Ikwere have been trying to convince other Nigerians that they are not Igbos because every other minority tribes in Nigeria like Bini,Isoko, Efik, Ibibio,Egun,Itsekiri etc all have their indigenous native spoken languages while Ikwere have no native language except the Igbo language they are speaking and bearing of Igbo names.They said they are from Bini but doesn’t have any atom of Bini language in Igbo language they are speaking neither do they bear any Bini names.

I am a Christian and I studied Arabic both in my secondary and a little bit of it in my University days.

If not that religion has divided us so much in this Country this call to remove this Arabic from the Naira wouldn't have been necessary.

Ajami is Hausa in Arabic style , it's the first writing style in Nigeria and it has been in existence and begin used in the northern part of Nigeria before our colonial master introduced us to western education and writing in Roman script. and it has nothing to do with religion. even the Roman script was introduced to us by Christian missionaries and we adopted it to be our official writing style. it doesn't mean anything to feel hostile about.

There is a difference between a learned language and a mother tongue. Tiv, Berom, Igala, Okun etc all have their unique mother tongue languages but learn Hausa for easy communication with other tribes in the middle belt. Ikwere have no mother tongue except Igbo which they speak and derive their names from. They claim to be from Bini but there is no single Bini language in their mother tongue, that is the contention.

Why is it that Ijaw, Ibibio, Oron, Efik etc despite their proximity and intermarriage with Igbos retained their language while only Ikwere lost their entire ancestral heritage language 100% to Igbo language.
