logica: Funny people. For how many years were the Aviation Ministers Igbo? Yet, Yorubas are the ones doing everything possible to ensure Lagos has the only viable airport. This is beyond wailing. It doesn't have to do with Aviation minister, Nigeria should have a master plan on development, FG should diversify Nigeria and stop concentrating everything in Lagos, is not that we are envious of lagos, but a sane country should spread its infrastructure, like in South Africa they have the following sea ports in which you can bring in or export your goods and clear it,covering all parts of SA; port of Cape Town Port of Durban Port of East London Port of Port Elizabeth Port of Richards Bay port of Saldanha While Nigeria have one viable airports in lagos and maybe Abuja, South Africa have the following viable standard international airports
Cape Town International Airport (CPT, FACT) Durban International Airport (DUR, FADN) Johannesburg,Lanseria Airport (HLA, FALA) Johannesburg,O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB, FA Mmabatho International Airport (MBD, FAMM) Nelspruit,Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP, FAKN) Polokwane,Polokwane International Airport (PTG, FAPP) Sun City,Pilanesberg International Airport (NTY, FAGN) |

bantudark1: you cant have viable ports,International airports and embassies in every state...its too expensive to mantain..
if you want all those things then build it yourself....asking the fg to do it for you is crazy.....
you think the fg has a magic tree that grows money... ? At least each region should have one state that have a viable international airport, sea ports and consulate for visa issues. It will reduce accident and traffic congestion in lagos and create more jobs in other regions, somebody that live in Kano or Onitsha don't need to travel all the way to lagos to travel out of the country. In South Africa you dont need to move from Cape town or Durban to Johannesburg to leave the country. If you Nigerians want to compete with other countries in development, all this tribal sentiment should be thrown away, it doesn't make sense for people from the SW to keep on bragging that Lagos is the only place that things happen in Nigeria and continue to do everything possible to make sure that the only viable airports, sea ports etc in Nigeria is only found in lagos |

Everything is speciall about Lagos whether you repeat that rubbish tll doomsday. Why is Aba not so lucky?
What was the state of Lagos in 1999?
Abuja has been developed by the FG 100X more than Lagos WHY IS ABUJA NOT A BOOMING ECONOMY Abuja have not receive much than lagos, FG made lagos the economic nerve centre of Nigeria after the capital was moved to Abuja.Abuja was not programmed to be an economic hub,but an administrative capital. Stop been too emotional about issues, nobi your papa own lagos |

aribisala0: Lagos State is the most indebted state. A significant amount of development in Lagos today is down to debt.We may argue that the debtt was well used but it is still debt not the fG
Another error many people make is to say Lagos State was the former FCT ,,IT WAS NOT
A small part of the state was the FCT not the entire state. do not get it twisted There nothing special about lagos, there is no healthy competition among states in Nigeria,Lagos is lucky to have been developed by colonial masters and FG, other states did not have that opportunity.Look at how FG is pumping money in developing Abuja, that how the colonial masters and FG pump money into lagos till 1991 to make it befitting capital of Nigeria then.Successive lagos state government have done anything special, they just living on already built state with FG protection. If you want imoport something it must pass through lagos port where we have other ports in PH and Calabar. If you want travel to many world destinations you must pass through lagos where we can have more standard airports in other regions. Oil headqueters all in lagos, embassies and visa issues all in lagos. Bank hq all in lagos. |
Politics › Re: How Lagos May Be Underdeveloping The Rest Of Nigeria - Ynaija by Odingo1: 12:31am On May 21, 2017 |
The problem with Nigeria is that the FG refuse to see all region of Nigeria as one entity and thrive in tribalism and nepotism. If FG is serious,Lagos shouldn't be the only state that has viable ports,International airports and embassies. For people that live in the SE/SS they should have viable international airports, sea ports and consulates, the same with people in the North. Nothing special about Lagos, lagos was just lucky be the former colonial headquarter and former capital of Nigeria developed by colonial masters and FG |

Name one hatred Igbos has on other Nigerians . The war was fought over 50 years ago, if Americans remain under the yoke of their civil war will they be the world power today. Igbos move around Nigeria, they make their money and invest their money in their host community where they make the money and other Nigerians hate them for that. Why must FG unrepentantly excluding SE from developmental projects in Nigeria,in sane country like South Africa all the nook and cranny of the country is developed, giving all of them a sense of belonging, the same fast train you enter in Johannesburg is what you will see in southern part of cape town, port Elizabet,Durban, everywhere, unlike in Nigeria where you will enter train from Makurdi in Benue state to Portharcourt, if you reach Enugu you will stop and enter a bus because out of tribalism,FG wont connect Enugu-Aba-PH lane and you call that a Country. |

[s] Kingsolex1: A Russian saw me in my office and said where are you from , i said am from the greatest country in the world. He looked at me with a very strange look and said let me guess u are from Nigeria , i said yes. Out of curiosity he said considering whats happening in your country now why would you say shes the best in the world and i asked him to sit down and let me tell him what he and most people dont not know about Great Nigeria and i told him these.......
1. Are you aware that all over the world Nigerians are setting the pace and becoming the standard by which others measure themselves? Do you know??
2. In the US, Nigerians are the most educated immigrant community. Type it into Google and you’ll see it. Not one of the most educated, the most educated.
3. 60% of Nigerians in the US have college degrees. This is far above the American national average of 30%.
4. Nigerians in US are one of the highest earners, typically earning 25% more than the median US income of $53k. 5. In Ivy League schools in Europe and America, Nigerians routinely outperform their peers from other nations.
6. A Nigerian family, The Imafidon family, have officially been named the smartest family in the UK. 7. The designer of the famous car, Chevrolet Volt, Jelani Aliyu, is a super talented Nigerian from Sokoto State.
8. The World’s fastest supercomputer was designed by a world renowned inventor and scientist, Philip Emeagwali, a full-blown Nigerian whose pat ency was awarded in 2015. This means Nigeria has the pat ency to the world’s fastest computer: a Nigerian.
9. The wealthiest Black man and woman on earth are Nigerians, Aliko Dangote and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija. Both have no trace of criminal record of any kind.
10. South Africa couldn’t have ended apartheid & achieved Black rule if not for the leadership role Nigeria played.
11. Of the 3 South African Presidents who ruled after apartheid, two of them once lived in Nigeria under asylum. Both Nelson Mandela (60s) and Thabo Mbeki (70s) lived in Nigeria before becoming President of South Africa. We gave financial support, human support, boycotted an Olympics and our politicians, musicians and activists campaigned relentlessly.
12. Nigeria spent over $3 Billion and lost hundreds of soldiers to end the wars in both Liberia and Sierra Leone which the world ignored because they have no oil.
13. When there was a coup in São Tomé and Príncipe in 2003, Nigeria restored the elected President back to power.
14. Before there were street lights in European cities, ancient Benin kingdom had street lights fueled by palm oil.
15. 500 years ago, Benin casted metal alloys to create magnificent art including the world famous Queen Ida Mask.
16. Amina was a warrior queen who ruled Zaria Emirate in Kaduna state, Northwestern Nigeria 400 years ago in 1610. Google and see what she means to Africa.
17. We gave monetary gifts to Ireland during our oil boom and built a statue for France free of charge. We are not poor blacks. Nigeria is rich and don’t be lied to.
18. The first television station in Africa was NTA Ibadan (1960) long before Ireland has their RTE station.........
Wherever you look in this great country, Nigeria, heroes abound both now and in our recent and ancient past. If all you do is listen to mainstream Western media, you’ll not get the full & true picture of your Nigerian heritage. Do not listen to any leader who says Nigerians are criminals, no matter who he is, or his height and position. We’re not a nation of scammers, drugs & corruption, but a people with a verifiable track record of greatness........
Here is what CNN, BBC, Aljezeera and western media will not tell you about Nigerians:
19. On the 7th of May, 2016 at Howard University in Washington D.C history was made. Out of 96 graduating Doctor of Pharmacy candidates, 43 of them were Nigerians and out of 27 awards given, 16 went to Nigerians. The entire world still envies our uniqueness as a NATION, living together despite our ethnic diversity. One single country with over 400 languages. They will only tell you how Nigerians are scammers and cheats, how Nigerians are into drugs overseas. If you don’t blow your trumpet, no one will blow it for you.
VIVA NAIJA!!!
20. There are over 180,000,000 Nigerians world over and only about 250,000 of this figure have traceable criminal records. This is about 0.14% of our entire national population in the last 20 years: nothing close to 1%. Shame on global media.
Listen Nigeria, don't let anybody woo you into believing that you are a criminal just because you are a Nigerian. Nigerians are NOT criminals. You are NOT a criminal. You are topnotch; second to none around the world. I am proud am created a Nigerian, thank you God. Be proud of Nigeria wherever you go. Take out your Passport with pride.
Guess what happened next ? . . . . . .He couldn't talk and just walked away. Am proud to be a Nigerian and be from that country.... God bless Federal Republic Of Great Nigeria.
cc.. lalasticlala mynd44 [/s] Nonsense, hiding in another man cold freezing country and shouting that Nigeria is the greatest country,if you say this to Germans where I am living your ass will be deported to go and live in that your greatest country. What are you doing in their country if your own is greater than theirs, Germans dont take rubbishClose to 60 years of your Nigeria independence you cant boast of anything good,no electricity,no water, bad roads, killings everywhere,Boko haram everywhere, nepotism, tribalism to the highest heaven,no good hospital, your president have made UK hospital his home. For your mind you think that western countries dont know your country more than you with everything that is happening in it,i pity you. |

Southerners always indirectly giving these people the gut to behave as they like. At times I feel sad about the yorubas, because they are the people giving these Hausas the gut to be misbehaving while ignorantly claiming sophistication in politics. I am not a fan of Jonathan per say because he erred in many ways but 2015 would have been the best chance the igbos and the yorubas would have shown north that Nigeria is not their own. They threatened as they have started with osibanjo now that if power is not handed over to them heaven will fall, but the SW messed up forming sophistication and good political strategists. Had it been we shaked them then, they won't be threatening and talking rubbish again. Guy when yorubas where busy supporting and phraising Buhari for disregarding federal character, and appointing only northerners, now the northerners can have a meeting and do whatever they like because the south is not represented, they can rig the election as they like because they hold all the positions, there will be no resisting voice. |

BTW what can you boast of as achievement in your region under GEJ? NOTHING cos your people were busy filling their pockets instead This is how you made GEJ president after dividing your vote in 2011, always siting on the fence and waiting for the winner, then as a chameleon you change color and start claiming that you are the one that made the person who win a president. Take a time to study this your voting pattern in 2011,treacherous people. The north have told you people that your vote is inconsequential and the Kano votes is more than the entire SW. You gave GEJ 40% of your vote so that in case he win Buhari in 2015 election, you will use that to claim you supported him well to win, always siting on the fence and playing double standard.knife of two sharp edges them.

Louder this time, and probably with some street violence meted out to southerners up North. Buhari only won because he was able to create a governing coalition with the AC juggernaut in the SW. No Northerner will get SW votes in the next election. Osibanjo would sweep the entire South and make big gains in the Middle Belt. After what you SW people did to GEJ a southerner;which southerner will vote for Osinbajo, you are taking SE/SS/MB as fools, yoruba vote alone cant make osinbajo president and besides is not the turn of yoruba, yoruba should give other tribes chance to become Nigeria president otherwise they will pay for their greediness. |
