? Ah well, looks like we're just a passenger in this Olympics |
buzugee:The dream! This guy brought so much respect for Nigeria. Barkeely & Kenny Smith on TNT always exalt Akeem as a professional and a decent human being. Sad to see Nigeria now living in past glory - football, basketball, athletics any sport |
Rossikk: ^^^If you weren't stup.id and brainless you would note that 3 days straight power supply in Nigeria signifies a shift and an improvement in the nation's power supply profile. But then again, you've never contributed a farthing to the benefit of the country in your miserable existence.I was in Lagos (Yaba)last month and there was 5 days of straight power supply and the next 3 days it was 24 hrs darkness. After that it was on and off. So where's the trend? It's irrational to start celebrating over 3 days of power supply. A sustained period (at least 6 months) of continuous supply in most states is a significant shift. Don't you guys get this. It's not about hating GEJ. Successive govt (in last 20yrs) have promised regular power supply and nada! Let's all wait and see. If power becomes stable we should see significant drop in demand for diesel; growth in industrial output etc. We'll all feel it, see it and rejoice in it. Till then... |
chucky234: Nigeria has spent $25bn with only 3,800MW to show for while Brazil spent $10bn and was able to add 10,000MW to take the power generation capacity to 100,000MW with 201 million people while Nigeria with 168 million people almost tripple that amount just to get 3,800MW yet to masses are jubilating instead of asking questions. You're asking too much questions bro. Just accept that power supply is "improving" and you'll be ok. You risk becoming a GEJ hater; a highly punishable offence |
edicolove: Lagos is not producing its own power. Where did you get that from? Only Akwa Ibom and Rivers IPP are close to take off. Lagos iis still planning. Hopefully they will start their IPP soon. This "power Improved" is so vague. How did you measure improvement and conclude this? from what year to what year? in which states or towns or neighbourhood? who's reporting this? and more importantly what's driving this improvement? Are you relying on eye witness accounts? |
It's very amusing that based on unverifiable anecdotal reports we should accept power supply is "improving". And already the protagonists are lining up to trumpet their case: If you don't believe you're GEJ hater; if you do you're drunk on GEJ's koolaid. This is the level of discourse on such a key national issue? People aren't asking the right questions but just love to debate. For over 40 yrs (or more) Nigeria has never enjoyed consistent power supply. FACT. Perhaps 2012 is the year of destiny for this nation; in that case I'll give my own testimony too. Can't we wait for verifiable report from this govt that shows measurable progress? For instance that 70% of households and 60% of businesses across the country now have 24 hrs uninterrupted power supply at end of 2012. Now that is something to discuss about. So by end of 2013 we should expect a vast improvement in industrial output. Till then, its rational to wait and see and even be skeptical about any perceived "improvement". Getting overly excited about frozen ice cubes in your fridge is only tit tat for kindergarten minds. |
dedeike: Profile in excellence which haters and ignorance cannot wish away. And what has this eulogy got to do with matter on ground? Are you a paid hack for Iweala? This write up is a disservice to your client. |
norrisman: I swear down! I just hope say the last 2 digits na .00kobo!"to develop the property at the sum of N13, 516,013,797.58." That's over $81 million. wow! The whole story is very nauseating. |
amdman: ^^^^Like I said earlier, it is not a going-forward strategy to be selling the stuff in the office, displaying it and all that.Selling personal stuff in the office is a bad idea. What if other junior colleague also decides to sell their own stuff too? As a leader you are setting a bad precedent regardless of the benefit to your wife. Good to see you will stop it now. Great to see a guy supporting his wife in business. Wish you all the best and hope the business continues to grow. |
Ranking based on web site traffic? The heading of this thread is very deceptive and should be changed |
FB is now scrapping the bottom of the barrel for revenue sources. People use FB to connect not to search for new products/services. They need to get creative and find some other solutions; not search. That said, I ran a sponsored ad campaign on FB last year but was not really satisfied with the results. It cost approx. $1.05 per click, targeting audiences in Nigeria & South Africa. Now there is pressure to deliver to shareholders. We'll wait and see how this pans out. |
What is Suv? Can someone tell me pls.
A four wheel drive or off road vehicle. Most people in naija call it Jeep eg pathfinder, 4 runner et |

I have to give it to her; she says it as she sees it. Unfortunately, most times she says the dumbest things. Comic relief for the end of a hectic week ![]() |
ROSSIKE: Iyanda 146 saidInteresting report you posted. Look at the top 15 and compare them to top 15 in the HDI index. Ditto bottom 15. You'll observe similarities in the ranking. So countries where corruption is very entrenched will perpetually remain at the bottom of the development index Corruption declining compared to Abacha's time? really? With folks in Abuja carting away Ghana must go every day; with trillions of Naira siphoned away in oil subsidy scam; with legislooters awarding themselves reprehensible allowances; with GEJ getting N1 billion as feeding allowance... need I go on? |
ROSSIKE: Not sure where you're getting those figures. I've seen Life Expectancy rates for India as low as 58. And NONE of those nations were ''our peers'' 25 years ago. That's a flat out lie. We are generally along the same development trajectory and pace that those nations experienced. 20 years ago India's life expectancy was closer to our current level. Just as theirs rose in te last ten years, SO IS OURS ALSO RISING, and at current economic growth rates of 7% per annum, it is BOUND to continue rising, such that by 2020 we should be seeing it hit 60 years or thereabouts. So we ARE making progress, however slowly. Also Life Expectancy is not the only measurement of a nation's progress. On the UN Human Develoment Index we have also seen upward improvements in Nigeria placing us among Medium nations on the HDI from Low about 4 or 5 years ago. We're ranked 156 out of 177 nations in UN Human Development Index (HDI) Ranking. Life expectancy is very closely linked to the wealth of a nation. Its perhaps the best indicator of how well a nation is faring compared to others. Wealthy nations occupy the top in HDI ranking and poorer ones are anchored at the very bottom. Now you see why I keep haring on about this. Countries like India & Malaysia have now left us behind in development. I'm not painting a negative picture just stating the facts. The only reason for our abysmal performance is CORRUPTION. The World Bank has estimated that as a result of corruption 80% of energy revenues benefit only 1% of the population That truly is mind boggling. Every Nigerian knows this, but the only question is how do we extricate our destiny (and destinies of our children) from these blood sucking political elites We can trade banters about whether India or Malaysia is better than us or not, it doesn't matter. The truth is Nigeria, a very rich nation is fast becoming a cash cow for other nations to prosper while most of our people continue to eke out a living simply for survival. This is the heart wrenching paradox of our nation. |
ROSSIKE: Of course 52 is still too low, but it was never going to jump from 47 to 70 overnight. Change happens over YEARS and DECADES even in the most advanced nations. Insofar as we're seeing progress, what we then do is sustain it, not keep denigrating, complaining, and criticising everything night and day.oh yes and our peers 25 yrs ago have life expectancy of 72 (Brazil), 67 (India) and (74) Malaysia. So you go figure why we're criticizing our leaders |
ROSSIKE: Of course 52 is still too low, but it was never going to jump from 47 to 70 overnight. Change happens over YEARS and DECADES even in the most advanced nations. Insofar as we're seeing progress, what we then do is sustain it, not keep denigrating, complaining, and criticising everything night and day.Progress? what progress. For decades, Nigerians have waited (and continue to wait) for power; we're still in darkness. Cite one measurement that shows improvement in power since the last 10 years. Nigeria was in same developmental phase as Brazil, India, Malaysia 25 yrs ago, but today you can't compare us to those nations. We know that a corrupt political elite plundering our commonwealth is the only reason for the lack of development. |
ROSSIKE: Actually it's 52 years according to the stats. And it was 47 years about 5 or 6 years ago. So that speaks to incremental progress however 'slow'.well 52 is still too low. It should be close to 6O years if not we'll never fully exploit the opportunities nor enjoy the benefits from the much hyped growth. Foreign companies are the ones enjoying the dividends of this fast growth. Case in point are the Mobile telecom companies. This guys are just repatriating their profits to safer havens (U.S., Canada etc) or their countries. Nigerians are left o fight over Call centre jobs or recharge card selling opportunities. |
PHIPEX: Some people just refuse to learn.Great analogy. In other words, the economy is growing but too many people remain very poor. This is the reality of Nigeria: Unemployment and inflation rates very high, inequality gap very wide, life expectancy just 51 years, etc |
Yes you can start a businees with £10,000. That said cost of living is so high in Naija. It's unbelievable. Nigeria is a country of high risk and high rewards; that is the beauty of it Not much to say except to wish you all the best |
Whether Boko Harem is a terrorist group or not and whatever mission they are tagged with, the fact still remains that the present corrupt and weak government have contributed a great deal in nursing and making them what they are today. If there is a better standard of living, employment, good education etc among the youths, boko harem will find it difficult to recruit them. NOT all boko haram members are suicide bombers that's a fact! Boko harem claimed they have people in high places, even mr president said they have infiltrated his cabinet. They only suicide bombers and foot-soldiers are the vulnerable youths whom with little or no money they can be easily brainwashed, drugged etc and booom! University graduates have torn their certificates to join boko harem in 2009 in maiduguri but that was when these people were allowed to preach openly to spread their radical beliefs.
Well said except our leaders don't know what to do. I believe Jonathan has raised the white flag on Boko Harem. Tepid actions like changing security chiefs just don't cut it. Boko Harem know that our leadership is weak and will continue to attack. |
Ngwakwe: The CAN President is doing his job. If he doesn't shout and alert the whole world of the present and imminent danger that are facing any Christian living in Northern Nigeria.Simply doing his job is not good enough. Take a leadership position by working with Muslim leaders and govt to find a solution. Giving speeches and hobnobbing with "oyinbo" people abroad is meaningless. Tell him to go back home and do better things. Besides, this pastor needs to better understand the American political landscape. The republican lawmaker is only seizing the opportunity to bash Obamma in an election year; has no interest in Nigeria Smith, a Republican from New Jersey, said the U.S. and the international community had not done enough to confront Boko Haram and identified with the CAN president that indeed the group’s attacks were focused on Christians. |
